I have had a very bad experince with yatra.com. Detailed communication is given below.

Regards
Parita Shah

Greetings !!

As discussed with you a little while back as per the policy,we would not be able apply the Scheghen visa as your UK visa has already been refused.

If you want to apply then you can apply on your own.

As of now the total cancellation charges which will apply as you have also taken Andaman will be as per the below.

Andaman Package Cost: INR 31,999 X 2 = INR 61,998
UK visa fees: INR 5,700 X 2 = INR 11,400
Booking Amout: INR 10,000 X 2 = INR 20,000

Total cancellation charges as of now: INR 93,398/-

Amount Paid By you: INR 92,000

Regards/Saroj
Greetings !!

Fraud 1 : Announcing free offers for which you intend to charge later on.
Fraud 2: You convince customers that you shall have a memorable tour with all bookings & visa managed by you.
Fraud 3: You do not properly verify the documents to be submitted for visa application when you have promised for the same.
Fraud 4: You delay filing visa application in which case in an event of rejection one cannot re apply
Fraud 5: You do not provide adequate vouchers & air tickets to satisfy the consulate in the event of which the visa is rejected.
Fraud 6: You fraudently sell your unsold seats of Andaman by declaring it as free &
later charge for the same.
Fraud 7 You do not apply for Schegen visas with vouchers and easily cancel the tour & forfeit the amount paid.
Thank You once again for such a memorable experience which I shall share with every person I know & every person I do not know

Regards
Parita Shah

Dear Gagan,

There is absolutely no response from your operations dept for the Europe Tour.

Its almost a month since we have done the bookings. I hope you will not cancel/delay the tour with an excuse that the visas were not issued in time or provide with sub standard hotel bookings on account of non availaibilty of hotels suggested in the itenary

Complaint marked as Resolved
this is terrible.. this is definitely a fraud.. and also.. its seems there is very poor communication on the side of Yatra.com... this also proves its their fault for all the delays. with the trip that has already been ruined now because of them, it is their obligation to refund the amount paid.
horrible...can't believe they can getaway with this crap. take yatra to consumer court pari...lets all ban using yatra ever again
Hi,

Do you have the details of the package where they promised you the free andaman trip and in the fine prints of that trip, does it mention that incase the visa is rejected the free trip would be charged.

cause that clause is very important for you to file a consumer complain.

Also file and document every communication you have with them and dont sent emails, send all in writing and via registered post.

Also remember if you file a consumer complaint and you win the cost of legal expenses incured by you are to be paid by them.
I fully agree with the grievance, and wish that this gets enough publicity to act as a deterrent to further intentional negligance/ommitance to highlight critical conditions in bold and visible way
Can't believe a Good Reputed company like Yatra.com cheats customer like this.
Please also highlight the matter of delay in applying for the visas and iff you have mailed them the request to start paper work earlier add those mails too . Collect testimony from the other in your group who were traveling with you and whose visas haven't arrived as yet . They might be delaying the visas filling purposely to get maximum cancellations due to non reciept of the same.
If yatra.com is treating educated people in this way, how would they be treating not so educated ones? Or are the educated persons like us too polite to resort to other ways to take such service providers to task? Only forums such as consumer court can give relief to us.

Srinivasan
I think you should file a dispute with the credit card company, make a print of all the email communications you have had with them and send it to the bank. This is your right as a consumer and they will stop payment to yatra.com. I have worked with a credit card company and let me assure you this works. Going to consumer court should be your next option after this, Buy another tour on the same credit card first with another vendor, then dispute and do not pay the bank. Stating you are disputing the older charge, hence that should be credited to your card. That way both the bank and yatra will be under pressure, the bank will file the consumer court case as well and eventually you will get to go on the trip too. If you want help on how to file and documentation i can help you to get the terminology right while filing the dispute, post that you give hdfc my number stating, i am handling the legal options for you, their Subpoena department will handle things with me. We will also then use all necessary complaints as presentation from various consumer forums, etc. to prove our case. Irrespective of anything, the very fact that a consumer uses a credit card from any given bank is to enjoy some benefits and fraud protection.

Also their terms and conditions clearly state that dates can be amended and moved with a fee of Rs 5000 per person. So they should give you that option and re-apply for the visa at the earliest. Also pay the fee only once they give you confirmed air tickets, hotel vouchers.

Nirav.
This is just ridicules on part of YATRA.COM...thanks for sharing it with us and making us aware of the FRAUD.
I support your petition and claims, I see no difference between the roadside middleman and online booking agents. They are only concerned with their commission and become indifferent when they have to attend your complaints. I hope my views will strengthen your crusade.
I have forwarded my complain to Sonia Mehta, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Manish Amin, Co-Founder & CIO.Alok Vaish, CFO. Lets see what they can do to keep their reputation
My Uncle is a doctor & member of their assocaition. Shall forward my complain to all doctors for support
Shall continue forwarding my complain to every Indian till Yatra.com does not arrange for my 9 days tour to Europe as originally agreed at Rs 1, 12, 000 per person less UK expenses. Since last 5 days I have not slept peacefully, nor could concentrate on my work. I am having severe headache due to High BP but shall fight till the end. Thank you everybody for your support
dont let them go scot free, put this in press midday etc let them know they cant get away
I am not provided with any documents for application of Schegen Visa. It
is Yatra.com responsibilty to apply for the visa & pay for the same. I was under
the impression that yatra would give me support in appling for the visas & were
prudent enough to know all documentary evidence required for visa application so
that the visas are not rejected.. The support for visa application was delayed
inspite of repeated request due to which I cannot re apply. With all the support
I am getting with my complain I feel yatra is at fault & my tour cannot be done
due to incompetance of your team. I have not cancelled the tour but because
yatra team is not appling for my visa I cannot travel.

As for Andaman Package it was offered free we did not demand for the same. I am
not cancelling the tour. Yatra has cancelled the tour & you cannot charge
cancellation charges if tour is cancelled by you

Regards
Parita Shah

Dear Parita,

At the onset I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

We did see the complain put on the link given below and I have already
requested my colleague Love Misra who is our Regional Director for North
India to assist with your concerns as the Europe departures are being
handled by his team.

I am given to understand that your UK visa has been rejected and you are
applying for the Schengen visa. The Essential Europe tour that you were
booked for had the offer for Andaman's free . If for any reason the tour is
not being taken we have to charge for the Andaman's tour plus the necessary
visa and cancellation charges as applicable. Should the embassy grant the
Schengen visa to you, enabling you to travel your concern about the
Andaman's free trip will be addressed.

Love - Please could Ms Shah be assisted immediately. Thank you

Sonia Mehta
Chief Customer Experience Office
This is not fair with you. This is unfair practice of Yatra.com. You can able to file complian with consumer forum. Thanks for sharing your problems. I fully support your petition and claims. Also please inform to media for this type of fraud. Go ahead...
On Saturday yatra demanded Rs. 13398 extra. Since we agreed now they are demanding unreasonable amount which clearly shows that they do not want us to take the tour. Why I should bear the cost of their incompetance & not acting on time.

Dear Nimit,

Greetings from Yatra.com

We received your acceptance mail yesterday itself(Sunday) so will
arrange hotel voucher and ticket and
send same to Mumbai Visa team for further action.

Pls note that we are unable to hold 26th Apr night hotel accommodation
bcz same coming under cancellation so
pls check at your end if you want to stay 26th Apr at Paris.

We will book 4th & 5th May night accommodation arrangement in
switzerland for Visa purpose right now.

As per airticket is concern airlines not allow us to hold ticket on time
limit due to very close date travel and they already
canceled our PNR which we hold on Austrian airlines.Foe visa application
we need to furnish confirmed airticket and same
only poosible once we issued the airticket.

You also have to pay actual air ticket cancellation charges bcz scheghen
visa may get resused - bcz same discretion of embassy.
As you are deviating from group so you also have to pay deviation
charges + Increased Fuels surcharges i.e INR 5000 + INR 2000 and same
was already informed to you as per sales staff.

So total payment will be - INR 13, 398 + Per person actual current
available FIT airfare diffrence + INR 7000 per person (group deviation
charges + Increased Fuels surcharges) + Travel Insurance (INR 1500 per
person) before applying Scheghen visa.

