To Whosoever concerned,
My name is Gaurav Kotian, a resident of marol, Andheri east, Mumbai 400059. I had a Daily needs store in Marve road, Andheri, Mumbai - 400072 for which I needed an internet connection. I contacted Tikona Digital Networks, and got a connection set up and received an email confirmation with subject 'Your Tikona Secured Wireless Broadband subscription receipt'' on 20 May 2015.
Post this, I have diligently payed all of the subsequent bills and had no issues with their service and customer care, which was good in my opinion then
The last payment I've made to them was on 25 August 2015, for Rs.631. I do not remember the exact date, but I had closed my shop, and the last payment mentioned above was the last month I had used the account(barely as I had no need for it anymore).
I had asked for a termination via transfer of ownership to my neighboring shop, right beside me as they just opened and needed an internet connection too. I called Tikona SEVERAL times in regard to this and so did the person to whom it was to be transferred to; we were given several false promises of 2pm today and 3 pm tomorrow for several days ; there was never anybody who contacted us, or visited.
In my memory at least 2 weeks prior to the next bill cycle date. Unfortunately I do not have any recordings of those phone calls as I never had a problem with this company; I usually do record. I warned them around a week after we first tried the transfer of ownership - I was also very angry as I was under a lot of pressure at the time, and had to deal with this petty issue; for which my neighbor too decided to get another connection from another provider.
I called them and told them TWICE on call to cancel my account and that it is the Companies lookout and responsibility if the day passed to another month as I have already told them clearly either transfer or terminate completely. I then got even more busy and I needed to get on with my life away from the losses of the store closing; I no longer used the Shop email address [protected]@gmail.com on which i used to receive emails from Tikona; for obvious reasons.
I got more phone calls ONLY pertaining to bill payments; and that they see I am making no usages on the account; and asking if I can inform them as to why I am no longer paying bills and using the service. I lost my cool at that point and told them in CLEAR words, I have paid my last bill, and asked for either transfer or termintion - if you have done it - great, if not it's your responsibility. He told me that the equipment that I have in my possesion needs to be returned; I said I have been asking you to take it back (it was attached to the 13th floor terrace of the building in which my shop was located) as I cannot dismantle it and deliver it to your pathetic organization; if the agent from Tikona NEVER arrived; how is it my fault? The agent told me that the account will be terminated, and i an ignore the emails. This is true and I wish I had recorded that call. I then never attempted to check my old email address; as I thought the issue is resolved.
Just to be SURE, I sent an EMAIL saying the same thing - I have it with me as proof. This was sent on 9 October 2015.
Now around the beginning of February or end of January 2016, I do not remember exactly, I get a phone call from 'Delhi court'; from someone who claimed to be a lawyer; and that Tikona has a case raised against me for non payment of bills. He spoke to me rudely, cutting me off when I tried to explain and literally yelled 'kya aapne X amount bhara hai'? I thought this was a ridiculous attempt from someone from the company; hung up and left for work. I was not going to take anymore rubbish from them.
Then I get no communication until 4th March (around that date) from a lady named Neha Sharma; who again claimed that the case is raised and if I wish I can provide evidence and fight this is court; I agreed and said I have email evidence of the communication; and that I received no '7 DAY NOTICE'.
I got a call again from Neha on 7 March 2016, asking for confirmation that I wish to continue with legal proceedings; and she spoke about this case going to ÇIBIL.
I know that I've just applied for a passport, and the appointment is on 9 March, and that I do NOT want any legal proceedings or ratings issue with CIBIL ( I'm not very knowledgable on this matter, but it sounded bad for me). I asked her what are my options, other than the legal proceedings, she said its up to me, if I wish I can pay the remainder amount - late fees and bill for ALL these months and give her the transaction ID within 30 minutes or the case will go through.
I checked my old email address and found a Legal comms from Tikona on January 2 2016. It mentions calls attempted and texts sent to pay bills were ignored, hence the matter is in court. I request them to provide proofs of these so called calls and messages. And also ask why my email dated 9 October was ignored and NOT answered.
I was at my wits end, tired as I was sleeping after my long night shift at work; and I was wondering what to do, I decided to use my credit card and pay it off; and then fight the case with Tikona, and make a NOTE that I've payed in PROTEST. I paid Rs.1987 (due was Rs1986.1) just to be sure; I am already in debt and VERY upset over this matter. I called Neha and gave her the transaction ID ( [protected]TPC[protected], she said you can fight it after the payment is done, and now that it is done she will send me en email confirmation by 2PM that all legal proceedings will stop and no new bills will be generated. I got no email. I called her again and she didn't answer. It is now 2:15PM as I write this.
I am very very very angry and upset over this; and I will fight it with the help of a solicitor within the family; I want that money back, with damages for all the pain they put me through. I hope this forum can do any justice that can be done for the average consumer(not just me) and if loser companies like this can get away with totally unprofessional actions like this, I do not have much hope with out system.. If not I will take this forward all the way I can.

If Tikona is listening; kindly refund the entire amount or expect legal actions from my Laywer. This is entirely your fault and I expect an apology with that refund.

Tikona Digital Networks customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
I am planning to file a complain in consumer court.

If you are still working on "CPE recovery and full & final calculation of my account" then how can you register a complaint against me? Also note that I have returned all the Tikona equipment (CPE device, Ethernet cable, power adapter etc.). What kind of stupid people you have in your company? How much time do you guys need to calculate outstanding amount of 1 customer? Last response i received from Tikona was on Mar 17th.This shows how pathetic service you guys provide. Buying Tikona's broadband service was the worst decision of my life.
I want this issue to be closed as soon as possible.
