Hdfc bank credit cards had started providing 12 free Lounge accesses a year for regalia customers by collaborating with priority pass.
Sometime in April/May 2017, they silently changed the clause, and charged customers around Rs 1800 per visit for domestic lounges.
This amount is deducted automatically (without swiping the hdfc card or signing anywhere). I'm not sure how that's even legal.
The only place where this change is mentioned is at a corner in the PDF statement they mail to us. As a long time card user, I don't look at the every word in the statement, I just see the total amount and make the payment.
I'm sure there are enough legal loopholes for hdfc bank to be not liable to anything, but you're going to lose customers if this is the way you're going to operate.
I want others in this forum to be aware that hdfc is very capable of pulling off such kind of tricks, so please read the clauses very carefully and also keep in mind that they can change it anytime without properly clarifying it to you.