We also like to inform you that most of the airlines soldout so current
airfare definetly will be on higher side, we are getting
Air france right now with approx diffrence of INR 19500/- Per person
compare to group fare and same also valid for couple of hours today.
I am left with no option but to put in Mumbai Mirror
Sorry Yatra.com I tried hard to convince you but no positive response from your end
this is the reason why most of the web based companies in India are not able to make as much progress.

most of the time they just interested in cheating people and not accepting their faults.

I feel yatra should not only compensate Parita back .. but also should ensure that the next holiday is provided to them free of cost so to retain customer good will.

We are extremely regretful of your experience. Please rest assured now that we are here. We have noted down your ref # and will get back to you shortly.

Wow.. its pretty sad that Yatra is not taking responsibility for these issues... even the lack not the of communication from their end after u emailing them time and again is pretty ridiculous.

You are probably not the only person this has happened with..accepting such nonsense is just not happening. They defi should be more alert and they better make up for their mistakes.

Thank You Yatra Team
Awaiting your confirmation
I am not going home until I receive your confirmation of my tour. Swiss Visa Embassy has also gien their
support

You can apply for the Schengen visa and let this office decide after all the documents are seen in totality.

Visa Section
18.04.2011
I have forwaded the mail from Swiss Embassy to Sonia Mehta
As per the UK Embassy,

"
You can apply for your visa within three months of your intended date of travel. We are only able to post-date visas by a maximum of three months from the date of the decision on your visa application. You can enter the UK anytime after your visa issue date but not before.
"

So why was yatraa waiting till the last minute when the package was booked atleast 2-3 months before your intended travel date. Had that been done it would have given you enough time to re-apply and enough time for you to provide the require documentary evidence needed to prove the ownership of Nimits firm.
Hi,

You may also want to consider this.
http://www.consumergrievance.com/icrpc.org.membership.htm

There is no lawyer required to file a consumer court case, if you are willing to attend the hearings. Also i know the person at that NGO and we will receive complete free guidance and assitance to file the complaint. We will not let them go scott free. Its not about the money, but more the ethics, which is something they need to realise.
Dear Parita,

Can I please assure you that at Yatra.com we are trying our level best to resolve this to your satisfaction.

It is indeed unfortunate that your UK visa has been rejected by the Consulate. Granting a visa is at the discretion of the embassy and, while we have large groups of happy customers departing for Europe, we cannot control incidents like these wherein the consulate rejects a visa if they are not satisfied with the papers submitted. Please note a travel agent is merely a facilitator in the visa process and in no way can control or influence the outcome of the decision.

Please do understand there are cancellation charges for hotels and flights that we are liable to pay as well to the respective airlines and suppliers.

The Andaman free holiday has already been consumed by you and is a cost that has been incurred by us as an organization. If you are unable to travel to Europe due to visa rejection it would seem unfair for us to bear the cost of a holiday that was offered as a part of the Europe package.

As a customer centric organization we believe in resolving all concerns to the satisfaction of our customers. I believe our Delhi office is in touch with you actively to resolve this and I would urge for your understanding and patience. Further more if needed a Yatra representative would come across and discuss this in person with you. Please let us know a convenient time. Alternatively please speak to our Regional Director, Mr Love Misra, at [protected]. Mr Misra has been trying to get in touch with you as well, but has not been able to reach you.

Thanks
Team Yatra
@Team Yatraa,

I understand this package was booked atleast 3 months prior, as per VISA rules o[censored]K, which you as a travel agent should be well aware off, one can apply 3 months prior to departure date, In which case they would have had atleast another 30 days for a re-apply. Also if tickets of air travel, hotel reservations, etc are booked, why are they not provided to Mrs Shah at the time of application of visa, Having travelled across many destinations of the world, i believe this is the first and foremost requirement of any embassy, is that the tourist have valid return tickets and hotel confirmations. Even Bangkok does not issue a visa without a valid return ticket. This is something a travel agent should again be well aware off. So I believe what you are trying to say is as a facilitator your organization is completely incompetent to handle international travel or provide visa assistance. It must be a complete fool who made them apply for a visa without a valid return ticket and hotel voucher.

I was certain to do a trip myself with my family and 4 other friends family with yatra to Europe basis the experience of Mrs Shah, however seeing what has been going on, I have changed my mind, I truly believe yatraa is a total Sham and completely incompetent, it has to be if there are more than 7-10 Pages of different consumer complains across just one consumercomplaint website.
Parita,

Great Job ...

This will the best example for Mr. Anna against corruption which yatra.com is trying to do with visitor...

Call us wherever its required to fight against corruption..
Parita, we totally support you and you shouldnt let this matter simply die down. They cannot get away with cheating people like this. I totally agree with Nirav and you should file a fraud case with the credit card department and dispute the payment as well.

These people are ridiculous fraudsters. Fight it out but dont loose your health over this. I'll forward this to all my friends as well.
thanks for information here .hope you get your benefits back .sue them, with this much evidence you will easily win your point.now, i will never use yatra.com or anyother travelling tour sites
I cannot understand how a reputed company like yatra.com fall to such standards. This is absolutely ridiculous. Parita, do not let this just go by, this matter should definitely be taken up else they will continue to cheat people.

I agree with Nirav's idea of filing a fraud case with the credit card department and disputing the payment. But do not give up and teach these people a lesson.

We support you with this.
Hey Parita! Can obviously understand your frustration, but Yatra does seem to have a point regarding the visa - it is provided by the embassy. Not sure how much they could've influenced the outcome and the embassy's decision.
There are really many websites & tours like these who promise you a dream holiday but in reality they are plain cheaters. They don't understand the mental agony that one goes through. There are many things you have planned when you book a trip & all goes for a toss. Feeling very sorry for Parita as it was suppose to be her first trip abroad and Yatra.com has literally killed the excitement.

Even my in-laws are going on a Europe trip end of this month with another tour & their tour was also going to be cancelled but finally they have postponed.
Just today I read in the TOI (Page 2) where an elderly couple has been compensated with the mental agony they had to go through when their trip was postponed & later cancelled.

Don't wait for Yatra.com to do anything because they won't. they will keep on giving you hopes & promises. Just go ahead & officially complain with the consumer court.
Please do not let these cheaters away. You have to make them learn a lesson that they will never forget. You have my support.
dear parita, this is really very shocking and i would request you to file a fraudulent complaint through hiring any lawyer. also appr0ach consumer court to fight against suh pople or else they will make many like us fol and earn money. if you need my help you can add me on facebook [protected]@yahoo.co.in
@Yatra Forum

"Hey Parita! Can obviously understand your frustration, but Yatra does seem to have a point regarding the visa - it is provided by the embassy. Not sure how much they could've influenced the outcome and the embassy's decision."

I am not sure if you read english correctly, Mrs shah, is not complaining that you guys did not get her visa approved cause we all understand that is beyond your control. But the basic guidance on how the visa was to be applied is incorrect.
1) Inspite of repeated reminders, one clearly stating for the application of visa in February, why was the visa process not applied for then, in which case within 20 working days a response would have come through and would have given them enough time to rectify documents for a re-application.

2) Why were no tickets, hotel vouchers etc not provided at the time of application. You should be well aware of how important these are.

3) Let assume the visa would have got rejected on the 2nd application, even then they would still have another 30 days to make alternate ticketing by skipping london and going for schengen visa and reaching paris directly. Tickets deviations made 30 days prior would have hard attracted any cost or charges from the airlines itself. Obviously since the booking was done on 23rd Jan and date of travel was 26th April.

4) Any company providing a free add on would only provide the same after the base travel is completed. In your case you provide the intended free trip, before the actual travel plan, since obviously the intentions were dubious from the very begining, amount paid 90K, amt of Free trip 60K, obviously we will flyby with the balance 30K.

Unfortunately forum yatra this isnt going to happen. If Mrs shah does not get what she paid for or change in travel dates extended where she gets the opportunity to either re-apply for the uk visa and schengen visa without any additional charges, We are going to fight for a charge back, if that dosent go through a consumer case is coming your way attached along with all 1000 + Complaints against your firm. Definitely you guys are not going to go scott free with this.
I agree with what parita has compained about and she should not only be refunded the entire amout as it is a mistake of Yatra Online to delay in submission of VISAS which led to rejection. She should be entitled for Free Trip to another destination including this one as well.

