In July 2021 I collected my new debit card as well as a fresh cheque book from my icici home branch in phase7 Mohali, personally by submitting my ID credentials.
The very next month in August I got a message to collect another debit card for the same account. It seemed like they had not updated on their system about issuance of debit card in July21.
I called up the customer care for clarification and on realising the error they blocked the new card. The customer care also advised me to send an email to customer.[protected]@icicibank.com and bring to their notice through writing about the error in their system, that debit cards one after another are being issued without customer's knowledge.
Instead of addressing the real issue raised and understanding the problem they are stating that debit card delivery attempt will be made to your home address and if you don't accept it they will start levying me a fine. As I'm not in station I am obviously not in a position to collect it and moreover why should a customer be asked to collect debit card one after another for the same a/c!
Down below I am copy-pasting the email reply from icici's customer care:

3. Who takes the responsibility of the safety of the debit card being delivered at the address when I am out of station and then it getting diverted to bank branch.
I have already intimated the bank employee (Sritanya) of the branch as well as customer care( who hv blocked the card on my request and also advised me to send this email regarding the same).
Kindly look into the matter at the earliest and reply asap.
