Urban Company Good Only For Cleaning Toilets, not for ACs or Other Expensive Electronics
A week ago on I had scheduled Urban Company for servicing my 2 ACs. My AC was cooling fine and they just needed cleaning for better air throw maybe. But it was cooling very efficiently.
I had scheduled 2 Deep Cleaning Services ONLY separately a day apart from each other. The first one was scheduled on 26th April at around 4 PM and the second one was scheduled on 27th April, around 10 AM.
On April 26th, the first technician came on and after initial checking told me that there was no gas in the outdoor unit. When I told him that my AC is cooling fine how come it can do so without gas in it. Then he showed the gas pressure was 60psi with his pressure gauge. Can't believe the AC was still cooling fine WITH 60psi gas in it. After the cleaning service was done I asked him about the gas filling cost to which he said that it will cost Rs. 1500 if I do it through him offline, and will cost Rs. 2500 if I book on the UC app. That surprised me and created doubt about the technician as he was selling offline service and was not even respecting that it was UC that was giving him work. To verify his claim further, I then asked him to compare the pressure reading with the 2nd AC unit. He checked and showed me that the second outdoor unit was good and the pressure was 140 psi.
All fine till now... I waited for the next day to get his claim verified with 2nd UC professional. Now the problem starts...
On 27th April morning when the 2nd technician arrived to service the 2nd AC, he didn't even touch my work and told me that there was no gas in my outdoor unit and that it was leaking ( for the same AC which read 140psi on the previous day).
I explained him surprisingly that the same AC was checked by UC professional yesterday and it read 140 PSi, how can it be 60psi now? He checked both the ACs and told me that both the ACs had no gas and there was ice formation on the gas mouth which was a visible sign of low gas. He asked me to get the problem resolved and reschedule the job. My AC which was cooling fine till the previous day had stopped cooling efficiently by now.
On 27th April, around 11 AM, I complained to the UC customer care team to which they sent a senior technician and the first technician to revisit. The 3rd technician who was sent as a Senior SME visit by UC too did not work on it and said that both the ACs has visible signs of ice formation and that he can't work without resolving the issues. Meanwhile, UC sent the first technician who created all this mess for a revisit. He came, he checked and he went. His pressure gauge this time read 100psi for both the ACs.. I wonder what happened to other technicians' pressure gauges then. He too was surprised by his new reading. All professionals gave different readings for the same AC Outdoor Units.
Now the actual irresponsible act o[censored]rban Company comes to the forefront.
I raised my issue on the 27th of April, around 11 AM. From then till now, UC is not able to resolve my problem. They keep on calling and calling and calling but without solving the problem. Finally, on 30th April at 17:32 they provided a resolution that they will fill gas for 1 AC only and the gas for the 2nd AC will have to be filled on my own expenditure with no fault of mine. Even for that, they have not assigned any professional yet nor did they give me any date. They aren't sending me any written communication which I have asked for multiple times, about their half resolution to the problem which was created by their professional. They are just collecting my email id and saying will send an email in the next 24 - 48 hours but the email never came. They took my email 3 times but did not send me any communication from their end. On top of it, every time a new professional calls me without having a knowledge of the issue to whom I need to re-explain the issue again and again.. End result is that now my both the rooms are without any ACs for the last 6 days in this hot weather. I have a serious cancer patient at home and a small baby and their discomfort is becoming an even bigger issue. However, UC does not show any keenness to resolve the problem with priority and empathy.
Urban Company and its professional was responsible to tweak my good working AC's gas, so that they can make more money out of it. Not only that! They are now even wasting my time in having to explain the issue again and again to their customer care agents which again is not just a waste of time and money, but also raises agony and deteriorates mental health. I am finally writing it and escalating it further to find a resolution to the problem created by their unprofessional technician whom they call Partners. if you call them Partners, be responsible for their actions as well. not just earn commission from them.
Having learnt the lesson the hard way, next time I shall be more careful and will use and recommend Urban Company's service only to clean toilets. Don't allow them to touch your expensive electronics.
I accuse Urban Company of damaging my ACs 2 outdoor units and leaking gas in order to loot more revenue. Urban Company's unprofessional technician did this so that he could sell more offline services to me. 2 of the Urban Company's technicians who came later refused to service my AC citing damaged outdoor units and gas leakage. My AC is not serviced yet and neither is the gas being refilled. It's been over 9 days since I last complained about it. No resolution yet.
Their technicians have touched, opened and worked on both the AC Outdoor units leaking both of them. Their technician suggested me not run my AC as the compressor might get damaged. I could never imagine such a dreaded experience for just booking an AC deep cleaning service.
