Dell 1464 — charger not functioning

A laptop no. dell 1464-red [protected]@2.13G/2GB/250GB/512MB/DOS/C.C Jb9s4bs purchased on July 3rd 2010 at 19.36 hrs from authorized dealer Advance Computer Shoppe[protected] D-118, Fateh Nagar, New Dehli. Charger of this laptop is not functioning. Warranty of this product is going to be ceased today the July 3rd 2011. Efforts have been made to complaint on No [protected] and [protected] but it was found that timing for complaint is Monday to Friday. Please replace the charger of the laptop.

    I don't know if it was my badluck that my laptop stopped booting or it was because i was having a Dell Studio 1558. I have been calling Dell support since past 3 days. And all they do is transfer me to n no. of people and then they disconnect the call knowing that when i would call again the same person would not pick the call. they're pretty smart. But is this Fair??? 3 days , laptop not working, so many calls to them, wasted hundreds of rupeees on just these STD calls and laptop is still under warrenty. They can't even send a technician over to my place and fix up the Issue.. This is in protest to DELL SUPPORT, that i won't be sitting silent. And this is jus tthe beginning..

        hello,

        This is rutvik here, i am using dell INSPIRON 6400 from past 5 years and hadnt had a single problem untill recently the display of the laptop is not working. I had connected it to the projector at college to give a seminar there it didnt work, later the display was working only in LCD mode. but i switched off the laptop and again switched it on and was working fine for couple of days. After that the display is completly gone and i have to press LCD/CRT function key to get the display, which is very dim and even i am not able to adjust the brightness of the screen. also the screen come only 3/4th of the full display. please kindly recommend what i need to do for the this problem.

        Dell Inspiron 6400 — No Support

        I extended the warranty of my laptop and it is till 9 sep 2012. when they approached me for warranty extension, they said it is covered till sep so i paid the entire amount. but now they are not providing me the service saying that they provide service for 5 years only. it is a mental harassment and it has affected my work so much.

          1. I purchased a Dell brand STUDIO-15 Laptop in the month of September 2009, Tag No. 22TY3BS. In Oct 2010, one day the battery of my laptop suddenly quits off. Before it stopped working completely it used to give me about 2.5 hours of backup. From the month of Oct 2010, the battery does not charge when connected to the system with the AC adapter. The system will only function with the AC adapter attached. The system will not function on battery alone.

          2. As the warranty was only for 1 year, so nobody at Dell (Call Center and all serice stations) is actually listening. They only have one standard statement, "If it is out of Warranty, You have to buy a new battery).

          3. In few of the forums I saw that lots of customers had similar complaint with this series of Dell Laptops. I doubt like others if they have pre-programmed that the battery will stop working after the warranty of 1 year gets expired. Obviously Dell does not sell laptops saying that the Battery will not last for even 2 years. It is not about Warranty not active, but the real issue is the product has to function properly even after warranty. Nobody would buy a laptop if we need to invest on battery every 14-16 months.

          I also have the same problem. I bought my studio15 on Nov 2011. The battery life was so-so initially i[censored] r gaming on it, and after 6 months or so it was around 30min gaming and 1hr non gaming.. now after 20 months it hardly gives 20 mins browsing and prolly 5 mins gaming. I didnt call the customer care as i knew what they will tell, so didnt bother to spend time and efforts.. A totally crappy battery for a otherwise great product which matched all my expectations. Now i am considering a replacement..will probably get a 9cell one this time
          EDIT: I bought on Nov 2009 and not 2011

            I have online purchased my 2nd dell laptop in Nov'2010. From the starting only it's battery backup has been very poor, nearly 1hr in a 6cell lithium battery. I contacted dell & then one battery was replaced but the battery backup is still very poor which is again 1hr nearly.

            I am fed up with this battery problem kindly replace a good battery this time.

            dell inspiron n5010 — Poorest service ever

            Its been nearly 20-22 days my laptop isnt working.. I called up customer service.. They don even transfer my call to the respective executive. Within 3 months the hard drive got corrupted, the CD ROM isnt working. I am highly pissed off with this kind of response. If you arent able to give service to the customer, dont claim you do so.

            I would want to get my laptop replaced if it doesnt get treated now.

              while selling me the there complete cover warranty they called me everyday for 2 weeks, now when laptop need to avail this service DELL is not responding to my complaints from almost 1 month,

              where as the complete cover warranty given by DELL say problems will be addressed next working day,

              after long holds over customer care numbers , all representatives behaves like they are very sorry for the trouble but actually they are not.

              all my travel plans are held up just because dell is not doing its job and for what they have charged abnoxious amount for laptop insurance.

