I have booked my bike to parcel office kalyan on 19/06/2012 to akola station i did all formalities like documentation and fees, that officer commit me that you will get it after 3 days, and he asked for extra money but i refuse his demand and paid only govt fees, but still i have not received yet. my name is Pavan Deshmukh from akola the receipt no is C700390.
parcel of Bajaj Pulser bikr from Kalyan to Akola.
Please help me......

I willing to do strict action against this corrupted employees of Railway dept. they are relay very corrupted.

    I have done my reservation of NDLS RNC GRATH EXPRESS (12878) of
    4th JULY from the Ranchi station Window ticket counter. Right now I
    am in Panipat and I have to cancel this

    NDLS RNC G RATH window ticket from the Panipat station which I have
    booked from Ranchi window ticket counter. Is it possible to cancel the
    ticket issued by the Ranchi Window ticket counter in Panipat .
    Please provide me the details along with the cost of cancellation.

    You can cancel any ticket booked across any counter throughout the country.
    Exception : Tatkal tkt cannot be cancelled anywhere. Once booked its for all.

      I am writing this mail with great regret .As I got a very raw deal from one TTE of eastern railways which I find utter

      humiliating .Kindly bear with me & go through the mail & have a reality check .On 14th June ,12 morning I intend to

      travel from jamshedpur to kolkata through steel express (12814) . As reservation was not available I took a general

      ticket on morning 5.34 am .But incidentally am unable to board on Steel express which departed Tata nagar on scheduled

      departure time of 06.15 am .Actually I was feeling sick for past few days & that is why going to kolkata for medical

      consultation as kolkata is my home town & my parents live there .Right after boarding Steel express I felt dizziness

      so decided to seat on the platform premises & let go the Steel Express .I was was sitting there for almost two hours

      some onlookers offered me water & help .After feeling better I boarded on Gitanjali Express (12859) but on sleeper

      compartment .I was willing to pay the balance fair but have not find any TTE in vicinity .Now after Chakulia station

      a group of TTE boarded on that compartment & asked me for ticket .After seen my general ticket they said I have to

      pay fine & they charged Rs.314 but unfortunately that time I was carrying only Rs.295 .Which they almost snatched from

      my hand .They forcefully taken my wallet & started searching for money .When I protested One of the TTE named Mr.M R

      Rao (Employee Id[protected]literally abused me & use filthy language against me in Hindi (M***** C***) in front of the

      all commuters .Was he has the right to behave like that??? After that I have to accompany them till they got another case

      like me & after few compartment they got one person who don't have the express ticket .In same way they taken Rs.250 from

      him & issued an accumulated receipt of Rs.314 for both o[censored]s & hand over it to me & told both o[censored]s to shift to general

      compartment immediately .Trust me sir it was a horrendous experience .I was drained physically as well mentally after got

      these kind of treatment which was totally unwarranted .

      Kindly look into the matter & do the needful to mend the behavior of this kinda employee as its really counts .I send this

      mail as an eye opener .

      Indian Railways — misbehave by TTE

      I was travelling on 16/12/08 by train no. 5609 in ac 2 tier from Katihar to Muzaffarpur, seat no. 37.
      TTE had misbehaved with me when Bihpur station was passing by due to seat problem, he shauted very badly and tried to hit me. Being a railway official...he must has some manners...
      I request to railway official to take necessary action against him.
      Dear Sir,

      I had been to Orissa on the 13th of December and returned back to Kolkata on the 21st of December and am forced to write you this letter for the situation that we faced.

      This is my fifth trip to Orissa and I have never faced a situation like this before and am quite appalled at the lack of customer service and friendliness of the railway police and TT.

      We were traveling in a group of four all of whom are women. Two of them were senior citizens, one of 18 years and myself 34 years. Our return ticker for the 21st were RAC at the time of booking and on approaching station on the 21st we visited the Collectors office to get the confirmation of our Coach and seat numbers. The Collector wrote on the ticket providing the coach number as SE II and seat numbers as 7, 8, 15 and 16.

