I have taken the loan as per the communication from the CC executive that the interest may come around 2500 Rs.
I have taken on Jan and from there onwards the Interest came around 13000 Rs.

I took 50K and I ended paying almost 63000 Rs When ever I ask the explanation, I never get a reply from them. How can a customer believe them.

Cancellation of all credit cards & issue of No-dues certificate

    Address: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

I have cleared ALL my dues on/before time for all of my card statements for Standard Chartered Bank since year 2000. After having cleared all dues now, I requested SCB to terminate all of my card accounts as I am going to be out travelling for a long time and did not require those credit cards. I also wanted to avoid any un-authorised activity to take place on my unused card in my absence.

I have been holding Stanchart credit card for nearly 15 years. Since last 1 year or so, I have been having problems in the bank recognizing my payments. I have supplementary cards and get one bill from Stanchart. I used to pay the outstanding amount for all cards through one cheque. Since last one year, I have been having frequent but inconsistent recognition of my payments through online. Some months, the payment is apportioned to all cards while some other month it doesn't. On months when it is not done correctly, I have to call the phone banking and have it rectified. It was done as well. last month, similar problem happened and I complained but the apportioning did not happen. More over, Stanchart lost the cheque I deposited. I gave evidence with a photocopy of the deposit acknowledgement. Till now, there is no response on that from them. Subsequently, for the current month, I had piad all outstanding through a cheque and I have the acknowledgement from Adyar branch teller having received the cheque. Today, my card is blocked.

This is absolutely reckless behaviour from standchart. I would like to bring justice to me.

          Hi,
Standard Chartered have reported my name in CIBIL mentioning that I have and outstanding loan of 40000+ to pay them for a Overdraft account I had operated between[protected].
The Bank offered me this facility and there has not been any instance where i have not paid the bank as required to maintain the OD account.
In the year 2009 i received a letter from Standard bank that they want to withdraw the facility and hence i need to pay everything pending and close the account.
I followed the instruction of the bank and paid all my dues and closed the account.
But to my shock i discovered in the year 2012 that my name has been reported to CIBIL mentioning that the amount of Rs 40000+ is outstanding and i have defaulted the same.
I have been running between the SCB customer and their branches to get the closure statement - But the bank has not responded.
This In-spite of me being a 15 yr old customer and having a relationship till last month.
Not a single communication was there which would say that there is any pending (as there was none)

Somehow i have managed to dig out the Statements from my old mail which clearly shows that the account was closed and no outstanding is there.
I need help to pressurize Standard chartered bank to remove my name from CIBIL and issue an apology for incorrect reporting which has negatively portrayed my rating and delayed my housing loan disbursal from another bank

I had taken loan time to time from Standard Chartered bank of total amount of Rs. 2.5lacs approx. I was paying them regularly. On my good payment record they sanctioned me loans time to time. But I was not aware of their charge named 'PLATINUM REPAYMENT COVER BANGALORE'. 3-4 months bank one bank representative called me up and asked to entitle in Royal Sundaram Policy to cover the loan amount. That time she told that PRC charge will not applicable from next month. But repeatedly they are charging it every month.

Secondly, all the loans are sanctioned by them. I have not forced them to sanction my desired amount. But after my last loan of Rs.1.43lacs they are regularly charging OVER LIMIT Fees. I repeatedly mail head.[protected]@sc.com from my registered email id [protected]@hotmail.com, that I am agree to pay principal amount & interest for that amount. On that basis every month I paid Rs. 14848/- to them. But still they are charging unnecessary charges and embarrassing me by SMS & phone calls regarding payment.

I asked them to send a representative or mail me the payment summery regarding my payments and charges, but they not responded to my request in this regards. Only send a mail about 14-21 days after my mails.