              I purchased dell Inspiron Notebook from dell directly. After a year as the warranty got expired we had problem with charger. When contacted the company technical support the person their Mr. Sandeep Sharma told that with charger you need to purchase Battery as well as replace mother board and besides this has to purchase warranty mandatory for one year than only I’ll be able to get charger. When I asked him for local walk in customer care he told that they don’t have any in Jaipur and if you need to call technician you need to pay rs1300 per visit. When mailed only for charger only he deleted mail without reading. (As attached return read receipt with mail)
              I am helpless as my laptop is not working kindly advice what action can be taken against such companies and such unprofessional people working

              I had problem in my system, which is not starting, for which I need Dell service engineer at my home for rectifying the problem. For this reason, I am calling Dell Call Center in Mumbai for the past 2 days, almost 10 times I have told my service tag no to them, but nobody is coming on the phone and I had to wait almost 30 mins holding the phone hence wasting my time.This represents very poor after sales service by Dell.

                  i bought my laptop in month of December 2010. the very next day its hard disk crashed and the system was at service center for more than two weeks. after a few days its USB ports were not working. hence motherboard was replaced. after a few months again its hard disk was having problem and it was replaced.
                  from december to april within 5 months i went through three replacements. i asked them to replace the system but they say that they don't have this provision.
                  Write a letter to [protected]@dell.com. This goes to the corporate office of Dell and you should get a senior executive resolver to handle your case who would have more authority than the usual tech support in taking decisions.

                    I paid the money for extension of warranty 20 days back till now warranty has not been extended and also i have given the compalint for replacement of bazel .I haven't received the response from the dell representative. I also send the broken pics of bazel to the representative . i have received a call last week friday they said that they will inform me by monday and also said that the warranty will be extended by monday and it will be updated in the dell official website. I checked the website it hasn't extended although i payed tha money 20 days back. I paid the money for the complete cover

                      Respectable Sir,
                      I have a Dell laptop with 3 year's warranty. the model no.1014 (Dell Vospro)
                      and the serial no.B96TBN1.

                      I have some problem with my hard disk so I went to the service centre but
                      they denied to repair it because there is fine scratch on back body. They
                      said "it is body break and your warranty is invalid now."

                      Actually it is a miner scratch near a screw made by them with a screwdriver.

                          Hello,

                          this is to draw everyones attention to the horrible buying experience of dell and bad customer service of dell.

                          i ordered an xps laptop on 4th of april.
                          i transferred money on 4th april.

                          dell staff named ravi paul ([protected]@dell.com) assisted me in order and told me that maximum delivery time will be 10 days. I told him that i will be leaving city soon, so make sure he takes order only if it can be delivered. He told yeah sure and i placed order.

                          Manufacturing build was complete on 11th april.
                          after that all troubles started.

                          there was no shipping from factory. I called up dell customer staff ravi paul and he lied to me that every thing is fine and the product will be delivered max by 17th april. I called again customer care, first of all, they keep on transferring my call to some xyz department and no1 has clue of who will assist.
                          simply they ask order number and personal details and give you a case number (who no one cares!).

                          i emailed customer care at address on dell support page and yet no response.

                          then i again called up and some "aruna" named staff talked.Again same old thing, they have no clue what is going on in the factory or what is status.They say same old thing again and again that the manufacturing is completed and will take 1 day for custom clearance and shipped to me in next 24 hours!.

                          i called up yet again and i got new type of excuse now, that there is some software issues and laptop is being checked ( see how hopeless customer care tells lies).


                          today is 20th april and still my laptop has not been delivered to me.

                          I even asked for refund but the people are not refunding my money saying that they will cut some money even if they refund. When i ask for refund ther say lie that product is already shipped.

                          i again talked to some senior staff (transferred by customer care) and she told i will cordinate with factory and tell you within one hour, But againno response till yet!!!]

                          i have given up my hope and frustation and will be leaving city on 23rd.
                          No one is replying my emails now.
                          i am always told that everything is cleared and product will be shipped soon.
                          i dont know what will happen to laptop and all and i am going to file case against dell if my laptop is misplaced.

