I had a bitter experience with one of the authorised (!!!) service centres for Sony Ericsson mobile phones.

I have a k850i mobile. The warranty period has ended for the same. When I had a touch screen problem I got it serviced in Fourgen Communication Pvt. Ltd. I was mentioned that the keypad need to be changed for the problem. I agreed and they changed the same along with the software and charged me Rs.965

When checked with them during the service, I was told that they are using the original Sony spares only. No details about the warranty period of the spare was discussed during the repair. I got the mobile repaired and I checked for the condition, it was working fine.

Within a month from the date of repair, my mobile had the problem again with the touch screen. When I went to the service centre and enquired, I got a reply that the part changed comes with only a week's warranty and as I am coming after a month with the same problem, they will charge me again. I never heard of any original sony parts coming with only a week warranty!!!

I argued with the person-in-charge Mr. HARISHANKAR ([protected]) he rudely replied that it was me who has done something to the mobile. He did write about the one week warranty in the bill I received for the repair while I went asking for the repair again. I am not sure how to deal with this as I never heard of any spare part coming with a week's warranty.

Sony Ericsson Service — no spare parts in my warranty period

In Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, I buy a sony ericssoon w350I mobile.
after 3 months the flip door is brocken with soft use. I meet sony ericsson service centre at coimbatore. they tel now we have no stock that part, but we will give me within a week. i call every week. but no response and they say the same words in last 3 months
I buy a sony ericsson k530i i used in 45 days now my mobile disply is not working . mobile phone in and out going is working.this purticular model mobile at present disply availabe in market or not if as where i can get. pl send a reply.

In terms of service sony ericsson is a very irresponsible compani. As my prectical expirince Sony Ericsson do not bother about the problems which customer are facing. We should stop purchesing these types company products.

    hello sir,

    my self Akshay. i m doing BCA from muzaffarnagar. sir i have bought a phone which is sony ericsson k550i last year. but my from september its noy working. the phone is not getting on. i went to service center but they did nothing.. they kept my phone for 3 months.. but they did not repaied it.
    so where should i go sir.. please tell me the right way to make it working.... i will be highly thankful to you for this kind act....

    Dear sir.
    My self Lakshman soni .I am job in TATA PROJECTS LIMITED form delhi.I purchased sony ericsson model no.S312 on[protected]. but my cell may its not working. problem in my mobile keypad not working.so I went to Service center solan Sony Ericsson .they kept my phone on 28.05.10 .but they did not repaied.So I send to my brother in delhi. Delhi Service said to my brother that this phone’s complain not found in enternet. So they could not repaied .again I went to service center solan on 28.08.10 .They kept my phone but they did not repaied yet.
    So where should I go sir .. please tell me the right way to make it working ….i will

      Dear Sir,

      I bought the sony c510 cybershot handset on 4/01/10 for Rs.9460. The phone claims to be cybershot camera model but it has very very poor performance;as i had used sony k790 & k810 cybershot models. the pictures are very dark & grainy as well as yellowish & greenish in color tone.

      i contacted sony ericsson customer care witin 12 hr. of purchase, they asked me to visit sony ericsson service centre. service centre people after examining the handset said its camera quality ok. I am getting the poor camera & they are simply denying it in a blind manner. Customer care people are also shrugging off saying there is no problem with picture quality as per service centre's examination.

      i am in real trouble, i feel as if i lost my money, cheated by sony people as i had no idea of their poor camera. they claimed their camera as good quality but i m facing the cheapest kind of its performance.

      plz help me out.

        SUB: REPLACEMENT OF SONY HI-FI MUSIC SYSTEM, MODEL- GZR-7D, UNDER WARRANTY WITH NEW SYSTEM, DUE TO REPEATED MAJOR MANUFACTURING DEFECTS.

