I recently had my my debit card stolen, and have been facing a nightmare ever since.
Firstly, it was really difficult to even access the customer care on the phone. After you dial the option to report a stolen debit card, the automated system asks you to enter your debit card number (which I had just had stolen, DUH!) / or account number, which I managed to do.
Cancelled my card, and asked them to issue a fresh one, which is when the nightmare began. They sent that card through some random courier company called SIGMA courier. My card never showed up. Called ICICI and got the AWB number and courier number. Courier claimed to have attempted delivery (but there was no note from them, and I have been home ALL day all week), and returned the card to the bank. Called ICICI again, they have no idea what is happening, keep repeating I should check with SIGMA who keeps telling me to check with ICICI.
After a lot of yelling, finally someone at ICICI informs me I can walk into a bank and get an instant debit card!!! I cannot believe they waited 15 days and so many phone calls to impart this basic information. This should be the first thing they tell customers who lose debit cards. Either ways, decided to go to ICICI and shut down my account. Advice to ICICI to keep your customers:
- Improve your customer care,
- dont try to cut cost by using random service providers like SIGMA (a quick scan of this message board will show you that many, many customers are unhappy with them)
- start a call back system, to check if customer complaints have been addressed.

ICICI Bank — Fraud in ICICI Bank
I have a Saving A/c in ICICI Bank which has been debited with Amt.of Rs.21616 on dated 26-Mar. against the Credit card no. [protected] Payment.This is to my uttermost disappointment that I don't have any ICICI Bank credit card & I don't know who has received the said card and where this was delivered. To inform you I have never applied for any Credit card in any of the Bank.
Surprisingly on 27-Mar I received a Letter from ICICI Bank saying Lien marked on my bank A/c towards unpaid dues of Credit card. Prior to this ICICI bank has never sent me a letter and I have never received any call and any document regarding same at my Address.
Same day when I visited at ICICI C-scheme Branch and there I met with Mr.Jagdish Kulwani. I explain him the matter he checked the card details and A/c details when he show me the card details no detail is matching with me except Name & DOB. I think only match of Name and DOB does not allows ICICI bank to take out money from my A/c and that too without my permission and in spite of this he clearly refuse to help me out in this. I launch a complaint also on phone banking but no satisfactory response is there from them till date.
I feel ICICI Bank is a Private Bank where such kind of mistake is not acceptable. Despite of this when the customer reaches to Bank to express his concern there is no one to listen and give positive response.I was struggling in each and every Dept.for long hours in a day but no one is ready to help me out in this case.
If Such Things happen how anybody can be safe to have an Account with ICICI Bank and can trust that his money is currently safe in the bank.
Please help me in this case as I am in urgent need of money. I am mentally harassed due to this problem and need to beg money from some of my relatives and friends to fulfill my daily needs.
Kindly provide your help in debiting back this amount into my account along with the penalties which revolves around this due to this mental trauma which I am facing currently.