Yatra Online is a Fraud Online Traveling Booking Website.

Regards,

Devang Dalal
Yes i agree with you Parita, its a fraud by Yatra.com

First of all they cannot charge any fees for Andaman as it was a free package and its there responsibility to verify the document before the file the VISA.

except the UK visa mendatory fees...all amount should be refunded .

Regards,
Pratik
Yes I and Yogesh both agree what parita has complained about. And also will pass msg to all about how yatra.com cheat all people by giving all free offers and charging later on.
dear team please check as i have booked my tickets on 17th april but still I have not received my tickets my contact number is [protected] or [protected]
Simple : Change the name "Yaatna.com", most befitting name for the kind of troubles and agony this company is dishing out. Pl. don't commit what you can't deliver.
Prashant Doshi
What yatra.com has done is really to be condemned. They cannot charge you Rs. 90K simply because your visa got rejected for no fault of yours. When they promise a particular fare or package, it has to be after keeping in mind the fact that there are chances of passenger's visa getting rejected.

      Complaint marked as Resolved
I would like to bring to everyone's notice the bad service provided by Yatra.com with regard to refund against cancellation of air ticket.

I had cancelled an air ticket from Delhi to Gawahati (Flight no 9W 607) on January 05, 2008 (Yatra reference number: 4UPH5O). I had called the airline to cancel the ticket and informed Yatra of the same. However, no refund request was processed until January 22, 2008. I have been following up with the customer service on regular occasions [February 12, 2008 – spoke to Sashi, February 20, 2008 spoke to Poonam and Shashank]. Every time a refund is promised but to no effect. Today (February 28, 2008) I spoke to Kriti Khurana and I’m again promised a refund within 3-4 working days.

I’m really very annoyed with the service provided by the company and would request an explanation for the same.
Exactly the same case with me...booked on 6th Jan.
      Also spoke to kirti ....

      Still no refund.

I guess yatra must have invested the money somewhere
I had cancelled an air ticket from Delhi to Cochin (JET LITE - S2 255) on October 18, 2008 (Yatra reference number: HQ3EKA). I had called the airline to cancel the ticket and informed Yatra of the same, also sent the scanned copy of the ticket with the cancellation stamp to ashneet kaur on the same day.

According to Yatra policy you will get refund within 7 working days. I have been following up with the customer service for the past 2 months(via calls and emails). Every time a refund is promised but to no effect. Today (December 09, 2008) I’m again promised a refund within 3-4 working days.

I’m really very annoyed with the service provided by the company and would request an explanation for the same. Please do the needful.

Yes the same incident happened with me in refunding my international ticket which i had cancelled and they had taken a month and yet to refund.
Friends, i advice you not to book tickets through Yatra, unless you are 200% sure of your travel.
Getting refund is the biggest challenge.
It's not that easy to get your refund from Yatra.com.I have nothing against yatra.com but as a member of the public we all expect good customer service for our money.
      BEWARE OF YATRA.COM

Indian Airlines — flight delay, no announcements

      flight delay, no announcements

I am travelling by IC 169 to Raipur, flight was supposed to take off at 10.25 am. However now at 10:45 am there is still no news of the flight. This is after delay of 45 mins for security check and 1 hour of waiting for boarding pass. This is really pathetic service by the airport ground staff...

Yatra — non refund of my ticket which was not issued at all

on 6.3.2009, i had made a booking through yatra portal and booked a ticket on spicejet. the transaction went throufgh and money was debited from my account . an amount of rs 1747/--was debited, but immediately yatra said there was a problem in booking the ticket and hence that amount will be recredited back. i have made complaints to yatra and they have also replied on 10.3, 2009 that in seven working days the amount would be credited in to my account, but nothing has happened till now. the cmplaints to their customer service executives [protected] falls on daef ears because each time they say it will take 5 to 7 more working days. i am surprised that we are not able to even speak to any responsible officers from yatra who can tell us what has happened to thge payment. A debit made and amount taken for the goods not delivered and we have to run from pillar to post as consumers!
I had been provided wrong information about visa to Mauritius, so I along with three of my friends had to cancel my entire booking after transiting in dubai as they were not able to check in. It has been 2 months and I havent received my refund of Rs 100000. Everytime i get the reason...I shall get the money, then elections then holiday, bank holiday, then Yara delhi is responsible not mumbai. and I have been running behind these gold diggers since last two months. I am totally fed up. Dont know what to do.

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK VIA YATRA>>> NO FAIR DEALS NO REFUNDS>>>>>>>.

Yatra.com — Delay in Refunding Cancelled Air Ticket Amount

      Dear Sir,

I have booked Airticket through Yatra.com site on 28/04/2009 for my journey from KOLKATA to JORHAT (in Assam) on 10/05/2009 the details of my booking given blow :

Date of Journey-10/05/2009 Air-India-IC-229 Kolkata NSCBI Airport Guwahati Airport PNR No. RQACFY

10/05/2009 Air-India-IC-7761 From Guwahati Airport To Jorhat Airport PNR No.RQACFY

Air-India has informed me that the flight no-IC7761 was cancelled and was rescheduled to 12/05/2009, however they have informed me that I can cancell the booking and I will get full refunding including the tax amount without any deduction towards cancellation. I have cancelled the ticket on 07/05/2009 or on 08/05/2009 by visting the Yatra.com and I got the message that the amount will be refunded to me is excluding the tax amount but, I cancelled the ticket on the same day. There after I again talked to Air-India helpline no.[protected] and asked them why the tax amount was deducted even though your flight was cancelled they assured the whole amount will refunded.

But till date no amount was refunded to me neither the tax amount nor the ticket amount. Since I have purchased the ticket by using my Credit Card I have been checking my Credit Card account almost every day but nothing has been credited to my account. However, Yatra.com has send me a message on 05/06/2009 with Yatra reference number ZHBG2A thatb they will refund the amount within 20-25 days but, it seems to me as a false gesture to make me calm. It is purly harassment to customer like me, so I request thorugh this site to initiate appropriate action against the company and plaese help me to get the money refunded with approprite penality as decided by you.

      With regards,

      Hi situation is more pathetic..
I tried to book a flight ticket on 1st of july for a journey on August 18 from Cochin-Stockholm( transaction ID is O3Y978Z ). I dealt with MR. Prashant Kumar.
Before booking i clearly informed him that I am going in student visa and I dont have it with me as it was still on processing. He said, he need only my passport copy to book the ticket. So I paid 25% of the amount then through credit card and the rest of the amount on the next day through bank transfer. I also sent him the scanned copy of pay slip, and i waited for my eticket. On the next day, ie 3rd of july he emailed me that he need my visa copy for issuing ticket.I mailed him back asking why he dint tel tat before i pay the amount. He not even replied to that nor he called me back, till this date.

Later I called to Yatra and spoke to Mr. ritesh srivastav about this and he requested me to wait for 2 more days so that he will try to get the ticket for me. I got email from yatra to wait till 6 th evening to get a confirmation about the ticket, And on 7th july i got the cal from Mr.Ritesh telling that they cant issue the ticket without my visa, and he will refund the full amount. I agreed as I had no other go.
BUT, i havent received the payment yet! I almost called 10-12 times to yatra asking for this. Every time I get answer that my refund is on processing and i will get it in next 2-3 days.
See, I dont deserve this situation because it was the fault of the agent. I was literally cheated!! If they coudnt book ticket for me, they are supposed to give my money back.
Now its been 25 days since i asked for refund, and I am losing my SB interest of the amount.

I NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A BAD DEAL WITH ANY COMPANIES BEFORE!!!
my grand father meer wahed ali didnt come to hyderabad from saudi what happen till now we didnt get information please reply
I have same experience for my refund. its almost 20 days and still waiting for ticket cancellation refund from Yatra.com. I will not suggest anyone to book airticket from this site.

Yatra — Misleading customers by printing wrong cancellation charges on every yatra ticket

      hi all,
I have booked two air tickets from yatra.com having two customer in each teckets.Due to some reason i have cancelled the tickets and before cancellation i called a customer care executive for the cost confirmation, he replied 750 X 4 = 3000 + 160 X 2 = 320 total = 3320 but there was a hidden cost of rs 129 X 4 = 516 + 110 * 2 = 220 total = 736 and more surprisingly i called cust.care again and again he told me the same previous cost, then i told him whole calculation then he replied we dont refund insurance and other special charges.