        Dear Sir/madam,
        I had purchased one Sony HIFI MHC GZR7D Music system, serial no 6103221 from M/s Manoj Audio Video, Delhi on 16/02/2009. The set is under warranty. Hardly ,from 02 months from the date of purchse, I am repetedly facing lot of problems with the set. I am thoroughly describing the problems faced almost since brginning:
        1) In the month of April, one day , while playing audio CD, suddenly set stopped playing . when i contacted Sony service center in DELHI (Ph no[protected], registration request no 3977122), they had sent a service person from M/s SONA Assocites, Faizabad. He took the set with him and informed that some crtical part called “CDM” has got defect and it was replaced.Finally I got my set back after about 10 days.
        2)further, on 11/08/2009, while set was playing an Audio CD ,suddenly it stopped and went into stand by mode. When it was tried to start after some time as, it immediately returned to standy mode. I had called service engineer from nearest service center, M/s Sona Associates, faizabad. Their service person came on 12/08/2009 and said that set needs to be taken to service center for checking. On, 13/08/2009, I personally handed over the set at their service center in faizabad. On 19/08/09. When, i again called them, they told that there is some problem in the set that we will take the set to SSC lucknow. Finally I received the set alsmost after 25 days i.e in first week of sep’09 since i handed over the set.
        3) The tale does not end here. Again the set has develpoed similar problem on 08/11/2009. When it was playing audio songs through USB (PEN DRIVE), suddenly it again went to standby mode. I have contacted directly at Sony SSC at Lucknow on same day. They had sent service person on 13/11/2009. He checked the set at my home and after checking he took the set with him to SSC lucknow for reparing.

        After, about 20 days, SSC, Lucknow, Manager Mr Pradeep, informed telephonically that the set is now O.k. and it will not have any problem. I told him that since I am repeatedly facing the similar type of times problem, as of now third time, I want a written assurance from SONY that if the set will develop any defect fourth time; it shall be replaced with new set. He, told me that he cannot give any written commitment but he committed verbally that if the set develops any problem fourth time, it is in the policy of SONY, to replace such set with new set. When I stressed on written commitment, he told me that have faith on him and he is sending the set within two days to my home.
        His representative came to my home on 04/12/09 with the set, and asked me to check it his presence.
        As soon as the power was put ON, one message “OVERCURRENT” came on digital display of set. Immediately Set power was put OFF. And again, Mr Pradeep was contacted on phone regarding above thing. Mr. Pradeep told that, we have removed the PROTECTION from the set and hence this message is coming and you can operate the SET without worry. On his assurance, when we started checking, other functions, many erroneous messages started coming on digital display of set, Like “PUSH POWER, OVERCURRENT” etc. When, USB drive was checked for its functionality, it didn’t play PEN DRIVE. Even the Service representative also tried to play his own pen drive, USB port failed to play.
        I had sent back the SET, with SONY service personnel, immediately without receiving it.
        Next day i.e on 05/12/2009, I had contacted Mr Pradeep, and told him as of now this set is Non-Repairable and this is the fourth time the SET has developed problem under warranty, Hence as per his Commitment, he should initiate for replacement of this SET with new one. He told me to give him some time to talk with higher management and assured to give his feedback in 3 or 4 days.
        Based, on his assurance, I kept on waiting without any further enquiry.
        Suddenly, on 10/10/09, he sent the Set with his Service Personnel without informing me and I declined to receive the set and retuned it back without acceptance.
        the set is lying with Sony service center, Lucknow presently.
        I want to stress that since purchase, the set remained at my home for hardly 2-3 months and rest of the time i.e as of now almost 11 months from purchase, it remained at Sony service center.

        I have written two detail letters to SONY INDIA HEAD OFFICE, NEW Delhi but no response is there.

        I AM FED UP WITH THIS SET AND STREESSING THE FOLLOWING POINTS AND REQUESTING YOUR KIND HELP TO GET ME REPLACE MY SET WITH SIMILAR NEW ONE AT THE EARLIEST.

        i) Considering my deepest agony and disgustment with the non-performance of SET and since SET is continuously having problems as of now fourth time, under warranty. It clearly indicates major manufacturing defects and SET should be replaced with new one as earlier as possible.

        Sony — No music is played when cover is closed

        I bought a Sony Laptop VGN CR 313. The laptop is designed to play music/songs even when top cover of laptop was closed. But the laptop which i own does not play the music. The dealer is not co operating. Please suggest.

          Dear Sir/mam,
          As i bought the SONY BRAVIA LCD KLV-26S550A + HOME THEATER DAV-DZ390K on 18 th october 2009 they didn't give the warranty card so i have written a letter and given to them after they delivered the product. but still now they didn't give the warranty card. when ever i ask they says its in process. now i am losing the trust against the sony service center. please give me solution.

