Sub: New Pureit with used kit (battery)
I purchased Advance 23 ltr Pureit on 22.10.2014 from M/S Rudra Enterprise, Asansol-4 (Mob. No. [protected]) under exchange offer. Their men brought the equipment at my house and install it, took Rs. 2500/- and get my signature on the cash memo no. 6247 dated 22.10.14.
After draining out first water completely through tap I used the water and found the presence of chlorine smell. I again drained out the water completely through the tap but the smell did not go.
I lodged my complaint on 24.10.2014 vide no. C[protected] with pureit customer care . On 26.10.2014 I was given wrong information by Pureiy Custermer care through SMS that my complaint has been attended.
I made several calls to Mr. Katik Team Leader of Pureit Asansol who admitted that the carbon polisher is broken and promised me to replace it.
Just now I opened the equipment as per the instruction given in the manual and found that the dealer has willfully given the used and old Advanced Microfiber Mesh and Carbon Polisher. I found that Advanced Microfiber Mesh is dirty and carbon Polisher is broken.
My Serial No. of my Pureit Advance 23 ltr is RPA [protected].
It is shame on the part of Hindustan Unilever to supply such product which is the concern of health of people.
I, therefore, expect that my your team shall attend and replace the used kits immediately.

For one, the contact number that you get on the SMS that 'promises' to send the e-voucher by the coming Saturday is one digit short ([protected]). If you manage to find the actual number (I assumed that the last digit was missing and tried all 10 combinations) - [protected] - they do not pick the call at all. Even if they pick the call, they just say that they are facing a problem with bookmyshow.com, ask for your name and phone number and say that you will get it in a day or two.
I have managed to reach the 1800 number thrice (after trying it about two dozen times) and have got the same reply each time. When I asked them for a complaint number, they said that there is none; when I asked to speak to their manager, I was told rudely that that person is not available.
I have spoken to many others and everyone is facing the same issue; one of the affected parties is a member of a reputed consumer forum. He has contacted the stores around his area and has started taking signatures from the affected people. We will be escalating this to the consumer council soon.
