Hi,

I have received call from executive of sterling holiday, executive name was shikha-[protected]. She told me that i won holiday voucher from sterling holiday. She was asking my all the details and i confirmed her.
I told her that please mail me the voucher details. But she called me 2-3 times and forcing me to come at kalyan jewellers noida, sector 18. I don't know it is some kind of fraud because it is a voucher then she can simply send me over mail or through courier. Please help me to get my free voucher from them and also confirm me if it is some kind of fraud.

    This is with regards to cheating from the sterling holidays resorts, who deny holiday booking for their loyal timeshare members to sell in open market. I have been trying to book a holiday at karwar resort after 23-dec-2017, however response was all rooms were already booked & no rooms available after 21-dec. However i can see the availability on all web sites & we can gurantee they keep selling till 23-dec for the same week, incl they will send emails to me saying rooms are being fast filled to buy.

    This is a clear case of cheating to deny service to timeshare members as i have been facing this challenge for 3-4 years at every peak season. Initially they used to booking opens at 90 days earlier & all were sold out on the same day. Now they are claiming booking opens at 120 days and story repeats to sell rooms at open market to deny service for timeshare members who have paid lakhs of rupees upfront.

    Regret to be the member of sterling holidays & trying to react to the cheating company, at least others should not fall for their promises even if i don't get service or compensation in this case. If they claim all rooms were reserved for members have already been booked, can they share the call records & confirmation vouchers of such bookings to public who question their service?

      cancellation of membership and refund from sterling

      Hello one & all,

      My membership id is 1232820 (Hitendra tandel). I purchased sterling membership in nov-2016 and received the kit in january 2017. The sales person mr. Gourab ghosh promised us the following:

      2n/3d welcome stay

      2 years of free rci

      1 week of international stay

      2n/3d extra from andheri office (Attached is the mail from sushrut trivedi and gourab ghosh)br...

      I have taken sterling membership 15 days back customer id 1235838. Mail id [protected]@gmail.com. While i meet the sale person they offered two domestic holidays free of 3 days two night each and some voucher of thomas cook and 2n/3d sterling complimentry. The executive said he will mail the vouchers on the mail id. I made a downpayment of 87789. After that i tried to book for holiday at yelegiri resort we mail at [protected]@sterlingholidays.com and there was no response then i spoke at their toll free number but they said they haven't received any mail from my end and he said no rooms available not only for yelegiri but also no rooms available at munnar, thekkady, ooty, yercaud. We wanted something around bangalore but the executive was in a rush he didn't gave proper response then we called up the guy whom we trusted and took this plan and he said will check and call by afternoon but no call back happened.       As we got welcome call from this lady and asked for cancellation but no revert. And suddenly we got reservation at ooty resort these guys had no room at ooty, munnar, yelegiri, yercaud, etc and all of a sudden when we said we have not received voucher and rci membership details were not provided then they send the complimentary voucher. Now we dont trust on sterling holidays and we want the refund. We have mailed for cancellation and no one is giving the response. We have mailed on [protected]@sterlingholidays.com
      And spoken to the cancellation manager he said in two days his executive will call back and since then there was no response.
      Below is what we have written in the mail. This people sell the product and they don't deliver. They have no rooms available and still they are looting people. I have not received and papers yet more over this people have taken my credit card pictures and i am really worried as i read fraud done by sterling employees misusing the card informations. Below are the communications were i am sending the mails and i am not getting any revert. I am not keen now to continue this and want my entire amount to be refunded as its hardly 15 days.
      These people should not sell this ownership if they cant provide the rooms and should give proper informations about membership, and rci fee. Belows are the mails.

      We are not getting any response from your end and while going through consumer forum we getting similar case where people are given fake promise about refunds and they are not getting response from you guys. I am afraid as sales people took my card details and i aslo read there was case of cheating too where you guys take card details or cheque and cheat. I would like to bring to your notice i was promised vouchers which i never got on my mail id and no information regarding rci membership. I request you to cancel the membership give back the amount paid and assure my card details wont be misused.

        fraud promises by sterling holidays

        It has been 10 months that i have enrolled in sterling holidays membership (Membership id – 1231142 w. E. F. 03.10.2016) and since then i have only realised that all the attractive benefits and facilities demonstrated at the initial moment were all fake assurance which were used to lure me into the trap. The start was through a phone call asserting me to provide free ‘2 nights stay’ in their resort, and an offer for sterling membership...

