REFUSED TO CLAIM

I bought a Samsung mobile on19/08/10 of cost 10,000 rupee with the insurance of 500 for pick pocketing/theft. Unfortunately, on 24/03/11 mobile is picked by pick pocketer. The referred insurance company want a FIR for THEFT under Section IPC 379f or cognizable offence to make the claim. Police said they never make such FIR for a mobile pick pocketing. I am totally helpless with this regard....

    You have lodged a claim for Malaria with Gastritis for which you were admitted in xxxxx hospital on 01/1/2011 and discharged on 04/1/2011. After scrutinizing claim documents and on investigation it is observed that you have taken treatment by Dr. Xxxxx having BAMS -Ayurvedic physician and this allopathic treatment in claim file not admissible. Hence your claim has been repudiated as per policy terms and condition.

    is there a valid reasone or just making FOOL?????
    i'd purchased cell phone in sangeetha as i tried to claim insurance from oriental as the terms and condition given by the oriental.my mobile was theft while travelling from Tiptur to Tumkur as the terms and condition i gave complaint to nearest police station as my cell was less than 15000 and the police said that an FIR should be lodged to give the statements it was theft as the terms given in the policy only if the cell phone was above 15000 an FIR should be lodged so the statement was given that it was lost while travelling so i request you to reveal my policy and provide me justice.

      Dear Sir,

      I'm having a Oriental Insurance mediclaim policy family floater # 12400/48/2010/29650, under which I made a claim for Rs. 36000/- for my right eye cataract surgery on 5th Jan '11 afternoon, at Hiranandani Hospital, Mumbai. The Raksha TPA was intimated by Fax, email and courier on 7th Jan well within 48 timeline for intimation and all the original docs were submitted to them on 10th Jan.

      The Raksha TPA website shows that my claim has been rejeted for the following reason. Besides this I ve not received anything in writing from them.

      "We are in receipt of your claim documents. As per available documents, patient was admitted for Rt.eye cataract. Patient was been admitted on 05/01/2011 and discharged on 05/01/2011.As per policy terms & condition claim should be intimated to TPA within 48 hours from date of hospitalization. Hence this claim stands non payable under Exclusion Clause 5.4"

      The website also mentions that "24-JAN-2011 BLUE BIRD MAIL SERVICES PVT.LTD(Nonpayable Letter)" which is not received by me so far.

      I ve made a complain to Oriental Insurance on the same dated 27th Jan as per their website status, and so far not received any comm. from them too.

        Dear Sir/Madam,

        My Self Kapil Jain I have applied for the insurance claim for theft of Vehicle (Eicher canter, model11.10) no. HR38M-1011. It is registered by the name of Mr. Kapil Jain. I will give all the paper (Like as RC Photocopy, Driving license, NOC, NCR Report, FIR Copy, Fitness Report) last (30th Jul ’09) 1.5 years before to Mr. Mahender Dawar. He is the HR Manager who is deputed for the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd, payal Cinema, Sec-14, and Gurgaon. But now this time i can't receive the insurance claim. Please do the need full for releasing that amount
        But now 1.6 year has gone and I haven’t received any cheque.

        But I am sorry to inform you that till date we have not received our claim and your respected Officers are postponing it day by day by telling us some or the other reason although we have submitted all the documents and in opinion all the things are fine and valid.

        I have also visited to the nearest Oriental insurance office which is based at sec-14 Payal cinema gurgaon to get status of my cheque but they said yours case is already in pipeline but not gets any response and no one give me the finalization day.

        Oriental Insurance Company Limited — CUMULATIVE BONUS

        I HAD MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR MYSELF, MY WIFE N DAUGHTER FOR 5 LAKH, 5 LAKH N 2 LAKH FROM NEW INDIAN INSURANCE FOR MAMY YEARS WITH CUMULATIVE BONUS OF ALOMOST 50 % & without any claim.In the year I have transfer the same to Oriental Insurance through my Agent Mr.Rajesh Khedekar with Renewal notice of New India Insurance to Oriental Insurance on 28 March 20056.While receiving I was informed that Cumulative Bonus is there in Oriental Ins record but due to Computor software problem its not appearing on the Policy.In the year 2006 while renewing the same I checked with Orienatl Ins com and I was informed that C.B is cancelled in Orienatl Ins company from August 2005.Later I had lots of correspondece with them but there is no reply form them and they are denying to give me the benefit of my Cumulative Bonus.Please advice what to do and for your record I can provide all the relevant documents.

