I work for a company where couriers are frequent. This was my experience when my friend couriered me a document from Pune to Navi Mumbai.
He couriered the document on a Tuesday afternoon and they told him that it would be delivered on the following Thursday morning.
Thursday came and went. On Friday, I called them in the morning and lodged an official compaint with DTDC Head Office, Mumbai as the courier was extremely urgent. They promised me that I would get it by that evening.
I waited till the evening and called the customer care twice more. They responded okay, but it was obvious that no one had any idea of where the courier was. Their internet search engine said it was at Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
I called the Vashi office on both their numbers at least 20 times in the day. No one ever picked up. So I called the customer care, and the person called up the Vashi office, and this time someone did pick up. He said very coolly that it would only be delivered on Saturday. I told him that Saturday was closed at my office, and he actually said very rudely that I must work in some low class office where Saturdays were not half days.
So, I went on Saturday morning myself to the Vashi office. They were very surprised, and I asked them to just hand over the courier. After searching for one hour, the person told me that it had been misplaced. This made me so angry that I told them I was lodging a complaint with the Consumer Court and another with the Vashi Police Station. This made him panic and he told me to wait a few hours while he searched. So I went home.
In the evening, he called me up and told me that the document had been found. I did not trust these any more, so I told him to deliver it on Monday morning.
Monday morning came and went. In the afternoon, I called the person on his personal number again. He very coolly says that it was my fault that I did not receive it, because he was waiting for me to come and pick it up!
This time my Pune friend got into the action and lodged a complaint in the Pune station. This worked, because now the guy himself came rushing into our office and gave it to me. He did not even apologize, but had an expression as if I had tortured him.
What a bad company, and what terrible service. I will definitely never do business again with DTDC.

I HAD A COURIER SENT FROM PUNE TO BANGALORE SARJAPUR ROAD BANGALORE CONSIGNMENT NOP10061092.
SARJAPUR ROAD KAIKONDRAHALLI HAVE THIS GUNDA DTDC FRANCHISE.
THIS OFFICE HAVE BANGALORE PIN NO-560035 AND MY ADDRESS IS ALSO WITH BANGALORE PIN NO-560035 ABOUT 4KM FROM THIS BRANCH BUT “GUNDA PEOPLE SAY THIS DOESN’T COME UNDER DELIVERY AREA.
AS I KNEW THIS CONSIGNMENT WAS SUPPOSE TO COME I CHECKED AND FOUND THAT IT WAS RETURNED TO MADIWALA BRANCH DUE TO
NO SERVICE. I CALLED AND TOLD MADIWALA BRANCH I NEED CONSIGNMENT THEY PROMISED BY EVENING THEY WILL DO DELIVERY.
AS THERE WAS NO RESPONSE I CALLED AGAIN AND THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS SENT TO CHAMARAJ PET BANGALORE HEAD OFFICE.
THEY GAVE ME ONE NUMBER AND THE LADY PROMISED ME THAT THEY WILL FIND IT AND MAKE ARRANGEMENT FOR DELIVERY.
NEXT DAY AGAIN I CALLED ANOTHER LADY CAME IN PICTURE AND GAVE ANOTHER NUMBER AND ASKED TO CONTACT ONE LADY IN THAT NUMBER.
WHEN I CALLED THIS NUMBER SHE IS ON LEAVE AND MAN IN PICTURE
TOLD ME THAT CONSIGNEMNT GONE TO PUNE.
WITHIN THESE TWO DAYS THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN SO CALLED DTDC PEOPLE THAT IS WHY IT SENT BACK TO PUNE. DTDC
INFORMED THAT THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER ON THE ENVELOPE.
I CALLED THE SENDER AND ASKED THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE THREE NUMBERS ON THE ENVELOPE.WHEN I ENQUIRED PEOPLE FROM DTDC ADMITTED THAT EVEN IF AREA IS NOT UNDER SERVICE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO INFORM CUSTOMER AND ASK THEM TO COLLECT IT.
BUT HERE 3 BRANCHES AND HEAD OFFICE NOT DONE SIMPLE CALL.
FINALLY SENDER AGAIN RESENT CONSIGNMENT TO ME AND IT CAME TO SARJAPUR ROAD ‘GUNDA’ DTDC PEOPLE. THEY DIDN’T DO ANY THING ABOUT IT AND WAS PLANNING AGAIN TO SENT BACK EVENTHOUGH IN CAPITAL LETTER IT IS WRITTEN TO INFORM CUSTOMER AND URGENT.
WHEN I CALLED THIS PEOPLE THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED INFORM THIS. BANGALORE HEAD OFFICE SHOULD DO THAT BUT HO OFFICE SAY THAT THIS FRANCHISE SHOULD DO IT.
WHEN I WENT TO COLLECT THIS DOCUMENT, THE BUFFOON SITTING THERE ADAMANT IN SAYING THAT HE WILL NOT CALL AND DO WHAT YOU WANT, YOU GO AND COLLECT FROM DTDC HO. BUT I TOLD HIM
THAT I WILL TAKE DOCUMENT, BY THE TIME ONE OF THE GUY PUSHED
ME SAYING THEY WON’T GIVE DOCUMENT. AS I WAS GOOD IN PHYSIQUE HE COULDN’T DO MUCH.
. BY THE TIME SO MANY CAME IN PICTURE AND HE WAS FORCED TO GIVE DOCUMENT.
