Hi folks,

This is a formal escalation regarding the complaint that I had registered for my product - Samsung Galaxy S2 that I had brought on 12 June 2011. During the course of one year when my phone was under warranty, I had no issues with the phone. Rather, the updates / changes that I made to the phone had no substantial way in the way I used the phone and I did not experience many issues with the phone.

Like most other users of SGS2, I was eagerly awaiting the Ice cream Sandwich upgrade on my handset. However, only after the anticipation and the anxiety had dies down did Samsung release the upgrade to the S2 users. As soon as I upgraded my handset, like many other users (which I read later) I started facing many issues with the firmware upgrade.
The issues that I faced are as follows -
1. The Face Unlock feature doe snot work correctly more than 80 p.c. of the time.
2. The phone just switches off while kept in the pocket. The power button stops working and the battery needs to be removed. After the battery is reinserted, without the power button being pressed, the phone is automatically powered on.
3. The Wi Fi of the phone does not work as expected. In spite of having two Wi Fi networks within my house, the phone does not recognize even one and even if recognized, it does not connect to either of the Wi Fi.
4. I I try to connect to Wi Fi during a call, the phone just hangs and the screen turns black. The call, however is not disconnected. After the call is disconnected from the other person's end, I will have to remove the battery and reinsert it for the phone to work again.

In spite of facing so many issues with the firmware upgrade, I was still able to use the basic features of my phone, although with a lot of inconvenience and discomfort. The final nail on the coffin happened on the fateful evening of 31 July, 2012 when I realized that, like one of the previous days, my phone had been turned off. However, this time it did not turn on. Even the hard reset facility was not responding. I have taken great care of my mobile not to let it drop off my hands to suffer from physical damage and prevented it from getting wet for the past one year.

However, due to this firmware upgrade, I was informed by the Samsung Service center executive, my phone had suffered from damage to the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and I was asked to shell out a hefty amount of Rs. 9900 to get it repaired (since the warranty period of one year had expired). I fail to comprehend why is it me who should be paying for this damage when the damage has been due to the firmware upgrade advertised on my phone by Samsung? I have taken full care of my handset since I first brought it and I WILL NOT be paying for something that I am not responsible for.

I was also informed multiple times since yesterday that I should have got my firmware upgrade done through a Samsung Service Center. Why was this not communicated to me earlier? Why was there not a disclaimer / popup during the installation that the firmware upgrade done by the users themselves is at their risk and not the company's? I have bought my phone through one of the official Smartphone cafes across Pune. Why was this not communicated to me by them?

Now that the hardware has been damaged there is not much support that the local Service Center is offering. Why is this so? I am pretty sure that this damage has been only and only because of the firmware upgrade and nothing else. Many of my friends / colleagues have also faced a similar problem; some of them have been lucky to have their phones under warranty period. But this is not a question o[censored]nder warranty - Out of warranty! This raises a big question mark on the kind of testing that was done by Samsung for this particular firmware upgrade before releasing it to the public. Also in question is why does Samsung provide the users to download the firmware on their own if there is a risk involved? Why is this risk not clearly communicated to the end user? Why was I not informed about this risk? If there are many users affected by this firmware upgrade, why was this upgrade not rolled back? I am willing to share the names and numbers of the other S2 users I know who have been facing a similar problem as mine.

Please note that, under any circumstances, I will NOT be paying for this fault of Samsung (and maybe even Android). I have already emptied my pockets to buy this phone and take care of it over the past year. Believe me, I am willing to go to any length to sort this thing out. If not satisfied by the service provided by Samsung, I will also be approaching one of the Consumer courts if the agreed level of service is not provided by Samsung and the faulty parts not replaced / properly repaired without charging me for the same.

Hope this sets thing straight. Awaiting a reply and an estimated time by which this issue will be resolved at the earliest.

    respected sir,
    my self kanji viroja .i have bought new samsung NP300E5X-A01IN model and my laptop serial no. HT8H91EC500257T. samsung company provide 6h battery backup in this laptop,it's printed on the samsung laptop broucher, but now this time it's not satisfy this condition and my laptop gives battery backup only 2.5h to 3.15h .so please immediately give me solution of this laptops battery..

