I placed an order with Panchhi Petha for a box of petha to be delivered from Agra to New Delhi (Dwarka). The item was shipped via Standard Overnight on Monday, 1 April 2019. I received a message from Fedex with a tracking link, and on Tuesday I was messaged that the item would be delivered on Tuesday 02.04.19 by 20:00. It was not delivered. I got a message on Wednesday that it would be delivered on Wednesday 03.04.19 by 20:00. I called customer service to confirm that it would be delivered on Wednesday, and raised a complaint that since it was delivery of perishable items, there should not be any more delay. They assured me that they would inform the delivery agent. I called customer service twice again, once more after 20:00 when my package had not been delivered. They told me that the package was back at the facility, and that delivery would only be attempted the next day. I told them that I had flagged a complaint and despite that they could not deliver a perishable item on time. They said they could not do anything about it. Today, Thursday, I received another message saying delivery would be attempted. The delivery agent contacted me in the morning. Since my phone was going to be out of commission the entire day, I gave the delivery agent clear instructions on how to make the delivery, both on call and over whatsapp. I called customer service around 18:00 when I realised delivery hadn't yet been made. The customer service executive told me that they delivery agent would attempt the delivery today itself, but if not, they would try tomorrow. However, he couldn't guarantee that delivery would be made by tomorrow. This was after I repeatedly explained to them that the delivery was for perishable food items, that it was an Indian sweet that was being transported in a delivery truck for three days in the scorching heat and would in all likelihood go bad by the time I get it.
