Just now I had a conversation with the customer support executive (Mr.Karthik) regarding an Issue, but the call has ended up like taking an decision to cancel the card.
Here follows the scenario, I have called up the bangalore customer care number and verified my card details, date of birth on IVRS, but again the executive has made me to tell my card number, date of birth, billing address, pin-code everything over the call. when i asked him why do he require the details over voice when i have authenticated them over IVRS. For this he has given me a blunt reply saying when the call is waiting for more than 10 mins i have to authenticate again, but when i have checked my call duration it is running around 3 mins.
When i have asked him against the security of telling the secured information over the call, he simply answered me saying it is not a big issue and we can say.
If it is not a big problem then why the IVRS is required, people can tell the card number over voice.
When i was frustrated with his terrific and misguiding answers, he then asked me how can he help me, then i said i want to cancel my card, for this he did not ask me the reason behind, i have received a terrific answer saying, "take a white paper and write a letter to the head of cards section and post my card and it will be cancelled with in 4-5 days".
Might be HDFC is vexed with its customers base and want to reduce the number of customers with this poor quality of customer support and misguiding answers.
I am writing this review so that others know the pain before opting this card and will not be in soup.