      The train Jagannath Express was late and came to the platform at around 11.05 pm. We ran helter and skelter but could not find the coach SE II written on any of the coaches nor did the computer signs which glows the coach number reflected any coach number adjacent to the train. I asked one of the Railway police to guide us and he was in a hurry to brush me off and said that SE is II is probably S 2 and I might as well get going in that coach. Traveling with elders who cant move as swiftly as us we had no other option to board a coach. Fellow traveler helped us to board with our elderly aunts and offered his seat to my aunts while I left to search for the T.T. I found him and if I am not wrong his name is Mr. S.C. Mishra. The T.T. told me that he cannot exactly say where the extra coach is and I might as well go searching for the extra bogy in descending order. I told him that if I cant reach the specified bogy if the door is closed can he help us in getting on the right coach? To which he replied that we can do so in the next stop but refused any assistance even after telling him that we have two elderly people with us. Thankfully another fellow passenger helped us to locate our seat. He too told us that he was equally puzzled to locate his seat as nobody could help him.

      My point is that people employed by railway and stationed at the railway stations should be friendly and helpful. That is integral to traveling and gives a huge impetus to travelers. I have an immense liking to wards Puri and would again come next year but as a lover of Puri it is my humble suggestion that please impress on the people who are related to tourism, that it should be customer friendly. I hope that I or any fellow passengers do not face what we faced.

      Railways — tte misbehavior

      I was traveling from kolkata to sambalpur trian no. 8005 dated 16th feb 2009.
      my reservation was confirmed from wl 1. I reached the station a bit late but any how i was able to catch the train. I was in sk2 and asked the TTE about my status .. That told me that I am not carrying the list very rudely. How I managed to come to my place I now. I asked him for the complaint book but he denied.I think he was drunk ... any how i managed to get a seat and slept. morning i realised that no one had bothered to come to check the ticket.. there type of anti social elements should be kicked out of the job.

      Indian Railways — Misbehavior by TTE

      Complaint about the misbehavior of TTE - Mr. N.Devasundaram, Deputy CTA, Erode

      I am a doctor practicing in Kochi. I had to travel by the Nagore Express from Ernakulam Jn. to Ottapalam on 29th. May 2010 for an emergency purpose. Since it was an emergency, I could not book my berth in advance. However, on suggestion from the Railway enquiry, I bought a regular ticket to Ottapalam and decided to try my luck of getting a berth with the TTE. I boarded the S2 coach and sat beside the Police constable who was the security in charge in the train. The constable reassured me that there were berths available and that I need not board the general unreserved coach. The train soon left the station and started moving at high speeds.

      The TTE Mr. N. Devasundaram reported for his routine check whereupon I requested him to allot me a berth, if possible. He said it was not possible at all and that I should try my luck in the AC coach. He also added that I should leave the coach immediately. I walked up to the AC coach only to be told by the TTE there that there was no berth available in the AC coach too. I walked back and requested the TTE Mr. Devasundaram to somehow allot me a seat till Ottapalam. He retorted very rudely and asked me to go out of the compartment. I walked ahead and sat in one of the vacant seats in the S2 coach, waiting to alight when the train stopped next, to go to the unreserved compartment, as there is no connection of the rest of the compartments with the unreserved coaches. This was when the TTE approached me again. He was very rude. He asked me to go out of the coach. I asked him how I could get out of the coach when the train was moving. He did not have the patience to listen to me, but told me that I should not be seen next time he comes that way. I walked along the aisle and stayed close to the door to alight and get into the unreserved compartment when the train stops at the next station. Soon afterwards, the TTE came up again with a shower of abuses. He threatened to impose a fine on me... I asked him to fine me immediately. I produced my ticket and told him that I'm a person who obeys laws of the land that I was only happy to pay a fine as I had erred by entering a reserved coach without a reservation. He fined me. Now, I requested him to be a little more polite with passengers... he started abusing me... I asked him his name and designation when he flew up in a big rage and continued hurling abuses... and that he is willing to fight a case upto the Supreme court if I'm to face him legally. He asked me to get out of the apartment immediately. I told him that I'll take this case of misbehavior with the concerned authorities... I got out of the compartment at the next station and continued my journey in the unreserved compartment.

