I was trying to book tickets for my daughter's travel from delhi to amsterdam, and found some good options available on make my trip. Of these options, we decided to pick the vienna route to amsterdam; i. E. By booking austrian airlines. The ticket price was approx. 33, 000 rupees one way, and we booked it. Booking id: nn[protected].
After a few minutes, we received a whatsapp e-ticket. Rather surprisingly, on this e-ticket, the name of the airline we originally booked, i. E. Austrian airlines, was nowhere to be seen. Instead, to our utmost disappointment, the booking showed a spice jet booking from delhi to amsterdam (Via vienna). It must be noted here that on the very website of spice jet, it is clearly mentioned that the airline only flies to 7 international destinations; none of which are in europe. It also did not mention that the flight was perhaps operated by a different carrier.
Accordingly, it was quite interesting how make my trip was able to book my daughter on a flight which is nonexistent.
We also googled the flight numbers (Sg8582; and sg377), which showed domestic flights from kolkata to patna).in order to fool customers, make my trip was using the same flight number as the original austrian airlines flight (Os8582), but with spice jet airline initials.
We then called customer support, and after being transferred 5 times and being on hold for at least an hour, we received actual austrian airlines tickets from them team, which was a nice effort.
However, we still do not consider this issue resolved. Not only do we demand a properly sound explanation for why this unacceptable instance occurred, and how we make sure it won't happen again, but also expect sound compensation for fraud from this established yet cheating company.
I look forward to receiving a response and adequate compensation for this disgusting and unprofessional fraudulent behaviour, before filing this complaint to higher authorities and taking action on social media platforms.
