Sir,
HSBC card No- [protected] was issued to me in July'05.
At the time of issuing, I was told that this card was free of charges .
I NEVER USED this card.
This card was cancelled in Aug/06 by the Bank.
I cut the card into four pieces and dropped it into HSBC drop box in Oct'06.
In Sep'08 I received a call from the bank to pay Rs.14000/- as outstanding.
I contacted Customer Care who confirmed that this card was NEVER USED but they were unable to tell the reason for outstanding.
I received a bill with outstanding of Rs.20457.45 in July'09.
I had correspondence with Mr. K.C.Mahesh and Ms. Sathya Srinivasan at Chennai who gave me a number of debt management official[protected].
I contacted there who gave me another numbers[protected]/611/622/629), but all numbers are found not existing.
Now I am submitting this on the site with the hope to solve the problem and cancel the amount wrongly debited against me.
Thanks.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a HSBC classic card holder. My account no is [protected] & my card no is [protected].

Some person named Manish from delhi called up & told me to settle the card. He send me the settlement letter of RS. 22,000/-. I have settled the same in three installments as he asked for. I have all the required documents. I have given my last installment in April 09. That time manish told me that he will send me the closing letter in three days after my last payment. But still I am getting my statements. so I called up on the same number which Manish has given me; but now he is not there & nobody is co-oprating.

Till now three person called up & asked for the settlement. Now what should I do. Shall I register a police complaint against HSBC??
    HERE is also same problem
they r saying about below things
that the executive has left the job / if you have not settlement letter than you haven`t settled your credit card payment / you have to pay outstanding which is balance in our system

first I was so much afraid but after all this they have teched me how to handle all this
I also said to them that please do legal process against me and I will answer you in court but they didn`t done nothing and harassing me as continuously...

    so what should I Do?
    nothing
because all act(s) are made only for them not for Indian people
    so don`t worry
    do that what they saying.
    we have no ways...

I am a resident of Chennai and a credit card holder of HSBC Classic visa card. I was levied some charge of membership fee which went up to Rs. 2150 and i was asked to pay the amount by 28th of august. I dropped a cheque for the same amount on 27th august in the ATM drop box of HSBC bank in adyar. I received a message from their service providers skypak saying that the cheque was cleared on 7th September by then the HSBC people have already laid some 500 rs charge as late payment charges and when i call the hsbc customer care they say they havent got any information in their system regarding the cheque and i am receiving messages from them saying that they have referred me to the nonpayment or defaulters list due to non payment of my credit card amount and legal action will be taken by the bank. I dont know what action should i take upon this bank.

visa card — reg credit card payment -non clearance

I am K.Kalyanaraman SBI Credit Card ([protected]) holder. I have dropped ING VYSYA Cheque of Rs.2000/= for September month payment at your SBI Guindy Branch Drop Box on[protected] cheque no 678481 dated[protected]. I have already complained about this matter on[protected] but no response till date. The complaint no is- MQ[protected]. As I have already dropped my cheque in your drop box, no late fee payment / overlimit charges should be charged in my account. Please waive off the charges if you have charged. I cannot accept for the above charges as I have paid the amount promptly before the due date. Till date the amount is not debited from my account. I have not received the September month statement till date.

I have nothing to say about the complaint, but Im appalled at how anyone would want to publish their credit card numbers on the internet. As it is, credit card frauds are on the rise, with everyone openly putting their card numbers on a forum like this, it just makes the perp's work that much easier!
      Late clearance of payment cheques
I am a resident of Pune and a credit card holder of HSBC Classic visa card. I made a request to Close my Credit card account via Phone to Call Centre Executive, the executive told me that you have to pay some Rs 790.00 to settle the account. And I paid the amount, but the at the same time HSBC has stopped my Online Account of Credit Card so I was unable to Check the status and they put some late fees charges and they start deducting the minimum amount from my HSBC Saving Bank Account. When the Amount is finished from in the Bank then they start calling to My Home Address for the amount Due on my card. Now the Amount reached to around 10000.00 and they also put the Credit Card Yearly Charges when I call to HSBC customer Care they told me that I have to that much amount to setlly My Account and saying that they have referred me to the nonpayment or defaulters list due to non payment of my credit card amount and legal action will be taken by the bank. I dont know what action should i take upon this bank.