        Hi,

        I have claimend for my santro car on 24th Nov'10 and survey man passed the claim . and assured that i will recive the rembrusment check with in 20,25 working days. i have submitt my all document that is claim form,intimation form,bill etc in your office because accedent is occur in gurgoan

        But Now 2 month has gone and i have't recived any check.

        I have visited to the Oriental insurance office where i open my policy in yamuna nagar but they said we did not get survey report and surveyor Mr. RAKESH BAWEJA said that he submitt survey report to your office which is based at sec-14 Payal cenema gurgaon before one month but i think you did not send it to yamuna nagar oriental office branch .please send it immediatly for further processing

        Still i am waiting for rembrusment check.

          Hi this is mayank, my father had taken a mediclaim policy from ORIENTAL INSURANCE CO ltd and the TPA is M/s MD INDIA HEALTH CARE LIMITED.

          Policy no is [protected]. My father has expired on 13 sept 2010 and we have sent all the documents to MD INDIA HEALTHCARE LTD (TPA). The bill amount was 33000/- approx and we have send the claim amount of rs 25000/- approx.

          Even after four months of sending the claims we have still not recieved our claim amount.

          The agent Mr. Raju mohile ( mob no[protected] is neglecting the claim from the day we have submitted the documents even he has stopped responding our calls.

          The TPA is everytime sending us different queries. This is a death claim which ideally should not take more than 30 days to process. But in the above case its more than 3 months now. Till date the TPA has again send some more queries to the claim settlement.

          Please help us know what should a normal customer should do.

            I have not received policy document though i paid renewal premium vide receipt no 51-01/[protected] dt 17-9-10 indo3-code311300. Plicy no statedin receipt is2011/3319. More than 10weeks have elapsed..Please do needful failing which i will have option but to approach ombudsman/press/irda .Kindly ensure that document reaches me within a week

              My gaadi tata indca no. HR 34 A 9821 insured by Oriental Insurance was accident on[protected], after that every formalty has been done & we got a message that your claim amount is 170000 approx.

              But till now we didnot get any amount from the oriental office Narnaul, we have visted 200 times to the office but every time they are saying that it will be cleared within next one week, they are giving the excuse that they dn`t have money in the account of narnaul oriental & they will transfer the amount as soon as amount received from head office:

                MY CLIENT WAS THE MEMBER OF DAUPHIN TOUCH INDIA BEARING ID NO. 893600 AND SPONSORED ID OF MY CLIENT WAS 879063. AND ASSOCIATED WITH STANDARD PACKAGE AND THE CARD NO. OF MY CLIENT WAS 1060342 AND THE DATE OF JOINING WAS 04/09/2009. BUT HE HAD MET WITH ACCIDENT AND DIED ON THE SPOT. AN FIR WAS LODGED BY THE POLICE REGARDING THE SAID ACCIDENT. THE FIR NO. IS 139 T. 20/05/2010. Postmortem was conducted bu M.O. General Hospital Narwana.He was a G.P.A. policy holder no.271700/48/2010/937, covernote no.[protected] and certificate no. OIC/GPA-8749DATED 24/09/2009 namly the policy holder as Karambir and
                covered with a policy of cover risk rs. 5,00,000/- as accidental death . But After Repeated Request the amount of cover risk is not paid Hence this complaint.

                  Hi Sir,

                  As I paid my vehicle insurance online, I got the Softcopy but I still dint the original copy my insurance. As I customer care[protected] they told me that you will get original copy as soon possible not to worry. As I waited for more than 2 month till now I dint get the Original copy my insurance.

                  When I contacted the customer care regarding this again they give me email Id to contact and I sent an email they replied saying that we raised your issue to concern department. I have waited for again one to get the response and email them back to same email id still now I dint get the any reply from tham.

