I actually want to put this message for all users who are planning to take or already having long plans with act fiber-net. Please be aware of act fiber-net fraudulent practices and policies which will impact your internet usage, connection and peace. I am a act customer for past 7 years and had always used their long plans i.e 6 month plans in Hyderabad. Currently my bill cycle is from April to September 2017.
During last week of July, i need to shift to Chennai and so i called customer care to inform that i am leaving Hyderabad and so to shift my connection to Chennai and requested them two things A) Move my connection from Hyderabad to Chennai B) Since it is July last week and i have still 2 months o[censored]nused internet, either issue a refund o[censored]nused internet for 2 months or keep the amount in the internet account, so when the guys provide me new connection in Chennai, they can utilize the amount.
The initial response from customer care on July 27th is the refund is never possible with act fiber-net for whatsoever reason. This is really staggering because they sell a year long or more than that plans. so beware of taking long plans from act fiber-net, because there is a high possibility of they fooling you when they sell them and say they will refund for non-usage. Second is they are multi city operator operating in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore etc and they cannot transfer connections at all. Process is to quit connection in one city and take a new connection in the new city. so whatever login details, phone number, contact details you provided to them to login the internet stands non-carried. After few minutes of conversation, the customer care rep agreed to create a ticket for keep the unused money in the account itself.
On August 1st, the Chennai team of act fiber-net visited my location to give me a new connection, but i told them to connect with Hyderabad team regarding non-issue of refund of internet money and asked them to use the same amount and by adjusting the money in new bill and forwarded the ticket numbers regarding refund expected from Hyderabad. The Chennai team took all the details and called me back saying they communicated with Hyderabad team and awaiting response.
On August 2nd i suddenly saw that my ticket is closed saying it is resolved.
On august 3rd again i called customer care and spoke to them and repeated entire stuff again and again a ticket is opened. The Chennai guys kept calling me everyday to confirm if there is any update to the story and what baffled me is they are just there sell a new connection, but are not willing to talk much to Hyderabad division. Since they work for same company, minimum expectation is they can escalate within themselves faster and can reach a solution. But trust me, the Chennai guys just kept calling me only to sell and but not solve problems.
The story continued same way and act closed my ticket as resolved on august 6th without moving a inch on the issue.
Again i called them on august 7th to enquire why was ticket closed when there is no communication to me or Chennai team on the issue, a new ticket was launched same day
On august 9th, when i called customer care, i really have to blast them, because my patience start to end and the guy who spoke to me gave me a promise that issue will be resolved in 24 hours. This is after i told him, i dont care about act anymore and i am going to sell the 2 month connection to someone in Hyderabad itself as i dont have any trust with Hyderabad act team anymore. But the guy kept saying give us 24 hours more and sure this case is solved.
But to my surprise, the ticket was closed on 10th august after moving the account as "HOLD". I re-opened the ticket through app and called the customer care again. I asked them why ticket was closed and the rep coolly said, your account is going to be disconnected. I was like okay and finally they agreed to disconnect after long fight of 2 weeks. The reason they told why they take so long is they are waiting for billing period to come. Awesome is it! if you want to close your account on 1st week of billing cycle, you need to wait three weeks more.
I said fine and asked about refund or transferring money to Chennai account, for which i got one straight forward answer- sorry sir, we cant issue refund and neither transfer possible. All we can do is we can keep the balance in your account and whenever you shift back to Hyderabad you can use. I was like what the hell is that? who knows when i will back to hyderabd and after how many years? why i need to be back to Hyderabad just to use the internet? and what stupid policy is this? why cant they simply transfer 2 months internet activity to new city we move? these guys simply told there is no provision for all these and repeating same blah, blah, blah.
So after fighting 15 days, they are again back to box 1 saying they simply cant do anything and literally told me to come back to Hyderabad to use the internet. Actually i would have shared the internet username and password with anyone of my friends and took the money and would have happily moved to Chennai. But these guys kept me on hold for 15 days promising me something that can happen and finally failed me.
Now all i did at the end is, called customer care to stop the cancellation and given my internet for my friend who can use there. Now i also decided to not take act connection in Chennai because of the worst experience they provided. Three, will share my experience in every portal and make other customers of the cheating and fraudulent policies of ACT.
Please be aware of long term plans of ACT, if you will be moving out, go for a monthly plan and second thing if you have a issue with ACT, switch to different internet provider, ACT customer care is the worst service you will see in industry.
Note: I have given a service request for 14k one year plan with Chennai team and i am going to cancel that and take a different internet provider. For ACT this is not much a impact, but this case will be highlighted in different forums to showcase ACT's customer delight.

I have already marked a mail regarding deactivation of my account last week as I am leaving from Hyderabad, so i want to disconnect my internet connection.