So the problem is yatra dont include insurance cost in ticket bill they havent mention the insurance and special charges in cancellation fee. Thay are basically cheating the customers by showing wrong picture.

      Thanks

I would like to bring to the notice the unprofessional and most irresponsible behaviour shown by Yatra. I had booked round trip from DEL- SXR. My delhi to srinagar flight got booked and I found error on my return. Yatra customer care called and confirmed the booking on my return which was on 10/10/2010 however, they booked it for 10/11 (by mistake on their side). I later realised that they have booked my retun on the wrong date which forced me to ask for full refund and cancellation of my return ticket. With numerous calls to yatra, begging them to cancel my ticket and refund full amount, they made me wait for a week just to cancel the reservation. Once they cancelled the ticket and promised for a full refund, they stated that the amount would get credited in 72 working houring however, it was been around 20 days and I am still waiting for the refund.

Email sent by Yatra team leader is below which clearly states that the refund will be processed in 72 hours.

I am having the same problem for my refund. Its more than one month of cancelled ticket and no refund yet. For me, the airline cancelled the flight and now yatra is asking hard copy from airline regarding the cancellation.
Yatra has literally cheated me - Not received my refund amount .

I have booked Airline tickets on 9th Oct with reference number [protected] and cancelled on 18th Oct.

I have still not received my refund amount. I have done several followups.

WHY YATRA IS CHEATING CUSTOMERS AND TAKING THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY. IS THIS THE WAY THEY ARE MANAGING THEIR NEEDS. IT IS REALLY PATHETIC.
yatra.com is literally taking customers for a ride. I bet their CEO is one of those corrupt ex-bureaucrats with links to the utterly corrupt aviation ministry. Now they are giving a buy 1 get 1 free offer. Consumers naturally expect that if they buy a Rs. 2200 ticket under this offer then they will get a Rs. 2200 or lesser amount ticket free on the next flight booking from their site plus some taxes. But look at the way these [censored]s scam people. They put a fine print in the terms and conditions of the offer that only the base fare will be given as discount and then they change the base fare to Rs. 200 from Rs. 1800 for a Rs. 2200 ticket from Vadodara-Delhi and Delhi-Vadodara. So they give only a Rs. 200 discount when you use their promo code which they deliberately email 2-3 days late when buying the next ticket. Plus note how their system works. For the same flight from Delhi to Vadodara on Feb 21 2011 the Indigo website is showing base fare as Rs. 1800 while Yatra.com is showing base fare as Rs. 200. The taxes on Indigo are shown around Rs. 500 while on Yatra.com it is Rs. 2200 plus. Wow! How can the aviation ministry sit quietly and allow passengers to get scammed, how can they allow travel websites to set a completely different base fare when the website of the same airline and the same flight on the same day is showing the base fare as Rs. 1800. Not only that, their customer support team are total Delhi-type lukkha people, they way they talk and back answer reeks of sniggers suggesting "oh you you got fooled by our websites scheme, no point complaining". And to add to the woes, their website cancellation page lists ticket cancel charges levied by airline as Rs. 750 when the call centre person told me the charge was Rs. 350, he said that the website is showing a "default charge". Right. Default to fool customers again, and to stop them from cancelling tickets when they realise they have been fooled the first time over. See the attached images for the complete picture. They are also not refunding the Rs. 130 insurance purchased for the flight. Now if no one is travelling on the flight where is the need to buy insurance? But they don't refund that, they cut Rs 350 (airline cancel charge JetLite), Rs. 200 (Yatra cancel charge) and Rs. 130 (non-refundable insurance) so total money eaten by these [censored]s is Rs. 680 for giving no service on a ticket of Rs. 2200. Wow! We Indians are born scammers. Jai Hind, yea riigggggggggggggght.

Going by my personal experiences as well as the wide variety of complaints on this and other consumer forums, it seems that there is no honest company left in India at all. Shame, shame, shame, the land of the Vedas and the sanatana dharma has turned into a big pile of thanks to the globalised market.

Shame, shame, shame, the land of the Vedas and the sanatana dharma has turned into a big pile of thanks to the globalised market.
yatra.com is literally taking customers for a ride. Namasthe. we purchased Indian Airlines tickets for Delhi to Bagdogra ( 02.05.2011). It is unfortunate that the flight was cancelled and thereby caused lot of inconvenience to us. Indian Airlines anyway could not arrange any alternative for our travel and caused lot of inconvenience, now by delaying refund they are causing trouble to the customers. I request that the amount be refunded immediately.

      Yatra — Irresponsible Executives

I called Yatra for air ticket from HYD to Chennai. Mr. Vikrant ext. No. 2080,who works for yatra domestic flights has kept me hold for 32mins and took all the details and did not come back to me for next 12 mins. I was out of patience and called back yatra again. The new executive who answered my call asked sorry on behalf of Mr.Vikrant and said that Mr.Vikrant shift is done and he left. Now this lady who is trying to convince me said the fair which vikrant promised is not available with her and very nicely she said the fair goes little higher. This not the first time i am facing problem with yatra. Some time back they cheated me booking single seat for two persons from New York to Hyderabad. Hope you will see that these kind of executives not become a problem for the customers.

I had booked a hotel with Yatra.com on 1st of March with reference no YT6312497 for the Hotel Estrela Do Mar Beach resorts, Goa for the stay dates between 4/03/11 to 7/03/11. I had paid immediately through credit card as per instruction from their call center executive and I was given reference no. and I was told that I will receive the hotel voucher but till my departure on 3rd I did not receive any mail from them but I was asured that I have hotel booking. I reached to Hotel for check in on 4th March 11 at 11 am then I was told by reception that there was no booking with my name. I called Yatra.com from there and after 40 minut of discussion they told me that there is no availability at this hotel so they can provide me a 4 star resorts in complement with upgraded room near the beach in Calangute I said I can only accept if the hotel is at beach they said its on beach only so I told them let me check the hotel first then I can confirm wheather we can stay there or not. I reached Royal Park Hotel by taxi but when I checked the hotel it was far from beach and rooms and other places like swimming pool were dirty and I didnt find that place livable, also other people staying there were so unhappy with the services so I called them back and told them that we can not stay in this hotel so I arrange room in same hotel or similar hotel then they refused by saying that they have already paid to this hotel and cant provide other hotel. then I tryed to check other hotel but couldnt find anyone then I contacted the same hotel Royal park hotel then they also said that they are not informed about any booking from Yatra but after my request they contacted Yatra.com and somehow they gave us a room which was stinking and it took our whole day of vacation. the attitude of Yatra.com executives were like they were obliging us by giving us room. We were really cheater by yatra.com and had horrible holiday due to their fraud in booking process. I wrote a complain on their website which they did not publish niether shorted it out. they called me twice to inform that nothing can be done. Please take this issue at priority and remove such service provider in terms not fraud other customers.