      As a patriotic Indian, I feel depressed when I think of such arrogant public servants... It is a disgrace for the country as well as the organization to have such people on rolls... they should be taken to task and reprimanded for their improper behavior. I fervently hope some authority in the Indian Railway sees this posting and takes appropriate steps against this extremely arrogant railway employee Mr. N. Devasundaram, Deputy CTA, Erode.

        I would like to bring this to your kind attention that there is something wrong happening at Indian Railways. Through this in front of each and every medium I would like to bring the wrong doings of Indian railway one. I had booked four Tickets on 31st May through www.irctc.co.in. Here are the booking details:
        PNR No : [protected]
        Journey Date : 28th June 2012 Time: 8:40 PM
        Train No : 12562
        Boarding Station : New Delhi Railway Station
        Destination Station : Samastipur
        I have to travel because my wife has an exam for her MBA from XLRI on 1st of July in Patna, Fraser Road and We have to attend my mother’s retirement function at Pusa University, Pusa (Bihar). I hope the need for travel can be understood very clearly. When I booked the tickets i.e. on 31st May status of the tickets was WL-1, WL-2, WL-3, WL-4. Status of all the 4 tickets was changed to CNF from 20th June onwards. I was relaxed that my tickets are confirmed. On travel date i.e. on 28th June 2012 I looged in to irctc.co.in website to check the seat numbers before leaving for the station I was surprised to see that my Tickets which were shown as confirmed for last 8- 10 days were again showing status as WL-3, WL-4, WL-5 and WL-6. I called up 139 and asked them about the reasons initially they were not able to answer anything and when I insisted on knowing the reason they mentioned that they have reduced the number of coaches. I asked them about the reasons they do not have any. I asked them why they have not informed us about the same they did not have answer for the same as well. When asked them what arrangements they have made for such cancellations, they said they do not have an answer. On asking whom should we contact for the same they ask us to contact chief reservation officer who sits in New Delhi Railway station at Reservation counter. We reach the station and found that the Reservation officer does not sits in the Railway Station but outside Railway station in Passenger Reservation center Paharganj. We rushed towards the reservation center and found that he has left for the day. We contacted some people over there in charting department they mentioned that it is confidential but since we are here they told us the reason is (a small coach sent in place of the big coach) and hence some seats which were confirmed were cancelled. When asked why passengers were not informed they were also clueless. They ask us to contact Station Manager as they cannot help us. We somehow again rushed back to the station but could not find the Station Manager over there. Station superintendent ask us write down the complaint we did that and the complaint No for the same is “058”. We checked with TTE about the same, we were surprised to find that our names were completely missing from the chart he was carrying. Our names were not there even in the waiting Lists chart he was carrying. We checked in his chart and found that the PNR numbers of the waiting List people were after our PNR number were missing completely. There was one more family on the station who was in similar situation and their PNR number was [protected].
        I would like to get the answers to following questions
        How come the Status of Tickets got reversed?
        Why our PNR number got missing from the Charts?
        Why we were not being informed about the cancellation?
        Who is going to pay for the discomforts caused? We spent money in travelling to and fro from the Station to Home and wasted our time and energy going calling one officer to another.
        Why arrangements were not done by Indian railways if fault was at their end?
        One important thing we booked our tickets in one month advance, railways used our money for complete one month charged service charges etc over it for providing us such kind of services. This is just one ticket imagine that each and every ticket is been booked in advance and out of it so many were not confirmed can you calculate the amount of money every day Railways is earning on behalf of service charges for non confirmed tickets?

