On 10th July 2015, I booked 3 rooms at Koh Samui, Thailand in a Hotel Punnpreeda Pool Villa Beachfront Samui Hotel for 2 nights starting 1st August 2015 to 3rd August 2015, via MAKEMYTRIP Booking ID: NH[protected] for which I had made online payment.
As a request, I sent an email to the hotel for early check in, but was surprise to know that our rooms were booked for a different inferior hotel. This was a budget hotel of the same group name Replay Residence and Pool Villa. I sent mails for clarification, spoke to their customer care executive Ms. Birva Patel and her Senior Mr. Abhijeet Shukla number of times, where they kept assuring me that the hotel booked by me was the same and I don't need to worry.
Since this was a Group vacation with our friends, I wanted no issues. I confirmed the same with the hotel and their General Manager Ms. Salinee confirmed that there was some error and that the booking was not done for Hotel Punnpreeda and if we still wanted the same hotel, we would be required to pay additional Rs. 30, 000/ night.
I forwarded all the mails to Make my trip and on the last day before we were to fly, Mr. Abhijeet came up with a new story that the Hotel has changed their name from Hotel Punnpreeda to Hotel Replay Residence, after we had booked. We knew that this was a LIE as we could still see the two different hotels for booking at their website. But Mr. Abhijeet assured that if we were able to get proof of these being two different properties, they would compensate my entire trip. ( Air tickets were also booked on makemytrip.com)
When we reached the Hotel we found that there were two different properties opposite each other across the road and the General Manager also confirmed that we were cheated by Makemytrip as they charged us for Hotel Punnpreeda and booked us for Hotel Replay Residence. We got the same in writing from Ms. Salinee (General Manager), which was mailed to Ms. Birva.
After a horrible stay and accepting all the assurances from Makemytrip, the portal has washed their hands off and still claiming that the hotel has changed their name.
We would like to lodge a complaint and take all legal actions against the Portal, so that they improve their services or shutdown their FRAUD web portal.