    Laptop — No battery Backup & screen problem

    Contained herein is the HCL laptop P29 PDC (Sr. No : 3084AX360645), purchased on Oct..2009, which is still under warranty.
    The problem that I am experiencing is as follows:
    1) Battery BackUP is NOTHING, Lite is off ,so system is shut down direct.so system is giving no beckup.

    Dear Sir,

    I have purchase Samsung I5801 2 weeks back. I am facing battery problem in my handset since the day of purchase. it gives only 8-9 hrs battery back up after full charging. Even i dont receive and make any calls. I complaint it to the shop from where i purchased it but they are agnoring me saying this phone consumes huge battery back up.

    Please refer the below links where sumsung stating 1500MAH battery gives at least 02 days (48 hrs) battery backup while using wifi and gprs.

    Samsung — Battery problem

    I purchased Samsung Duos E2652 in Nov-2011, In Feb, it started the problem of not switching on. I went to Customer care, they changed the battery. now after one month, one night suddenly it switched off and again not switching on or charging. Now I'm unable to find my bill. how to get duplicate bill and get it repaired.

    Samsung — NOTEBOOK BATTERY

    I have used various laptops and notebooks but the experience I had with this netbook SAMSUNG-NP-150 JA02IN which was bought 1.5 years before has been disastrous.
    The battery life has gone to zero and now it just cant work without the charger plugged into it. This has been highly disappointing for me despite o[censored]sing the netbook as per the manual ie proper charging and discharging of battery to maintain battery life cycle.
    I bought this Samsung netbook because of long battery life of around 8 hours and now its a piece of junk for me as I cant carry it without a charger.
    The battery never lasted for more than 5 hours since the date of purchase.

    I request you to kindly look into the matter and do the needful to get my problem resolved as inspite of highlighting the case to CEO helpdesk and various regional offices they have not resolved the issue and are have negative approach towards customer's issue.

      Am SHODH from Bangalore. I purchased new phone Samsung galaxy S3 on 3rd Aug 2012 (Friday). Model no GT-19300RWDINU IMEI- [protected]. As i bought in the evening i couldn't check the phone and slept off. From Saturday am not at all getting any phones and even i was not able to call any one. While making incoming and outgoing calls display goes blank and even the phone hangs and it is very slow. As Sunday was friendship day i couldn't attend to my phone prob, because i was busy with friends. Monday i took my phone to Samsung cafe which is very near to my home. They thought the problem is with the settings and the reset the settings to factory reset, but even it didn't solve the problem. On Wednesday 8th Aug 2012 i took my phone to authorized Samsung service center in malleshvaram Bangalore. They said the problem is in the software and they updated the software. but even it didn't solve the problem so they said the problem is with my SIM card and said to change my SIM card. Even i purchased new SIM card, even it didn't solve the problem. So again i took my phone to service center on 10th Aug 2012 with new SIM card and same problem. I asked to replace the phone as am getting the problem from day 1. They insisted to replace the phone, they said they ll solve the problem because its already 3 days old. Which means they could've replaced it within 3 days. But due to busy schedule we cant attend to our phone problem within 3 days. And even the previous days were Saturday and Sunday. They said they ll repair the NEW PHONE. They took 5 days to find out the problem (still now my phone is in service center). Today (13th Aug 2012) their manager called me and said the problem is in the mother board and they ll replace the motherboard instead of phone. The problem is from the first day. Means the defect is from the factory. Which means so called trust worthy SAMSUNG sell defect piece to their costumers. That too their high end phone galaxy S3 which costs 38 thousand. It is the mistake from Samsung people. When you remove the screws from my brand phone it looses its value and quality. I don't want to remove a single screw from my phone. I need new piece (box piece). No new phone will be having a problem in their mother board (except Samsung phones). If the phone is having a problem from the first day why cant Samsung replace the phone to a defect free? Why do you tell costumers to adjust with the defect phone? It irritates us. I paid 38 thousand to that phone. Does this have a value? I need new phone with defect free or reimburse the money i have spend. For further info contact me [protected]

      Samsung Phones — Phone not working

      Hi,

      I had Bought a samsung call phone J- 700 handset from Beechaam''s press private limited on 12th april 08 Supplier''s reference( [protected]) Invoice Number ( HS- 00536). Since then twice the
      phone has gone to workshop as it automatically swices off and soes''t get on thereafter.

      twice I have given to there Janakpuri district center workshop for repair both the times it has been corrected but again it has emerged with the same problem. everytime it goes to workhop they take 10-15 days and gives back the same thing. gagain it has happened. I have written several complaints to samsung but to no reply everytime you call up they say that again you have to give it back to repair center. Please help me I amlodging a complaint .

