i have file a TDR on 26 dec 2008 on IRCTC to cancel my Train ticket because train is late by more than 6 Hours. so many times i have written mail to IRCTC but my money is not refund till date.

I have not got my money back of tickets which i have booked on[protected] from New Delhi to Jammu Tavi the tickets are not confirmed they are in waiting of 14, 15, 16 the train was uttar sampark kranti 12445 if i will not got my money back in my accont in 24 hrs i will knock the door of consumer court .my contact number is [protected] .

    Hi,
    On 26th May-09 I had filed a TDR as the train was late more than three hours and the amount of the ticket was Rs 1985.00.But the amount which is acutally refunded on 28th Aug-09 is only Rs.980.00.
    I do not understand why the less amount has been refunded.
    Kindly look into it as it has been now a long time.The deatils of the ticket are as under.

      I tried to book Railway Reservation Tickets Through IRCTC online e-ticketing facility on 05th Oct 2009. durng the booking process due to network failures my transaction could not succeed and reservation was not done. when i cheked my account balance on 6nd Oct 2009 balance is showing less amount by Rs 399/-. I request you to kindly look in to the issue and credit back my amount to my account.

        Hi Team

        The Ticket PNR number[protected] for Train No 2296 for journey dated 22nd May from Patna to Bangalore was booked through IRCTC in TATKAL QUOTA. The status while booking was W/L 30.
        The TTE from Patna while checking informed that the ticket was not confirmed and he made a separate ticket with fine.
        Later I found out that the Ticket was confirmed as BE 1/ 25.
        So I have paid twice for the same ticket.
        As a proof I am attaching the scanned copy of the Ticket which was made for me in Train.
        Details of the ticket booked through IRCTC
        PNR[protected]
        Date of Journey : 22 May 2009
        Boarding : Patna(PNBE) Till : Bangalore City (SBC)

        Attachments
        1) Scanned copy of the ticket made in train.
        2) Scrrenshot of the confirmed status of the ticket.

        Please treat it as urgent and arrange to refund the amount or escalate the matter.

        A mail was sent to IRCTC team on 25th May but they have just sent a reply on 3rd August that money refund is not possible. I am 200% sure and I am attaching the scanned files for the extra money taken by TTE.
        Please escalate and help me in getting me the money back.

        Railway — Wrongly Charged TDR Refund declined

        PNR No. [protected]
        Ticket left Behind. Recipt No F318203, Charged Rs 910 +250 = 1160.

        Passanger forgot to carry Print out of e-ticket. Passange was carring PNR number as well as valid Identity proof. TTE Charged full Tkt instead of only Rs.50 as mentioned in railway rules. file TDR but decline.

          Please go through this mail. I have done file TDR on 16-Dec-2008. Till today(1/10/2009) I haven't received amount from tdr department. This looks like reduculas. Please let me know if any one help me @ 91-[protected].

          Sorry for the inconvenience. Kindly note that your refund case of PNR No. [protected] has been forwarded to CCM/North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur on dt. 20.12.08. We have already issued Reminder No. 1 & 2 on dt. 15.06.08 & 29.07.09 to concerned railway to chase up the case. But despite reminder refund yet not received from the concerned railway. Now we are sending a Reminder No. 3 dt. 14.09.09 with all the papers pertaining to your refund case to concerned railway to chase up the cases. As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account.

          complaint aganst not travelling on tatkal ticket.dated 02.01.2010 we are reserved five tickets to GARIBRADH from visakpatnam to secunderabad thr our agent SITARAMAYYA KONAKALLA..JUST MAKE AA CALL..VIZIANAGARAM 535002, in the name of N.V.V.V. BABA age 55, and party.. On 2nd 8.30pm train depature, just we missed the train, immediately i infromed to our agent sitaramayya konakalla, our agent make note to your office, for refund of five tickets..now we are waiting for your reply but our agent inform we are not send any reply, so please interfere in this matter and infor m to our agent and credit the refund amount to our agent account immediately. in this regard we hope to refund the amount as early as possible.

