I had purchased a Dell computer in 2006 only to realize that it was a BIG mistake. Since then I have never been happy with the product. I have used a lot of Dell machines and have never found its quality comparable to other makes. The computer overheated and burned my motherboard. Dell without checking what was wrong asked me to replace the mother board. Since I could not buy a motherboard from any other vendor I was stuck. I paid Rs. 16000 to replace the motherboard and renew the warranty.

Three months later Dell's service center refuses to acknowledge that the warranty is renewed and does not respond to my emails. They have ignored my repeated requests to escalate the matter.

    The service tag number is H31W4BS. The complaint no is 7803406. The complaint is that the laptop switches off randomly. The fan associated with the laptop does not seem to run when the laptop switches off due to overheating. I have complained umpteenth number of times and even though with the help of the customer care have downloaded new bios and run almost all their diagnostic support, unable to rectify the problem. Told those guys to visit our home but they dont bother....Can anyone help me out of this..I never expected such behavior from DELL...I will never, ever recommend a DELL to my relatives again.......

      hi,

      this is bhoopendra. i have purchased dell inspiron 1440 laptop. i got the big battery problem within warrenty. battery is getting discharged within 10 min , and some popup is coming "consider replacing your battery". regarding this i called and had email conversation with dell customer service but their technical support is giving lot of excuses and are not ready to replace the battery. even they are offering to buy a new battery. after making every attempt this is the last platform i am seeking help from. plz help me in this case.

      Hi, I have the same problem. My battery no. is similar KR-0K456N[protected]B1-A00. Discharges every 10 mts. its hopeless. I started getting these wierd time to change battery alerts when my system was less than a year old. Unreliable brand, Dell!

        Sir , i call at dell customer care 3-4 days(near about to 28 july 2010) before about my battery problem under the warranty period but from dell customer i have got negative response that is they inform me that the laptop warranty period is expire.But i have a slip of purchasing on which date of purchaing is 6-AUG-2009. After that dell customer not reply me .
        Again, I call dell customer care but they not respond me.

        I recently purchased a Dell 1545 and it has never worked properly.
        The keyboard is not working right and even though Dell changed the computer, the new computer has the same problem.
        I believe this is white elephant and if they do not get me a working computer soon I will have to take
        further action.

        I purchased the DELL Inspiron 1545 in june 2009. It is not doing work properly. Some applications are not working. Even it is not being shut down properly.
        OMG...the same with me. I bought the Dell 1545 in August and have had hell with Dell! They just sent me another supposedly 'new' computer and it is doing the same thing as the original. The keyboard is all screwed up. If, and I say a big IF, you can type 3 lines the system usually deletes the message. Chatting between friends is just not happening b/c of the screwups with the keyboard. I, like you, have had it with Dell. I want my money back and will never ever buy another Dell nor will I recommend a Dell to anyone...ever!

        my adapter is not charging the battery of the laptop but still it is showing 'plugged in status'.

          I have booked a notebook STUDIO 15 . paid Rs.. 60725 on 17/07/2010. after fighting with Ms. Deepa sales manager and Mr.Kiran salesman till 20th Jlu they issued 5 orders on the same day

          till today I was unable to get the delivery date. Now the new problem is they the customer service is confirms that they have not received the payment yet. I do not know the sales team is doing misusing the amount. we are yet to understand.

          add to problem the sale team refuse to even to attend the call. the movement they that the caller, they simple disconnect the call. Again you have to go through the
          toll free no .

          All I can see is that they are unfit to business in India.

          the Dell is cheat 420 company.

          that is why they are not able to get the dealer network.

          All you can see that from last 12 days they issued only 130 sales orders.
          on all India basis

          To-day Ms. Deepa sales manager spoke to me and confirm the delivery date as 4th August2010. If this is not going to happen, I will fill a compliant in the consumer court and teach them a lesson.

          I will wait and see till 4th August..

          i am a bsnl subscriber from last 5years but i am totally unsatisfied with this company because of the poor network. i never get any messages from this company about any new schemes from the purchase of my sim and the calls are also being disconnected everytime. when ever i try to call somebody it shows connection error. i request you to please concentrate on my problem as soon as possible.
          I also facing the same issue & going to launch complaint againest them, I book order two three time online with the sales excutive but not getted any response till that, when i am trying to call them online they are just transferring the call no body is responding. I appeal to all nobody shold buy DELL notebook as service/ feedback is very poor
          I made order on 07/08/2010 still it is not delivered... They told 3rd Aug it will be delivered. Today i contacted the customer care executive, they are telling it will take another 10 to 12 days which they can't confirm. This is disgusting order management by DELL. They reason for this they telling we dont have enough parts in production. If they don't have why the hell they are taking orders. I going to complaint to consumer court.

          I am also one of the you, who feel cheated. I have bought a brand new dell laptop.

