I wish to inform you that i had taken the iroam free 5000 plan of vodafone idea before travelling to europe. Before travelling i had set my limit to 10000. To my horror when i reached montenegro, almost after half a day had passed over there, i was informed that the plan is not valid where i am as it was not part of the pack. I received a message that my bill has touched rs.120000 approx. Within a span of just few hours. Also my data services were stopped and also my incoming and out going due to which i had to suffer heavy business losses and the trauma of not being able to contact anyone was separate. On contacting vodafone idea they said that they have the right to convert static to dynamic and alter the limit. I should have been informed by them beforehand and i also didn’t receive any message pertaining to the same by any means be it email sms or call, they should have atleast messaged me that the limit is approaching or has approached via call or sms or even via email rather they just casually waited for the bill to pile on and later stopped my services which they could have done even before when they say i was approaching the limit of rs.10, 000/- as set by me. Also i told them that i haven’t used the data as charged by them. When i visited vodafone idea store they said that they don’t have the exact summary which is the itemised bill for the same and will take 15 more days after the generation of bill.
After long continuous harassment and threats via emails, calls to me, calls to my father who is a senior citizen and also sending their person to my residence which comprises of my mother and ailing father who are both senior citizens i was forced to pay total sum of 40, 000/- that also a part of which i had to borrow on interest in a hope that all this humiliation that me and my family are going through will end. Even after that they have sent me a legal notice threatening to take me to the high court. I ask you if this is going to happen, if we consumers are being cheated, threatened and harassed like this? Then what is the future of telecommunication in india and what will be our safety and security of our privacy is invaded like this i. E. The way the limit set by us is altered.
I strongly urge everyone now to stop falling prey to these false strategies of these subscribers like vodafone idea as they are not concerned with the welfare of their subscribers but they just want to built more of them soo that they can con them when the time comes.
I hope the telecom authorities and govt looks into my concern
As the govt is very proactive regarding the issues of every citizen and steps are taken that no innocent person is unnecessaryly harassed and indian citizens are no longer taken for the ride by these international telecom operators. These operators have been milking innocent consumers for very long time and i have high hopes by concern issues will be priority basis and solution is taken out.
