Hello Meru Management Team,

I am writing this complaint so that appropriate action could be taken to save guard the diminishing prestige / reliability of brand - MERU Radio Cabs.

I booked the cab on 22-Jan-2017 at 9:14 PM in the evening.

Source : T3 Terminal, Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Destination: Faridabad, Sector 7.
Cab Number: DL1-RY-8102
Pre-paid amount: Rs 1348

Following are my complaints: -

1) First of all the driver told me the tolls are extra to be paid from me which is apart from the pre-paid amount.
When i spoke about it with the guy who booked the cab, he confirms that tolls are included in paid fair and he instructed driver that no separate toll is to be collected.

2) Driver argued and told he will not follow the route where toll is present and he took the alternative route which was more congested.

3) The cab was awfully smelling like anything, I felt like vommetting throughout the journey.

4) When i asked to switch on cab A/C, he switched for minutes and then again switched off and opened window to inhale polluted outside air.

5) On top, he refused to give me electronic bill and gave a hand written memo.

This kind of stupid service was never expected from a brand like MERU. I will never take this service anytime going forward and will make sure this message is circulated to many such forums to help other fellow Indians.

    Hi meru,

    Today (Jan 10, 2017) i took meru cab (Mh01ja5936) and paid by freecharge wallet.
    Rupees 835 has been deducted twice from wallet, total deduction rupees 1670.00.
    Amount was deducted once in morning 0800 (Meru cab company private limited y7cqawaurine5w_52266479_11pin1, tue jan 10 2017, 08:00:14)
    And then in noon around 1328 hrs (Meru cab company private limited y7cqawaurine5w_fc[protected][protected]_11pin1, tue jan 10 2017, 13:27:56) after i recharged my freecharge account with 300 rupees.

    No of transaction is also same. I have mail this discrepancy to meru feedback mail id but no response or acknowledgement from them yet.

    I feel like cheated by company, please check and revert the transaction done twice. Ie return inr 835 back.

      I travelled from airport to virupakshapura today 2.30 am which is 27kms. As per the Meru rates from the web it came to 23*22+88 = rs 594. The metered bill showed rs 772, driver asked me for rs 1000 and when I asked why 1000 when meter shows 772, I haven't upgraded the meter, Meru charges has increased for mid night. Had a long fight asking him to show rule book etc, finally he took rs 800 and left scolding bad words. He also drove overspeed and roughly there was 22 times warning voice. When I ask for the invoice he was giving manual bill and not from Meru saying print is not working. I couldn't get any of his number. Could you please let me know what is the price for the distance I travelled and what actions will be against such cheat drivers and breaking traffic rules.? Also toll booth fees was paid by me.

        I boarded a Meru Airport taxi from Bangalore Airport @ 1.10 AM on 26th November. The driver started the cab and asked my location after few minutes on the one way exit. I told him the drop location, which is my residence near Kannuru (should be around 20+ kmts ). He informed me that the "company" has informed him not to take the straight route as it is unsafe at night and took a complete round through Ring Road. My bill was 984 Rupees. It usually costs me 350 bucks max! There was no bill, I unfortunately did not note the number as I was too tired. My drop was around 2.10 AM. I called Meru call center and they informed that the company has not informed drivers about avoiding routes for night time "safety" - he just conned me !
        I would like to get a refund, I believe the driver throughly cheated me by misleading and taking advantage of the hour of travel!!

          U have not replied to my query that i have received only 450 and loss of 79rs and phone chargers of more than 100 due to wrong information by yogiraj.
          So pl compensate for my loss.
          I have hired meru cab from airport to mulund on 9 nov and payment linked to wallet,
          The driver was insisting for cash payment even though my wallet was limked,
          The support team asked me to make payment in cash and assured refund and also he will compensate for cashback,
          They did not respond to my complaint and phone call and now they have kept silent regarding my loss

            I booked meru cab as usual through app on my mobile and was assigned cab no. Mho2 wa 9319, toyota etios model and i was extremely appalled at the condition of the cab. I boarded the taxi and started at 9.33 am from my home at siddhanchal phase v to nariman point. Once the taxi started moving i realised the true condition of the cab i am travelling in. The suspension was completely damaged and the a/c was functioning upto only 30% capacity.in essence the cap was not at all road worthy and was calling for major overhaul to make it road worthy. I complained to mr. Raj sharma of meru who, after my explaining the comndition requested me to board another can by booking from my app which i tried and the app did not accept my booking since i was already in a cab. I had long altercation with him and finally i went in the same cab to the destination as i was getting late. I paid the full amount to the driver.