          Dear Sir,
I have lost full fare cost of my onward journey due to misguiding by your customer care representative, which has been agreed by your senior customer care officer Ms Nadinini. The details of instance is as follows:
          1. I have booked on line return ticket ( Yatra reference no. [protected]) onward from New Delhi to Visakhapatnam on 27.03.2011 and return from Visakhapatnam to Delhi on 06.04.11 on SPICEJET
          2. Due to exigency of office work, I had to change my onward journey from 27.03.11 to 31.03.2011. Before changing, I had consulted your customer care, after a long discussion for more than 20 min, he had suggested that it would be better and cheaper if I book onward journey ticket by online separately and cancel the already booked of same sector separately.
          3. Accordingly I had booked online ticket for onward journey from Delhi to Visakhapatnam on 31.03.2011 (Yatra ref no. [protected]) on JETAIR WAYS
          4. On 25.03.11 when I tried to cancel onward sector ticket dated 27.03.2011 of Spice jet , I am getting message that the entire ticket onward & return to be cancelled.
          5. Immediately I have contacted your customer care, with lot of persuasion I could reach your senior customer care rep Ms Nandin. She has apologized for the inconvenience and took lot of pains to get best result and then told nothing much can be done. But asked for 24hrs time recheck the details by going through voice record of earlier conversations had with other customer care representative.
          6. On 26.03.11 she called me at 8 PM, as I was busy I could not talk much. Then about 8.30PM I called her, then she again apologized for the inconvenience and gave some options which gives a mere benefit of Rs 600/-. Even as the options are not suitable for my journey especially the reaching time of Spicejet to Vizag, I did not agree.
          7. You may be aware, presently I am residing at Bhatinda even to reach Delh to catch flight of 27.03.11 on 26.03.11 night is difficult without plan at later hours such as 9 PM when I was office at that time. But still to avert the situation, after getting verbal clearance from my Office I tried leave for Delhi by Train from Bhatinda Station, unfortunately all Trains towards Delhi were cancelled due on going RAILROKO by JATS.
          8. Hence, I had to forgo the onward journey ticket. I had travelled by JETAIR WAYS on 31.03.11 and returned on 06.04.11 by spice jet.
          9. Although, I appreciate the efforts taken by Ms Nandini for damage control, but could not succeed.
By the above, you would appreciate If properly guided I would have taken right steps in changing my Bookings. It is all fault of your system or may be because of recruitment of inexperienced customer care representatives.
In any case, as the fault is totally lies ion you, I request you to return my lost money urgently. As the payment has been done through Credit card, the money can be credited back to same card.
          With regards,

I tried to book my train tickets through the service provided by 'Yatra.Com' and I was unsuccessful in doing so because of some problem occurring in Yatra's server and yet the sum of Rs. 2,871 was transacted from my account.

I re-checked in 'My Bookings' section, and I was presented with the following details:

            [1] Ticket Details ( Yatra Reference No: 5S0N8E ) #Payment Failed
Your booking was unsuccessful. The payment charged will be refunded in a few days. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. From NDLS - SDAH

            [2] Ticket Details ( Yatra Reference No: U06N8E ) #Failed
Your booking was unsuccessful. The payment charged will be refunded in a few days. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. From NDLS - SDAH

            - NDLS - New Delhi Railway Station
            - SDAH - Sealdah, Calcutta

Immediately I checked my bank account balance and came to know that Yatra.com has charged me for failed/unsuccessful bookings! I contacted Yatra.com's customer support several times, and I received ZERO response! No action has been taken towards my plea as yet by the Yatra team.

This is not the first time that a customer is facing such a situation. There have been numerous cases before, and now I have started to believe that this is more than a 'technical glitch'. Although, the amount isn't big, but that certainly doesn't mean that I won't fight for my cause. I will give it another day and see if things work out between Yatra, otherwise I shall be forced to take this matter to the consumer court.

I am attaching a screenshot as a proof of authenticity.

Please share your views regarding this matter, and if anybody has been successful in resolving this issue, please do share your experience, so that I am prepared with my next plan of action.

I had booked 2 International Return tickets from Delhi to Sydney in the month of November 2010 from Yatra.com. The tickets were booked in my and my wifes name for two different airlines for two different dates They had an offer for a FREE SPICE MOBILE HANDSET with each booking done . After the booking was made I was sent 2 online forms to fill the address for dispatching the 2 mobile sets. I duly filled both the forms and sent them to Yatra.com that very day.
After numerous phone calls in the month of Jan 2011 we got only 1 mobile handset.
But still we have not yet received the second mobile set.
I contacted the yatra.com and they gave all false promises . Each time I was assured that the mobile will be reaching me soon. and each time a new date was given to me.I have all the numerous mail communications done with them . Still I have not received the mobile set. They have harrased me for last two months even after so many requests from my side.
Please pursue the matter at the earliest.
                Thanking you.

                Hi Rajesh,

We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may have caused. As per the T&C "A Free Spice Mobile will be dispatched for a confirmed International return air booking on Yatra.com". Under the above booking reference you are eligible for one phone which we have dispatched to you. For further details on the offer please visit http://www.yatra.com/cheap-flights/free-mobile-offer.html . We hope this helps resolve your query.

                Best Regards

I think it is quite sad to know that Yatra.com serves its customer in such a bad fashion and the customer has to undergo many harassments and troubles for getting the free gift as promised while booking international tickets.I would like to request the concerned department of Yatra.com to immediately give the 2nd phone to the customer as then it can spoil the image of Yatra.com, leading to legal court cases and moreover it is not a good customer service.I was thinking to book my tickets with Yatra.com but after hearing these sorts of complaints from other customers, I think I would rather book from other reputed travel organisation.Sorry to say Yatra.com, you have lost my faith.
                Hey Saurabh,

Thanks for taking time out for the feedback. We are processing the query to dispatch the second free mobile to the customer under booking reference OTQRJVZ. Unfortunately, we would not be able to oblige this request, and we deny all the allegations. The T&Cs of our 'Free Mobile phone on Return International Air booking' offer clearly state that on One Confirmed International Return Air Booking, A Free Mobile Phone would be dispatched. These Terms and Conditions are clearly disclosed to all customers at the time of purchase of the tickets, and were disclosed to the customer as well. Suffice it to know that hundreds of customers have utilised this offer with due conformity with the Terms and Conditions. Further, you can yourself check the Terms and Conditions of this offer at: http://www.yatra.com/cheap-flights/free-mobile-offer.html. We value your business & assure you of our best services at all times.

                Thanks and regards,

                Team Yatra.com
                Hello,

I am sure the person concerned has clearly stated that they booked two different International tickets with different flight details and different departure and arrival dates. So as per the T& C of the offer, still the customer is supposed to get 2 mobile handsets as they have not booked 2 return tickets under the same booking reference number with same departure dates .So I hope you process the dispatch of the second free mobile to the customer immediately.Thanks.
                Dear Mr. Arora,

We wish to inform you that the customer has two PNRs for the return journey made under one booking reference OTQRJVZ. We hope this helps resolve your query.

Again and Again i am shouting to People don't get caught by Yatra.com as well as Shiftthought offers they are running presently.

Few days back i have received phone call from Yatra.com representative and he told me that i am one of the 52 customer selected for offer run by Yatra.com with Shifthought and they are providing me 40000 worth of voucher for 1 Year. This Voucher is transferable to any one.

Also when i asked them about T&C they told me to go through the website. With each and every T&C i have read, i raise the question and certain clause mentioned on the website. But the who was calling me told me Yatra.com is such a big and reputable company that they will not run away with your money.

Here are few question raised by me and to confirm if any representative of Yatra.com reading this you can listen to the call made by the person on my cell phone on 30th of March at 12:21 PM and 01:30 PM.

                  1) Can i combine two or more Vouchers for booking, he told me yes but i told him on your website it mentioned that i can't. But in reply he told me that this is for ticket booked earlier and i can't redeem the voucher on ticket already booked.

                  2) I am getting only Rs 500 voucher for Domestic Air Flights and that too on basic return fare. In reply he told me that i can use Domestic Holiday Package voucher to get discount on total fare.

                  3) He also told me i will get Rs 2500 voucher as Big Bazar coupon as well as Rs. 2500 cash card that i can use to get discount on big outlet when purchasing clothes or electronic goods.

I am still to receive Voucher yet, but after reading and searching on internet and talking to two-three friends of mine i cam to know they are cheating us badly.

How come Company like Yatra.com can do such things to customer like me who trusted them blindly. They are really fraud whether i will get the 100% refund or not. But i don't want anyone to get involve in this. They are really cheaters.

Here are my Transaction details and i want 100% refund:

                  Complaint marked as Resolved

Yatra.com — Cheating on line ticket booking.

Yatra.com in the Month of March. 2009 advertised their web site and invited public to book tickets for various sectors with various offers and to avails discounts / concession etc.,

I being frequent air traveler visited website on 6th March, 2009 with a view to book tickets for my trip to Chennai along with my family. On my search I have noticed an advertisement flashing with details specifically mentioned that “ book ticket Kingfisher Red before 31st March, 2009 through ICICI net banking and avail 10% discount and gift vouchers worth of Rs.4000/-“ I have checked thoroughly the flashing advertisement and web page also for any terms and conditions relating to the said advertisement but nothing was available or no link site for the same. Accordingly I have booked four tickets for my total family from Mumbai to Chennai for 30th April, 2009. The Yatra reference Number given was NV9BQA, Airline PNR No.BSICFA. An e-Ticket was also sent by yatra to my email id i.e [protected]@rediffmail.com.

