We booked a room in the taj mahal hotel in hyderabad. The 1st room we were shown was not clean, it was in the new part of the hotel, the second room was entered via an unfinshed pathway and dirty walls in the passage. The room was little better. The third room we were shown was much bigger though it smelt strongly of cigarette smoke and the shower leaked and could not be stopped, there were cracked tiles on the wall, the inside of the door was mouldy, as was the area round the ventilator, a hole in the wall was filled with cement not smoothed or painted, the silver of the mirror was destroyed, the surround of the mirror is dirty the light tube was resting on the mirror frame and suspended by the cables.
We had to ask for toilet paper, there was 1 coat hanger, when asked 4 more were provided. The cupboard could not hold a shirt without the arms hitting the shelf, the safe did not work and when we asked for this to be opened nothing happened. We had to ask for the wifi code. There was no sign of the iron or ironing board that should have been in the room. I do not believe that this hotel can have been inspected from the inside. The entrance was grand but on close inspection even that was dirty.