                          i have faced mental stress and harassment during whole experience and will warn everyone never to buy from dell.Buy from retail outlet and go for hp sony etc trusted companies.

                            This is to bring to your attention on the above laptop, the negligence and poor assistance I have had from Dell India which ended up in not enabling to use my laptop to any degree of satisfaction and bearing huge costs which evidently is due to mis-information provided to me and due to the poor co-ordination of the Dell team in India.

                            I am appending below the summary of the transactions from 2007. This laptop was purchased in Dubai on 11th March 2007 and soon after I got back to India in April 2007, I started having problems with the laptop. It would not start up ending up with some blue screens, which I expected were due to virus. I reported the fault to Dell India, but was asked to get the tag transferred to India and further was told that the machine would not be attended unless I purchased a warranty cover from India after the tag transfer was done. The reason I was told was that the machine only has a local warranty in Dubai.

                            I am copying and pasting all the communication I had with Dell India and you may see very clearly the information provided was wrong and service provided was unacceptable. I had no way in which I could get the laptop attended until I moved to Australia when Dell australia told me that laptops do have international warranty and only desktops do not have international warranty.

                            The problem was recently taken up again with Dell India after paying a huge amount for replacing defective parts and for warranty extension, while the defect was developed well within the warranty period, infact within one month of purchasing the laptop.

                            I therefore require a full compensation of the amount I paid as repair cost and warranty extension and a replacement of the laptop with a new latest laptop (as the laptop XPS M1210 was one of the latest in Dell series at that time) with fresh warranty cover.

                            Looking forward for a prompt action.

                            I am attaching herewith by copying and pasting the correspondence w.e.f April 2007 (Laptop was purchased in March 2007) and highlighting the respective areas. It is numbered from 1 - 4 and the relevant complaint concerns to no.4.

                            You may see the reply which clearly mentions warranty is not covered in India and it needs to be purchased from Dell India. It mentions about only transferring the tag which can be done 'without any costs'.

                            Service tag is 7 digit alpha numeric number, if it is laptop it will be at
                            the bottom of your system, if it is a desktop it will be behind the CPU.

                            Dell India / XPS M1330 — Unable to contact customer support

                            I bought a DELL laptop and one of its numeric keys got misplaced which needs to be replaced. I have been trying my best to get in touch with the customer support to help me but to no avail.

                            Inspite of several attempts made to contact customer support, I am always put on hold and precious talktime is wasted for minutes on end.

                            No satisfactory reply is given and my problem remains on hold.

                            Dell Xps M1210 — no response

                            i bought a dell thinking it is a good quality product with excellent service. but that was not the case at all. not only did the mother board keep crashing ( which dell agrees happens and they replace the same in the usa but not in india) but no one from dell ever responds to any e-mail at all. nor is there a website or e-mail id where one can make an official complaint. dell phewwww never again
                            Dell India is the worst ever service provider in the IT industry. The least trustworthy people. The people sitting there do not know what they are doing, talking or writing!!!
                            I had to be informed by Dell Australia that Dell Laptops are covered under international warranty, which the Dell India team doesn't know or want to know . They are so customer hostile.

                              I purchased a Laptop from Dell India in April 2010 bearing service tag F8TK6H1 and after some time i observed a dot on the screen of laptop i contacted the local dealer and informed him about the same who in turn assured me that this is nothing and after six months or so battery of the laptop started giving less back up,I again contacted the dealer and informed him about back up problem of the battery of the laptop who advised me to keep the battery on charge for 12 hours and assured me that if the problem continued still then I should lodge a complaint with Dell India and also gave me the toll free no.of the company I tried the same and informed them about both the problems and they were cordial enough and told me to contact their Grievance Cell giving me the e-mail address of the Cell. I was very happy to see their promptness and e-mailed my complaint to [protected]@dell.com and waited for more than a week but they did not acknowledge my complaint after some time i again mailed my request to the same e-mail address but no acknowledgement was received by me and got disappointed.Now I humbly request your good offices to look in to the matter and justfully present my complaint to Dell India so that my complaint is acceded to.

                                I have bought my Lap top at Jan 2011, in these three and half months, more than Past TWO and Half months I am facing the issues with My DELL laptop like “BATTERY IS NOT WITHSTAND FOR MORE THAN 30 TO 40 MINUTES AND PEN DRIVE PORTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND SYTEM GETTING OVERHEAT AND SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY GETTING SWITCHED OFF AND SWITCHED ON AND SYSTEM HANGING”, etc.