      Every time it goes to there repair shop I dont have another cell to wotk with also all the n umbers get''s deleted which are stored in phone . To feed these numbers again is harassment.

      I have registered this complaint with core.nic.in but they are unable to rectify.

        I had purchaed a Samsung LED TV last year in September. It started giving problem in December. Top right corner of TV started blinking and slowly it turned Black. I launched a complain in January and till date issue is not resolved. Now they are claiming that TV was purchased in July and Its out of waranty and I wll have to bare the cost of repairing (Rs. 26,000). Terrible service I have followed up with them several time but no response and Best thing is that their technician admitted that this is common problem with all Samsung LED TV. Pannel will go off in some time.

        DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG TV.
        Say no to SAMSUNG
        Just wanted to agree with you, try to avoid buying Samsung LED TVs. Tonight my screen turned black in the lower left corner and I watched as it slowly inched across the screen until the whole thing was black. Now it is basically a huge, expensive radio.

          We bought our samsung model RT24YBMS ON[protected]
          till today we got 3 times repaired..we spent 8000/- on that extra for only servicing...
          No proper servicing and people are found so irresponsible and always troublesome..
          Samsung products are many in our home but refrigerator is the worst ever from Samsung.....i kept the same complaint again...
          we bacame impatient totally...by confirm this time we all set for consumer court.
          I[censored] don't take serious action this time by replacing the refrigerator or something...
          we don't wanna compromise at any cost...AGAIN SAME PROBLEM REPEATED JUST AFTER A WEEK.THEY JUST REPAIRED ONE WEEK BAK....

            I HAD PURCHASED ONE SAMSUNG D/DOOR F/FREE REGRIGERATOR ON MAY, 2011. FROM 6TH AUGOST 2012 IT WAS NOT WORKING. I LODGED A COMPLAIN TO SAMSUNG SERVICE CENTRE ON THE SAME DAY. THE COMPLAIN NO IS [protected]. ON 7TH AUGUST 2012, SERVICE PERSON VISITED AND TOLD WE HAVE TO TAKE THE REFRIGERATOR TO OUR SERVICE CENTRE. ON 9TH AUGUST 2012, THEY TOOK MY REGRIGERATOR. ON 10TH AUGUST 2012, THEY INFORMED IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REPAIR THE FRIDGE. IT WAS VERY MUCH SURPRISING THAT SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR AFTER WORKING FOR ONLY 15 MONTHS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REPAIR. [protected]). mobile have networking problem after 2 days when i m again going to the shop they said they didn't change it and take it to samsung service centre so i take it to samsung service centre (lakshminagar delhi) and say them the problem they said that they will check and get it rectified after one week they said mobile is ok and give it to me but problem is not resolved its within warranty why should i use a faulty handset after paying a lot of money kindly help

                  I would like to draw your kind attention that I am Sohom Neogi , on 14.11.2011 purchases Samsung Mobile model no GT-S5670 but few day after this set given network problem & Battery Fast discharge which was address same your service centre and complain lodged 4th time i.e. 19.7.12 ( Complain no [protected]), 06.08.12 ( Comp. no. [protected]) , 07.08.12 ( comp. no. [protected]) & 10.08.12 ( Comp. no. [protected]) but not solve my problem. So, kindly re-please my mobile set immediately.

                      While a voice call my mobile goes down after that i went near by samsung center & shown to them, they are receiving that mobile & checked in front of me then told it will be take 6 to 7 days for repairing as we are sending it to our care team. BUT still they are not repaired my mobile & now saying it will be paid service. as my mobile in warranty period .

                      so request to you please look into that matter & support to me.