          First of all, Same problem, Delivery Date issue. I waited gently for my laptop till expected delivery date. But all my waiting went in vain. On that day, I called customer care, They told me, We have installed new software thats why it got late. After another 5 days, i got my laptop.

          Not even this blindly trusting Dell, I have placed order without actually seeing laptop what i would be getting. That is the BIGGEST MISTAKE, I have made. The configuration is same that i have ordered but model was older than that of my friend who have got his Dell laptop 5 months before.

          One Key of my keypad is not working fine. It is very hard to press that key. Firstly, I ignore that issue. But I later thought, Before it become an issue, Its better to call Dell support(on the 10th day of delivery of my dell laptop i.e. 20th sept 2010). They told me to run some diagnostic software where it is not showing any problem. They told me that it is not covered in hardware support.

          Tell me Dell people what the hell is covered in hardware support. Instead they told me to buy full accidental warranty by paying another Rs 8500. then they will see the issue.

          So Guys, DO NOT BUY DELL LAPTOP. NEVER BUY DELL LAPTOP!!!

          Its better to go for another trust worthy whose laptop quality is far good than that of DELL. They will sell you what you have seen and not whatever they want.

          i have ordered a dell lap top on[protected] and estimeated delivery date is 29 the Nov..but still if i check my order status on there site, it is shown as manufacturing complete.if i cal customer person and sales person they are saying it is due to wrong down load.i dontno how much time wil it take to re download the correct one..when i cal customer service and ask them to transfer it to sales department till 11.30 am there is no one...

            I purchased a DELL MINI1210 LAPTOP FROM DELL on the 18th of March, 2010. The Laptop started developing problems with its Hard Disk and Display and was inspected and repaired by DELL engineers twice. On the third occasion which is on 18th June, the Display failed and the engineer said that this model is no longer in production and cannot be repaired. So he will have my laptop picked up and replaced. My laptop was picked up from me on the 1st of July and I was promised a replacement by 10th July.

            Now when I have tried tracking my replacement no one at DELL takes the responsibility of providing me with an answer. The customer care numbers[protected] and[protected], keep bouncing calls from one extension to the other. The Head of the replacement dept is on training since the last 14 days and is not available for help or comment.

            I have not managed to loose both my money Rs.18, 500/- and my laptop. There is no one at DELL who is answerable for this theft.

              I bought my a laptop dell inspiron 1464 one year ago, but it had started to give problems within one month of it's purchase, during second month it's charger had stopped working since that time it was on one year warranty period so they replaced the charger.. after some months speakers had stopped working, they replaced speaker, but i think dat was not only speakers problem, there was some problem in it's motherboard, since motherboard costs expensive they told me that motherboard is ok, now it's warranty has expired and it has some problem in motherboard but now they say that i have to spend 10 to 12 thousand on it, or i have to purchase warranty of one year worth Rs. 14000, I am very much disappointed, Dell laptop is not reliable, it starts to give problem even before it's warranty. Don't invest ur money on dell as u can use it hardly one year.

              I am a Ubuntu user.I was having problem with my speakers, and I know that they are burnt. i have called dell 3-4 times. Every time I call dell they say repeat and repeat saying update BIOS, unknowingly that it cant be updated through Linux. They are just dumb.
              I am fed up of this dell service in spite of giving 8000 RS for accidental damage .

                I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop on 13/7/2006 with a service tag number 3ZB6L1S. There have been many problems in my system from the day I purchased it but Dell always gave me a good response till my system was covered with warranty.

                On March 2010, the AC adapter of my laptop got damaged and I decided to purchase a new AC adapter from dell. On the next day I called dell customer support and told them that I want to purchase a new AC adapter for my laptop; the customer care representative said they don’t have it in stock and that they need to import it from Malaysia. Executive also told me that the import will take around 4 to 6 weeks and asked me if I am willing to wait for the import. On saying that I am ready to wait, he collected my email id and then said he will be sending me an email in next 24 hours through which I will be able to purchase the AC Adapter.

                Opposite to the expectation, I did not receive any mail. After waiting for 2 days, I again called the customer support and again explained my problem and told that I want to purchase a new AC Adapter. But the same whole thing was repeated again and never got a reply from dell.

                I sent an email to [protected]@dell.com (I used this id earlier to buy dell parts) but did not receive any reply from this also.

                After waiting for 1 week again, I called customer care and he again told me that I have to wait for around 2 months for purchasing it. After telling him that it is not logical to wait for a computer part for 2 months, he told me that I could get my laptop’s warranty extended for which an overall cost of around Rs. 8000 needs to be paid and then they can give me a new charger from so called “Warranty Stock”. It seemed very illogical to me and I contacted the dell service center in Ernakulum Kerala. But they said they can not do anything as my laptop is not covered under warranty.

