I have purchased one sony tv 43w800d from agartala in june 2016. The cost of the tv was near about rs.70, 000/-.in the month of march, 2019, while tv was on and one programme was running, suddenly the screen became black without display but sound was as usual. I have send the tv to the sony service centre, dhaleswar, agartala. Initially they told that some board has got damaged and needs to be replaced. After replacing becon board they charged more then rs. 5, 000/-. Accordingly i have paid the amount as per their demand. After 10/15 days of delivery 2nd time the same problem cropped up and again i have complained. The service center has taken the tv and after few days they informed me to collect the tv as they have got repaired the tv 2nd time. This time they have not demanded any money from me. But unfortunately after 13/14 days again i found the same problem for 3rd time and again i have informed the service center. One person from service center has visited my home and taken the tv and after few days they inform me that this time display panel needs to be replaced and it will cost about rs.25, 000/-. But as the amount is very high i have decided not to repair the tv and i have to inform sony india and brought back tv with out repair.
It is very surprising and unbelievable to see that only after 2.5years of purchase, one tv from a reputed company like sony which costing about rs.70, 000/- (Seventy thousand) stopped functioning. Normally people expect branded and reputed product from a reputed company like sony. I am confused whether sony is supplying the defective products in indian market or not. Otherwise how one costly tv from a company like sony gets damaged within such a short period. I therefore, request the sony company to look in to the matter and replace the tv with a new one within 15 days.
Exception of people from sony india is much higher then the product delivered to me and also the status of service received from sony service center.
Sony India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
