I purchased Sony Xperia SP with lot of expectation on 13.04.2014 from Chennai mobiles, Madurai. In the same day of purchase I struggled a lot to zoom a photo. In the second day I had a missed call from my friend and called him after seeing that. Then after 20 min I again received a missed call from my same friend. A short ring and then it went blank. I called him again and found that he didn't call me. I went to the show room on the 2 nd day itself for replacement of this defective hand set. They told me to go to Sony service centre and get this mobile replaced. I am an Assistant Manager in a Public sector Bank and I was unable to get leave to visit to the service centre (Because of service centre working hours). In the first week this missed call problem happened one or two times only. Then from the 2nd week onwards, for every single missed call I started to receive an extra missed call after 2 mins. Thereafter when I cut the call, again I started to receive missed call in the status bar. Meanwhile, My mobile top portion of touch panel stopped working suddenly for one hour. Then started working. In the 3rd week, the top portion of touch panel stopped working permanently and I could not open status bar. And when I received incoming call the phone rings but display went blank. I went to Sony customer care Tirunelveli on 29.04.2014 evening 6.45 PM. They said their working hours is over and ask me to come before 6.30PM. The next day itself I went there and asked for replacement of this hand set. They said that they cant replace this defective hand set because I did not give this set to them with in a week, so they could change software and touch panel only. I explained my situation humbly for the delay and asked for replacement but they are not ready to replace that defective hand set. I gave to them my mobile on 2.05.2014 after taking backup of my personal data. Still the hand set is with them and they will give that to me after 6 days only.
But with this Xperia SP I lost all my hope. I had a very bitter experience with sony service. I read warranty information in Sony website, it clearly says that, In the warranty period hand set can be repaired or replaced NOT WITH IN 1 WEEK. But this people are misguiding customers. They see us as a burden, They are not ready to help customers and they have no idea about how to deal with a disappointed customer. Sony's service after sales is very very very worst. They think that the goods is already sold... then what can this poor customers can do... It is obvious by their words and act. I had a Sony Ericsson mini for 3 years without a single problem. Then I became a Sony brand lover. I purchased a Sony Bravia HX 75 3D TV and sony home theatre with Blue ray DVD player worth of 65000 after I had a great satisfaction with that Mini worth of 13000. I advised all my friends to buy an Xperia. But with this Xperia SP I lost all my hope and very very very dissatisfied... If this defective hand set is not replaced then, I will get that 2nd hand mobile after 6 days from that service centre and use that for coming 6 months.. Then I will go for a new high end mobile BUT DEFINITELY NOT SONY XPERIA.
