Bluedart Courier Services had/has launched a Rakhi Special service, whereby as claimed by their organization website the packet would be delivered within 48 hrs. I wanted to send the same on behalf of my wife to her brother.Waybill No. - [protected]
The shipment was from Gurgaon to Bhilai. The date of pick up of packet was Aug 16th. As confirmed by their call centre and by the person collecting the packet, the packet will reach the recepient by 19th AUgust.
Given this assurance, i handed the packet on 16th Aug. with correct and detailed address and pincode.
I checked the website on Aug 19th and found the status shown as "Shipment Redirected". Seemed suspicious, I called up the call centre only to find out to my horror - The packet was sent to Bilaspur and NOT Bhilai. Raakhi being such an occassion, this was more like playing with emotions of people.
The call centre people told me that "I would have mentioned incorrect PINCODE". I told them and gave them the correct Pin code. This is when they agreed that the Mistake was at their end.
When a company accepts its mistake, I expected it to take exceptions and expedite the delivery against normal procedure.
Ms. Anu and Ms gauri from Bluedart were ones with whom I was interacting from Bluedart and they did not nothing except sympathize with my situation. there was no exception taken to expedite the delivery of packet.
As i write this mail on 20th Aug, the packet is still not rchd the destination and last assurance given was that the packet will reach the destination on 20th by 6.30 in evening.
The whole purpose of sending the raakhi is defeated and it has put me in such an embarassing position.
The company has only been bureaucratic in its handling of this goof-up, even after accepting its mistake.
Again and again, there has been loop only. The packet was to go as per normal course -: Gurgaon -Raipur-Bhilai.
Instead, they have done the following: Gurgaon-Raipur-Bilaspur-Raipur-Bhilai.
Even when the company accepted its mistake of Destination 3, it could have not been bureaucratic and fixed on procedures. it could have taken exception of avoiding Destination 4 which is repetition of Dest 2.
But again this is where they goofed up.
main issue of mishandling - Bhilai and Bilaspur are 2 different sounding and spelt cities (though in same state), Pin code was correctly mentioned. How could the people at Courier company ignored basic and common sense of spelling of cities, even if pin code was ignored by them (giving them benefit of doubt, even when i dont want to)
How do i get compensated for this mis-handling and for gross negligence and bureaucratic company?
I would like to see that the company is taken to task for this.
