I would like to share my bitter experience with fedex express service (India and czech republic) with all.
I am writing this message regarding my package (9.6 kg) from chennai, india to prague, czech republic[protected] which was shipped on 08/28/2019. The fedex express package was sent to prague, cz with international priority to my pregnant wife from her parents with love.
The package was not been delivered and we have been waiting for the package for a month. Even after sending the required information, they kept on telling that the harmonised code (Taric eu) and composition are not ok. When i visited the fedex office in prague airport, they asked me to do the custom declaration individually by myself, without helping me to do the customs clearance through fedex.
Being an international (1-year stay without czech language proficiency) it is impossible to do the clearance with the czech public officials.
Later being unable to process further the shipment was sent back to india (Last week).
But this return of package was done with a huge amount of money 22626, 00 czk = ~75500 inr, which has been taken from my bank account without any intimation. Even i was not warned about the charges for returning (Invoice number: [protected].
I would like to request for the possibility of a refund of the money which was taken through autopay without my approval through fedex.
I have given my card details in the fedex in-order to login/account online as suggested to have a letter of authorization, but it doesn't mean that you can take money from my account without my permission!
My in-laws have already spent around 7000 inr for the shipment from india (International priority). I would have expected a maximum of 7000 inr = 2200 czk. And now i have been charged 10 times more just for returning the same package.
Both the fedex officials in india or the czech republic helped me in sorting out the customs declaration and clearance, i want the complete refund of the money withdrawn from my czech bank account.
Fedex india: even though the package was made by the fedex india agent and shipped to the czech republic with the list of items, he has not informed about the restrictions in the czech republic and problems in shipping home-made food item (Non-perishables) and the need of the hs codes as per taric-eu for customs declaration.
Fedex czech republic: fedex prague officials also didn't help me in preparing the hs code as per taric-eu what they need for declaration even after sending all the information required for the same. They sent me 3 documents for doing self-clearance to airport customs officers, with which i couldn't do the clearance (After spending half a day in airport arrival individual custom clearance office) and later was asked to contact another company for preparing documents for clearance. And now they have charged me such a huge amount of money and withdrawn from my bank account without intimation.
Our parents have shipped the item from india through fedex express only because of trusting the company and urgency and it took more than a month "undelivered" and now we have been charged heavily for the same (7000 inr for shipping from india + 75500 inr for return).
Eagerly waiting for resolving the issue and possiblity to refund.