            The driver of the cab mentioned to me that he has complained several times to the management about the condition of the cab and the need for immediate maintenance, but the management will not respond. How on earth road unworthy cabs are being plyed by meru cabs. No doubt the competition in this market is very hot, so much so that maintenance is completely overlooked.

              Booked a meru cab in advance for 10:05am on 15th September 2016 from kodigehalli to Jeevanbima Nagar, but the driver said he is very far from my destination so please book another cab. I called up meru customer care, they told that the same driver will reach you in sometime. After 5 minutes I got a call from another meru cab driver saying he would be coming to pick me up in another 20 minutes. After 15 minutes I called the driver multiple times, he did not pick up my call. I called up their customer care they again asked me to wait 15 minutes and told the driver would come and they will arrange a call back from him, but it did not happen. I again called up customer care after 15 minutes and said that from past 15 minutes the driver's position on map has not changed (used tracker to track cab), but again this time another customer care exec asked me to wait 10 minutes and said they would arrange a call back. Keep note, it is already more than an hour me waiting for meru cab which was booked 2 hours before the actual ride. So after 10 minutes meru exec calls me saying there is no cab available you will have to book your cab again. I asked them to book me a cab as it is their responsibility to provide me cab since they gave confirmation earlier, they agreed and said ExactoMeter and no other discount would be applicable if they will arrange a cab, for which I was ok and they agreed too, but nothing happened. Finally I went out took an auto.

              This is very disappointing, after waiting for an hour plus I am being told they cannot provide cab. I am sharing my experience with all the present and future meru users as do not rely on meru cab alone. I wonder how they are giving assured airport drop service.

                The driver charged me in cash rs. 700, despite being charged for the journey on my mobikwik wallet for the amount of rs.145.
                The cab driver pretended he did not know the way and gps not working.
                He charged me rs. 700 in cash from my location in andheri east to marine lines, mumbai and did not give any receipt for it, saying that his meter is not working.
                Please refund the amount that has been over charged by meru driver and take appropriate action on him.

                Below resolution was provided- [Our chauffeurs are instructed to charge only the actual bill amount with the addition of toll taxes and other charges (as applicable). We assure you that we have investigated the matter, and the chauffeur has been reprimanded and monetarily penalized. He has been placed under surveillance and in the event of a repeat instance shall be liable to termination.] As revolved by Meru Cabs customer service. The issue has been resolved by Meru customer service by refunding the excess amount of the journey charged by the driver via NEFT.

                  This i sregarding my trip from gurgaon sec 49 to sec 81, noida.
                  There has been a gross fraud with me. The driver has taken inr 1818 from me but i have not received any bill as yet, moreover the trip has not been recorded as the driver said his connection wasnot working & i shall receive a detailed bill if i call up meru customer care. How can meru delete trip history from my account.
                  On calling meru customer care on 4th aug they said they would mail me they would mail me the bill within 2 days.
                  I have no received the bill, i did receive ta mail from siddharth menon with no attachment, i have mailed back several times requesting for a bill /attachment, no response.

                  How can the driver take money from me when you are not giving me a bill, how do i verify the money taken from me was correct or not.
                  Moreover the driver took a longer route to get on to nh8 from my house. I demand my bill with the correction/refund in the amount due to a longer route taken.

                  Meru has no right to make fool of customers, only because we as customers cant do anything about your frauds.

                    On 01 aug 16 at about 1700 hrs. My niece alone booked a cab from airport to jalahalli east cab no ka53a7466 driver mr. Manjunath she asked him to follow nes – ms paliya which is 26 km distance in one way. Driver could not listen and he took her via habbal which is 35.2 km, she became afraid of driver and call me up i advised him you safely come here language then he said whatever you can do you do it my name is manjunath. Letter on on complain cell of meru cab i made a complain to mr. Vishwa still no respond from meru cab after 3 days i rang up talked with ms. Manisha still no joy.
                    My question is?
                    Are any lady passenger is safe to ride alone with meru?
                    Is this the way you behave to your passengers.
                    Is meru thinking his driver done it ethicaly precise?

                      Hi Meru,

                      This was the last ride I took yesterday night were Rs 350 got deducted from my account and also driver behaved harshly. I paid and still it got deducted from my account.
                      The driver took long routes and also intensly struck in traffic.
                      Is this the way you behave to your passengers.
                      This is not the ethical way man.

                      Please pay my money back and give me compensation.

                      I will again file a complaint if money dint come.

                        Most of the times when I travel with Meru Cabs, the cab drivers charge toll charges, airport car parking fees even though in the original receipt of the bill summary those charges are already included. So clearly this is a very easy way for drivers to earn money by befooling the customers. It is not possible to check bills each and every time from mail account instantly to argue with those drivers. Cab authorities must think and find the solution for this growing problem to get back customers faith on them.