            The IRCTC website has not been working properly.. the trains are not getting displayed and the website does not show the route of the trains to kerela, says that the train has been suspended by DBA
            Since today morning 8am (2nd October), not able to logon to IRCTC website, after many tries it logged in. But "Plan my Travel" page does not get loaded.

            Please have a look at high priority. We know this website has many hits causing this issues, but please plan to have a high end server.

            Now i am not able to book tickets, not the only case with me, it could be many too.

            The reason behind is not only agents, also 25%seats would be booked as "Ec" quota by Railway employees.Site down is happening for the past 4 months.Its government site, no one has rights to ask them questions.No one will answer i[censored] ask them.if we stand in line, then bloddy agents will come before 4am and standing in a que.Better i have an option, u try for it.Now a days I had booked tickets thro (railticketonline.come)...please dont go for credit card booking..go for Quick book.it will go faster n safe booking...try this next time...

              I was booking a tatkal ticket from udupi to new delhi. every thing was going on fine, but when i entered all my details for payment such as my ATM card no. and other details it showed an error. When i checked money in my bank an amount of Rs. 1847 has been deducted. Later when i tried the website again it is showing that website is down due to some maintenance reason. Now my money is lost and I want it back as no ticket has been booked.

                Dear sir..
                i tired to book a tatkal ticket through my irctc account by today[protected]
                by 7.30 am, (6527-Yeswantpur Kannur express/date of journey[protected]
                but i got the result "not available"...(the ticket for[protected] was also not available
                in that window...how it is possible...is it justified...?)
                as per your rule, booking is
                opening only 2 days before the journey
                (excluding the date of journey)
                then why ticket for 30th September. is 'not
                available’ on 26th September, (see the screen shots from your site attached)
                is it justified..?

                This is possible because rules for Tatkal Reservation is going to change from[protected] i.e. Tatkal Reservation is also possible for intermediate stations w.e.f.[protected], therefore it was shown NOT AVAILABLE ON 28-09-09 & 30-09-09 AND AVAILABLE ON[protected]

                  Dear Sir,

                  This is regarding the refund of my two tickets which is still not yet received after 120 days of booking. I had called up and written so many times to irctc but nothing happened till date. Just a simple reply they sent that they had send the reminder to the region. I'm a regular user of IRCTC and also in possession of IRCTC SBI CARD. But the refund service is really pathetic. Kindly help to get my refund from IRCTC. Such delay in my rightful claim from railways is discouraging me to use the services of railway for internet bookings. The detail of PNR's

                  IRCTC Train Ticket — Train Ticket Refund

                  Sir,

                  I had booked a train ticket on 20th December 2008 and due to bad transaction over the internet, i had to try couple of time. In this process there were 5 wrong transactons and 5 debits to my acount. Of these 4 credits have happened while one transaction of Rs. 1345 is not refunded till date and i have been loosing money calling over the STD for the last 3 months.

                  TDR refund:IRCTC — Non receipt of refund against partly waitlisted tickets

                  Refund was filled through “File:TDR” on IRCTC website for PNR No. [protected], Transaction ID No. [protected], Date of journey: 20th March, 2009, Journey from: New Delhi (NDLS) to Dhanbad JN (DHN), for two passengers i.e. Nidhi Mehta (Age 33) and Suhani Mehta (Age 8) whose births were not confirmed and were not allowed to board the train. Further, the original certificate signed by TC at the time of travel was also dispatched to IRCTC at the time of filling of TDR;
                  Also find enclosed herewith electronic ticket vide PNR No. [protected] against which the refund is filled. Against the same TC has allocated only one birth (i.e. T3/ 48) and remaining two passengers who were waitlisted, were not confirmed and further were not allowed to board the train;
                  The said TDR filled on 27th March, 2009. Further the said TDR showed the TDR status: Admin approved and the refund status as “refund under process” till 23rd September, 2009 (enclosed herewith the copy of the screen)
                  The said refund was pending for more than six months inspite of repeated reminders through emails and over phones;
                  After lapse of six months, I received the response saying denial of refund. Further when I checked the IRCTC web site I found the remark as “211-ER/3 No Certificate was sent regarding non-performance of W/L passenger. The case is repudiated.”
                  As explained the same is clearly unjust, unfair, fraudulent trade practice on the part of IRCTC and Indian Railways resulting into huge financial loss and mental unrest to me due to non grant of refund and untimely response. I strongly urge IRCTC to reexamine the said matter and further strongly take up Indian Railways explaining the whole facts of the case;
                  Further I have also asked for the copy of denial letter given by Indian railways through my previous emails and telephone, for me to approach legal recourse. The said copy is also not provided by IRCTC/indian railways

