Act is currently running a scam through mobile app and unfortunately, i fell prey to it. Mobile app showed a discounted price for the 12-month plan when booking through mobile app and once the amount is paid in full, they increase the total amount and send a new invoice. Act is luring people into believing that the total cost is less and then they charge more. Moreover, they won’t refund my total plan cost even if i disconnect the connection. Total rip off. Further details below:

When i installed the act mobile app, i was shown an offer (Screen shots attached) for 12+2 months act plan for rs.15588.00 and i selected the offer and it took me to the next screen where it showed rs.17553.32 with taxes. So, i paid the money in full. Then a week later, i saw a balance of of rs1993.36 pending. When i called the customer service, they said that they had charged rs593.36 monthly rental for the initial 16 days till my annual plan was activated and rs.500 for installation charges. But to my surprise, the total plan cost went up in the invoice from 17553.32 to rs.18, 393.84. When i contacted the customer care representative, he said there must be a mistake on act’s side and i’m required to only pay rs.1093.36. But when the balance hadn’t changed, i contacted the customer care 3 other times but in vain. The last customer care representative whom i spoke to, conceded that there is a mistake on act’s mobile app which lure’s people to think that the plan’s cost is lesser than what it actually is. But he refused to send over the same information in writing.