As I did not hear any information from yatra for discount as announced in their advertisement I had contacted yatra office over phone to know the status of the discount offered . But to my utter shock and surprise I was told by their office bearers / staff that as the travel was after 31st March, 2008, I am not eligible for the said discount. To my query yatra office bearer / staff further told that it is not possible to put the total terms and conditions in the web site and on my request the terms and conditions were forwarded through mail to me.

Yatra advertisement is misconceived and it is nothing but cheating consumers. No where in their advertisement a simple single word was not shown that “travel on or before 31st March”. If the advertisement shows “book & travel before 31st March 2009” I could not have any grievances against Yatra. Further, if any such word i.e t&m applicable, I would have contacted yatra office over phone to know the details and to book my tickets.

Yatra.com advertisement simply alluring customers to book tickets on seeing their advertisement and to en-cash customers by concealing or by not revealing certain facts/ conditions intentionally which naturally alerts customers or to enable them to take all cautions before book their tickets. Yatra.com intentionally and deliberately did not disclose the terms and conditions related to the said advertisement to the visitors of the web site and there was no hint or indication about eligibility even before confirming the ticket on online booking process.

I have issued a notice through my Advocate to Yatra.com and the said Yatra.com replied with all false and baseless grounds. Their advertisement is only to cheat customers and to make money.

Their selling of tickets on wrong / false offers is nothing but cheating consumers and is liable to be restricted. It is done by Yatra.com with deliberate intention only to gain wrongfully and it is a clear cheating of customers.

Hence register my complaint and do the justice.

Thank you for contacting us at Yatra.com

We regret the inconvenience caused. As we check we did mention the travel period restriction is till 31st March 09 under the above said offer in the T&C's. We regret the inconvenience caused, but we would not be able to offer the discount on the above booking.

I have also bought the Yatra Discover the World offer.
Now, from yesterday, i am trying to reach their number given on the site. It is unreachable. Moreover the email that they have mentioned on the website. It is NOT registered and if you mail on it, it fails.

I just now saw that there are so many people that were made fraud by Yatra based on this.

I am really disappointed by this careless attitude of Yatra.

I have been a regular customer of Yatra and did numerous booking. Now i am seriously thinking to shift.

Looks like I am also being cheated the same way. Someone from Yatra.com called on my mobile and gave the same offer. I asked her the reduction in price that I can get if I take this offer for a Bangalore-Calgary return ticket. She said she will check and get back to me. After a while, she called back and said the actual fare of the the return ticket is Rs. 61, 000 and if I take their offer I can get it for Rs. 43, 000. She even explained the maths to me saying if I add Rs. 7, 000 (the cost of buying the offer), I stand to gain by spending only Rs. 50, 000 for the ticket costing Rs. Rs. 61, 000. After that I paid nearly Rs. 7, 000 online with my credit card and purchased the voucher. And yesterday got their email saying I am eligible for "Eight International Air Ticket voucher worth Rs. 1000/- each – Total value Rs.8000/-" !!! When I sent an email requesting explanation, another lady is telling "Sir, we cannot refund the money, we will send you a Polo watch worth Rs. 3, 500" !!! I am now trying to get my money back. So Folks, beware of this Discover the World Offer from Yatra. You may end up discovering how easily they can cheat and wearing a Polo watch!!! PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO GET THE CASH BACK FROM THESE CHEATS -- DA, Kerala

                    Address: Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra

This has reference to call from Shift Thoughts few days back and my acceptance of their scheme.

I was told that against the payment of Rs.7000/- or so, I will be getting Vouchers for Domestic and international flights from Yatra.com amounting to Rs.18000/- and Rs.8000/- respectively. In addition I will also get some Hotel Booking Vouchers.

I accepted the deal only for flights booking and not very much interested in Hotel/Holidays booking.

However when I received the vouchers I was surprised to get flight vouchers of lesser amounts and that too not usable at a time.

Further certain special terms were never informed which are printed on the overleaf of Vouchers:

One can use only one voucher of Rs.500.00 per booking of a return flight (which means actually 2 flights). Discount is applicable on basic fare only and not on the total fare. Normally Basic fares these days are in the range of 200/300 only.

This means Yatra.com have systematically planned to fool people by telling them about great discounts – which in reality is complete eyewash.

I wrote to them – but they said we had given you confirmation call in which you agreed too terms and conditions – narrated to you etc. However terms were never explained with subtle details and that is how I got duped and I am sure many are getting duped.

I feel this should be brought to the notice of people. I am sure that there must be A Law that “no customer can be forced to accept the terms just by informing him telephonically” – there must be written document with terms which should be signed by a consumer.

I have written to them (to reverse the deal and refund my money) including a letter hard copy to their Managing Direct Mr. Dhruv Shringi – but they have conveniently denied it.

I hope to receive urgent response and guidance to expose unfair business practices adapted by Yatra.com

                    Hi Rohit,

We are extremely distressed at your experience and will do our best to take care of any grievance. For that, please first provide us your ref # by mailing it at [protected]@yatra.com or providing it here. We will do our best ASAP.

                    Thanks and regards,

                    Team Yatra.com
                    Hi Rohit,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us your feedback.

We have investigated this case and listened to the complete call recordings for the sale and verification calls made to you. Our agent had provided the break-up of the various vouchers to be received by you as a part of this sale.

Also, during the verification call, the agent had guided you to the website where all the T&Cs of the offer are also listed. In fact you have used the same website to charge your card for this offer.

We understand that you have already been in contact with our office regarding the refund for this case. And, while we had provided the complete details prior to the sale, we also value our relationship with you, and are thus processing a full refund on this sale.

Our Team has already been in contact with you regarding the refund. We are awaiting some details from you to enable us to process the refund. Request you to provide us these details at the earliest.

                    Best Regards

                    Team Yatra.com
"hello, i am calling from Google and your telephone no. is selected as winner for 5lakh rupees in lottery and on the payment of just Rs. 5000/- towards web development of our new search engine, we will be giving you your Prize money. Just give me your credit card details and cvv number. There are no T&C on this and it's just a one time call...as we are calling up the winners only thru phone...do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity...there is no website where you can look at this offer...it is just for some few selected individuals like you...so pls give me the details..."

AND THE SIMPLE MINDED CUSTOMER JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY GIVE HIS CARD DETAILS WITHOUT CHECKING THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE OFFER/CALLER...

How simple is to blame other people when you yourself are blinded by the lures of the phoney offers...??

even the most educated and able person can be so dumb and well i can say greedy...they deserve it...without even thinking that if a company is giving 900% times of the money they actuallly are paying there has to a catch...

                    FOOLISHNESS AT IT'S BEST !!!
                    Dear Guest

Rohit, cheers to you for posting this. I received the same call from Shift Thoughts and the offer sounded too good to be true. I had a hunch that there must be some catch.

Just out of curiosity, I googled this, and came across your post here. I must thank you as your post helped me tremendously from being a victim to this fraud.

I do have some contacts in newspapers and I will send them this story (and mine too) so that it gets published and the entire country gets to know of the fraudulent practices being undertaken by companies such as Yatra and Makemytrip.

They cant play with the minds of honest customers and must be bought to justice.

I am in the same boat. We were decieved by various misinformation by Yatra team. The Shift vouchers are useless and many fine print items were not mentioned in call.

I have wasted 7000 Rs not to get a penny's return from it.

                    Rita
Yatra has cheated me badly in same way. I accepted this offer only because to get 500/- discount on flight booking but later when I received the vouchers, came to know that its applicable on return fly. They never had mentioned this before me. Only a stupid person would accept this scheme if truth was disclosed during initial calls.