                I have called dell customer support for almost 25 times in 45 days. But I did not receive a responsible answer from them. When the last time I called the customer support representative he clearly told me that I have to wait for another 45 days for the import. It has been around 45 days I am struggling for purchasing the new AC Adapter but dell’s response does not seem to solve my problem. I am really disappointed by the irresponsible behavior of dell.

                I have one more Dell laptop and for that also the same thing happened. Mouse pad of the second laptop got damaged and on asking for repair, I was asked to extend the warranty (roughly around Rs. 8000) and then only my laptop could be repaired.

                From my experiences with Dell, I have observed that every-time I ask for repair, Dell asks me to extend my warranty which so far has turned 4-5 time costlier than the repair cost. Its really unethical (and illegal) to ask the customer to extend for warranty every time there is a repair required and I think it doesn't make sense for me to get my warranty extended (Rs. 8000) for a charger which will roughly cost me around Rs. 2000
                Only after sending a Legal Notice to Dell's head office in Bangalore they have agreed to take the order but even after 2 months of taking the order the part is not shipped. I don't know what to do with these fat skinned animals. Kindly help

                DELL — Payment made but goods not received

                My daughter made a payment of Rs.7750/ for one adapter and 6 cell battery for her lapto DELL STUDIO 1535 on 16/11/2009 through one Ms MEGHA over cell phone. Payment received confirmation was made by DELL through mail. They promised that the items will be recdived within 7 to 10 working days. But till date these have not been received. The payment has been confirmed from my credit card statement from ICICI Bank too. The payment was made to VIDUR AND CO PVT LTD. When contacted this company, even they showed their inability.
                completely agree with the above.
                Bottom line is Dell is the crappiest laptops to buy, its like buying a car in india which does not have any service center.

                I face the same issue with my laptop screen frame. and the fact is that in this great nation of ours u can file any number of consumer court cases but u will not get justice in things like this no matter what. Dell never informs its customers before hand that they do not have after sales support unless the laptop is in warranty.

                They only way is to make sure you dont buy a dell laptop. If anyone has any info about a laptop repair shop somewhere in delhi or bangalore or gurgaon where they buy the dell parts illegally and do jugadu repairs please let me know... my email is [protected]@yahoo.com and cell phone is [protected].

                  Dell Vostro 1510 Laptop — Error In HardDisk 3rd time facing problem

                  Whenever i start may system. After 1 min. it will shows a blue screen and restart automatically. And I have changed my harddisk earlier but this problem I m facing again.

And the most Important Thing is this Laptop falls under the category of Defected laptops and this laptop will Fail soon due to Nvidia Graphic card Failure. U can check list to defected laptop on Dell official Website. They have 15 models including Dell vostro 1510.                     I had booked a laptop with Dell India Pvt ltd & they charged the amount of Rs 51827/on to my credit card and the aproval No is 811069.

                    Inspite of repated follow ups they have not at delivered the laptop and everytime they are giving new excuses.Now the money has also been debited from my credit card account and they are calling me back and asking me for several details like my credit card no expiry date etc.

                    they are just harasing me without delivering the product to my address and they does not even have the courtousy to exp[lain me why they are taking so much time.

                    hii ,I baught a dell laptop and got its delievery on 8-feb-2010. along with the laptop i also paid seperate amount (Rs 990) for Mcafee with 15mnths subscription.but after checking my system it was subscribed for just 1 mnth. i have been sending them email again and again but not getting any reply that by when they can resolve my issue.so please help me out into this matter .I am providing details about my order:

                    and address hence it cannot be delevered. i informed kishor same he said today porb will be solved but since last 5 days my product is remained in chennai nothing is change.

                    Now i am not intrested to buy any dell product
                    please help me what to do

                          I have purchased one desktop PC on 23 July 2010 of your brand Dell from Kings Electronics, Nerul, Navi Mumbai INDIA.My keyboard is not functioning since 15 days. My work is held up.

                          I have reported this to the dealer (Kings Electonics)and they have given me your customer care numbaer to lodge a complaint.

                          I lodged the complaint but no action from your side. You kept mum for more than 48 hours. Then I get forced to call you again.

                          Your customer care procedure is not friendly. First of all you try to frustrate your customer to keep on hold and more over followed by instruction to press this or that number many times.

                          Another your customer care starts bombarding all technical question which as a user I am not suppose to know.

                          If you are giving warranty why you are not sending your people for remedy else just tourture your customer to not to ask for warranty what you have promised at time of purchase.

                          You think once you have sold and got your money your responsibility ends.

                          This attitude will not yield you reapeted customer. And, one customer can make lot of difference to your business, please mind it. This is a business truth.