                  My Citibank account through which I booked this ticket is now closed. This is because Citi bank has increased the minimum bank limit to Rs 1 lakh without me informing about it from 1st March 2013. And this is not affordable by me. so I have get the account closed in first week of March 2013.

Shame on IRCTC as their executives and Senior customer care officers doesn't know what to answer except giving faulty information & passing on the querry to some other department with standard reply of " We would like to inform you that your below enclosed email has been forwarded to the concerned department.You will receive a reply in this regard shortly"

                  Citi phone officer gave me alternative to reopen my account by arranging Rs 1 lakh and I should make request to IRCTC to again send the refund amount.

                  Me a poor person can't afford to have Rs 1 lakh balance which is fault from citi bank.
                  Secondly I made a mistake of cancelling ticket without realising that I have booked it through citi bank.

                  My only question to IRCTC is can't they track based on the above ARN no & payment voucher number and confirm me weather they have received the money????? because as per citi bank the money was transferred through IRCTC but since my account was closed they transferred back the amount to IRCTC.
                  Alternatively if Citi bank has received the money, can they provide me the money in form of DD or Cheque????

                  Really struggling to get my money back. Don't understand who is correct citi bank or IRCTC.
                  Shame on Indian Government and its associated department like IRCTC, where employees doesn't have any ownership and complete information about their process

                        IN GENERAL,PROCUREMENT OF BED ROLLS HAVE DETERIORATED DRASTICALLY.USED BEDSHEETS ARE BEING PROVIDED TO THE PASSENGERS.HAND TOWEL IS BEING PROVIDED AFTER REPEATED REQUEST.AS FAR AS BLANKETS ARE CONCERN ,THE ATTENDS ARE TRYING TO IGNORE TO PROCURE.THESE ALL ARE GIVING A VERY BAD REPUTATION TO RAILWAYS.MOST OF THE TIMES BED SHEETS ARE TOO DIRTY TO USE.I AM FREQUENTLY TRAVELING BY MATHURA-PATNA EXPRESS, SITUATION IS HORRIBLE IN THE AC COACHES.

                          I had a bad experince in Pandian Expr on 14 Sep. I reserved my ticket online and I got side upper sleeper. It was so terrible that the berth was so close to the top and couldn't able to sit at all. Even It was very difficult to lie down. And couldn't able to move in any side. Recently they removed the side middle berth. But they didnt lowered the side upper berth. It was like a cage. I hit my head thrice on the sharp egdes in the bar which was holding the berth on top.

                          What comfort level southern railway is giving to the passengers?

                            Dear Sir,

                            Sub: Excess/Wrong charging of food rates

                            This is to inform you that I had traveled from Jaipur to Howrah in Train No.2308 on 22/08/2009 and experienced the below incidents during my travel and was astonished to find that even after the directive of the India Railways the IRCTC people charging higher prices of food/edible products.

                            Incident 1

                            At the Mughalsaria station there is an IRCTC counter (on Platform No.2 near the Inspector’s Rest House) selling food/edible products.