          Respected sir,
          my parents were travelling from thiruvananthapuram to banglore in Banglore express on 13/06/2012.The train no:16322,PNR no:[protected],passengers were-V.Radhakrishnan Nair& J.Suseela Devi.They were travelling in B223SL &B218MB.On 14/06/2012 nearly at 4am they noticed that there hand bag was missing.They immediately reported to the TTR in charge.A quick search was conducted with no results.After about 10 minutes a bed maker informed that a hand bag was found in the near by compartment.The hand bag was that of my parents but the jewellery of about 60 gms &1000rupees was missing.A complaint form was filled and handed over to the TTR to file the case at central majestic station.My parents could not accompany the TTR as my mother is a sick person.They alighted at KR puram station.My parents are sure that nothing solid would happen without knowing the details of theif.My father is having a assumption that since the bag was left in the train the theif would most probably in the train itself,otherwise the theif could have left the whole thing outside on his way.My father request the railway police to make a enquiry on the concerned bogeis bed maker as he was the one who accompanied my parents through out the incident & first informed about the bag in the next compartment.We pray sorry if our intusions are wrong but we cannot miss aprobablity like that. There will be no use in questioning the person but a seceret watch on the person can help.If the person is innocent this seceret enquiry will not hurt him.If this type of investigation turns out to be fruitful then railway can to certain extent prevent such robberies in train making Indian railways reaching new heights.I would kindly request you to consider our suggestions with atmost importance.

          railways complaint — complaint for theft of bag

          Sub: Complaint for theft of bag containing foreign currencies at H.Nizammuddin Raiway Station.
          Dear Sir,
          I lost my bag containing a sum o[censored]S$ 500, AUS$ 1800 and a wrist watch when I was trying to board Goa Express (Tr. No.2870) on 17/12/2009 at 2.30 PM at Haz. Nizammuddin Station, New Delhi. Since I could not notice this loss at that very moment, I could not lodge the FIR there at H. Nizammuddin Police Station itself immediately. The only option left was that I could lodge my complaint i.e. via e-mail only.
          I therefore, request you that in case, any such person changing the currency etc. comes to your knowledge, kindly do the needful and inform on the above mail.

          I, my wife and daughter (PNR [protected]) boarded Vibhuti Express (12334) from Varanasi on 2nd June 2012 at 18.10 hours. At around 4.00 am on 3rd June 2012 at Jasidih (Jharkhand), my red trolley bag (Brand: Novex) was stolen, which contained 15 sets of pants and shirts, 3 sets of Salwar Kameez, digital camera (Coolpix, Nikon), pen drive (Kingston), Tata Photon plus (internet drive), panna set and jewellery, lots of important papers, mathematics books of class VIth etc.

          After the theft, I filed my complaint with the TTE in the train. The train reached Howrah Station at 9.30 pm Then I filed my FIR with Howrah GRP, which sent it to Jasidih GRP. Post it to I talked over phone to Mr. Praveen Kumar Srivastava,
          SP, Dhanbad, GRP (Mobile:[protected]) and sent a fax to him. Then I faxed the complaint to Jasidih GRP. It was a theft of Rs. 1,50,000 (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand only). But till now nothing has been recovered. If there is no recovery then I would be compelled to knock the door of law enforcing agencies.

            Dear Sir, Sub :- Allotment of Vacant Seats against Money not against RAC

            Ref :- Our PNR[protected] Train No. 09004 Class 2A Compartment A-1,

            Date of Travel 14.06.2012 Name of TC Mr. Sudhir Kumar



            We four people all senior citizens (including one Ortho-Handicap), travelled in NDLS-BCT-RAjdhani SP leaving at 23.30 from New Delhi. We four o[censored]s were under RAC, all other passengers in the compartment were having confirmed tickets. We were awaiting for TC with a hope of getting confirmation , sitting tired for next 70 minutes, when TC Mr. Sudhir Kumar appeared.

            We requested him to allot seats against RAC, but he said it was going to take more time to check-up. We kept on approaching him for next one and half hours but failed to get seats. Later on he did not appear again and we spent our night in cold without sleep. Later on we found that TC sold the vacant birth against money not against RAC. When we asked about vacant seats in the morning, he informed us that there were vacant seats in Kota junction but he could not inform us as he was sleeping.