                        I am regretting after buying Samsung product. I am feeling that the whole organization has no customer focus. I have written so many times to Samsung, now I feel the only way Samsung will respond will be if I legally file a complaint against you.

                        I had bought a Samsung galaxy tab 2 Serial No. (CRT/ESN/IMEI) – RF1C77OYKDK ([protected]) with bill dated 1st Aug, 2012 from Mr. Shah Nawaz owner of World Telecom House (D- 100, Main Vikas Marg, Lakshmi Nagar, New Delhi 92). On the same day I started facing the network issue. When I approached Dealer, he just behaved as if nothing is wrong and told me that its festival season and might be possible its because of network getting jammed.

                        On 2nd August 2012 (Rakshabhandhan Holiday in India) – I tried calling the dealer but he did not respond.

                        On 3rd August, 2012 I again went to your dealer, to get the problem rectified. After spending around 1 hour, he gave me the tablet and said…we registered your device and now u won’t face any problem. But still there was no solution and the problem was as it is. In the evening I called up in the Customer Care and officially launched a complaint about the dealer and the problem I was facing to your executive Mr. Hemant (Reference Number: [protected]). He assured me that a call is arranged with senior people and would get back within 24 hours. But to my surprise nobody cared and I didn’t receive any calls from your customer support guys.

                        The very next day 4th August 2012. I once again informed them without any further delay for the replacement of the tab, but he told us that it’s a software problem and re installed the Operating system and once again told us to monitor the tab. But still there was no change and I started facing the same problem again. Again I called up your customer care and the reply was same. Call arranged. Once again I was clueless what to do?

                        Once again, on 5th August, 2012. I called up your customer care guys twice, My call was taken by Mr Rehman and Mr Sumit. But didn’t get any answer, all said call is arranged and will get back to you but asusual nobody turned up. In the eveing I personally visited Samsung dealer (Mr. Shah Nawaz, World Telecom House), he did nothing but again formatted the tab and upgraded the software. Still same errors where bouncing back.

                        On 6th August, 2012, Same problem, no information from your customer care, dealer said to visit the service center, but it was closed. Called up your customer care had word with Mr Ankur, got same answer we had arranged a call for you. But no one turned. The dealer told us to come on 7th and said that he would get the tab replaced hand to hand.

                        On 7th August, 2012. We were called at 2pm by Mr. Shah Nawaz owner of World Telecom House. He sent us to your customer care service center at Daraganj. (Mr Manmohan and Mr. Oaise) they also formatted the handset and installed fresh operating system, and told us to observe. But the issue was still there. I kept calling your customer care...but not even once I got a call from your higher authorities.

                        On 8th August, 2012, we our self visited your service center in Lakshmi Nagar. (Mr. Arun Tyagi) – he told us that its fault of motherboard and will only be repaired. He said u came after 4 days hence its not my policy to change the tab. I am still trying to connect with your customer care guys, but they repeat the same answer i.e. call arranged…and then no answer.

                        In spite of all this, I waited all along hoping that Samsung will solve the issue, since fair a chance has to be given to rectify, instead of accusing in the initial stage itself.

                        I have these below given points to legally file case against them:

                        1. The reason for a quality approved product, manufactured from a reputed company to become defect within a week from the date of sales.
                        2. The authorized dealer not supporting when the product sold by them are under warrantee have defects.
                        3. Ignorance and negligence of the authorized service center of Samsung which has not supported in terms of rectification of the product under warrantee claims at the earliest



                        I will appreciate the urgent action regarding the same complaint to replace of the Tab as there is production or manufacturing defect in the handset.

                        Kindly take the action in the same matter and arrange to change my Tab.