My credit card no. against which loan in sanctioned is ending with 8185. Always they told loan is outer from my credit card limit, they named it instabuys account [protected]. I am really became fade up by contacting bank through email. I need justice. - Moumita Sil, Mobile : [protected]

                Hi,

I was using a credit card from standard charted bank from 2000 to 2005 with card no. [protected]. I was a regular payer for the usage i was incurring. During last three months of my usage in 2005, there was unreasonable charges of late fees, interest and fines which was added to my card. I had complained to the credit card phone department but was not waived off. During the last month the bill was around 11600/- and i paid 10000/-, a short of 1600/- in protest against the charges.

Immediately post that period, i went for higher studies. The address and phone number changed. I have not used the card again and the card department have not communicated on the permanent address ever. In 2012, CIBIL report says a due of 51000/- to the bank and when i contacted the bank, it took 30 days to respond, says the outstanding is 54000/-.

For non-usage, late fee which were unreasonable, the credit card companies are charging exuberant fines. It is depressing and frustrating . It is a hard fact that banks are aking advantages of the gray areas of guidelines and harrasing customers. Please help me in this regard.

                    Hi Sir,

Last month I had converted a transaction to EMI(Loan Acc.[protected]) and my 1st month EMI was 2349.03.
That day, unknowingly i had made a payment of Rs.2350 to my SCB main account instead of paying to the loan account.
Now in the 2nd month, the bank has charged approx Rs.750(Late charges+Interest+Tax).
I have been using the SCB credit card since more than 5years and never/rarely missed any payment.
I have been using other bank credit cards as well and never faced this kind of issue as they do not have a separate loan account for the same.
The EMI amount will be included in the main account it self and hence no confusion.
In this case, i was confused with the tool and payed the amount to the main account even though there was no DUE. More over,
after the due date i have not been informed that i have missed the payment nor i have received any reminders for the same.
I would like the bank to take this as a special case and provide the waiver for the same. Please find my details below & do the needful

Standard & Chartered Bank — Unfair Practice by Bank

                    Dear Sir

I was credit card holder of Std & Chrtd ([protected])from[protected]. I was never a defaulter on my card in the whole time. In 2005, I was deputed to remote site by my company and I was unable to use my card. That time an amount of Rs. 800/- odd was due from me. Since there was no nearby braches, I communicated to Std & Chrtd bank to discontinue my services and asked them to adjust my reward point ( 1500+ points) to my dues. Nither I recived any communciation from them till 2007, so I thought that Bank must have adjusted and closed this issue. In 2007 when I approached some other bank for a home loan in Mumbai, to my horror I have discovered that I ahve been black listed in CIBIL and my card was invalidated in Sep 2005. I am still ready to pay Rs. 800+ a nominal interest till sep 2005 (Card Invalidated date). The Bank should have at least sent me a communication before doing so. When contacted Std & Chrtd Bank now, they are demanding an exorbitant dues of Rs. 7000+. This is unfair to the customer and unfair practice for such a reputed Bank. I request you to invstigate this matter and give me a solution so that my name can be removed from sebi blacklist.

                    Thanking you

                    Yours faithfully and Truly

Standard Chartered Bank — Reported in CIBIL

                        Ref.: Credit Card # [protected]

Standard Chartered Bank has wrongly reported my Credit Rating in CIBIL website. I paid all the dues.

SCB is unable to retrieve the Statement of Account vide which they received my last payment, as that statement will have all the details about un-paid amount (if any). It is the responsibility of the bank to inform its customer about any such amount before reporting to CIBIL.

Besides, the above, they are insisting for a payment of Rs. 9,500/- for the removal of my name from CIBIL website.

I have been writing continuously to their senior management as well, but in vain.

This is with reference to the below mentioned message and discussions over telephone with one of the responsible officer in Standard Chartered Bank, Gurgaon, after receipt of following message at their end.