          Sony mini home theatre system — Warranty card not received

          I am Gaurang Chavda.I had purchased SONY MINI HIFI HOME THEATRE SYSTEM on 11th Aug 2009, Cash Memo No:[protected] At MORE MEGA STORE VADODARA.Still I had not received my warranty card,because sales manager Mr.Chirayu told me that they have lost warranty card for some reason.He was commited to give my card after 2 weeks. Now no one has taken resposibility of this.I had met him so many times for this matter, he was always try to delay my matter and told that we will receive warranty card after 1 week.But the next week is still not coming. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR UNEXPECTED THINGS WILL BE HAPPEN IN FUTURE.Sony company cannot provide any types of service in this matter.I WANT MY WARRANTY CARD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE & REPLY SOON.

          I have purchased a Sony DAV DZ 790 from E-Zone pimpri by paying full amount in cash on 28th Jan, 2010. E-zone had a delivered a used system on 11th Feb., 2010 was confirmed by Sony service engineers who visited on 12th Feb., 2010. I am unable to understand why E-zone had not delivered a new system to me even after taking full amount from me and why Sony India is tolerating such dealers? Even though Sony sells such good number of home theatres in India why no body maintains good stock of home theatres?

            DEAR SONY.
            I PURCHASED A SONY SONY WALKMAN MODEL NO.NWA-W202/BM MX3 SL NO 5349707 FROM SONY CENTRE IN VISAKHAPATNAM ON 18 DEC.09. THE RIGHT EARPHONE HAS BROKEN ACCIDENTLY YESTERDAY.ON CONTACTING THE NEAREST SONY SERVICE CENTRE THEY SHOWED THEIR HELPLESSNESS AND ADVISED ME TO OPT FOR PURCHASING A NEW ONE WITH A DISCOUNT ON RETURNING THE DAMAGED ONE.

            i dint even used it for two months and the hear phones r spoilt.
            i no that hear phones dont carry any warranty but there is not a single physical damage to the hear phones.
            i blame it complete on the sony compane.

            I am Vikrant Kumar and i bought walkman w202 from Singapore (Mustafa center in Singapore) in last week of January 2010. Now its shows some technical problem which is Left side speaker is not provided sound as it gives in the starting.
            I mean to say, there is a sound (volume level) diffrence between L & R speakers and sound quality diffrence also. It is not able to produce the Bass as it produced in the initial days.
            I am in delhi and i didnt find any authorisied service center in delhi or around.
            Please give me any assistance regarding that else i'll file complain against Sony.

            I got my Sony Walkman Wireless piece last year in September - Model - SOK-NWZ-W202(B) Serial Number - 5322375. (Allahabad - UP - India)
            The volume of the player has decreased quite significantly over the past 3 months. The loud end of the volume range were pretty magnificent early but now I can still hear all that is going around at max volume. I checked the manual for the particular setting where the maximum volume can be reduced but it was already fine.
            Could you kindly assist me with this problem.

              Sir I am a 62 year lady running an electronics store in Kalimpong, on the 6th of Nov. 09, I purchased a sony music system model no MHC-GZR88D, from Madhuri commodities P.Ltd, siliguri (distributor) , which i was supposed to sell to a customer, I purchased the set by paying 100% advance to the distributor. On receiving the set I found out that the LCD panel was broken and the distributor advised me to send it back to the service centre (job no FMF22974), as they said they will not replace the set, which i willingly sent, it has been two months since I have not heard from any of them either the distributor or the service centre, upon calling it is a merry go round situation as i am given a new number every time to talk to. My money is at stake, I am a senior citizen and I cannot run after them as the service centre is some 60 kms from my place. kindly help

                Hi,

                I bought a Sony ericsson W595 on 22nd Jan 2009. Within 3 months i started experiencing problems with the keypad. Specifically the "0" was not working.I gave it to the nearest Sony service center at Borivali(W). However that turned out to be a wrong thing to do. My mobile phone was not serviced for atleast 20 days and finally when i went to collect my piece, I was given a blue coloured one(mine was grey/green). That shows the level of neglect. I reacted strongly to this. They somehow found my handset and repaired it within 20 minutes and gave it back to me.

                To my dismay however the phone doesnt look the same. It has dents at various places. The keypad is not properly placed and the circuitary inside is slightly visible. Also i can feel the dislocation of the keypad while i type. I complained back immediately but they retorted saying that if a slider phone is opened, these things bound to happen.

                My phone is not the same anymore. There are various problems happening after that. Phone suddenly gets switched off. Sometimes it cannot latch to signals.Now the space key is not working. Also when i slide open the mobile, the display is gone and is recovered only if i switch off/on again. I cant sms or type numbers. The phone is almost unusable and that too within less than a year.