            This was a torture to us by Railway staff, corrupt practice and illegal action by TC. We would like to complain in Consumer courts and take necessary action against the concerned person.



            We request you to take up this matter seriously and get us justice. In case you do not handlee such cases , please guide us in the matter.

              Dear Sir / Madam,

              My bike was sent from bangalore to Delhi booked on 10th June, 2012 at Yashwantpur railway station. As i wan not travelling in train therore i enquired the parecl officer about the expected delivery date at the time of booking. he informed me that Parcel WAN is already booked and their is no space for next 3 days, it will be loded from banglore on 13th June and reach to delhi on 15th June.

              Since 15 i was calling parel office daily to enquire recipt of my bike but they clearly mentioned it's still not recived. Today i called Banglore enquiry office and came to know that my bike was loaded on 12th June and it must have reached by 14th June. today i rush to parcel office and got shocked when office asked me to pay Rs 1940 /- penalty for delayed recipt.

              Rule Says : First 6 hours free than Rs 10 /- per hour
              Their is no cap on maximum penalty

              I have never seen such an aggresive penalties imposed by indian government.

              Moreover there is no warning and information written on booking recipt about such penalties.

              If you have such aggressive penalties than this is railway's responsibilities to intimate customer about reciept of parcel.

              I am not in position to pay such high amount to railways, please log a complain against railway in the interest of aam Jants of India.

              I also suffered by the same problem when i sent my cycle from TN to Trichy.. The penalty is too much..No prior information...Worst Railway parcel service...
              Please, sign a petition about it.

                I WOULD TO LIKE TO INFORM YOU THAT I HAVE TRAVELLED MANY TIME BY SANGAM EXPRESS TO FATEHPUR, BUT ALWAYS COACH POSITION SYSTEM DISTURBED. DUE TO MISMANAGEMENT OF SLEEPER COACHES I.E. S1 BEHIND, S2 AHEAD, BETWEEN S1 AND S2, THE COACH NO. S4 IS ATTACHED. OCASSIONALLY S4 IS ATTACHED BEHIND AC. MEANS NO CRITERIA OF SLEEPER COACHES MANAGEMENT.
                DUE TO THIS PROBLEM, WOMEN AND CHILDREN FACES MUCH PROBLEM AND INJURED TO CATCH THIER ALLOTED COACHES.B
                I REQUEST TO RAILWAY BOARD TO LOOKINTO THIS MATTER. IN FUTURE MIS HAPPENING MAY OCCUR.

                I always travel from Mumbai(LTT-Kurla) to Amethi in 1067A/1068A-Saket Link Exp.There is only one sleeper coach S-13,in that coach mostly people of AMETHI, RAIBRALI, LUCKNOW travle.In all the season this runs always over crowded even the off season,specily S13.I was traveling in 1068A ON 04/03/2010(PNR NO-[protected] Birth no-65) from AMETHI to LTT-KURLA.There were 14passenger on only six birth(65,66,67,68,69,70) There was no place to stratch the leg,both side gets were packed no body was able to move for Toilet or water having reserved ticket.Why railway issue such a wait listed ticket if it unable to proveide reservation there should be some limitation for waiting tickets.This is only the train which is directtly used for PRATAPGARH,SULTANPUR,FAIZABAD,GONDA,AKBARPURAYODHYA,(AMETHI, RAIBRALI). But that is only two days in week,that is sufficient for public for that area. All others trains are only from ALLAHABAD & LUCKNOW. I request you kindly do it DAILY for the public of that area.That also connect the two VVIPs area like AMETHI& RAIBARELI.

                I am daily passenger traveling from Muradnagar to New Delhi in Train No 54412.Almost daily we are facing problem and it is extremely difficult for passengers from Muradnagar to broad the train no 54412 as it already packed.

                The reason is delay in train no 74002 (after being started from Saharanpur) and not sufficient number of wagons in train no 54412 as the passengers of train no 74002 are also boarding on train no 54412 (as most of them have to reach office on time). The situation is so worst that many passengers are hanging outside the doors. Any mishap/accident can happen under these circumstances.

