I am filing this complaint here after not receiving any concrete reply- except borrowing 5 days to resolve the issue 2 times each on my first and reminder mail respectively.
I am summarizing my complaints as follows:
HDFC bank through its representative [protected]@gmail.com called me on 24th August 2019 offering me personal loan at rate of 10.75% on required loan amount of 2 Lac for the tenure of 5 years. This interest rate was offered to me after I had shared my salary and all current liabilities with above mentioned representative.
On reaching the agreement of stated interest rate, and pre and post processing charges I agreed to share my all required documents –Address Proof, Bank statements, Salary slips, PAN, Aadhar, Office ID, even name of my wife and mother.
In every communication with HDFC Bank I repeatedly requested and insisted that there should not be any change in any terms and conditions and they assured me each time that I needed not bother.
On 25th August 2019 I shared all documents with lady claiming herself from HDFC loan department and uday.[protected]@squaarecapital.co.in who she told as her senior and at that day too she assured me truthfulness of our agreement.
On 29th August 2019, HDFC representative dropped by my residence to get my signature on the docket and on 2 cheques without mention of amount on them. The docket too had no mention of EMI amount and rate of interest. When I raised this concern, HDFC representatives assured me on phone, at that moment too, that I needed not worry regarding any change of ROI and loan amount and the detail would be filled by Bank. I believed in reputation of HDFC and complied. The visiting representative also took photograph of my house number.
On 30th August I received a call from the same lady and uday.[protected]@squaarecapital.co.in that applicable interest rate is 11.x% which I refused because it was sheer breach of agreement upon which I had shared my all documents.
You disclosed the actual interest rate of interest only after I had signed blank cheque in your name. You violated my right as consumer of informed choice. You obtained my personal and professional document on false commitment. When you were already in the possession of documents for more than 2 days why the docket you brought to me for signature was empty for EMI and loan amount? Why you insisted me to sign the blank cheque?
Now, Once I have refused to accept your loan for your breach of agreement, what you are doing now with my documents, why did not you return them? How you are ensuring that they will not be misused or copied somewhere else without my consent? What data protection policy of yours are safeguarding confidentiality of my personal and professional data and what evidence you provide me that they are safe? Or all these do not matter to you at all?
Throughout my interaction with you I never felt that I was dealing with a reputed multinational Bank, rather whole conduct was like a rural money lender.
Your conduct has caused me immense mental and physical suffering and has wasted my time lot.
If I don’t receive any convincing explanation from you and do not see any visible action on the raised concern within few days, I will report to RBI as my very next step. I will take the matter to highest possible authority of rule of law to see at what level actually I am heard and treated with compassion. You just can't get away with by documents by fooling me and then forcing me to put in a place where you can bargain with me at your discretion alone.