                            I have purchased a SAMSUNG Microwave Oven, Model No. CE1041DFB, on 11/04/2012 from M/s New Digital World, Near Uma Talkies, Bisra Road, Rourkela (Odisha). At the time of purchase, I was not aware that a free “STARTER KIT” (A Set of Microwave Safe Bowls) is provided with this model and the shop owner also did not supply it to me. On the very next day when the Samsung Service Centre official came to my residence for demo, he told that please bring the starter kit for giving demo. I told him that it is not given to us. He told that it is provided free with this model and why the shop owner did not give it to you. Then he rang up to the shop owner to provide it. Still the shop owner did not give it to me. Then I taken up the matter with shop owner, but he told me that company has not given us the same and I will take up the matter with company and as soon as I get confirmation from them, it will be supplied to you. I go on calling to the shop owner at a regular interval, but the shop owner did not give it to me, rather he got irritated and told me that you take up the matter directly to the company and disconnected the phone. I am quite disappointed with such behaviour of the shop owner and hence lodging this complaint. I am a customer of SAMSUNG since so many years and have owned whole range household products of Samsung starting from DVD player, Home theatre, Television, Refrigerator, Washing machine etc. I have never got such type of behaviour from any Samsung Shop earlier. You are therefore requested to kindly look into the matter and direct the company/dealer for supply of the starter kit to me at an early date.

                                  I have purchased a samgsung mobile handset model no GT-S5270WRKINS.on 24/07/2012 from Aupam stores Borivali west but within 15 days the handset started with a problem of incoming-outgoing sound problem.I approched the store they sent me to Samsung Service Center.
                                  I visited Samgsung Service Center at Kandivali west named SkyCell on 08/08/2012 work order No- [protected].
                                  I asked the center for a fresh replacement as the problem has aroused within 15 days.they said they cannot replace but will get repaired for me.After repair the problem may arise again as it is an Electrical device so I asked for a replacement because if the New handset can arise with a problem within 15 days , what is the guarantee that there will be no complain again.
                                  But the Service Center refused and asked me to call the Call Center.I had a talk with Mr.Deepak some senior officer Ref no- [protected] but he refused for a replacement.

                                    We are having Samsung Washing machine Top-Load . It's been repair and we lodged a
                                    complaint at the first day of the repair. The Customer care department of Samsung accepted the complaint and they also have scheduled a person for our service.
                                    The technician called us once and as we are working people and our organisation does not accept the staffs to attend phone in the workplace we were not able to take his call , but as soon as we noticed his call we called him back but he was very bad at the way he spoke. We asked him to come after 6 in the evening but he is Questioning us if WE WOULD WORK AFTER 6 o clock? . We are really upset and made up our minds to buy a new machine now. And he is not giving his office's number when we asked him.

                                    I feel extremely frustrated the way the Samsung Customer care Service is dealing my case.
                                    In spite of repeated complaints about the brake down of my Fully Automatic Washing Machine, the only service that was received so long was repeated False Commitments.
                                    The Customer Care staffs are incredibly callous, lier and absolutely shameless. The service guys they send are the most inefficient that one can fetch from the market. They are experts in keeping the jobs incomplete, and in most occasions having no clue about what they are doing.
                                    I plea to all future customers to think Ten times, and even after that never allow any Samsung Commodities enter into their House.
                                    They are worse than Chinese.

                                      I have bought the above mobile in Jan 12. While transferring the songs from PC , it stopped transferring the songs after few songs saying " the root of this drive is fat file and cannot copy any more songs and suggested that sub directory may be opened or format the memory card using NTSC file or something like that I do nor remember also I did not understand. I went to the nearby Gallery at Andheri (East), Mumbai 400 058 on 4th Aug at 1700 hrs. The staff was very courteous. He suggested that after up gradation the software the problem would resolve. I signed the papers put before me and the mobile was returned to me after up gradation. On checking I found my entire phone memory was washed off. My contacts messages were erased. Had I knew earlier that memory would be lost I would have made up the back up. The counter staff took did not take precaution before up grading.
                                      I am bringing to your notice for the benefit of the customers in future and also to feed back you.
                                      The problem still persist.