              Total less paid Rs. 4,334.07

              3. In the month of Februaryl,2007, in view of higher rate of interest being offered by HSBC for FD A/C, we wanted to open a FD A/C and accordingly, Mr.Ravi Maheswari called us on in our house and as per his statement a FD for Rs. 40,000/- was opened for One year with interest @ Rs.8.75% PA. No reference of opening any connected savings A/C (SB)or Power advantage(PA)/smart account(SA) was made. On getting the Term Deposit statement, it was revealed that the interest was 8% and not 8.75% as communicated by Mr.Maheswari. Again the same statement did not mention anything about SB/PA or SA. About a month later, it came to our notice that HSBC had increased the rate of interest to 9.75% and the previous FD was switched out to a new FD for 731 days. We opened another three FDs in the name of my daughters, Ms. Priyanka Pal (Two FD of Rs.50,000/- each and Ms. Piyali Pal for Rs.50,000/-) No reference, whatsoever, was made about SB/PA or SA neither the necessity of maintaining any AQB was mentioned nor any papers were given to that effect.

              4. Sometimes, in the month of May,2008, we were informed that penalty was applicable for the accounts where minimum balance fell below Rs.1,00,000/- Immediately, we lodged our protest in writing to refrain from levying any penalty as maintenance of AQB could not form a condition for opening any FD and prayed for the waiver of penalty on account of not maintaining AQB. It was the official of HSBC who wrongly induced us to open the accounts on many false assurances and won our confidence to settle the issues pertaining to AQB and Income Tax. However, to our utter shock and dismay, HSBC has deducted AQB from the A/C o[censored]ndersigned and Ms. Piyali Pal. If the fact of maintaining AQB was made a condition precedent to opening such A/Cs, we were not that fool to spilt the fund to open two separate accounts to invite the provision of AQB. As if this was not enough- in every month. Some amount was deducted from all these A/Cs for unclarified reason. When I wanted to know from Mr. Ravi if it was the policy of HSBC to fleece its customers of the amount earned as interest-he only smilingly assured of doing the needful. For your information, we have been writing to [protected]@hsbc.co.in since last months without any proper reply being tendered.

              5. By means of this mail, I want to bring it to the notice of your Nodal Officer the following losses that has been caused to us :

              i) When written requests were placed well in advance on 09 Apr 09 with the branch to close the A/Cs on the date of maturity and send the proceeds in the form of draft/cheque payable to our respective A/C No., why such instructions were ignored and we were not kept informed of the reason of so doing.

ii) In the particular case of my daughter, Ms. Priyanka Pal the A/Cs were not closed even after giving second written instruction on 04May09 and we had to visit your branch for the third time on May 15,2009 for closing these A/Cs .When no interest was paid for the period (from 15 April,2009 to 18May,2009) the amount was held back against our wishes. HSBC has even gone on to deduct an amount of Rs. 5.12 as interest on 01 May 09 when the amount was held back illegally

              .

iii) When Form 15G were submitted for the AY[protected] and[protected], why IT was deducted at source. Moreover, why IT deduction of Rs. 90/-has been made vide Composite statement dated 31/05/2007 in respect of my account in spite of having a deposit of only Rs. 40,000/- for about 100 days when the threshold amount of interest for TDS was Rs.5,000/-

iv) The deductions on account of AQB and intangible and non-existent overdrafts were not part of our contract and it was never communicated to us while opening the a/c.

              v) and lastly, the offer of HSBC to provide tea coasters and mobile stands for furnishing our email ID and Cell No. has turned out to be a fake one although the receipt of the information was confirmed by your officials over phone and the items have not been received so far.

