I have submitted a requested on Nov 11, 2015 from a non registered email id.( I used my official id and copied in my gmail registered id. I received a reply from Airtel on the same day asking me to either resend the request from my registered if or to provide a few mandatory details. I replied with the details reqested, again from my official id and copied in my gmail id. I did not receive any follow up after this and assumed this was being taken care of. I received a bill for Nov 2015 and on Dec 15th 2015 i again emailed Airtel informing them that I have disconnected but am still receiving bills. I had settled all outstanding until Nov 2015 and will not be paying for any more services. Pls note that i have Zero usage on both my LL and BB connection since Nov 2015. I have been receiving countless calls asking me to settle outstanding and i have been informed eevery agent who called me that i have disconnected services. In march 2015, i was informed i still have an active conection and had dues of Rs 6000+. On march 7th, an extremely rude collctions agent threatened to bring the police to my place. Since I knew this was illegal, i told him so and hung up. I called 198 to register a complaint against him and was infomed that they do not have any cancellation request for my line. I sent them snapshots of my emails in Nov and Dec 2015, and asked them to atleast action it then. As of March 7th, a new request was taken for the cancellation and I was asked to mail 121 to ask for a rebate with evidences. Inspite of me sendng multiple emails with snapshots of my emails to airtel, i keep getting the same from the billing team saying I did not request for a cancellation until March 2015. I have escalated to the nodal team. While a few of the advisors from nodal understood the issue, when the query was sent to the billing team for resolution, I would be back to square one. I am not seeing any response from airtel as to how and why they say they havnt received the cancellation request when I clearly have screenshots of my requests to them.
The customer service in this regard has been pathetic inspite of me being an airtel customer for over 8 yrs.