                    Dear Concerned

                    My father bought a Bajaj Discover bike, No. PB18 L 1132, in around March, 2007 and got Oriental Insurance done on 21-Mar-2007 for 1 year. The bike was stolen from my house on 4th Mar, 2008 and I lodged a complaint in Thana, City Batala (complaint no. 13) and informed the Insurance company about the theft. I have been following up with Oriental Insurance since then for the insurance amount but in vain.

                    In between, I lost my father and now after 2 years of repeated visits to their office, they are telling me that since the policy was in my father's name and he has expired, they will not give the insurance amount. This following up has not only costed me money but lot of time and effort. Also, my mother is the nominee of my father for all matters and we can produce all required documents. Please help us in settling this.

                      Oriental Insurance Co. (O.I.C.) Mediclaim policy No. 311990/48/2009/90 (Second year), validity from[protected] to[protected] of Proposer: SEEMA MURUGAN for patient: SIVABHARATHI

                      The chronological account of events in the reported matter since the 9th Dec., 2009:

                      1.[protected]: The complainant’s elder daughter, SIVABHARATHI, admitted for Punch Grafting VITILIGO surgery at Apollo Hospital, Canal Circular Rd., Kolkata.

                      2.[protected]: The complainant, i.e. M & N/G of SIVABHARATHI, applies for insurance at the Insurance Desk, Apollo Hospital, Kolkata.
                      Miss Moushikha, of Insurance Desk, Apollo Hosp., Canal Circular Rd., Kolkata, faxes the cashless request to H.H.S.P.L. (T.P.A. of O.I.C.) at 2-43 p.m. the same day.

                      3.[protected]: Complainant makes telephonic request for certificate 64VB to Mr. K.Chandrasekhar (employee of O.I.C., Kharagpur ext.n counter, Midnapore Br. Office) several times - each time was verbally abused with indecent language, and threatened with non compliance of request.

                      4.[protected] &[protected]: Since Telephonic requests/any conversation with Mr K. Chandrasekhar became impossible, SMS-es were sent by the complainant as per details below:
                      a.11.12.2009 at 15.42.42 with Fax nos. & appeal
                      b.11.12.2009 at 15.42.53 with Fax no of Apollo.
                      c. 12.12.2009: repeat request at 14.56.22.
                      d. 12.12.2009: URGENT request at 15.16.22.
                      e. 12.12.2009: URGENT request for the same at 15.16.31.

                      5.[protected]: Finally after more than 48 hrs., certificate 64VB was faxed at 3-49 pm by which time the complainant had undergone IMMENSE mental harassment & loss of dignity on a/c of the verbal assault, misbehavior & deliberate delay in issue of 64 VB by Mr K.Chandasekhar.

                      6.[protected]: First Email complaint reg. above-mentioned (sl. no. 3 to 5) to CMD, OIC, & all important Officers in the H.O. of O.I.C., New Delhi.

                      7.[protected]:Hard copy of the aforementioned email complaint (mentioned in sl. no.6) was personally submitted to the nearest Br. Manager, Midnapore Branch, O.I.C. Since the Branch Manager was absent, it was received by Mr Dasarath Mandi & Mr Bikash Gope namely.

                      8. The two officers (mentioned in sl. no. 7) MISDIRECTED the complainant to submit an application to the effect that Servicing Branch for the Mediclaim policy may be changed from Kharagpur to Midnapore since by this method the customer would no longer have to deal with Mr K.Chandrasekhar directly. And thus the O.I.C. would continue its policy as well as their employee is spared the complaint.
                      9.[protected]: Since nothing was heard on the compliant from the O.I.C. for one month (w.e.f.[protected], a repeat email was dispatched to the new CMD of O.I.C., (Dr R.K. Kaul) along with important functionaries in the H.O, New Delhi, appealing for justice as in the initial Email complaint of[protected].

                      10.[protected]: Hard copy of email (mentioned in sl. no. 9) was speedpost-ed to Dr RK Kaul (C.M.D, O.I.C.) with hand written request to inquire into the matter & provide delayed justice.