              6. Under the circumstances, you are requested to kindly look into the whole issue from the perspective of a customer vis-à-vis the role of your official, Mr. Ravi Maheswari played in keeping the customer uninformed of the rules of FD peculiar to HSBC and arrange to refund the loss of Rs.4,334.07 so inflicted through the malicious action of Mr. Ravi who should personally be held responsible for his acts of omission and commission for bringing this bad repute to your otherwise illustrious company. You will certainly agree with me that no one puts his hard earned money in a Bank to suffer loss in this way.

Looking forward to your favourable action before contemplating my next course of action. Please be informed that henceforth my husband, Mr.H.Pal will have the absolute authority on behalf of myself and my daughters to pursue the matter and you talk to him as well.

              Thanking you,

              Mrs Mamata Pal

HSBC Bank — Interest on deducted amount

              Dear Sir/Madam,
I was taken the Personal Loan from HSBC bank, which I was closed on 7/10/2009.The EMI for the OCT month deducted from my account (HDFC bank) on 10/10/2009 after closing the loan. When I was closed the loan at that time HSBC bank taken the interest on the amount from me for the days required for completion the process. But the ECS amount deducted from my account was submitted by HSBC after 25 days.

The question is this the bank can take the interest for the days required to close the loan, but bank cann't give the the interest on the amount deducted from my account.I was discussed with RBI but there is no response from anyone.

Hope that you will raise the same issue with HSBC and will do needful for the same.I hope that the interest for 25 days will get to me from HSBC bank.

HSBC — interest amount is not given

I recently paid the minimum amount due on my credit card bearing no- [protected]
.I called the customer care to know the interest amount that would be charged if paid the outstanding amount within 4 days so that i could pay the total amount including interest at one go. But, they are saying they would not be able to provide this.

I have one HSBC spencers gold credit card, initially I used this card for several purchasing but after using one month I never received the bill. I made several complains and finally got a old bill with addition of several penalty charges for late payment. I paid once and thought things will be fine, but not, it's their tendency to send bill with one month late just to charge huge penalty. I have alrdy stopped using the card but the old bill amount, which I still yet to recv. I tried customer care several times but no result. I will suggest everyone not to go for any HSBC product, they are defaulting with the customers. The most irretating thing is that, once ur bill is generated, u will start recving so many miss calls in ur mobile from HSBC cust care, approx 15 miss calls per day, when I call back they said this are automated calls. I have used credit cards for many banks, but HSBC has the wrost service out of all.

The people calls at all odd time and shout & abuse my wife above that they have started calling my neighbors house asking for my wife, don’t know how they got my neighbours nos. They also send people at my house who threathens my wife of dire consequences . She is going through a real nightmare & very much disturbed. This is one of the funniest charge I have ever seen in my many years of banking experience. I was charged 827.25 for not maintaining balances in Jan-March'09 when I open an account in Augest'09. I am following up with the bank to ensure it gets corrected quickly and properly. And will update this forum once done.
Pl.call on my cell [protected] to discuss the issues related to Credit Card payment.

                    HSBC — False charges

I was sent a legal notice by inflating the charges of what was shown in the recent statement. The charges anyways are all financial charges and are false. They double the charges in the legal letter when the charges as shown in the statement are just half of the above. Pl. arrange to wauve these charges from HSBC gold card

                      Sir,
This is to bring to your kind notice an instance of the
unethical and unfair trade practice of the HSBC Bank in India.
I had opened an ordinary Savings A/C No.[protected] with the Bank in
                      Kolkata a few years ago.
However, the Bank had unilaterally upgraded it to a Power Vantage A/C
                      without my explicit approval.
Now, on July 29, they debited my A/C for Rs. 827.25 for
non-maintenance of AQB of Rs. 100000/- when it is actually Rs. 25000/-
as per their list of Serv. Charges for an Ordinary Savings A/C, which
                      I have always maintained.
When I wrote to the Bank via e-mail about the above, they stated that
since I had used their new Debit Card, the Serv. Ch. debited could not
                      be reversed.
But, the fact is that they sent me the new Debit Card stating that the
new Card was being sent because the Bank endeavoured to serve its
clients in a better way and bring more advantages to them.
Moreover, the card does not bear any mention of the term ‘Power
Vantage’ and I was never informed about the change in the AQB I am
                      supposed to maintain.