                                I am facing these many issues, for that I have contacted dell service for past TWO and Half months. They are keep on changing my laptop parts only (Motherboard Second time and Battery Fourth time and some other parts that for I am facing the problems in Pen Drive port and overheat and automatically system getting switched off and switched on) but it not at all giving any improvement. Instead of that it keeps on increasing my problems one by one so I am fully dissatisfied and fed up with DELL LAPTOP. Actually I bought my laptop for my PROJECT USE but I am unable to use the laptop for what purpose I have bought (my studies purpose). My Laptop is sitting ideally in my home. I don’t know what to do. From Dell side I am not getting any problem resolved solution. They are doing experiment with my system and they are manipulating the things and keep on changing the parts only, if DELL keeps on doing like this how my laptop will be fit for long-term?? I am not buying for one year purpose I bought for my own personal use I have spent around Rs 39000 for this laptop but I fell very badly about the dell service.
                                Just check how many times I have made a call to customer service but there is no use in that. They are simply manipulating and sayings do this that etc. Every time they are giving assurance, if you will facing the same problem again we will replace the system but still now I did not get new system and my problems also not yet resolved instead of that the problem keeps on increasing one by one. Last time they have taken the new system request, after two days they said your request has rejected. I don’t know whats going on. I am fully dissatisfied with DELL. I believed dell is good that’s why I have bought it and I have recommend to my friends also but now it’s totally in the opposite side.
                                Please do the needful.

                                  I am working as an ASSISTANT ENGINEER - CIVIL for TATA CONSULTING ENGINEERS LTD. I work at TPS II EXPN, NLC, Neyveli. Last Sunday (17-April-2011), I was to travel in the KSRTC VOLVO bus 2132 BNGNYV, from Bangalore to neyveli from shanti nagar bus stand. I boarded the bus, put my laptop bag and luggage bag in the luggage carrier overhead to my seat no 2. Unfortunately after 2 minute my laptop bag was found missing when i searched for my travel ticket to show to the bus conductor. I asked the persons in the bus about my bag. They said later that one boy around 22 years lean and with spectacles old had took the bag and was searching something. since i was sitting right in the front sear, i guess he operated from behind. later i called up on my cousin and went to the Police Station to complaint about this. But the police men (Sub Inspector) said it is your thing you have to keep it safely. Because of you people the theft has been increasing, just go to the station in the city and give a complaint. You cant complaint here. It is not our duty to get your complaint. This was his reply. And he somehow accepted my complaint. I kindly request you to please find my laptop and hand over it to me. I have lot of data including my work related files, confidential files in the laptop. I will be very thankful if you do this needful. Thanking You.

                                  Yesterday night while I was travelling from Hyderbad to Bangalore thru in KSRTC Club Class, Tripcode:6:05 the service hyd to mysore, I lost my Laptop along with battery charger bag which has other goods also, but when tried to complaint concerned police there is response from them.                                       I am using DELL laptop model Inspiron N 5010. My service tag number is 6VWL6BS. I am facing problem with battery's low backup (only about 15 mins.) and in excess heat flow from laptop. Laptop is in warranty till November 17th, 2011. Though they are not replacing my damaged parts. So please take strict legal actions as soon as possible. I am student of Computer Engineering and as a student I use laptop for my study work and can't tolerate more for this issue. I am trying to log the complain in DELL service center[protected] for a fortnight but they are not logging the complaint and doing wrong excuses. I think this is not fair as they are previously giving us guarantee that they will provide the best service after taking their products.

                                        Dear SIr/Madam
                                        I have a Dell Inspiron laptop purchased from Dell. The system stopped working. I called Dell on Jan 28. As per Dell Tech Support, my laptops mother board needs to be replaced and suggested I extend my warranty protection. Dell customer service, nicely spoke and explained that my system is out of warranty and advised me to purchase a "complete cover warranty" costing Rs.20400. On Jan 28 they created the case no - Case no:[protected]. The customer service person said, as per the warranty agreement, if the technician is unable to repair the laptop, Dell will go to the extent of replacing me with a different laptop. So unconditionally my issue will be solved.
                                        Today I am here on Feb 27, my issue is still not resolved. I have spent quite a lot of time calling Dell and Customer Service/Tech support phone tag me back and forth and no progress. My emails to dell are unanswered.
                                        At present I request you to help me either get the money refunded or fix my laptop.