                          I want to share an (Horrifying) experience with meru cabs today.

                          I booked a trip from yemlur to r. T nagar (Approx. 15kms) in bangalore at 7.30pm and the below message chain is self-explanatory and explains the frustration. (Note: i deleted the message received at 7.45pm by mistake but i remember the driver assigned was mr. Nagaraj). 4 drivers were assigned to pick up and none of them turned up. Every time, i had to call the driver, who in turn would give me reasons for not coming and ask me to call meru call center. The call center folks would assign one more driver and the story repeats. I also an automated call to check if i informed the driver that i didn’t want to continue the trip, which was never the case.

                          Funny part of the story is, i also got a trip report for the ride that i didn’t make (I can provide the report if required). Looks like everything is possible with meru. This is not the first time that its happening but i have had similar experiences in the past as well.

                          I had to attend an important family function and meru ensured i missed attending it ontime. Finally i reached the place through ola. Though the price was high, atleast they turned up in time of need.

                          Even now, i am not sure if this message would reach you. But if it reaches, i hope you would be able to understand the pain that customers like us go through. I count on you and your management team to ensure such incidents doesn’t recur again.

                            I am writing this letter in regards to the horrible service provided by Meru Cab.
                            I booked a Cab one day advanced on 22nd June 2016 for my parents for pick up at Taj Gateway Resort Damdama Lake Gurgaon. They assured the booking for next day for 1:00pm.and as their policy 20 min prior information will b provided. We were very ok with that. But first of all I did not receive any msg 20 mins prior, infact I called on customer care for that. Even after that no msg came only driver called me, just to reassure myself I called Meru once more time to confirm the dirver name on the very moment at 1.00pm (the time of pickup) they denied that pickup is not possible no driver is available. Driver denied me even and then I ask the customer care to put me to the senior customer support. They transferred the call to (MS. SHAGUFTA, Floor in-charge) even she denied. I kept on requesting even I fought but she denied by saying find some alternative. I was all helpless at that point and shocked that my parents are waiting their how they will be back now. They were all alone there. How this big brand Meru could be so harsh and rude that they can leave people like this in such a big Trouble. My parents got really in trouble.
                            Apart from that I called driver that keep this Meru apart you help me out I will give you double money you please go and pickup my parents but he was so dam greedy that he asked not only double he asked 10 times more money.                             This can happen with anyone. I don’t want more people or parents like mine who are dependent on us suffer so much.

                              Hi Meru Team,

                              I am getting customer support calls for your meru flexi and meru gini car on my personal mobile number 9167XXXX60.

                              Drivers working with meru give me a call asking for Suri or Surinder Kaur. They tell me that they are facing issues regarding their account lock, device ID, payments, etc. they even yell at me if I tell them that I don't work with meru . When asked from where they got my number, drivers tell me "Yeh to Support ne diya hai[protected]". I have reported this issue to meru support center, people tell me some one will call back to resolve the issue and till date no has turned up except the drivers having number of issues to be solved.

                              Meru Team can you please update your customer support number. And provide the same to the drivers. Also server them better.

                              P.S. - Don't share your employees personal number as support number.

                              I was not interested in writing all this, but I am facing call since last 5 months and have called your support around 4 times...but no response from your team.

                                I booked a meru cab on Sunday (29 may 2016) evening for Monday morning 4:45am pickup.
                                Though we got SMS with driver details till 4:45 am, no one turned up. We tried calling the driver and no one picked up the call either. When we called meru customer service, they sent us another vehicle. Overall 15 min delay and I'm not sure I will recommend or book meru again as the trustworthiness is significantly detoriating.
                                No regrets, calls from meru to check what happened to me or my travel. At the min they should not charge clients for the mentally stress they give I'm situations like this.

                                  I am one of the many unsatisfied customers of meru cabs.
                                  The story of my dissatisfaction is as follows...
                                  - i booked a cab through meru cabs app 4-5 days before my intended day of travel i. E. 18/05/2016
                                  - i confirmed my booking by calling at the meru cab call center.
                                  - i got message that your booking is confirmed and you will get the details of cab driver 20 minutes before your pick up time.
                                  - i also got the details of the cab driver about 45 minutes before my pick up time..
                                  Untill this it was going good...