                                        I NIRAJ SINGH, MY MOBILE NO IS [protected]. I HAVE PURCHASED SAMSUNG MOBILE HANDSET S3500 ON 31ST AUG 2009 IN EVENING FROM ALFA DADI HOUSE, IRLA SOCIETY, VILE PARLE (W). MUMBAI 400056. AFTER 4 TO 5 DAYS I STARTED FACING PROBLEMS WITH THIS HANDSET. IT GETS HANG SOMETIMES; & GETS SWITCHOFF AUTOMATICALLY WHILE TYPING MESSAGES & DOES NOT SHOW PROPER NETWORK. I HAVE GONE TO ALFA ON 10TH SEPT 2009 WITH THIS PROBLEMS, THEY TOLD THAT U BRING A LETTER FROM THEM THEN ONLY WE WILL BE ABLE TO CHANGE THIS HANDSET. THEY HAVE PROVIDED ME THE CUSTOMER CARE NO AND ADDRESS OF SAMSUNG SERVICE CENTRE. I HAVE CALLED SAMSUNG CUSTOMER CARE ON 10TH SEPT 09 THEY PROVIDED ME THE COMPLAINT NO AS BP NO. [protected]. AFTER GIVING THEM COMPLAIN I RECEIVED A CALL AFTER 2 HOURS FROM CHENNAI. THEY TOLD TO VISIT SERVICE CENTRE. I VISITED SERVICE CENTRE ON 14TH SEPT 2009.

                                        IN SAMSUNG CUSTOMER CARE I FOUND ONE PERSON WHO WAS SPEAKING IN A VERY RUDE MANNER TO EVERY CUSTOMERS. THERE WAS NO QUEUE ANY ONE IS GOING DIRECTLY IN FRONT AFTER COMING BEHIND. IT WAS JUST LIKE FISH MARKET. EVERY ONE WAS SHOUTING TO REPRESENTATIVE, INSTEAD OF TAKING POLITELY SAMSUNG REPRESENTATIVE WAS YELLING ON CUSTOMERS ONLY. I HAVE EXPLAINED PERSON REGARDING THE PROBLEMS WHICH I M FACING. WHEN I HAVE TAKEN A NEW HANDSET THE PROBLEM SHOULD NOT OCCUR IN 10 DAYS. IF IT’S SO THEN CHANGE THIS HANDSET OR GIVE ME ANOTHER MOBILE OF SAMSUNG COMPANY OF HIGHER RANGE I WILL PAY THE BALANCE AMOUNT. REPRESENTATIVE REFUSED TO DO SO. HE TOLD THAT WE WILL DO THE FORMATING THEN U SEE HOW ITS WORKING. I TOLD THAT I DON’T HAVE TIME TO COME AGAIN IF PROBLEM OCCURS. IF PROBLEM OCCURS I WILL THROW YOUR CELL. SAMSUNG REPRESENTATIVE GAVE BACK ANSWER SAYING THAT YOU THROW IT, IT’S YOUR WISH. HE TOLD THAT I WILL NOT CHANGE THIS HANDSET NEITHER GIVE YOU HIGHER PRICE MODLES. HE TOLD THAT IF IT HAPPENS IN A WEEKS TIME THAN ONLY COMPANY CHANGES THE HANDSET. I HAVE TOLD THIS TO GIVE ME THIS IN WRITING. HE HAS GIVEN ME THAT ON LETTER HEAD & ITS WORK ORDER NO IS WA[protected].

                                        AFTER COMING BACK I WAS EXPETING ANY SENIOR PERSON OF THAT BRANCH WILL LOOK THAT COMPLAINT & WILL GET BACK TO ME BUT NOBODY TURNED UP. I AGAIN CALLED CUSTOMER CARE NO ON 30308282. EXPLAINED THE WHOLE STORY BUT HE WAS ALSO HELPLESS. HE PROVIDED ME BRANCH MANAGER NAME & NO AS MR DEV RAJAN [protected]. I ASKED FOR REGIONAL/ NATIONAL MANAGER NAME & NO BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK PEOPLE WHERE NOT HAVING THAT INFORMATIONS ALSO. I THINK THAT CALLS ARE RECORDED CALLS U CAN CHECK IT OUT. I CALLED MR DEV RAJAN HIS CELL WAS CONTINOUSLY SWITCHED OFF. I HAVE MESSAGED HIM PLS CALL. BUT TILL TODAY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CALL FROM MR DEV RAJAN NOT ANY CONCERN PERSON AFTER SEEING WORK ORDER
                                        I FEEL I HAVE BEEN CHEATED BY SAMSUNG INDIA.