        I purchased a heritage unit in 1996 from sterling holiday resorts limited chennai & immediately after the allotment my husband met with an accident for which i applied for cancellation of the unit but the company turned a deaf ear to my request and did not refund the amount till date. Md mr. Ramesh ramanathan is playing fool with me and adopting unfair means. My membership no 505082.

          Sterling holidays is now being run by a very unethical and arrogant management. Members are being cheated of their rights. Wherever you want to take a vacation at their resorts you are very cleverly told that no rooms are available for the dates you have asked and that u take the dates no one else wants. How ridiculous. Even if you manage to get an accommodation in their filthy and ill kept resorts u are given the most shabby rooms. On one such visit i gound that while they claimed to be full actually half the rooms were vacant waiting greedily for people with hot cash to come along. What a shame.
          I would like the management to look into this matter at the earliest as it is hard to imagine that anyone can stoop so low to make a few fast bucks. Please remember no institution can do well unless it's members who have invested their hard earned money are happy

            On feb, 24 2017, pratik kulkarni, sales person from sterling holidays offers us trial member ship valid for 1.5 years and which can be further extended by 1.5 years having offers of 12 nights domestic free at sterling resorts in india and 1 week international free at rci and rs 7000 cash back to our bank account for payment of rs 106000, if we pay immediately and if we take it in name of my wife, for which we paid by our debit card. After our trial period of 3 years, after experiencing holidays at there resort if we are satisfied we would have option to take there 25 years membership cost of which would be rs 5, and rs 106000 we paid would be considered as down payment. We also asked him about annual subscription fee, for which he clarified that it would be only applicable if we take there 25 years membership after trial period. He asked us to give cancelled cheque and rs 100 rupees cheque as for cash back of rs 7000, this cancelled cheque and rs 100 rupees cheques was needed so that online payment can be made to our bank account of rs7000. All this offers were given orally and explained on white paper.
            Instead we received email from sterling after 2 months stating we have taken there membership of 25 years for rs 5 lac for which down payment is paid rs106000. On april 25 we received member ship kit stating we have taken membership of 25 years cost of which is rs 5 lac and downpayment is rs 106000. Balance 12 emi of rs 31534 asf of 11659, asf due feb 2017. Special offers of 2 nights venue complimentary and 2 nights terling bonus nights.
            We were shocked and asked them to offer us what was committed at time of taking payment.
            They have even approached our bank on 26.5.2017 with a mandate to debit rs 18169 monthly installment for debit in march 2018. I called pratik what is all going on, we kept on replying please book you holidays and he will do all that he as commitmed. I ask him to stop approching bank as this is not he commited.
            What pratik commited and what membership kit states was totally different.
            I called and emailed there chennai office, manavalan from chennai office asked us to give what was committed by pratik, i send all forms and papers pratik gave while explaining about membership, after which manavalan agree to giv 8 sterling bonus nights and rs 7000 cash back if we agreed to taking 25 years membership. Infact we were offered trial membership of 3 years for rs 106000 which was offered by pratik.
            We asked them to refund our rs 106000 if there did not have trial membership of 3 years which was offered to us by pratik. We have not used any of there holidays but manavalan keeps asking for valid proof of commitment. And refusing to refund rs 106000.
            How can i give the proof of oral commitments given by them? Proof may only be possible if they have recorded the presentation of the scheme given to us. I have not recorded the meeting presentation. I was agreed for membership on presentation given to us by them.
            How can i prove the oral commitment given in the meeting? We have to put faith for the presentation given by the executive. I have not recorded the presentation. You should record it like you are now recording our telecommunication.
            We have been calling pratik and there company in chennai. Chennai office says now you cannot get refund as you have taken membership. They are forcing membership on us and misleading in name of thomas cook and fairfax company.

            Since i have not used any of there holidays or facilities, i request for refund of rs 106000 for not offering what was committed at time to taking payment. I have been calling, sending email since last 4 months to refund rs 106000, for which manavalan is refusing to refund giving excuse of valid proof of commitments. Sales person of sterling are not giving any documents in writing of offers at time of taking payments.

            Please refund my rs 106000. Hope you will do needful for resolving all my above issues & continue to keep our trust in sterling holidays permanently.

