I have been holding a ICICI credit card for the last 10 years. My last month statement due was Rs. 28,259/- and I dropped a cheque for the same amount on 4th April, but to my surprise I received a SMS three days later that the bank has received a cheque for only Rs. 9,396/- which is utterly false. I have been following it up with their customer care for the last three weeks and I have spoken with more than a dozen executives and three supervisors and I have been getting totally weird answers.
One person informed that I had filled up the wrong credit card number and then when I challenged him as to how that would make Rs. 28,259/- as 9,396/- he casually replied that some other customer would have wrongly filled up my credit card number in his cheque.
Another supervisor was challenging me that the cheque amount has been filled up as 9,396/- alone by me. When I asked her to send me the scanned copy of the cheque, she then took her statement back.
I registered a complain online with the service request number "SR[protected]" . Without taking any action, they have simply closed the complaint stating that they are not able to reach me.
Whenever I reach their customer care and ask them to transfer to the supervisor, they simply cut the call.
So, much for the service. Now they have put interest charges in the current bill for their mistake.