In the light of the above I hereby request you to kindly do the
needful so that private Banks in India do business in a transparent
                      and lawful way.

                      Thanking you.

                      Yours truly,

                        Dear Sirs,
I am using your card for the past 10 years (approx).
I have no habit of paying panalties or EMI s. I use the card always as a convenience of payment. I never have drawn cash on your card. During the past years other BANKS are also offering the cards with better limits and charging no ANNUAL FEE, for the life time.
I would like to know whether you are in position to extend the concession to me ? if not I would like to surrender the card, as I am already holding GLOBAL corporate card.
I look forward to your early reply.
                        Thanking you,

I, dr. kanchan kapur, have used a credit card of HSBC bank for which a bill was raised by them for INR 6900.04 in 2007. I paid them the bill and fully settled the amount due to them. To my surprise, bank kept on sending me the bills without taking note of the above said payment by showing it due and as on date the total amount is INR 27000/- as per their bills. To my surprise, I started get threatning calls and sms from the collection agency, which I became used to after spending few sleepless nights. The final shock was yet to arrive in the form of filing a bad report in the CIBIL for my non payment which I took seriously as I was being refused some loan for my personal use. Despite my repeated mails and direct discussions with the bank, I am still receiving the mails and sms, which accordingly deprive me of my basic rights to live as a law abiding citizen of india who is fighting at own being widow and four children to support with limited resources. I would request the competent authority or the concerned bank to wake up and act accordingly instead of giving me sugar coated corporate answers as I am unable to cope with the mounting pressure.

I have used HSBC credit card online for Makemytrip.com for an amount of 5000/- RS but the makemytrip.com wrongly charged me 5000+60, 000. And the same was intimated to HSBC before the stipulated time. And HSBC customer care asked me to pay 5000/-Rs and that they will recover from the client. It took them 6months to recover from makemytrip.com. HSBC recovered the complete 60, 000 from makemytrip.com. And the 5000 was paid in time with HDFC cheque.

BUT now HSBC is still charging me to pay the finance charges and interest charges along with overdraft charges.

Firstly, I did not use the amount
Second, I paid the amount i used

When i ask HSBC through email they say to register in their online banking and raise request. When i go to online registration they ask me CC num and its pin. The pin i do not have and if i ask for it they are asking me to pay the amount and then they will give me the pin.

Why should i pay for the amount which i did not use???

                              Hi,

My HSBC Credit card no. [protected] with the card name of Parameswaran Pillai has been charged for a DD for balance transfer that I had not asked for. Along with that I have written to the bank and followed up with the bank for 8 months, but nothing has happened to this .

They have finally reversed the DD Taken issues in November 2007, that I had not asked for 1 month back but have not reverse the interest on the same. I have been harassed mentally on this issue by their collection team. Finally they have asked me to close this card. I have been harassed so much that I am closing this card.

If there is any SIBIL consequences to this the bank is liable, My payment history have been perfect until I filled a indemnity for the DD. I had taken the stance that I shall pay for the amount that I am liable to pay and not for the amount where the bank has cheated and charged me upon.

I hold a NRE account with HSBC Bank, M G Road Bangalore. Few days back I issued a cheque for an impotant deal and the cheque was rejected beacuse my signatures were not availbale with HSBC.

I am fined becasue my cheque was not cleared and this is solely due HSBC bank mistake that my signatures were not scanned and uploaded.

How can a bank issue a cheque book or create an account without the account holder's signatures? I need compensation for loss of time and money I have incurred.

                                Dear Amol,

I can do nothing but agree with you on the incompetency of HSBC Bangalore.

I hold, what they call, a Premier account. I believe the service should also be of "Premier" quality but all i get is evidence of their lethargy!!

For every 5-6 mails i send, I am lucky if i get one single response! In the last week I got a generic mail asking me to send a self attested copy of my PAN card copy to HSBC with a lead time of 3 days. All this was provided to HSBC at the time of account opening, which they have obviously failed to upload. I have also given it to them physically during the last year and they seem to have lost it again. I have mails backed up to confirm that they will be liable for any charges that may be applied to my account to pay for their incompetence.

