I have been receiving harassing calls, sms & mails from hathway internet from the past 10 months. I had a prepaid broadband plan from hathway which i recharged in october'2018 and the plan was active till jan'2019. However, since we had to relocate to another place, i requested hathway team to transfer my active connection to the city i am moving in, but they said it is not possible. So, i asked them to disconnect my services without even asking for refund of the remaining period for which i will not be using their service. I had called them multiple times before my relocation and sent them mail as per instructions provided by customer care. But till the date i was in bangalore, there was no reply/call back or any response to collect their modem or complete any formalities for disconnection.
I kept waiting but there was no response from them until january 2019. They started calling, messaging & mailing me multiple times a day as due date for plan renewal was approaching.in spite of explaining them each time, that i will not be able to renew their plan, they have been harassing me till date. Recently, i also got an email from hathway stating that they will initiate legal action against me as i have not returned their modem. How am i supposed to return their modem now, when i have shifted to another city and left that house 1 year ago. I did not bother to carry along the modem/router with me as i felt when the company themselves is not interested, then why should i be worried about the modem.
I have attached the mail screenshot that i had sent to bangalore hathway customer care before my relocation requesting them to send executive to my home to complete disconnection formalities and collect modem/router, etc.
Till date these shameless people are calling/messaging me every day to recharge my connection. Also, they are threatening me that they will take legal action against me if i do not return their modem/pay for the loss. They have even updated my complaint stating that i have agreed to pay for the lost modem. This is totally false, i have never agreed to pay for the lost modem as i did not lose it, it's them who did not respond on time and did not collect it from my residence.
Please help me in getting relief from the continuous mental torture from these people.