                This is a clear case of defective manufacturing and a subsequent mishandling. I plan to lodge a complaint against you in Cosumer Court under Consumer Protection Act, 1986.

                  my mobile W 705 bought in may 2009 is not working.has key pad problem.i had submitted the mobile for repair but they kept my mobile for 2 weeks and still did not repair it,hence i had to take my mobile back from them and that too not repaired.my mobile is within the warranty period.

                    I am praveen from chennai i got Sony ericssion W395 mobile last month the phone is having severe problem like hanging when playing mp3 songs since its walkman series phone it has the hanging problem while playing the song. I spent nearly my month salary to buy the phone after seeing that problem i got very much depressed with that ..it seems to be no value for the money which i spent its seems to be a mental torture for me ..I would ask for the my money back..which i spent..
                    Ya, this is one of the worst phone I bought before 3 months. It also get hanged while turn off Bluetooth and shows the same message as "Waiting for answer". The phone doesn't turn off during that time. The message only disappear only when I remove the battery.

                          I bought new Sony Camera just after Diwali and used it on Christmas to realize that it shuts down each 10-15 secs without any message even on full battery. I have to start it again after each shot and I have to make sure that I shoot the picture within 10 secs of switching it on.

                          It seems quite obvious but why one has to visit only service center to submit product to get it fixed why not the authorized Sony shop from where you have bought it.
                          Well, the address I got from Sony helpline was confusing and it took sometime to get the Sony service center. As landmark was given as M. K. Retails, Indira Nagar, Bangalore and there are two M. K. Retails in Indira Nagar. Address mentions "behind M. K. Retails" but it should be "lane behind M. K. Retails". I was given 3 contacts number for service center. I kept trying all 3 numbers to get some help to find the right address but all 3 kept ringing without any response. When I finally got the place (thank god I found it open, I thought it might be holiday for them) the call attendant told me that during lunch our we don't receive any calls (yup..lunch hour which was more than one hour during which we should not disturb them while you skip your lunch to find the service center and fix your product).
                          At service center I was asked to wait. Why I was not asked to wait when I went to buy it? After some wait I got my number. Then I realize that at service center is just collection center where you are suppose to leave your product and make another visit to collect it. I stay near to Marathahalli and I need at least 3 -4 hours to make a visit to service center. Now I have left my camera to collection center (we should get familiarize with collection center mind Sony expect customers to visit only collection centers not the service center.)
                          I would be getting a call from Sony after one week till that time I have with no Camera. It means that at New year I would be without any Camera. Another or probably more than one to get it fixed. Even Sony doesn't give any assurance to fix it. So it is just your luck if you find the defect free product form Sony. Otherwise keep getting use to lunch hour rules at service center...sorry at collection centers.

                            Hello,

                            I had purchased a laptop (Sony Vaio - model no: VGN-CR353) on oct 08. and since purchase, my DVD drive has been serviced for 3 or 4 times, in which dvd drive was changed twice and the last service was nearly a 1 and a half month before, and again the DVD drive is not working. I am taking this issue very seriously because after changing drive for 2 times and servicing for 2 times, still the issue is not resolved..but why should I pay the money to buy a new one because I am pretty much sure that after 3-4 months , I am going to face the same problem as it does in the past.. I hope you sony people would take the matter seriously because I am totally unsatisfied with my SONY VAIO laptop.

                              My name is Sandeep Kumar Sharma and working in Sony India Pvt ltd at reputed post in RDC Raj Nagar Ghaziabad. On dated 24/12/2009 at evening 8.00 PM my bike Bajaj Discover Red and Black (DL-5S W 2770) with original papers has been stolen from front of my office 'Sony india pvt ltd 24 Advocate chambers RDC Raj Nagar Ghaziabad'. That area belongs to Kavi nagar Police Station Ghaziabad. Since that day (29/12/2009) i am doing regular visit at Kavi nagar Police station to launch F.I.R. for bike stolen but no one is listening and no one there is ready to write F.I.R. Every time the consern person tell "please come tommorow ".
                              My bike was insuranced, done by oriental insurace company and without F.I.R. i can't process my claim to insurance company. Also i have no record that my bike has stolen.
                              I just want that F.I.R. should be written in Kavinagar Police Station so that i have the proof of my bike has been stolen any thing could not done wrong through by my bike and i will be safe apart from this .