                To avoid such situation following is suggested:

                a) Increase at least 3-4 Coaches in Train No 54412 ( Meerut - Rewari Passenger)
                b) Ensure the punctuality of Train No 74002 ( Saharanpur Delhi DMU)

                To avoid any mishap/accident and ensure safety of passengers it is requested to do the needful.

                An early action in this regard is requested.

                    I booked a ticket through IRCTC. Due to some reasons I could not travel on the journey date and also forget to cancel the ticket. IRCTC has denied the TDR claim stating "With Reference to your PNR No:[protected], we regret to inform you that refund is not admissible as informed by Railways through their letter no : REGRET/02.05.12/WR and the reason being : 09951-WR/OL12 Ticket was not surrendered with in 3/6/12 Hours".

                    As per my knowledge, there is no surrender rule for this kind of situation.

                    I filled the TDR on March 27, 2012 and the date of journey was March 20, 2012. The reason for TDR stated was "Passenger Not Travelled" and as per rules, TDR can be filed only after 24hrs of train left and within 30days from the journey date, which was followed by me. The date of Journey was march 20, 12 and TDR was filed on March 27, 2012; which was well in time as per rule.

                      Hi, I am travelling to virar from andheri since last yr in first class. But I have never seen any tc over there during office hours. Now a days lots of beggers, hijras n people having second class pass are traveling in first class. Also if any one is talking to them, then they are always arguing and fighting in the coach. If we are paying for first class pass, then how you people can allow them?? if we r complaining to station tc, they says we cant go and check in crowded coach. R they takes salary only for nothing.. kindly take the action asap.

                          I am registering this complaint on behalf of my sister and mother. They are travelling from Bhagalpur in 12349/BGP NDLS express (date 4/June/2012). This summer due to excessive heat and high temperature, we took 2nd AC ticket. They boarded the train at 5:30 PM. It is 7 PM and till the moment, the AC is not working. Its is like hell. A heated closed compartment with no AC is like furnace. I feel Slipper class was more comfortable as it had open windows atleast for air circulation. My mother is a senior citizen and she is not feeling well due to the extreme hot condition inside the compartment A1.

                          My sister talked to TT but no help and the attendant is un-traceable. There is no bed sheet, pillow and other stuff not given so far. It is the worst service ever faced.I have asked my sister to ask for the complaint book, but I am sure they will not provide it to them. I got this site, luckily and hence putting my grievance.

                          (i) complaint book was not provided even after several requests in patna rajdhani-2310,B-1 on 05.03.2010 and not even on station at patna while train was on halt and i waited for around 20 minutes.
                          (ii) AC was not on and was not made functional even after reporting.
                          (iii) services were poor by ACC of that coach B-1.
                          (iv) IMPORTANTLY MOST - toilets were not supplied with water and there was no trace of cleanliness and safai karamchari.
                          this is the status of rajdhani and treatment meted out to a judge . if this is the way they treat a gazetted government official ,how they treat a common ordinary man?ppeople not getting special treatment is ok but train not getting ordinary civil amenities is not ok.do something about it.THANKS.

                              I traveled on[protected] from Suratgarh to Jaipur train no. 09733 Hanumangarh- Kota special with a 3rd AC ticket PNR NO. [protected]. Before boarding in the train on inquiring at Suratgarh railway station it was told that my ticket is Wait list 1. on boarding the train ( Coach B1) and contacting with the Conductor Mr. Arif Siddiqui it was told that i am on Wait list 4 and can`t travel in 3 tier. I came to know that there is some space in A1 Coach( AC 2 tier) so requested him to upgrade the ticket with additional difference payment. He state way refused that there is no space in any class but on the other hand allowed no. of other passengers with higher wait list or ordinary tickets to occupy birth for example : B1 - 64, A1 - 36. This process of issuing birth got continue through out the night and i was not allowed even a seating place up to Jaipur so i have to stand in the toilet area through out the night. On making objection on this i said that it is your mistake that you are having a wait list ticket, if i had an ordinary 2 nd class ticket than he can upgrade my ticket to any class with confirmed birth.