                                  I had a bad experience with Sales rep mr. Jatin Ahuja Inside Sales Account Manager Dell India Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon, India. He is very Rude and mannerless . He turned me fully down for buying Dell Laptop . His communication skills was not upto the mark . I never expected such a kind of service from Dell . If anybody from Dell is listening then i request you to take proper action against such sales people so that the reputation of dell should not come down .

                                  Within 24 hours of making payment of Rs.51930/- for Dell Studio 15R, this extremely pathetic representative Mr. Jatin Ahuja, has called me saying that dell no longer manufactures - 15.6 " Full HD(1080p)WLED (1920 x 1080)Display with TrueLife.
                                  Which I absolutely fail to believe.

                                  Why didn't this gentleman inform me of the same before processing my order?????

                                  and to top it all he is giving me lame excuses for choosing other resolutions over this one!!!

                                    Dear Sir,
                                    I am Sandhya Kurupath, owning a Dell Inspiron 1545 since Jan 2010. I am presently working in Bhutan. My laptop started giving complaints one month after purchase. After contacting the outlet from where I purchased it, I was told to carry in my laptop. Now I came down all the way from Bhutan to Bangalore to get it serviced. I approached the Dell service centre in Koramangala, Bangalore on 08 July ’10. They assured me that the hard drive will be replaced and I will get it back by Tuesday, 13 July ’10. As per their assurance, I had to postpone my travel back to Bhutan and extend my stay. Later, on 09 July 2010, they gave me a call to say that they are not sure of rectifying the problem by Tuesday and it may prolong further. I had explained my time constraint, which they had readily accepted and given me the date. This negligence on the part of service engineers while assuring me is costing me TIME and MONEY. I had even spoken to the online technical support team regarding the same. They too didn’t respond well. I am quite unhappy with the service given by the Dell support team in Bangalore. The staffs are not consumer friendly.
                                    Atlast, an engineer Mr. Amith, asked me not to be frustrated and get back to Bhutan and they will direct a technician to my location in Bhutan. How is it possible, when they can’t help me when I walked into the service centre in Bangalore. It’s quite disgusting. The money and time I have spent is worth purchasing a brand new laptop. The saddest part is that I couldn’t use my laptop for more than a month. Anticipating your kind gesture,

                                    dell 1545 — hard disk

                                    I have bought dell inspiron 1545 laptop a year ago.all the parts r performing quite normally,but if I install any software of about 10 MB the disk space reduces about 1GB.then it never restored even restarted.I have presently 112 GB of disk space,but if I add all the size of the programs in my local drive (C) I get about 152 GB free space but it shows about 112 GB.please tell me if there is a solution to fox this problem.
                                    note:my total disk space is 250 GB and that of local drive (C) is 218 GB.
                                    That's true.The service team in Bangalore is very poor in technicality and behaviour wise

                                        As per the comments logged by all the sufferred customers this seems a very known and common problem that the Dell laptop batteris are fraudulent and the Comapany (DELL) is cheating on their customers. I am among the suffered one, the strange thing here is, exactly after onew year or warranty (for Laptop) the battery is going dead. it has happened with almost everyone.

                                        Some tough action must be taken against it. If not directly suing DELL then at least a best weapon is Mouth Publicity, like earlier I was suggesting people to go for DELL but after this experience, I would strongly oppose and suggest for any other better option but not DELL if they are not listening.

                                        And I know at least in India it works better than anything, lets bring DELL's market down.

                                        Let them suffer the way they did to us.

One of my friend having very BAD and Unacceptable response from Senior Manager of DELL, Read His Problem with DELL, and Arguments of DELL, Than share your reviews in COMMENT.

                                        Hi,

                                        I am one of your valuable customers. I have purchased a laptop from you company Model inspirion 1525 on Date: 28th march 2008. The same is in the warranty period which gets expired at the end of this month. I am facing a problem with my Battery of the Laptop. My laptop is not working on the Battery Mode. For the same I tried to call the Toll Free number provided for N number of times. They told me to take a screen shot of the BIOS setup. First of all I don’t understand how we can take a screen shot from BIOS. Now after a long argument for more then 10 days I got the news that ‘ Battery has ended on usability life’ and the same is not covered under warranty period. I don’t understand how the battery can end usability life even though it is in warranty. What I understand is the quality of the battery used is not up to the mark, and if this is not the case I should have been informed well in advance about the same which I was not. I am not able to use my laptop without Battery .

                                        So, please take some action on the same and suggest me a solution for the same. Hope that I would get a response for this.

                                        I got a call from dell +[protected] at 4.15 on 19th March 2009 from one of your senior managers and he told me that it is mentioned on the dell site that we do not provide any warranty for battery near to one year. Now I don’t get what is your definition for the word Near. I did not expect such open ended and most irresponsible answer from a person who is holding a post of Sr. Manager in your company. I had very high expectations from DELL and I hope I can maintain the same in future.

                                        I am still in the same Stage and my Issue is not solved.