                              Mine is the same case with a more twist added to it. My Bike (Pulsor) was stolen from old bus station in Jan 08, ... but the I could not get my FIR done ...the bike was later cought in Meerut...now it is lying in Meerut Civil Line Police station ... i have been there several times ... but they did not give me my bike as they ask for the FIR ... which was not done (denied ). Anyone linstening? ... Hell with Police ... I have no faith in it. ...Just take care of youself and your things ... Police is just for harassment

                                  Hi I am from Mumbai India and own aSony DAV-DV270 Home Theatre which is just a year and a half old..It shows "PUSH POWER PROTECTOR" on its display..I took it to my nearest Sony Authorised Service Center i.e. Sonus Sales and Service in Santacruz Mumbai India..Initially they fooled me saying that my board has been corroded and there is no way they can get it fixed and i would need to replace the board..They earlier offered me an estimate of Rs6000 and when i started bargaining they came down to Rs4000 at the same moment..However after digging into this issue i came to know that this problem can be fixed by just replacing an IC at Sony Service center itself costing Rs1000(Including Labor)..This surely means that they wanted to pull out as much money as they can from my pocket..Hence I denied their offer and planned to get it fixed else where from a local guy and the technician there told me that they had replaced the board with a tampered one so that i shouldnt be able to repair anywhere except them..Imp Point - Before giving it to Sony i had signed on the board so that my board remains safe from the cheaters at Sony..But Sony never knew this fact and they replaced the board assuming that i would never know even if they repalce it with a tampered one..These service centers are just spoiling SONY's market. If this goes on then "GOOD BYE SONY".. we have got many better options..and i am damn sure not to buy a SONY product again..

                                    Six months back i brought this mobile (G503-Sony Ericsson).In between these period,i complainted three times in an authorised sony ericsson service Center about its poor body quality (its getting shade)and anothrer is getting resetted in between calls. But upto now they didnt provide any proper response to change its body. The company offer 1 year warrenty condition. During this period also they didnt provide correct response.pls take necessary action.

                                    I bought my Sony Ericsson G502 few months back and am facing these issues:

                                    1. The silver trimmings (i.e. Send/End Button and the Middle Button) are slowly chipped away. Now all I have is a translucent plastic without markings.

                                    2. The outer screen is slowly becoming loose on the left and right side so I now have air pocket marks on the inside which is annoying.

                                    3. Frequent Hang and restart while making /receiving call.

                                    For 1 and 2, I visited a Sony Ericsson Service center in East Delhi and I was suggested to change the outer body panel for whopping INR 2200.00, or USD45. Isn't this a cheating?

                                      This is my third email with regard to the same issue stated below and i still haven't got a clear solution to what has happened with the camera. I hope somebody is reading these emails, on the other way round too i am not getting connected to any of these telephone numbers from this morning Ph: 64569934/35/41155171. The phones are ringing but nobody to answer the same.

                                      Its been an awe full day fro me till now from morning 8.30 am . I feel all my calls and emails are falling unattended to a giant company like yours. This definitely needs to be looked into.

                                      I am really unhappy about your damaged service department here in Bangalore. I received a message on my phone at 8.31 am today and have been following it up to reach your service department just to know why the estimate has now shot up to Rs. 5397.50 whereby i was told it would cost me Rs. 500 for a lens displacement correction. I tried contacting the service centre to speak to a person by name Yogesh who is only wanting me to believe what he says without any patience to listen to what i had to say which infact got me furious. He then gives me another number for Anand who would explain the technical details where i was not able to get through. Then i got in touch with the customer care of sony at [protected]. Here i get routed to 3 different departments to finally get in touch with Prakash who again tells me somebody would give me a call back to explain the cost involved.

                                      I really do not understand why the delay when my Log information details are in the system. Why should i reach or speak to 10 different people to know the detailed cost involved for the repair of the Camera. This is the first time i am interacting with Sony and never expected your service to be so damn pathetic. I am deeply annoyed for the time spent and i hope if not a call , at least an email with clear description of the repair would be sent to me.Its 12 pm and i am still waiting to receive a call from any of your departments.

                                        I bought Sony Ericsson w705 in March 2009 for 16,200 Rs. In nine months it troubled me for 3 times, Each time I have to visit the service center and wait for many days without my phone, I spent the money to utilize the phone not to be harassed. now its under warranty so they are not charging anything but it consumes my precious time, petrol, I am harassed and I really want either to change my phone with any other phone of sony or to exchange it with any other product of sony. Please help me.
