I had got painting work done in August 2021 through Urban Company, and I was told repeatedly by the visiting professional as well as on the app that I have 1 year warranty on the painting job, paint cracked in less than a month and I asked for a follow up visit the professional who was sent hurried the work and did not give sufficient time for plaster to dry, he infact took my blowdryer to artificially dry it, it puffed up within a day and cracked again in few weeks. At no time did my app or anybody from urban company, nor the visiting professional said that rework is not part of warranty or that immediate complain has to be filed about rework, he infact indicated that work done on my roof will crack too and I will have to file for re-work again.
Due to family emergency, travel and work I had to wait before I could file a service complaint, also I was made to believe that 1 Year warranty will be honoured, and was never given any information AT ALL about not fixing the problem. You cannot replace a defected piece with a defected piece and call it fair trade.
I have deliberately been kept in the dark about the lack of warranty on re-work, no intimation at all was given in any way, neither in word or writing, about different standards for poor re-work service, I have been given poor service along with poor materials, deliberately to reduce cost and increase profit.
I have been using Urban Company for years now and feel ashamed at being conned by them, I should have gone to a local dealer who wouldn't blatantly lie about giving 1 year warranty and then dishonour it. After I called the customer care they rudely refused to fix their service failure
I was never told in word or writing about warranty on rework, and suddenly when I demand that damage that is under warranty be fixed I have been told that it is too late. You cannot make up terms post offering service when you say 1 year warranty at the time of service. I have received the same shameful email from them lying about having transparent warranty terms on rework without any proof that I was informed about it!
I want them to honour the terms of service mentioned at the time of taking money for my service. The Urban Company customer service agent shamefully said that I have got re-work done at their cost! I paid around 13000 rupees to get 1 room painted, I paid for all materials that were used in painting and rework. Only 1 man was sent to fix the damage that is hardly 15 mins work and I tipped him 500 rs, my time was wasted twice because of bad service.
How can they even claim that they have done any more than what they are supposed to, when they are cheating customers they have made so much money from!