As informed that you will inform to the concerned Customer Care officer about the discussions we had and that you will ask them to send a message to me informing
                        (a) that Standard Chartered Bank is unable to retrieve the Statement of Account of my credit card for the period when your bank received the last payment from me and

                        (b) that your bank can issue a 'No Due' certificate, only if I pay Rs. 9,500/-

I regret to inform that I have not received any message from your Customer Care Office till now. I am sure that you have communicated to the concerned authority for sending a response to me. If not, kindly do so URGENTLY, as you are aware that I need to apply for loan for the renovation of my house.

Standard Chartered representative processed a photo credit card application with my conscent, however i recieved non-photo credit card.

I called at their customer care no.s & have sent EMails as well, but no response. Not even an asknowledgement from any Standard Chartered representative.

To add to it, they charged Rs. 1745/- in few days, without notifying me. This is atrocious.

With this kind of "professionalism" shown by Standard Chartered , i'm forced to say I WANT TO CANCEL THI CARD & NEVER EVER TAKE ANY SERVICE FROM THEM.

I had a SCB card in the year 2006 April I had paid the due amount through cheque but the bank reflected the amount after 3 months in the meanwhile charged interest, late fee & penalty whey I brought the same to their notice with a bank statement no action was taken hence I returned the card in Septemeber 2006 but to my surprise they have handed over the report to CIBIL stating that I owed them Rs 98000/-. It came to my knowledge through my bankers in 2012. I had to pay forcefully to the recovery agent Rs 18000/- to clear the report. But later I took up the RBI Ombudsman who after seeing the proof proved the bankers wrong and asked them to pay back the amount which they did in April 2012. But had to go through horrible experience during this period. Now to get a CIBIL report why should i pay to them.

I made a NEFT transfer from my Standard Chartered Bank SB A/C on 5th June 2012 at around 5 pm. THE AMOUNT WAS IMMEDIATELY DEBITED FROM MY ACCOUNT BUT THE SAME HAS NOT BEEN CREDITED TO THE BENEFICIARY ACCOUNT EVEN AFTER 30 HOURS. CUSTOMER CARE JUST SAY IT WILL TAKE 48 HOURS. BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE WHEN I TRANSFER FROM OTHER BANK WHERE IT IS CREDITED WITHIN FEW HOURS.

                                  Hi There,

Since couple of weeks I have been getting calls from office of a collection agent constituted by Standard chartered Bank (SCB) that my credit card payments are delinquent to an extent that it has been blocked permanently and the total payment due sumed upto 40K - for an 18K credit limit card - that was opened in 2003. I was out of the country since 2004 and came to know about this when the agent called me up couple of weeks ago and apprised on the situation of the card and balance on it. Asking me to settle this for 27K. I should admit that I barely remember having this card. I'm requesting agent/bank to provide me a copy of all the statements, notices or any other correspondence that they have been sending all these years to collect the debt - so can help me understand better - for what I'm being asked to shell down 27K. To my surprise, they say they will not be able to provide any documentation on a permanently blocked account - even to the card holder.

Do anyone of you gone through above situation? any recommendation? suggestion? appropriate course of action?

Please get back to me earliest possible.

                                  Thank you in advance.

Yes buddy, same is the case with me. I have stopped using this card way back in 2006, and now they are calling me to pay 19k which is due on my card, or else settle it immediately otherwise they will get my name added to CBIL.
Keep asking them for the details and documents...thatz it.
Also be aware, they will call you on false identities as well (ex : posing as a LIC agent)
I am from Chennai and I too am encountering the same issue. I am out of country for the past 2 years and my brother in India is getting all these nuisance calls. I owned a SCB card way back in 2005 and closed the account without even using it (because I got it as a free when I joined MNC). I didn't realize that it would create a problem like this. My brother is very irritated by this and I don't know how to handle this. Is it advisable to call them and ask for details?