                      11.[protected]: In the interim, because of some follow-up telephonic inquiries at the office of the C.M.D., a single line letter was received from the Customer Service Deptt. of the H.O., O.I.C., N.D., stating that the concerned office(s) are "also being asked to expedite the matter & inform (the undersigned) the position directly to avoid delay".

                      12.[protected]: In view of aforementioned letter (sl. no. 11), the complainant visited the Midnapore Br. office where in the presence of the Br. Manager, she was once again taunted & verbally abused by Mr. K.Chandrasekhar. All this while the manager did not at all try to rescue the complainant, apart from simply assuring her that he would expedite the matter & intimate her their decision of judgment ASAP.

                      13.[protected]: Three complete months after the undersigned received the letter from the C.S.D., O.I.C., New Delhi, the undersigned visited the Midnapore Br. Office to enquire into the progress of the matter. Since the Br. Manager was absent, the undersigned submitted a letter reiterating her request of[protected], & provided her mob. no. in case the Inquiry Committee would like to contact her for securing the ends of natural justice.

                      14.[protected]: Since nothing was heard from the O.I.C. (H.O., N. Delhi, since[protected] or B.O., Midnapore), punctuated by follow-up requests & meetings as detailed above in sl. nos. 9 to 13) the customer PERSONALLY met Mr AR Joshi, C.M. C.S.D, O.I.C., New Delhi, & was shown documents to the effect that the Inquiry had been very conveniently closed (since it had been very mischievously turned by the concerned Inquiry Committee / Inquiring office into that of customer Grievance of cashless facility not being provided).
                      Therefore on[protected], the complainant submitted a fresh appeal to Mr. A.R. Joshi through a hand written letter on[protected] attaching Xerox copies of her complaint letters dt.[protected]sl. no. 6), and[protected]sl. no.14) as requested by Mr. A.R.. Joshi.
                      Thereafter, once every fortnight, the complainant made a telephonic enquiry with Mr. A.R. Joshi on the progress of the Inquiry, and was verbally assured by the latter that the Kolkata office (Mr. T.K. Chattopadhyaya) was making some sort of Inquiry whose report was awaited.

                      15.[protected]: Since more than 41 days were over (w.e.f.[protected] & there was nothing to be heard either from the B.O. Midnapore, or the R.O. Kolkata, or the H.O. New Delhi, the complainant dispatched an email (at 854 am) to Dr R.K.Kaul, C.M.D., O.I.C., N. Delhi, with copies to important functionaries of the H.O. (including Mr AR Joshi), reiterating her request for breaking the complete silence on the matter & total deliberate keeping I dark / ignoring the complainant since the initial complaint dt.[protected].

                      16.[protected]: On a mobile call to Mr A.R. Joshi (at around 11 am) reg. sl. no. 15, the complainant was informed that Mr K. Chandrasekhar had denied all the complaints of mental harassment & verbal assault and that the complainant was “under some sort of confusion” to which the complainant replied by email at 1145 am.
                      Once again she requested for justice on her Inquiry application pending with the O.I.C. since the[protected].

                      17.[protected]: At 1143 pm Mr A.R. Joshi sent an email in which the complainant was informed that Mr K. Chandrasekhar was given a clean chit & the complaint was “being closed on the basis of the report of (OIC’s) Dy. Gen. Manager of Kolkata Region”.

                      18.[protected]: At 246pm the complainant made a very clean & specific complaint of DELIBERATE DELAY (MISCONDUCT & NEGLIGIENCE OF DUTY) reg. the undue delay in issue of certificate 64 VB for more than 48 Hrs. since application which led to extreme mental harassment to the complainant.

                      19.[protected]: The complainant PERSONALLY met the C.M.D. of O.I.C., Dr R.K. Kaul, at the H.O., New Delhi & made a fervent appeal for securing justice in the matter of mental harassment by Mr. K. Chandarsekhar on a/c of deliberate delay in issue of certificate 64 VB for more than 48 hrs as an issue of misconduct & negligence of duty.