                            It was around 3.00 PM in the afternoon and it was pretty hot as such I went to purchase a bottle of Cold Drink. I asked the price of 1 bottle of 400ml Cold Drink he told me it is Rs.25/-. I paid him the money.

                            I had purchased the same bottle at the Jaipur Station for Rs.20/- from an IRCTC counter. As such I checked the prices written over the IRCTC counter (at Mughalsarai) and found that it is written – “ Cold Drinks – MRP ”. I then checked the price on the bottle, Rs.22/- was printed. I again enquired at the counter and was blatantly told that the price is Rs.25/- I protested and informed him that it is written as “MRP” over the counter. On saying so he got moonstruck and immediately returned Rs.3/-.

                            But on the side he was continuously selling the bottle at Rs.25/-. Generally everybody are in a hurry when they alight from the train on stations to purchase food, but IRCTC people knowingly duping customers is absolutely wrong and unethical.

                            Incident 2

                            While traveling in the above train I had ordered for a Veg dinner to the Pantry guy on 22/08/09. After I had finished the dinner the person (Dilip Singh) turned up to collect the tray as well as the money. I asked him the charges of the same and was amazed to listen as I was asked to pay Rs.60/-

                            I told him that I was aware about the railway rates and I had paid Rs.32/- when I was traveling from Howrah to Jodhpur. But he consistently demanded Rs.60/-. I then asked him to show the rate chart but he refused to show the same. Finally he took Rs.32/- and said a lot bad things and challenged us to complain to anybody. I asked him to get the complain book but he refused to bring the same.

                            I fail to understand how these things happening without any fear. These people think themselves that they are above law. I hope railway will take stern action to stop these kind of filthy behaviour/services given to customers.

                            These small impediments should be completely stopped so that the high level of service and standard of the Indian Railways can be maintained. Also the efforts of the Railway Ministry to make it one of the biggest and most customer friendly service can be achieved.

                            Being an responsible citizen of our country I presume that it is my duty to bring to your notice these issues to help you to help us to make better and efficient railway.

                            Please set an example so that each and every person attached with the Railways thinks twice before doing any wrong to any customer in terms of service or behaviour.

                            Hoping for some urgent action in the above matter.

                            IRCTC — Over Charging of edibles

                            Sir/ Ma'am

                            Please take a note that several commodities served on the train are being over charged.
                            The scene is no better on railway stations. Items like Cold Drinks , Ice Creams and Chips , etc are being sold on prices above the MRP. ( Cold Drinks MRPed at Rs. 20 are sold for Rs. 25, Ice Creams MRPed at Rs. 15 are sold for Rs.20 , etc)

                            It is very disheartening to know that people are entertaining such dupery. And so a repel of a few odd persons does not make much difference to these vendors. and morever they behave rude and sometimes even use abusive language,

                            My personal witnesses to these events more than couple of times have pursued me to make this complaint.

                            Please make efforts to communicate to the public that they shouldn't over pay to any such vendor no matter what all excuses he makes.It should be notified that the person hired by IRCTC is already being payed and should not be tipped or payed in any such manner.

                            Please take into consideration this issue, as it may seem minor as of now, but soon this will create mayhem.

                            I AM FREQUENT TRAVELLER FOR THE TRAINS AS I TRAVEL THROUGH OUT INDIA, THIS IS GENERAL THAT THE RAILWAY PANTRY HAWKERS ARE CHARGING EXTRA INSTEAD OF REGULAR CHARGES FOR TEA THEY CHARGE RS. 5/- FOR 150 ML, BUT THEY FILL ONLY 100 ML AND AND ON DEMANDING THEY THEY COME TO FIGHT WITH PASSENGER LIKE WISE IT IS WITH EVERY ITEM SUPPLIES FROM THE PANTRY CAR TO THE PASSENGER THIS IS HOW THE CITIZENS OF INDIA HAVE BEEN CHEATED WITH OUT ANY HESITATION. MORE OVER THE ITEMS BEING SUPPLIED THROUGH PANTRY CAR IS NOT HYGENIC AND SAFE FOR PASSENGERS

