I have an E 51 that is around 11/2 years old. It has been connected to a PC using the USB cable precisely thrice since it was bought. Last time I connected, which was 2 days back, I was stunned to see the USB pin from within the phone coming out with the cable! It appears to be a manufacturing defect as nothing appears broken, but the pin within the USB connector does not appear to have been soldered well and has come out completely. The phone has not been dropped or mishandled in any way.
I am sure if I approach a service center, I am going to be charged for repair now that it is out of warranty. While I have no issues paying for it, this appears to be a manufacturing defect I approached Nokia and the consumer center executive could not even understand the problem! Given below is the reply. Here is yet another company that does not want to own up its manufacturing defect, but make the consumer pay for it. This is the service for a high-end handset purchaser!