                      20.[protected]: The complainant dispatched an email to Dr. R.K. Kaul, Mr. A.R. Joshi & other important functionaries of the H.O., New Delhi apprising them of the meeting with Dr. R.K. Kaul & once again appealing for justice.

                      21. 18.07.2010: Late evening the complainant received a letter from Ms. Indira Mridha (D.M., Haldia, D.O. of the O.I.C.) reg. closure of her complaint since they had “found Mr Chandrasekhar not guilty of the charges labelled” by the complainant.

                      22.[protected]: Despite having closed the chapter, the above-named (sl. no. 21) tried to reopen the chapter with the complainant by phone calls & sending email that she wanted to discuss the matter in the presence of high level official from Kolkata. The complainant had by this time having suffered IMMENSE HARRASSMENT due to O.I.C dragging its feet & finally hushing up the matter in a totally one-sided Inquiry.

                      23.[protected]: Complainant applies under the R.T.I ., 2005, to the C.P.I.O. of the O.I.C., Kolkata, for “complete action taken report & all the file notings (in the matter of Mr. K Chandrasekhar’s MISBEHAVIOUR & MISCONDUCT) with all officers of the O.I.C.”
                      24.[protected]: The S.P.I.O. & R.M. of the O.I.C., Kolkata dispatches a totally incomplete & truncated reply to the above-mentioned R.T.I. application of the complainant.

                        Mediclaim Policy from Oriental Insurance

                        I Have a family floter Mediclaim Policy from the Oriental Insurance Company Since 25th March 2009. The policy is renewed on the time. I have no any Disease at the time of policy taken. Before three i was face problems in my nose and before one month i have consult from ENT doctor. and the doctor has given me treatment for 15 days. I have taken the 15 days treatment after then I have against consult with the ENT doctor. The doctor has advice me for CT Scan of my nose. I have do the CT Scan report and again consult with my doctor. The Doctor has advice me for operate the nose due to blockage in the nose. I have apply with TPA for Cash Less. Today I have received a massage from TPA that the Disease is not covered before two years. I have seen on the site that the pre - insurance Disease are not covered under the policy.                           Dear Team,

                          This is kindly inform that i have purchased a new bike Bajaj pulser in Nov'09 and bike was insured under oriental Insurance Company limited under the policy number 271700/31/2010/7471 and bike number was UP-16Y-4401 My motor cycle was stolen on 25th December 2009.For the same i have already submitted all the requested documents including same days police intimation report, FIR report, FIR final report and all other required papers.
                          While talking to them for my claim initially they told that as per the policy you have not given the written intimation letter to our main office with in 48 hours of bike stolen so your claim will not be processed.
                          Later they said that as you have not informed us with in 48 hours so only 75% of the insured amount can be processed.
                          when i was not agreed on 75% on the amount ( total amount insured is 57983/- Rs) they have stopped responding.

                          I have send them final legal notice of 20 days to there head office (A-25/27 Oriental house, Asaf Ali road New Delhi 110002) through registered post from Noida on 21st July to settle down my claim but till now 1 month passed already and there is no response from oriental insurance so i have decided to file the complaint against Oriental Insurance Company as its already 8 month passed and i m waiting for my claim.

                          Please help me in this as soon as possible.

                          even i have sufferd from them.
                          just because i forgot to inform them in 48 hours, my bike was lost.

                            I have been Passed by Stone Operation on 30.06.2010 from Siddhi Vinayak Hospital, Kankaria, Ahmedabad.

                            My MD India CCA No. 0715038. On 14.07.2010 i have to take out Stane kept after operation of Stone, & i have submitted all the required papers into Insurance co on 16.07.2010, as i have received all papers from above hospital on 15.07.2010 at evening.

                            I have applied for Cash-Less which was rejected for Lapse in Policy in the year[protected].

                            My Insurance in D.O.-III, 3rd Floor Agrawal Chambers, Nr. Town Hall, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad.

                            I have visited my Oriental insurance Co.Ltd office on 03.08.2010 & contacted Divisional Manager for my Claim. Before that i have send a mail to D.M on 03.08.2010 from my email id for solving the problem, Divi.Manager told me that i will receive Answer of my mail within a week, but till today No answer is being Received by me.

