I bought a Sun DTH connection (Smart card #[protected] in the name Manoharan) on April'10. The chose Sun DTH because of the brand image which i'm regretting now. Such is theri appalling service. In the mid of May, there was cyclone in TN which badly affected my dth connection. DTh services stopped working completly after 3 days. I kept calling people after people, CC and their distributor (Vidiyal Communications). I even took leave twice since i was promised that someone is going to be sent. But no one never turned up, Finally, i paid 300 rs and called another distributor (Kalki Channel Visions Selaiyur) to fix the problem. The technician found that the dish has turned which was the reason for no reception. This is what i've been telling them but no one turned up. trust me, the service wasn't working for 36 days.
Now again, after their recent satellite movement, half the channels has stopped working. I've been calling my distributor (Vidiyal Communications[protected] and its head Jai Shankar [protected] for the past 2 weeks since 15/10 still no has turned up. Everytime they used to say that they are going to send someone but no one has ever come here.
I've logged complaint to Sun DTh Nodal office krishnan KV but to no avail. No one has even acknowledged my complaint. I've been dealing with multiple brands (Airtel for BB, Aircel for mobile) but have never come across such a pathetic, rude service which never turn up even after repeated requests. With Diwali nearing, i'm left with hardly 5 channels to watch when i've paid for south, movie, sports and news packages totalling to 2100 rs for 9 months. hardly this service would have worked for 3months since i've bought it.
I'm filing this complaint here not because i want someone to take action (which i know will never happen) but to make people aware of their service. Just don't go by the ads tan tana tan. DON'T EVER BUY A SUN DTH SERVICE - this is not an one-off incident but i knew many who has had the same problems.
I've decided to sell this dish and set top box and moving back to normal cable. Atleast there, we pay only after getting the service.
when i spoke to my distributor regarding the problem of channels being unavailabe...he told me that he himself was a sufferer with sun dth as he has not got his commission for last 2 yrs from sun direct. HE advised me to shift to a better service provider n to let go the money with sun direct as a charity or he would charge Rs 500/- to adjust the Dish.Surprising to know that such providers still claims false advertisements. I have registered a lot of complaints but unfortunately the customer service executive are unable to speak proper English, they tell me that no salary has been recieved by the Customer service Executive. I dont understand Why Sun Direct has to hit on the stomach of their Executives.
I have had problems with my Sun Direct DTH from the last 2months.
I request all to kindly shift to another professional provider rather than wasting our time and money on phone call. I have told all my friends to shift from Sun Direct to other providers.