              My father was the primary owner of the membership. He passed away 8 years ago. We submitted all documents required to change the membership to my mom's name immediately after he passed. But, nothing has happened till now. To add to that, they lost all of the original documents we submitted when they moved offices. One of the most horrible customer experiences that i've ever had to face.

                Sterling holidays is not refund rs106000 saying to submit valid proof of commitments given by there sales person. All phone recording have been submitted but they are in denial mode and do not want to accept that there sales person made fales commitment and taken money. We have not used any of there holidays still they do not want to refund our money by given excuse that proof is not valid. They do not record offers and commitments made by there sales person and instead increase hardship of customer by asking proof of commitment.
                In this hospitality industry they are putting customers in hardship by taking money and not refunding even customer has not used any of there services. Never trust sterling sales person.

                  My name is shibu i have taken a membership in sterling holiday june 25. Marketing executive manu from kochin came to aida hotel kottayam had a get-together. With many family. I came with my family at 2.30 pm and manu explained all the details. He has made many false information.

                  1) st the initial payment 1, 06, 000 is taken from credit card on monthly installment of rs 8833 per month for the next one year.
                  2) other than the rci holiday package there is another special package from kochi it is an international package which includes site seeing, food and accommodation for a family.

                  All these things are written in a white paper and told me many times on word of mouth and these representatives came to aida hotel with your id. And i believed what they told me.

                  When i get the welcome call from chennai i have asked about this. Then she was not aware of it and contacted him executive manu again he said it is a separate package from kochi which chennai people does't know. After some days i got call from kochi and again i have asked same question whether i have special tour package she was also not aware of it and she asked me to contact manu for that. I called him again he said she is new lady she does't know the package information so i believed him.

                  I used to make make credit card payment automatically on 4/8/2017 all my the initial payment 1, 06, 000 is taken with out installment, it is a breach of trust also i came to know from the kochin office that there is no such special package exists.

                  I have taken the package only because of his false commitment and he deceived me many times. Please revert back the the amount taken 1, 06, 000 i want to cancel my subscription.

                    Sterling is a fraud company. I have been cheated by them. They have forcefully convinced me to purchase their membership (Membership ID[protected]. They have charged Rs. 85557 to me as 1st installment for Holiday Package. I have tried to book a resort for complimentary stay on complimentary voucher but they are failed to provide me on this very first resort booking & giving different version that you have to pay Annual Charges (ASF) & bla bla than we can confirm your booking. Although at the same time these resorts are open for booking on "Make My Trip". Since this company seems fraud, i've decided to surrender their membership. When i have requested for the same they have provided me breakup of lots of charges & asking for confirmation.(Charges snap attached for your reference)
                    Why should they will deduct all the charges when failed to provide services?
                    Please help me to get complete refund & ban sterling Holidays in India for cheating innocent public & their fraud ways of making money. Merchant who are helping them and providing contact details of their customer should also be punished.

                      I had purchased 15 teak trees in september 1994 with sterling tree magnum (India) ltd, which was introduced as a branch company of sterling holiday resorts. The cost was rs.22125. Initially the scheme was for 15 years.in 2008, a company representative came and informed me that since the original scheme was not performing as per expectations the company was offering me 2 options. One was converting value of my investment into time share with sterling resorts and two continue with the teak tree scheme. I chose the latter. But that was the end of it. There has been complete silence on behalf of the company, sterling resorts or sterling tree magnum ltd.

                      So many time I got call from strolling holiday for free couple pass me & my friend newly married couple plan to going ooty but after seeing review about strealing holiday we drop our plan we stay another place but free stay voucher then they charged really this type can do fraud company only 25years my foot.

                        This refers to the membership taken by me for sterling holidays under customer id 1229340. We were informed that we will be charged an amount of rs. 95, 387/- per annum.

                        However, subsequently, the amount was unilaterally increased to 1, 58, 000/- p. A. Even after informing various times that we want to cancel the subscription, my account was unilaterally charged for rs. 28, 347. We were not even given a prior notice of the exorbitant amounts charged towards membership.

                        I feel oppressed and helpless. I am once again requesting you to cancel my membership and refund the amount paid by me till date.

                          Hello,

                          I am member of sterling from 2016 and still paying emis. I have already paid 20 emis and still 28 are remaining but not avail any accommodation yet.