                                  Then the downfall of my satisfaction began...
                                  - in the message with the cab drivers detail, it was mentioned that you will receive call from the driver before the pick up time... — no call received before the pick up time...
                                  - so losing my patience i called the cab driver and in response what i am getting is that i haven't got your booking so you call the call center for further information...
                                  - so i called the call center and i was told that we will communicate with the cab driver and will let you know and then i was kept on hold for around 5 minutes.. And then in response what i am getting is that " according to the conversation with the driver, cab is in break down and there was a tyre puncture.
                                  - so my 1st biggest cause of dissatisfaction was that why differences in the answers given by the cab driver and the guy at the call center. Why such cheating?
                                  - now the guy at the call center tells me that he can arrange me a new cab in 10-15 minutes but that you cannot use the promocode used while booking done through the meru cab app.
                                  - now again my 2nd biggest cause of dissatisfaction was that why promocode can not be used since the fault was from your side... And even you people didn't approached me and i approached you for not arrival of the cab...

                                    This is in reference to booking id: 49575801. I ordered a cab for my elderly parents who were accompanying a heart patient. I called them during the pick up time on [protected] to ask if the cab has arrived or not. They made me hold on the phone and called up the driver. I get a response from their executive that the drive isn't picking up our call. (Driver name: mohd akram mh01ja9735). I told them the scenario that this is a hospital pick up. They said that they'll immediately arrange another cab. After whole 15 mins no call or no cab turned up and the patient was left standing on the road. A heart patient. When called up their executive moin apologizd and told me due to non availability of the cabs, the cabs are coming from far who it will take a good half an hr. I was like wtf. When spoken to their supervisor she said that the cabs were available. There is no communication within them selves and eventually i had to cancel their cabs. These guys cannot be trusted for hospital pickups. No wonder why uber and ola are famous. These guys are a sham! I hope mr. Siddharth pahwa is seeing this sham! Bloody non sense

                                      Dear Sir,

                                      I am writing to put you on legal Notice that I have suffered financial loss and mental harassment and business loss due to negligence to your company.

                                      I have booked the car on 7th April, 2016 for 6.00 am on 8th April from my residence ( Pratap Nagar, Jail Road, opp Tihar Jail ) to Delhi Airport. I got call at 5, 20 am from a driver from Noida saying that I cannot come to my address at west delhi and he has already informed your customer care. then I got again call from some driver at 5.45am from Dwarka again very far from place and will take minimum 20-25 minutes which is too late for me.


                                      Therefore, I could not reach on time Airport and missed my flight. As I was supposed to reach Chennai Court in legal matter, I booked instantly another flight ticket at 13000/- and went to Chennai. Since I reached late, I missed the important hearing in court matter and penalized by court for non appearance.

                                      I lodged complaint with your customercare but till date have not heard reply from your side. It is very pathetic that your company has not bothered to revert.

                                      The matter does not end here. I have to travel again hence I again made booking for MERU on 10.05.2016 night for next date services from my residence to Airport at morning 6.20am. this time I have explained customer care executive to note my address properly so that no such incidence again happen as happened on 8th April, 2016.

                                      Again same thing happened, got driver’s number at 6.20 am. When I dialed his number, driver told me that he is in Noida and he already informed MERU that he cannot take this ride. When I approached again customercare that what happened to my booking, they said they are helpless and cannot arrange the taxi for airport and sent me message for non availability of vehicle and they are sorry for that.
                                      Again, due to callousness of MERU I got to miss this flight, but this time I arranged / requested private taxi driver to drop me at Airport, for which I paid double charges.

                                      Now I am forced to take legal action against MERU in consumer court for the mental harassment, physical harassment, financial loss and even losing my job because of non appearance in the court matter.

                                      I need explanation within one week, otherwise I will compel to take legal action.

                                      No resolution till date. once I received called from their customer care 15 days back informing me that they are working on my complaint. but thereafter no communication. how does my complaint stands resolved??????

                                        On the 6th april morning 6:00 am the driver kamla shankar yada, car no: mh03bc2039 indica (Meru cabs), dropped me at the mumbai international airport (T2). He did not stop the meter on his phone & hence i was not given the bill. Even when i asked him he told me that he will not provide any bill come what may, apart from this he also cancelled the trip on system from his side. On the 6th morning itself i registered my complaint about the driver & no bill at 6:30 am. The caller there alpa told me that my complaint was registered & that within 2 working days i would get the bill. Today (8th april) again i called up (After 2 working days) & a caller harish singh said that nothing has happened on this so far & another 2 working days would have to happen. This is complete harassment on part of meru cabs which claim to provide good customer service.

                                        Driver demanded toll money extra and they will give bill for this...also driver denied to accept the wallet payment...

                                        When I open meru always it ask to recharge the wallet.., I've made a recharge but driver is not accepting the wallet payment