                            IRCTC counters — over price

                            i am a frequent traveller and while travelling across many states in india at railway station,the IRCTC counter people in many stations sell the food items like mineral water bottle,cold drinks,milk items more than their M.RP.The recent incident was of Howrah station where a mineral water bottle havinf MRP Rs. 12/- was sold off by Rs. 14/-.Since at railway stations the travellers have less time to get involved with the price issue,these IRCTC counter people get away with it.Please take some actions against these willfully price deciding counters of IRCTC

                            Dear All, Mr.Pankaj Paharia is absolutely right, our Indian railway catering facing very poor, they are charging above Rs 60 for veg meal instead of Rs32.

                            Same case i have faced in Shivganga express also.

                            Mr.Pankaj Paharia is absolutely right, Im also had the same exprience with the catering people.Kindly arrange to see that they charge the correct amount from the passengers.
                            i paid 70 for veg, with anda curry it is 85, with chicken 120 in howrah-chennai mail. Bisleri is nowhere available. water is 15/-.

                            i heard from the servers that contract is sub-sub-sub contracted. there is direct supervision of original contractor. hence we pay for channel cost.


                            for your info i never paid tipped. here you can not make IRCTC responsible. we are responsible.server who was giving pillow/towels he also begs for tip with poor looking face.

                              I had booked an e ticket on august 5, through IRCTC, however due to concurrency problems with IRCTC, ticket got booked with somone else's user id, even after I have proved that there was a mistake from IRCTC side & I am the real owner of the ticket, no action has been taken so far. Initially they replied to my email complaints but now they have stopped doing that too. Can anyopne just let me know, that to whom I can take this matter, so that it is properly addresses

                                I made a programm to JAMMU TAVI (JAT) from KANPUR CENTRAL with my family members.so i made a reservation train named 2487/SEEMANCHAL EXP. to OLD DELHI. In which his sedhule time was 07-09-09 at14:30 but the train arrived 08-09-09at 0:30. So due to late I missed the train who's time route was delhi to jammu and departure time was 23:45, In which time was 23:45 on 07-09-09, In which I reserved the seat .

                                Dear Sir/Madam,

                                I have booked a ticket through IRCTC on 09 Mar 2012 and the amount got debitted from my Account but PNR number not generated and ticket not issued. I checked in IRCTC site under failed transactions and the transaction is available and provided with information that instructions provided for the Bank to credit the amount on 03 Mar 2012. But still the amount not credited to my account when I enquired with my accounting branch, bank informed that no instructions has been provided to credit the amount. IRCTC Customer care requested to provide the screen shot of my bank trasanctions. But till now I have not received any reply and I followed with them for a couple of times. Please advice how I can get my money back.

                                  Hello,
                                  I booked an E-Ticket from Alwaye to Yeshwantpur on 5th September 2009 on train number 2258 PNR number [protected]. The ticket was confirmed at the time of booking. The scheduled departure of the train form the originating station is 20.00 hrs and time of boarding from alwaye station is 00.30 hrs on 6th sept.

                                  When i tried to cancel the ticket at 0800 hrs on 5th september, which is 12 hours before time of departure, to my horror, the site says that the chart is already prepared and that I cannot cancel my ticket. I called the customer care and got to know that the chart was prepared overnight for this train, which means that the CHART WAS PREPARED 24 HRS BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIME FROM ORIGINATING STATION. The IRCTC website clearly says that the chart is prepared 4 hours before time of departure, and in case the departure time is before 12 noon, chart is prepared overnight, which is not the case here.