Prior to accepting this scheme from YATRA I had a good impression on them, and used to book Flights and Hotels from them regularly. But now I got to know how they are operating. They had simply misguided me in the verification call.
Few basic hidden conditions, based on which I could not redeemed the coupons YATRA have provided. These are the recent incidents I faced and while the 3rd point (specified below) happened, I could not stayed apart writing my experience…there might many apart from this..Pls have a look
                    1. 500/- discount on flight booking
Hidden Conditions: Applicable on Base fare. Applicable on Return fly.
                    Why useless to me?
                    • My return dates are not fixed(unknown).
                    • The place I often used to book flights their prices are always around 5000/- or so.
Suppose I predicted my return date and go ahead to book, then I’ll have to pay minimum 10, 000/- to book the flight by taking a risk for return date. And then only they will give me a discount of 500/-.
Whereas other travel agents are providing more discounts for sure on one way fly. So no meaning to fool my-self going with them.

                    2. 1000/- hotel vouchers
Hidden Conditions: Applicable only if you are booking for 3nights or more.
                    Why useless to me?
Whenever I want to book any hotel to spend some time at any tourist places near/far to my city, I usually need them for 1D1N or 2D1N or 3D2N(max I can afford looking into the leaves I can get as I am a salaried person).
But they won’t allow me to redeem the vouchers as they have a condition of 3nights. Unlucky again 
                    3. 3500/- on holiday package
Hidden Condition: You cant apply for redemption on your partner on twin sharing. Applicable only if 3 Nights and 4 Days. And some more later I got to know.

                    Why useless to me?
This was the tragedy happened with me. This is height of fooling people, as follows
Considering the fact that I had paid 7000/- to YATRA, I decided to plan a holiday for 3 nights and 4 days to Rajasthaan(Mount Abu and Udaipur). I started knocking them 12 days before for the trip. They told they wont have a proper package but can customize and would let me know.
They took my contact number and assured me to give a call after 1 day. I awaited 2 days but dint get their precious call. Again I called and same conversations happen and again I waited for 3 days. Still no responses.
3rd time I thought lets be bit clever and asked the contact person’s name and in subsequent calls taken e-mail ids. Then started following on e-mail ids. After 3 days and 6-7 follow ups on mails 4-5 on calls, they provided me a customized package by manipulating in such a way that it comes to an amount that is much more than the amount that I can arrange by my own.
Below is the itinerary they have provided:
                    Price for 02 Pax : Rs. 28, 300 /-
Hotels Used In Udaipur : Rajputana resort / Swaroop Vilas / India international. ( It depends on the room availibility which hotel you will get )
Hotel Used in Mount Abu : Jaipur House
02 nts in Mt'abu or in Udaipur by Ac.Indigo car.tour start either way.the gvn package is for 03nts and 04dy basis for 02 ppl
                    Inclusions :
                    Transfers
Sight Seeing by AC Indigo Car ( City palace, Sahelion ki Bari, Folk Museum(lokkalamandal).
                    Breakfast
                    03 Nights /04 Days Accomodation
Now upon my further investigation I found that same itinerary I can arrange by my own in less than 15000/- as shown below (these are the maximum amounts taken)
                    Rajputana Resort : 2N (Delux): 8000/-
Much Better than 'Jaipur House' hotel : 1N : 3000/-
AC Cab for 3 complete day booking: 3600/-
                    Total would be : 14600/-
                    4. Dine card is also not at all usefull. As told during the initial calls it can be used across any restaurant and 25% discount could avail.
                    This a fraud statement.
Outlets are very less in numbers and most of them are providing 10% discount, which we can avail without this card as well.

Now I’m requesting YATRA to refund my amount back, as I know I cant use any of your discounts VC in a year (not even 10 years). If you want you can deduct a certain %age from 7000/- as part of your processing or profitability.
Also I am impatient to give back your wrist watch+all vc+dine card+also ready to pay other charges

I already have raised this to below email id.

This is with refernce to Jet Airways
I have booked Jet Airways Flight through Yatra from Mumbai to Amritsar on 11 January, 2011. The flight timings were as follows:
From Mumbai to Delhi (11:05 AM - 1:05 PM)
From Delhi to Amritsar (1:50 PM- 2:50 PM)
But due to some reasons, the flight got delayed and it arrived at Delhi Airport by 1:50 PM. By the time the flight arrived at Delhi, my flight from delhi to amritsar had already left..
Huge inconvenience was caused, also Jet Airways authority also misbehaved and no customer support was provided at their end
I was promised refund amount, but still 40 days has passed no money is credit in my account

In the month of December 2010, we booked a tour for NEPAL through Nagpur Branch of Yatra Online Company. While discussion Local Branch Manager Shri Ritesh Bawangade told undersigned that for Immigration purpose PAN CARD is sufficient and he advised us to carry PAN CARD for all 08 persons, since it was made very clear to him that all 08 members do not have the PASSPORT and/or VOTING CARDS.In support of his statement he mailed me one letter on 03.12.2010, in which it was clearly mentioned that Any photo ID card issued by Central and/or State Government will be sufficient for the purpose of immigration.Based on his confirmation we booked our tour to NEPAL through him and Paid him Amount in 03 Installments that is Rs.70000/-, Rs.50000/- and finally Rs.72829/- totalling to Rs.1,92,829/-.As per programme we 08 persons reached at New Delhi Airport on 31.12.2010 at around 10 AM and stood in the queue for check-in and Kingfisher Official refused to accept our check in for the want of PASSPORT or VOTING CARD. I had booked 8 airtickets on various sectors for my friend by Yatra Online Pvt. Ltd. Indore office in the month of December 2008. I have the receipts of the same. Due to some reasons my friend could not travel to India and so I informed the company in writing and took their acknowledgement that my friend is not travelling and so kindly cancel the tickets and refund me the amount as per the company's rule.
I was assured that within 5 days I shall be paid the amount. But now its almost 3 months and now the company has refused to pay me the amount. The amount cost almost 30 thousand.
On 6-5-2009 as a IRCTC agent I booked two Air tickets. One from jammu to Srinagar for Spicejet flight for 9-5-2009 and from Srinagar to jammu on Go Air for[protected].
For jammu to Srinagar ITZ Cash debited Rs1876/58 and for Srinagar to jammu ITZ cash debited Rs1875/57 (A file is attached).
The Spice ticket shows amount Rs1798/- whereas go air ticket shows Rs1707/-
The ticket purchaser is paying to me the amount which the ticket is showing.
The loss is going to me Rs60/- (1876.58-1798=60/ ) and 168/57(1875.57-1707/=168.57)
Kindly make necessary refund to me for the excess charged)

I have booked air ticket on December 13, 2010 from port blair
to Delhi via chennai [ Kingfisher airlines-IT 3632 (portblair to chennai)
and Kingfisher airlines IT-233 (chennai to Delhi)] for January, 14, 2011
and ticket amount was Rs. 9800/-. It was cancelled without my knowledge.
Then on the eleventh hour, I booked a ticket with booking reference no. 22BN37 and it was JET LITE-S2 320, it was direct from portblair to delhi and costed me Rs. 16926/-
, I suffered a lot in the process. The yatra people are not interested in listening to the complaints. neither they are ready to pay the cost of the ticket which was cancelled at their end.
it is a matter of serious negligence and harassment and i am contemplating to initiate legal action against yatra.

yatra.com is literally taking customers for a ride.

                                Dear Mr Bhatia,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us your feedback.

We would like to take this opportunity to clarify that the fares displayed on our system (base fare as well as taxes) are exactly in accordance to the information provided to us by the airline. Please refer to the screenshot of the Indigo Airlines website provided by you. The Base Fare (Indigo Fare) is Rs 200 - exactly the same as the fare appearing on our website. The column on the left of the screen shows an amount of Rs 1800 which is the total of the Base Fare and Airline Fuel Charges. Airline Fuel surcharges are also collected by the airlines as taxes on the tickets. This is the industry standard and airlines & travel agents across the world issue tickets the same way.

Regarding your second point on cancellation charges, we have made note of the error on the website, and will have the same corrected at the earliest possible. Please note that when the refund is processed, we do ensure that the amount deducted is as per the fares, and in this case we would have deducted Rs 351 not Rs 750 while processing the refund.

We hope the above explanation helps to clarify the points raised in your post above.

yes this is a big scam on yatra. First of all, we cannot book the tickets at the same time. We have to wait 48 hrs to get the code (the above customer says that they in fact email the code 2-3 days late)

Secondly, the ticket I am booking has base fare of 1 rupees, and as mentioned above, the "free" part is only on the base fare.. so I can get 1 rupee discount!! wow! that is amazing. What a SCAM!!!