                          Initially, sterling executives told that i can avail accomodation on any day but later i came to know that there is restriction and i can avail accomodation only for selected days or months because i have opted lower package of rs 2, 50, 000. I am paying lacs of rs and now i have to make vacation plan based of sterling resort availability. Seriously too much.

                          There was no clear description about policies when they asked to join.
                          Sales executive officer of sterling who brie[censored]s about the plan never picked up my calls

                          Eventually, we have spent so much money for the false commitments they made but not got at all useful benefits and not taking it anymore.

                          For any booking, we have to followup so much as our plan is of lower cost as compare to other plan. We are pissed off.

                          Also, due to gst we have got text from your company that we have to pay extra amount due to gst + late charge as well.
                          Why we will pay? In future also, we have to paying every year maintenance of 7000 rs if we have to avail room facility which was never told to us.

                          I haven't availed any full memebership accomodation except free offers whcih they used to trapped us.

                          Please close my account without any further assistance and return my 20 emis amount and initial installments of 24000rs which got deducted from my bank account.

                          Please refund my money otherwise i know to get back money.

                          Will raise a complain on other higher authorities as well.

                            We were called at PC jwellers Jodhpur, Rajasthan for sterling holidays membership plan.
                            Mr Rahul kumar and Sachin Pathak told us the plan. We issued cheque favouring sterling holidays limited of 72725.00 and 40000.00 through debit card on 29 June 2017 .
                            But at the time of confirmation call from Chennai the plan was different. Many things were kept hidden from us.so we immediately ask to cancel this plan .we send a cancellation email at the address told by sterling representative today.please look into the matter and provide

                              I am been calling from past 4 days to speak about AMC, they have over charged AMC. 16500/- Money scam people after taking membership they want us also to pay AMC almost more then a room rate. This people has to be punished for eating out hard earn money. Why court people are not closing this cheating company. Relationship manager is utter waste . He will never ever respond to our call . After eating money they do not want our call to be attended. I want answer for all this useless scam happening. I need justification for AMC payment .

                                I had registered with sterling holidays 1 year back
                                I have been cheated upon by your agents, they had told me to pay 6000₹ plus emi for about 1 year and then to continue with the membership if I liked the overall experience with sterling. Then the same EMIs will continue for another 2 years.
                                From past one year I could not utilise the holidays.
                                Now i have been automatically charged 16300 ₹ in the name of sterling holidays emi for another year
                                This is non refundable acc to the customer care centre.
                                Why such false promises by your agents?
                                And if i go in for cancellation, i have been told the entire money is wasted, wont be refunded, neither can i avail the holidays which were offered.

                                If there is any other way out like freezing the membership for some time period and then continuing with the EMIs or
                                Continuing with the same amount of EMI's for next 2 years till the fee is paid off
                                Please let me know
                                In case there are no solutions possible, please proceed with cancellation of the membership as I won't be able to pay such a huge amount in EMIs

                                  Pratik Kulkarni, sales person from Sterling Holidays offers us trial member ship valid for 1.5 years and which can be further extended by 1.5 years having offers of 12 nights domestic free at sterling resorts in India and 1 week international free at RCI and Rs 7000 cash back .Instead we received email from sterling after 2 months stating we have taken there membership of 25 years for Rs 5 lac for which down payment is paid Rs106000.
                                  We were shocked and asked them to offer us what was committed at time of taking payment.
                                  They have even approached our bank to payment of installment for next year.
                                  We have been calling Pratik and there company in chennai . Chennai office says now you cannot get refund as you have taken membership. They are forcing membership on us and misleading. In name of Thomas Cook and Fairfax company they are cheating people. Please be aware.

                                    I am a tanishq customer. The sterlings through tanishq have started an offer of providing free gift hampers in their holiday resorts for the good customers of tanishq. I repeatedly received a call from sterling through phone number [protected] and [protected] to receive my gift hamper which will be valid for 6 months. With great difficulty by resheduling my prior appointments i managed to reach the tanishq store with my wife. There i was blatantly told that the offer will be valid from 1st july till 19th september and not for 6 months. The offer presented to me is during peak monsoon season when tourism is at its low and very dangerous. They went on and on glorifying sterling resorts and there services. The misrepresentation of sterling should be highlighted and condemned.
