Vodafone India Post paid charges monthly rental of Rs.150 for 500MB data, which is alright. If internet data gets exhausted earlier, they have booster packs which can be activated to get additional data. For e.g. I had activated booster pack worth Rs.100 in which you get 300MB on 21st day of billing cycle.
Now the catch is that there is something called Rs.850 capping rental which gets activated if your data usage exceeds 500MB and then Rs.850 at the rate of 2p/10Kb, which is utter stupidity. Why will one pay Rs.850 rental for nothing, when one has already paid, Rs.150 + Rs.100 for 800MB of data (500MB + 300MB), which is clearly reflected in the bill.
I knew that Vodafone is famous for this kind of stupid round about billing which no one seems to understand. Hence I had monitored my data usage and stopped it at 495MB and 295MB respectively.
Now it has been a month since I have complained to the appelate and the nodal officer, but there seems to be no response from them. The only response I received is from the Corporate Assist which is as follows:
Thank you for your e-mail dated 20/12/2014, regarding billing clarification on your Vodafone mobile number 9920******.
We regret the inconvenience caused to you.
We would like to inform you that, we have rechecked your invoice dated 01/12/2014 and confirm that there is no billing discrepancy. So as per revalidation we wish to inform below mentioned details:
1. For above mentioned connection active data plan is MI_C_V_150_30d_R500MB_FU_3G capping plan with up to 500MB data usage free.
2. Under the same plan capping amount is Rs. 850/- is applicable.
3. If the data usage are less than the 500MB so capping amount of Rs. 850/- will get reversed on 3rd or 4th page under Misc credits / charges
4. Post free usage of 500MB data usage will be calculated as per 2p / 10KB.
5. If the usage are less than Rs. 850/- then you have to pay the only usage charges as per 2p/10KB and rental of Rs. 850/- will get reversed on 3rd or 4th page under Misc credits / charges.
6. If the usage are more than Rs. 850/- then you have to pay the only rental of Rs.850/- and all data usage above Rs. 850/- will be discounted on 3rd or 4th page under Misc credits / charges.
7. We wish to inform you that, if your usages are more that Rs. 850/- (capping amount) speed gets reduces to 64 Kbps with unlimited data usage free.
Further, we would like to confirm that, in invoice dated 01/12/2014 total data usage was done approx 842260KB hence on rental charges of Rs. 150/- (Rs. 150/- data plan rental and Rs.850 /- capping rental) has been charges further all usage charges has been discounted (Rs. 1, 295.76) on 3rd or 4th page under Discounts / other charges.
Basis the above, we would not be in a position to pass any credit as these are the genuine charges

Today morning at 7:00 am I received a message on my number +91 [protected]
"Hello! Look @ it service is now active on your number, as requested.This service is valid till[protected] and a 15 days rental of Rs.45 has been deducted.Your current Balance post service activation is Rs.206.448.To deactivate SMS STOP to or call 155223(toll free)."
However, I have made no such request and it was deducted from my balance without any confirmation. The vodafone care number 198 is also not available at the moment.