On 14th February,2012, I had a dinner with my wife at ROYAL ZADE Chinese Restaurant(Siemens office area, Kasba, Kolkata) at around 10p.m. After dinner I paid the amount through my credit card at 11 o’clock and by mistake left the card in that restaurant only. On 15th February,2012 before I could have taken a suitable step of blocking the card, an unknown person did a total transaction of Rs. 75,444/- using my card. Finally I blocked the card and the card block number is[protected].

I also put a police complaint in this regard on 15th February, 2012. The complaint details is G.D.E No.1233, Dated 15th February,2012, Kasba Police Station, Kolkata Here I would like to inform that we went to the police station to file FIR but the officer present there lodged the complaint as general diary instead of FIR.

After that I spoke to the customer care executive of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and got the information that the transactions were done at Senco Gold, Moulali, Kolkata (amount Rs.38,514/-)and Anjali Jewellers, Golpark, Kolkata (amount Rs. 36,930/-). Both the transactions were done on 15th February, 2012 afternoon. It is really a matter of surprise that such reputed jewelers shops sold items of such high amount without any identity proof of the person. As far as I know, any transaction beyond Rs.10,000 (purchase from a Jewelers shop) should be verified by an identity proof. When I visited those two shops I found that in the payment slips the unknown person had duplicated my signature. The concerned persons in the cash counter of the shops did not even bother to check the authenticity of the signature.

Afterwards I went to the Kasba Police Station to intimate them with the updated information but they said that they can’t do anything in this case from their side. The only thing they can do is that they will inform us if someone returns the lost card to them.

I also put the complain filling the Dispute Declaration Form of the concerned bank. One copy is submitted to the bank’s local branch Fraud Cell and another copy is mailed to customer care desk. The online complain registration number is[protected]. The bank sent me an auto generated mail mentioning that they will need 30-35 days for investigating the case. Moreover I put an online FIR mentioning all these facts.FIR ID is 6795.

I even moved to the higher police authority who ordered the local police station to register FIR(Case no 121 dated 21.03.2012). I repeatedly communicated with the Fraud Control Unit of SCB, co-operated with them. One of the jewelers shops also handed over a video footage where a suspected person was visualized to pay amount using a card at the same time when my card was misused.

The result of all these activities is that I am getting regular calls from the bank’s end to pay the amount which I have not transacted. There is no advancement in this particular case from the side of police. The Fraud Control Unit declared verbally that they have certain limitations. Though they can realize that I am not guilty, still they can’t do anything. According to them if the police can catch the thief, then only they can move ahead. From the past four years, I have never been a defaulter in paying the amount. Now I just want to put forward the point that if the police can’t do anything, the fraud control unit can’t solve the matter, then is it only my responsibility to get hold of the culprit and handover him to the police and communicated with the bank that everything is done now relieve me of paying the amount.

Is it not the duty of the bank or the police to seriously investigate the matter? It is really useless to have such a fraud control unit who is unable to solve the dispute. The police is completely reluctant of taking any action. Is it the responsibility of the sufferer to give police all the visual evidences? Or it’s the police responsibility? Or isn’t it very stupid on the part of the police not able to find a person whose photo is already being identified.

On calling the higher authority official of the fraud control unit, he even misbehaved and ignored the call saying why a customer will call him directly. I don’t understand if his subordinates are unable to solve anything and if people move to him, is it not his duty to listen to them. It seems he is totally unaware of this case which is continuing from February,2012. In this particular case, the jewelers shops involved also committed mistake by not checking the identity of the person or even going for matching the signature in the pay slips with the signature in the credit card. But no one pointed them. As I am the card holder and unfortunately my card got misplaced, I am only liable to pay. If it is so, its only a total waste of energy and time on my part to communicate with the police and the Fraud Control Unit all these months. It is totally mental harassment for me.
It seems neither the SCB nor the Police has taken any serious measure to solve my case. The bank’s card department didn’t even bother to reply my repeated mails to liquidate my account.

I would request consumer forum a serious justification in my case and help me to settle the matter sharp and the charged amount to be reversed.