                                  I have attached the screenshots which explains my situation

                                  Hence I would appretiate an explanation from the Indian railways for this and expect a 75% refund for my ticket as quoted in the e ticket cancellation procedure below.
                                  "If a confirmed ticket is cancelled within 24 hrs and upto 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, cancellation charges shall be 25% of the fare subject to the minimum flat rate mentioned in the above clause"

                                  I came to konw only after the IRCTC web site informed me that this can not be cancelled. If it is so, at the time of booking itself this fact should have been brought to notice. Only after loosing money we realised that.
                                  i m booked the tatkal ticket from e-ticket. i booked the ticket for 4 march instead of 6 march it possible there should be chance of cancellation after 48 hours. if possibilities occurs plz guide me properly.

                                  I had booked a ticket as Waiting List. The train time is 11AM the next day. I tried to cancel the ticket 8:00 PM the previous day. To my surprise, I got the message that it is not possible to cancel e-tickets once the chart is prepared. I was in the impression that chart is prepared 4 hrs before the train journey time.
                                  Iam attaching the screen shots of the details I got.
                                  I kindly request to refund the ticket charges due to inconvenience caused to the customer.

                                    I purchased a kingfisher drinking water bottel from the IRCTC station stall and when i drank it, it tasted different. Then i noticed that the bottel that they were selling is a refilled one. I lauged a complaint with the station master about it.I had registered a complain dated 03/02/09 at cst station in the name of Bipin S. Lalan. But i think the station master is also involed in it thats why even after registering the complain no action has been taken against him. Thats why today i seek help from www.consumercomplaints.in so that they can do something about it. I also got ill after drinking that water and thats why also expect a compensation for the same for which they can contact me on [protected]. I have all proofs including the platform ticket and the wriiten complain that say's that even the station master caught this stall person red handed.
                                    Please take action against this as soon as possible if possible cancell that stall's licence for doing something like this because still today he does the same thing and has not changed.

                                      Today (31/08/2009) I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on 2703 FALAKNUMA EXP from Cuttack Jn to Vizianagaram Jn boarding on 20/09/2009 at cuttack for Ansumesh Kumar Samal with two other person. Unfortunately after the payment was made through SBI ATM cum DEBIT payment gateway, the error, "REDIRECT=https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/bv60.dll/irctc/booking/bankrespon... came up without giving me the confirmation of the payment and neither the ticket is generated.

                                      This is really embarrasing situation and IRCTC is expected to help me at the earliest with the ticket if the payment is already confirmed at their end. If not refund the same amount.

                                      whenever i try to print an e ticket, when i press the button "print ERS" the other window appears with ticket details, but the table in which the details are written, is always shifted right so that when i print it the table is not printed on the sheet.

                                        I had booked 3 tickets from Delhi-Agra, which were waitlisted at the time of booking.
                                        One out of the 3 tickets got confirmed 4 hours before travel and I called up the IRCTC call center to cancel the tickets.
                                        Inspite of my call, they did not cancel the ticket. Later I filed a TDR for the refund of 3 tickets as no had travelled on this ticket. This complaint was filed on 13 Aug, 2008. Till date I have not received the refund of Rs. 2100 inspite of several phone calls and emails to their various departments.

                                        while i was on travel to the holy place of 'MAA VAISHNO DEVI' my return ticket was in the train 0404(Udhampur Delhii Special) on 1st of Sept. 2009 from Jammu Tavi Railway station, when I board the train i have found that there was not even a single drop of water in the train, I have told to the E and the RPF men in the train, but they didn't help me any more. All the passengers have spent all their time without water in the train during their journey to Delhi. Please do somthing about this . My reservation was in Coach no. S7, birth no. 40.

                                        IRCTC- Indian Railways — Money collected for non-receipt of the tickets

                                        Dear Sir/Madam,

                                        I was trying to book the tickets for my parents from Chirala to Tirupathi thru IRCTC.CO.IN, after furnishing the details for travel, made the payment Rs.879 thru my SBI Netbanking facility where the same was debited from my account,but the ticket was not issued erroring a meessage 'unable to issue the ticket'. It's been a week but still the money is not yet credited to my SBI account.Attaching the transaction confirmation alert page for your reference.. please do the needful at the earliest.