                            Even than after I have called Divisional Manager on 12.08.2010 & requested to reply to my mail, but Divisional Manager replied that all Claim Department persons are busy in Flood Claim, so my answer will be send by her/his till some days & cut out my Phone.

                            Another thing, i have gone through Docket of my Mediclaim in the Division & found that At the time of said Lapse Policy, Authorised Person has Noted as below:

                            Sum Insured Renewed. Nothing else was written on it.

                            I want to complain for such., because if my said policy is Lapse, than Oriental insurance should Inform me by Letter or through my divisional Officer that Your Policy is been Lapsed & now onwards this Policy will be treated as FRESh.

                            Also, if as per terms of Oriental Insurance, if my Policy is to be treated as FRESH, than why did above Division of OIriental ionsurance Co. did not informed me? & also they have not asked me FILL NEW PROPOSAL FORM..

                            I want a Letter from Divisional Office that MY POLICY(ASHESH.D.TRIVEDI) IS CONTINUE & MY CLAIM SHOULD BE PASSED & the Division should send Original Copy to MD INDIA LTD & second copy to me for Passing my claim.

                            I have spend Rs. 41,248/- & paid to above hospital. I have taken a Loan from my relatives to Pay such Bill of Hospital, which I have to give them back as soon as possible.

                            I have not received even a Letter from MD INDIA & my DIVISIONAL OFFICE with Reason of Not passing my Claim i.e. NO CLAIM LETTER, so i think that i should get a letter from ORIENTAL INSURANCE CO. LTD addressing to MD INDIA for passing my claim & second or xerox copy should be posted to me or hand over to me.

                            Please take this SERIOUSLY, because it has been already 1 month & 15 days after i had passed through my Operation., and 1 month for submitting my papers in Insurance Co.

                            Waiting for your positive & URGENT reply.

                            Ihave a mediclaim policy no 272805/48/2011/1138 ending 28/08/2011 from the oriental insurance co ltd from cbo-4 Agra. I was treated for neuro endocrine tumour pancreas at Medanta the medicity Gurgaon (Haryana) in Feb,2011. I submitted all relevant papers but till no claim has been made to me nor replied

Then, information received from MDI office that claim is rejected because of hemorrhoids. but paper could not received for rejection reason due to electricity problem. I have told him that, Problem was something else as Inflammatory bowel disease .As per him hemorrhoids word used and In this case two yrs policy to be completed. After that, I met with my consulting doctor and tell him the the details as above, as per him demanding the proper reason with attachment. Because they have not treated for the hemorrhoids , they have treated for IBD only , for reference Colonoscopy & biopsy report were attached. They have diagnosis hemorrhoids also. But at this time we have not treated for this. So you are requested to provide the documents of rejection. So our doctor Mr yatendra Dubey can take further action regarding this matter.

                                  I underwent E E C P treatment at IPC Heart Care Centre in April-May2009,for Heart Disease and impoved my condition(physically & proper tests) ,even after advice by Doctor to go for By-pass surgery. It is only because E E C P treatment is non-invasive ,absolutely painless and less expensive.No cutting ,No blood, so at 60 I preferred E E C P .Then I submitted my claim to T P A.which was rejected for the reason 'it is un-proven treatment' Then I approached grievance cell of Ori Ins Co,,they also showed same reason.After I approached Ombudsman.In the hearing I submitted all supporting papers of other ins cos.govt of India ,state bank of India,Chennai port trust.Bajaj Allianz etc,,And most important document was of New India Assurance Co.who approved& riemburesed for same treatment, in same Hosp & in sameway.But in reply I found no change in status quo(recd on 15/06/2010).I think all public sector Insurance cos under one roof with same terms & conditions.My complaint is 'If New India Assu Co approves&reimburses ONE treatment,then why not Oriental Insu co? please inquire and give me justice.thanks Yours Truely Devdatt N Redkar 212,Sharda Sadan Shivaji Park Rd no 5 Mahim,Mumbai 400016 My policy no 111400/48/2010/709 Omb ref noOMB/MUM/GI-1111/09-10.