I say this is a scam because they are heavily advertising 1 rupee discount as "buy 1 get 1 free".

Highly misleading!!! I will never book with Yatra again as you have lost my trust. I urge everyone else to also boycott yatra and look for more honest agents.

FRAUDELENT ACTIONS OF YATRA: RESPONSE REQUESTED.
On January 4, 2011 I contacted Yatra for a travel package to Goa and was connected to Mr. KAPIL KAKKAR (in the Bangalore office). Through repeated misrepresentation in terms of flight and hotel availability, he succeeded in collecting 1 lakh and 29 thousand rupees from me. I was sent a false itinerary(YT5958437) and a receipt was received from “Arpana” (REC/10-11/R4712056). Through repeated SMS messages MR. BALAJI (who claimed to be a Yatra manager) assured me that the package was being finalized and that there “system was down” so that could not send me the hotel (CITADE DE GOA) until later. Throughout the day on Jan 7, I sat in front of my laptop and exchanged another 22 phone messages and SMSs and was told (I logged it), to give them another 10 minutes and another 15 minutes.
Hours before our departure, I was sent a fictitious hotel voucher for Citate de Goa for stay from Jan 8-11 (with all meals etc.)
We went to the airport counter 2 hours early and presented the PNR number; we were told that it was not a “good” PNR. The GoAir supervisor and I had 90 minutes of conversations with Yatra employees who claimed no knowledge and kept us transferring us to customer relations. Finally, we were told to go to the Indigo counter as yatra had given us the wrong information.
As we were boarding the plane, we were warned by airline employees to be careful as Yatra had a bad reputation and we should not trust their hotel vouchers. I got on the phone to the “manager” of Yatra – Mr. Balaji who swore repeatedly that we were not to worry. I called 5 times and sent sms to him asking for the hotel reservation number. He gave me a fake number and said that there will be a car waiting for us and he swore again that there was nothing to worry and that I should contact manager at Citade de Goa and we will be taken care of. He said he was 1000% bsure and would refund double amount from Yatra if he was lying. I was in a state of panic, but had no choice.
When we landed in Goa, the airport pick up for Citade de Goa had no record of our arrival and upon contacting the hotel we were told that the hotel had been sold out for a long time and there was no room availability. I called Mr. Balaji and others at Yatra and was told that there was some mistake. I kept calling Mr. Balaji and he absconded and refused to take my calls. We were stranded at the airport in Goa with 2 children and my wife and sister (a heat patient).

We booked another hotel and rented our private car to go there. An hour later as we were getting near the hotel, we received a mystery call from Marriott indicating that we had a room there for the night paid for by Global Travel of Delhi. I reached the Marriott and was told that we had ONE ROOM and NO MEALS and for ONE NIGHT ONLY! Again, a series of phone calls and finally were told that Raj pg Global Travel and approved 2 rooms for one night. Exhausted, we entered out rooms at 9 pm and went to bed.
My sister had to receive medical attention the next morning due to stress and was told to rest and get a follow up check up upon return to Delhi.
In the meantime, Balaji continued to abscond and the next morning we moved to Taj Aguada at our own expense.
Next day, I sent a SMS to Balaji and he said he would “resolve” the matter as he was speaking about this tragedy with his superiors. He said he would get back “in 10 minutes”.
My lawyer Mr. Tiwari (from Delhi) spoke with Balaji the next day and Balaji promised to call me back “in 10 minutes”. Never heard back from anyone at yatra.
Our return flight was also incorrectly stated on the original PNR. Instead of a direct flight as promised, we came via Bombay. Had I trusted the original flight information provided, we would have missed the flight altogether.
As my family leaves for Canada tomorrow, we are in a state of disbelief. My sister is seeking medical attention and will not be returning with us. I have incurred severe financial loss and mental pain.

am sure you understand that fraudulent, deceptive and misleading practices and illegal in India as well as the US and the UK and your employees have consistently and unfailingly indulged in the same.
(As head of a management training company in North America (www.GOCManagement.com),I can see how fast growth at Yatra has completely overtaken your control systems. Your ethical and legal constraints are now fully overshadowed by the aggressive commissioned sales. I can also for see serious problems for your company in the near future, but all this is not my concern. However, I have no sympathy for a company that has totally compromised business sense for enhanced turnover.)

                                    ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN/CONTEMPLATED:
                                    1. I have ALL transcripts of SMS messages and emails from Yatra representatives are being prepared. I am also in a position to provide sworn affidavits from representatives of Taj, Marriott and Go Air who will attest to the fact that Yatra practices deception and deceit of this sort an on-going basis.
                                    2. Management at Go-Air,Marriott, Citade de Goa and Taj and other network members should be cautious in their dealings with Yatra Online and will be continually apprised of this case.
                                    3. Economic Crimes Branch of Delhi Police will be appraised of the situation and a complaint lodged with the corresponding authorities in your particular jurisdiction in Haryana.
                                    4. Being a private limited company, your actions will be fully reported in all available public forum. Since you operate out of the UK and the USA, appropriate authorities (for instance, FTC in the US), will be informed to curtail your “deceptive and misleading practices’.
                                    5. Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission of India will be requested to investigate Yatra Online.

Looking forward to your considered response.

                                    Sincerely,

I booked return flight with yatra.com (ref num - [protected]) and I was eligible for Reebok free watch offer.. i filled the details also.. firstly u said dat the watch will be delivered by 22th November.. i didnt get. so i posted a complaint.. then u said that it will be delivered by 30th november.. still i havent got anything..like me, i have read somebody else also complaining, and the resolution u have provided now is that the watch will be delivered by 30th November..
was that Reebok watch offer a trick to lure the customers??? i dont think dat u will be couriering the watches to anybody.. bcoz courier usually reaches any part of India within a maximum period of 1 week.
But in ur case, u are just adding months, so that the customers will finally forget about the offer, and u need not send anything.. i guess dats ur real strategy??? isnt it??

doing like dis, u are decreasing the reputation of yatra.com.. i[censored] do not wish to give free watches, then u better not publish such offers..
i promise never to do booking with yatra.com.. other websites are much better, atleast in the respect of honesty..
u dont treat ur customers properly..

And other customers who are reading this complaint, i request u to stop making anymore dealings on yatra.com.. better go for makemytrip.com..

It is a very interesting rpely by Yatra Care that Mr Gupta had not filled the registration form! Yatra is dishing out lies even after 6 months of my booking the return tickets. Every time I have called, I was told that the watch will be delivered that month end. Nov end, Dec end, Jan end, Feb end & Mar end have passed without the watch in sight.

When I checked with them yesterday, I was told, it will be dleivered on 8th Apr, and today I get a mail that it will be delivered by end April. What type of Customer Service is this?

If this is the case with such a 'reputed travel portal', it would be better to book directly on airline website. There was a similar promotion by ibibo, and I got the watch as promised.

                                        Address: South West Delhi, Delhi

I booked my International return ticket through YATRA on 14th of Dec 2010 ( Booking Reference No.5837058). I was told about the free mobile offer. I made a partial payment of RS 43000 on 14 dec itself. Did my address verification on 15 dec 2010 for free mobile and made a remaming partial payment of 7872 on 22 dec 2010. I called th customer care 2-3 times to know why havent I recieved the mobile, they simply refuse me by saying that i made partial payment on 22nd dec, and last date was 20th. I have gone through the terms and conditions and it says as below.

Bookings made till December 15, 2010 are eligible to get the Free Mobile Phone. Only address verification requests submitted till December 20, 2010 will be eligible to receive the Free Mobile phone. Please check your email for instructions on how to submit a verified address for delivery of the phone.

I did address verfication on 15 of dec itself.

regarding partial payment according to terms and conditons which is

In case the customer avails the Partial Payment facility, he/she will receive the mobile only after the complete payment is made.

I made my complete payment of 22nd dec. 2010

now your yatra team is saying i not eligible for the offer. whereas i have gone through the terms and conditon and i dont see anywhere I am wrong.

In case my dispute is not resolved, I will be cancelling my yatra booking, and will not ever make a mistake of doing my any booking through yatra in future.