                              Was it my mistake that i have wait list ticket ?
                              Should we buy an ordinary ticket and offer bribe to the conductor in place to the Railways?
                              Conductor has full authority for such harassment to allow more than 4 passengers issuing birth without Confirm/ wait list ticket/ RAC ? We do not have any right to find the actual status.

                              Is it possible that no birth got free during this long journey from Suratgarh to Jaipur ?

                              I was following him through out the night for a seating place only but he does not have humanity as nothing is possible in the country without bribe for which a govt employee is openly creating the circumstances ?

                                I booked a ticket for 2 persons from gurgaon for journey from Bahadurgarh to bhatinda. The actual fare for 2 persons is rs. 290. But i was charged rs.310.On inquiring the railway official told that railways charge rs. 20 per ticket for a ticket booked from a non route station, which means if you book a ticket from a station which is not on the route of the train you will have to pay rs. 20 per ticket extra as service charges. But when all the reservation system is online then, what extra service are they charging for. The printer is same & the ticket is same.

                                  I was a frequent traveller by the Rajadhani express.my first option to go by was always by Rajdhani.But few years ago, they have altogether degraded the quality of service in these trains. Yesterday also, I along with my daughter boarded from New Delhi (12314-Sealdah Rajdhani - PNR NO [protected]) The quality of food in Rajdhani Express is just pathetic.Do they think the passengers travelling in it are just worth of their degraded standards??The food course menu have been changed to inferior quality only (Thanks to removing IRCTC service and bring in Private one (Obviously only after getting a hefty bribe) .Cleanliness remains just another question unanswerable.Stinking toilet, dry tap are just add on this miserable and unforgettable journey. As if Railways is doing SEVA and not charging anything from the passenger.Its pity that they charge so much money for such a inhuman service.Like most of the government serices in India, this too lies in peril.

                                    Waiting list system itself is a fraud. I will explain the modus operandi here:

                                    IR permits 300 tickets to be booked under waiting list for sleeper class for non-tatkal quota if the train has 10 sleeper coaches of non-tatkal quota. IR does not permit waitlisted passengers to enter sleeper coaches but permits RAC passengers to enter sleeper coaches. IR does not display the 'rule information board about waitlisted tickets' at reservation counters. If such board is displayed, no one will purchase waitlisted tickets. IR displays that information on chart. Most of the people do not read charts inserted on coaches. The train halts two minutes in station and passengers hurry in boarding the train and do not think about reading the chart. When TTE asks the waitlisted passenger to pay penality, then argument happens between TTE and the passenger but the passenger cannot understand why waitlisted passengers are not allowed to board sleeper coaches. While the maximum waitlist permit is 300, it is not possible to allow 300 waitlisted passengers in 10 coaches. If IR is not able to provide accomodation to waitlisted passengers, then waiting list system should be abolished. IR should not cheat passengers by issuing waitlisted tickets.

                                    I became aware about this fraudulent system while traveling from Visakhapatnam to Rayagada. I traveled from Visakhapatnam to Rayagada with confirmed ticket. IR didn't display any board in station or reservation counter containing information that "Non-confirmed waitlisted tickets are not valid". They displayed the information at bottom of the charts that are not read by many. Long distance trains halt for 20 minutes at Visakhapatnam station. So, I was able to read the chart. If a private business firm cheats it's customers, we can file case in consumers' court. If the government cheats people, then to whom should we complain?

