I have purchased W350i hand set on 23.05.2009 from G.V. Puntambekar & sons Pune, Invoice no is 91385. With in six months o[censored]se in warranty itself the phone flap was broken while in use. Please note that the flap given for this phone is not additional future, its an basic component of phone which is used for receiving call.
Went to service center at Aundh Pune 'My Mobile shopee' Omkar complex near D.A.V. School Pune 45, raised the issue reading flap and some other issues related to connectivity. I was charged Rs. 550.00 for flap. I finally paid the cash and took the delivery.
But again after 15 days the flap was broken, even it is used carefully, this is ridiculous, how phone flap can break while handling twice in first six months, phone is still in warranty. One can clearly identify the manufacturing defect. Flap is suppose to be used 10-15 times a day and if it won't withstand 15 days the there is something serious.
Reported this to same sony service center, they are washing hands saying that this not covered under warranty. The concern person was Ms.Preeti Bhosale, she was not able understand the situation, just telling that you have to buy this again.
My request to sony ericsson is are we designing / making products which ends in paying money to service centers and vendors. What is use of warranty then??? accept if the phone is damaged then you should not pay, but am i doing any mistake by taking call by using flap. Major design fault in his model. Please check, giving herewith snap shots of the defect.
As of now i believe sony is famous for Quality product, this incidence has made me think again, worst part is if there is defect you are not giving replacement also not fare.