They even rejected a cheque just because it was short of 15KINR in the cash account. This also happened because one of my SIP's went out a day or so before! BUT- could they not intimate me before returning the cheque?? i had over 10 lacs in mutual fund deposits with them at the time!!!

                                Frustrated

From last three years I have been paying my IDBI home loan through cheque's from my savings account held with HSBC but for this current month August, I had a cheque "156601" bounced back for mismatch of signature. I was charged with amount Rs.280 extra from IDBI towards the cheque bounce as they inturn were charged by HSBC for the same.

There was no prior contact from HSBC bank before proceeding with cheque bounce due to mismatch of signatures.

Many of my friends have similar experiance with the bank HSBC. Thanks

I would like to make every Customer aware of the Strategy and conspiricy of HSBC Bank to loot customer money.

I recently got a statement from the bank where they have levied a Over limit fees of 500 Rs. Surprisingly they over limit the Card for 400 and Levied a Fees of 500. I have found that they are deliveratly doing so.

Let me explain. If they are having one crore Custmors and they give them limite of 400 each they earn 500 crore easily every month. Beware of this company and tell every Body of this Fraud. They will not easily reverse these charges.

I deposited a Demand Draft (DD) drawn on Desutsche Bank, Pune Branch on August 17, 2009 into my savings account with HSBC, Pune main branch.

The officer accepting the DD assured me that the DD would be deposited into my account on August 20, 2009 by evening. (This was due to a Bank Holiday on August 19, 2009.)

I visited the branch on August 20, 2009 since the amount of the DD did not appear into my "Funds in clearing" on August 18 or even on August 20. However, the officer I met with gave me assurance that I should wait till the evening of August 20, 2009. Finally, when the DD did not appear in "Funds in clearing" on the morning of August 21, 2009, I visited the branch once again. The officer I met with was a more sensible person as she checked with their clearing department and found out tthat the bank had misplaced/torn the Deposit Slip attached with the DD and hennce did not know as to which account it should be credited to. She told the account no. over telephone to the clearing department and assured me that the amount would be available for me to use on August 22, 2009 by evening.

Actully, the amount got credited to my account only by midnight of August 22, 2009.

I want to ask HSBC Ltd. as to how they are going to compensate me for the delay in clearing the amount to me.

                                        Dear Sir,

This w.r.t my HSBC credit card# [protected]. I was using this card
from[protected]. In October, 2006 I paid my credit card bill and didn't use
the card there after. Now I applied for a home loan and came to know from
the bank that in my CIBIL report an amount of Rs. 48, 000/- is showing as
overdue against that credit card. When I contacted HSBC customer care, they
informed me that the last payment I made was late so they added a late
charge on that and they added subsequent finance charges on that late charge
and arrived at the current outstsnding amount.

Now, my concern is why should I pay Rs. 48, 000/- to HSBC using doing any
                                        spending using their credit card?

I sincerely request you to help me with this fraud by the bank.

                                        Yours truely,

When i request to HSBC executive then he just simply denied the things and thretened me that if i dont make the payment then i need to face the legal action.

Now wha I need to do? wether I should make the full payment or only purchase. plz guide. and also about wether i should use the same card or not?

                                        Sir,
I had applied for a credit card through one of your DSA some 15 days back by submitting all the necessary documents.

For your reference, my date of birth is 17/04/1959 and PAN No. is AOAPS7304H and my address is 48, Basera 2nd. floor, Gavthan Lane 4, J.P. Road, Andheri (w), Mumbai 400058.

Though I recieved the card through the courier service, but I have not accepted the credit card and returned the same because instead of Bashir Nazir Shaikh, the name written on the card is Nasir Bashir Shaikh which is not correct. I think the details were not entered properly by the DSA executive.

Is it possible for your bank to change the name as has been mentioned on the card. Or kindly inform me like what will be procedure of changing the name.

                                        Thanking you,
