Updated by MK. On July 8 I purchased this ticket with booking reference Id NF[protected] on MakeMyTrip.com.
Everything was going smooth until I used the Auto list of regular Travelers attached to my account on this website. I selected three names myself Manish Khattar, Rashi, and Maurya Khattar.
I booked the ticket and after the confirmation I realized that it has taken my name twice. It looked like this.
1. Manish Khatar - myself
2. Maurya Khattar - my son
3. Manish Khattar - again my name.
Although this immaturity was mildly amusing but I thought to get this corrected by myself and called Customer Care.
I immediately called MakeMyTrip and they advised me that they will check with Technical team and if the issue is with website they will refund the entire amount.
After that uncountable number of attempts was made to get some response but I was always turned down with some or the other excuse. I kept following this for two months and none of the email or phone conversation was humble or courteous. I never got a responsible answer and was always told that this is not website but my mistake.
I always argued that how having same name twice on a single booking could be customer fault. It should be handled at website level but no one from Support understood this simple logic that you should accept and upgrade this basic check on website.
To add to further frustration their complaint process never allowed me to escalate this issue to Management. My complaint always remained at 1st Escalation and was always marked resolved.
This was not over when I thought to follow the process and cancelled my ticket and just got Rs. 229 out of Rs. 3000 with again no responsible answer.
Here is the refund email says:
Booking ID: NF[protected]
Airline Penalty: INR 1920
MakeMyTrip Service Fee: INR 250
Convenience Fee (Non-Refundable): INR 600
Refund Amount: INR 229
This is absolute harassment and high-handedness of this website. They are here to steal consumer’s money and certainly doesn’t care about them.
This behavior makes me believe that they think they are above everyone and no can stand against their willfulness.
I would like to raise this to the highest level of escalation.
We were looking into your concern but have found that a few important details are missing.
Please provide us with the following details:
- Booking ID or
- Email address used at the time of booking