                                    Dear Sir,

                                    I am a Government Servant and working in a security organisation under Ministry of HOme Affairs. I was travelling to Cuttack, Orissa lin the month of October 2010. From Cuttack I purchased a reservation ticket from the counter on 11.10.2010 for Rourkela in 8477 Utkal Express to be travelled on 14.10.2010 bearing PNR No.[protected], Ticket No.06066043 and allotted Berth No.17 in S6. The train reached very late at Cuttack station around 01.00 am of 15.10.2010 and no Ticket conductor was checked my reservation ticket on departure of the train from Cuttack. On 15.10.2010 moringing Mr. Maurya, the TTE of 8477 Utkal Express advised me to get down at Jharsuguda Jn Station as the 8477 will not go to Rourkela. When I asked to intimate the reason he straight away denied to comment and told that the train is not running Rourkela route since last six months but the railway authority is still issuing ticket upto Rourkela and Tata also. When I requested to refund my money he denied and told me to report at Station Manager, Jharsuguda stn. The train reached at Jharsuguda station at 11.45 hrs on 15.10.2010 after taking almost 11 hours from Cuttack where as it should have been taken only 6-7 hours to reach at Jharsuguda by following the new route. I called on with the Station Manager and intimate the matter but the Station Manager straight away denied to refund my money and also denied to make any alternate reservation for me in any train running to Rourkela. And also he told that the matter has already been communicated to railway authority since long but I do not understand why the railway authority is still issuing reservation ticket to Rourkela. Subsequently, I register a complain bearing No.052610 dated 15.10.2010 at the register of Station Manager, Jharsuguda and requested him to give his comment in writing so as to make me convenient for filing a case in the consumer forum. Sir, if the railway authority will not issue the ticket to Rourkela how can a passenger will travel in the above train.

                                    Sir, I cannot express here the difficulties faced due to harrassment made by Railway authority on 15.10.2010. I was compelled to take private bus at 2.30 p.m as there are no regular bus services are available. When I got the bus it was quite difficult to enter in the bus due to severe rush by which I was to keep my luggage behind the bus and due to which the screen of my laptop got damaged which caused Rs.8000/- and reached at Rourkela in the evening wihtout having any food. More important, I could not complete my important work at Rourkela.

                                    Sir, I earnestly request you to kindly help me out and take necessary steps to give a suitable compensation. I have all original documents i.e. ticket, complain no. etc.etc. and will produce in the hon'ble court when required.

                                    Here are my comments:

                                    1. This JULY I was looking to book a ticket from Delhi to Pathankot in NOVEMBER and I was getting a waitlisted ticket. It is IMPOSSIBLE to believe that all tickets were sold out almost 5 months in advance!!!

                                    2. There is no visibility on how many total seats / sleepers there are in all and how many tickets have been issued. Even if the names of passengers may be kept partially hidden - I need to see that the tickets have actually been sold to individuals.

                                    3. If there are government quotas - they can travel on subsidized fares but need to be subject to the same conditions as others - no reservation. The general public cannot simply be wait-listed and "wait" to see if they can travel on the date even if the travel date is several months away.
                                    Sometimes WL 150 gets confirmed and sometimes even WL does not get confirmed. Indian Railways is playing with waitlisted passengers.

                                    Sometimes waitlisted passengers are not allowed to sit even if berths are vacant. Those berths are either of ladies quota or of duty pass quota.

                                      Following was one of my experiences about Indian Railway. On 01.06.12 I was traveling by 12871 UP Ispat Express from Kharagpur to Rajgangpur. Before reaching Rajgangpur the train stopped at the outside of the platform. Usually all up trains arrive in platform number - 1 at Rajgangpur. After 15 min. it again started and arrived in the middle line in which through train usually passes. There was a train standing in platform number-1, it would be better if 12871 UP Ispat Express would be arrived in platform number - 2 or 3 as there was no train. All aged, ladies and children passenger were in great trouble to get down from the train on the line in between two trains, walking with their heavy luggage along with the line and climbing the platform with their heavy luggage. Moreover it was very difficult to get down to line with heavy luggage from the train as stair case is usually short and inside. Accident may also occur if any train would come in down line or through line. It would be better if this train was signaled after departure of the train in platform-1. As there are many accidents happening in India due to poor signaling, this type of carelessness of railway may cause another fatal accident. Railway authority and administration should take care after such cases so that there will be no repeat of such incident.
