“I have a tatasky DTH ID No.[protected] .After number of complaints to tata sky ( JB8HANO, J6H5LIE etc.) informing that I had not been able to view tatasky for number of weeks my defective set top box was changed with a repaired set top box on 30/7/15 by one illiterate Tatasky engineer Ashish upadhyay(from authorized tatasky agent Riyya Enterprise). This set top box too stopped functioning in two weeks, even though I watch TV only for about 1 hour.
On new complaint JLPKHPC Ashish upadhyay again installed another set-top box today, which too is defective. which switches on & off after multiple operations instead of one operation. Even connecting pin from fine adapter has to be repeatedly inserted to the faulty set-top box to make it work. On seeing this upadhyay was himself saying “ I don’t know for how many days it will work” and he insisted on me to buy a new HD set-top box from him for receiving non HD Tatasky services.
Upadhyay always brings very defective set top boxes. There is no check on him or his employer “Riyaa enterprises”. Updhyay always has heap of work orders sheets in his hand, about twenty at a time when he comes to my house at 6.30 pm. It appears that during the day he collects many faulty set-top boxes from other customers’ houses and installs one of them, which is less faulty and somewhat in temporary working condition to the house of customer like me and easily picks pocket of Rs 500/-. Such set-top box work for few days to the harassment of customer and then again he is ready for another booty. I always write down faults of his service and instruments on his order sheet, but no tatasky officer ever reads them. Tatasky people have unauthorizedly stolen hundreds of Rupees from me in the last 6 months without providing services for weeks every month.
For this defective set top box Rs. 500/- have been debited today from my account, when tatasky senior executive had assured me on phone no charges will be deducted. . Tata sky people are so shame less that they have deducted hundreds of rupees from my account without providing services for weeks. I should not have been charged any amount for third class service.
In todays News papers headline C & AG has inducted Tata Power Discom for fleecing public of hundred of crores at Delhi. This is what once a reputed company TATA SONS have become today.
In this way TATA SKY will be forcing me to go to THE CONSUMER FORUM for compensation for harassment being given to me, especially when I am regularly paying monthly charges. I will also disrepute them of their misdeeds on all international and national consumer forums.”

Tata Sky customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
My subsequent calls to Tata Sky customer care had an automated system, which said that press '1' or some number (which I do not remember now) if my complaint is about 'No Signal', and that there will be a call back and a technician will be sent for rectification. No response after repeated trials and pressing the required number asking for a call back / technician's help.
So I decided reluctantly to shift to a local cable operator after being with Tata Sky for so many years. Since I used to always subscribe for annual or semi-annual packages (I had subscribed for the 'South Jumbo'), I continued to get statements from Tata Sky, deducting my monthly subscription from the credit balance even after April. So I called up Tata Sky again and informed them that since I have not been getting any signals and no one came to rectify my problem, why they are still charging me every month, and to refund my balance. I was informed that the subscription is non refundable and I will not get anything back, whatever may be the amount paid in advance. I have not been using Tata Sky for the last 5 months (since April 2015), and I had a balance of over Rs. 1600 at that time.
This is the first time I have come across a situation where a Tata Group Company is so UNETHICAL in their business practices. I would still like to reactivate my connection with them, but the company does not seem to be interested even in their LONG TIME CUSTOMERS. Is there no forum to take note of such injustices being meted out to individual customers in this country? IT IS A VERY SAD THING, IF NO ONE IN SUCH A COMPANY IS INTERESTED TO TAKE NOTE OF SUCH GENUINE GRIEVANCES.
