RedBus - 2400 Looted | Bus Didn't Arrive | No Refund or Support

I booked 5 tickets worth ₹2400 from RedBus for a UPSRTC bus scheduled at 1:00 PM. We reached the boarding point by 12:30 PM, but the bus never arrived. We waited for hours. No information was given. Tried calling customer care, but no one responded.

RedBus called us later and promised resolution within 24 hours, but it’s been more than that—no refund, no help, nothing.

This is highly unprofessional and...

Hi, i booked a ticket through the redbus portal, expecting fair service. Upon boarding, the conductor asked me to sit in a different seat than the one i had booked. When i requested assistance in securing my reserved seat, he initially claimed that someone was already sitting there. I questioned the purpose of offering seat selection during booking. Eventually, he approached the passenger, but there was no response. Now, the conductor insists that i must travel in the changed seat. I paid twice the general fare for my selected seat, so what is the point of the seat selection option? Please help resolve this issue.

    Refund

    I booked a ticket through the RedBus app with Sri Renganathan Travels from Trichy to Chennai (11:00 PM departure). The bus was delayed by more than 30 minutes . The overall service was very poor.

    The AC was not working, the charging points and lights were not functioning, and the driver was extremely rude and disrespectful. The condition of the bus was terrible, and it was not worth the fare of ₹1050 that I paid.

    Disappointed with redbus cancellation policy and customer support

    I had a very disappointing experience with RedBus. I paid an additional ₹45 for the cancellation policy, which stated that I could cancel the bus ticket until 8 PM. However, when I tried to cancel around 5 PM—well before the travel time—I was not allowed to do so.

    Despite what the app showed, the cancellation option was blocked, and when I tried contacting RedBus customer care, there was no proper support or response....

    Hi! My name is Supriyaa. I want to raise a complaint regarding the recent travel from Bangalore to Cumbum in Balaji Cabs. Ticket number: TU5W75464904

    The boarding time was at 10.30 PM yesterday in KR Puram, Bangalore. The bus came only by 1.05 AM after 2.5 hours. There was no prior information about the delay no msg no calls nothing. When we called the driver he said he will come in 20mins always from 10.30PM. Why would you give false information like this and keep us wait in the road in mid night like a stray dog? This morning they stopped at a rest place and after that they said AC isn’t working. It’s half way still. Imagine In the hot Sun in AC bus without a AC for 5 hours+. I’m still in the bus don’t know what to do. We have raised complaint in RedBus as well. We have paid 5k for 2 people for this bus and is not worth a penny. We want a refund for this bus.

    What would you be able to do to help us in this?

      I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding an extremely disappointing and hazardous experience with your travel service on [mention date of travel], on the [mention route, e.g., Chennai to Bangalore] route.

      During the journey, we encountered the following unacceptable issues:

      1. Severe Insect Infestation: The bus was infested with insects, causing discomfort, bites, and health concerns among many passengers. I have attached multiple photos clearly showing the insects in the seating and sleeping areas.

      2. Negligent Staff Behavior: Despite several passengers alerting the driver and the conductor, no action was taken to address the insect issue. The driver and staff remained indifferent and even dismissive of the health risk we were exposed to.

      3. No Response from Manager: When we attempted to escalate the matter by calling your manager, there was no response or follow-up. This lack of responsibility and communication is highly unprofessional.

      4. No Medical Support or Assurance Provided: Several passengers, including children and elderly individuals, experienced allergic reactions and discomfort due to insect bites. Shockingly, no medical assistance or even basic first aid was provided by your staff. This is a direct violation of passenger safety standards.

        I have booked 3 tickets on 25.04.2025 from pune to Hyderabad on redbus app with Ramana travels(bus operator). The bus had broken down on 25th night and bus halted for about 1.5 hrs for repairs and again it broke on 26th morning at Sangareddy which is 30 kms away from my destination. The bus operator did not inform about the issue and again halted the bus at Sangareddy for necessary repairs. The reaching time was ideally 6:30 am at BHEL( my destination) however untill 9'o clock in the morning the bus was at Sangareddy only. I had to book a intercity cab from Sangareddy to Gachibowli as we were not left with any other option (paid 900 for the cab) I had some emergency meetings on 26th morning which i could not attend due to the delay. This journey has caused lot of stress. I have raised the issue with redbus customer care however they did not provide me a resolution rather are closing the chat inadvertently without my consent and not allowing me to take up the issue further. Adding to this they are updating the status of issue as in progress but not updating anything via chat or mail or message. It's been 5 days I did not receive any update or call from them.
        I have faced similar issues several times and never received any compensation from redbus.
        The service provider charges so much depending on demand but does not care to provide proper customer service. Hence this time I chose to escalate the matter.

          I am filing this complaint against RedBus for not processing a refund for a failed booking, despite multiple follow-ups. Below are the details of the issue:

          Complaint Details:

          On 20/03/2025, I attempted to book a bus ticket using the RedBus platform. However, the transaction failed, but the amount of ₹1, 239 was deducted from my account. As per RedBus policies and RBI guidelines, refunds for failed transactions should be processed within 5-7 working days, but I have not received any refund to date.

          Despite reaching out to RedBus customer support multiple times via [mention mode—email/call/chat], my issue remains unresolved. I have attached screenshots of my payment confirmation, failed booking status, and my conversations with RedBus support.

          Relief Sought:

          I kindly request the Consumer Forum to take necessary action against RedBus and direct them to:

          1. Process my refund of ₹1, 239 immediately.

          2. Compensate me for the mental distress caused due to this delay.

          3. Ensure such incidents do not occur with other consumers in the future.

          I trust that the Consumer Helpline will help me get a resolution at the earliest.

            We had a total of 9 tickets booked with Red Bus, with 6 tickets under booking ID [protected] and 3 tickets under booking ID [protected]. We arrived at the designated boarding point at 9:30 PM, well ahead of the scheduled departure time. However, the experience took a disappointing turn due to the following issues:

            Bus Delay and Confusion: The bus (AR 3900) was delayed by almost 2 hours, and the boarding point was overcrowded with multiple intercity buses, making it difficult for us to locate our specific bus.

            Lack of Communication: At 12:12 AM, we finally received a call from the bus driver. When we tried to explain that we were a group of 11 people waiting at the designated boarding point, the driver abruptly disconnected the call without allowing us to provide the necessary information.

            Further Attempts to Contact: After this, I called the bus driver 12 times to inquire about the exact location of the bus. Unfortunately, none of these calls were answered, and there was no further communication.

            Bus Departure Without Us: Despite our best efforts to reach the bus, the driver chose to leave, leaving us stranded at the boarding point with valid bookings.

            This entire incident caused immense inconvenience to our group, preventing us from continuing our journey, even though we had made proper arrangements and had valid tickets.

            I am highly disappointed by the lack of communication, the delay, and the subsequent failure of your staff to resolve this matter. As a frequent and loyal user of your service, this experience has left me dissatisfied with the quality of service I received.
