AFTER EXPIRY OF AMC, I APPROACHED FOR RENEWAL OF AMC, BUT THE COMPANY REFUSED TO DO SO. AFTER SOME TIME ON[protected] I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE MACHINE, ENGINEER CAME, INSPECTED AND TOLD ABOUT AN EXPENDITURE OF ABOUT RS.1000. I REFUSED AND THOUGHT TO BUY A NEW MACHINE BUT THE ENGINEER HAD SOME MALAFIED INTENTION IN HIS MIND TOLD ME THAT INSTEAD OF BUYING NEW MACHINE HE SUGGESTED TO OVERHAUL THE SAME MACHINE AT THE COST OF RS.3350. HE TOLD ME THAT SUBJECT WASHING MACHINE AFTER REPAIR WILL BE AS EQUAL TO NEW MACHINE. AFTER GETTING SATISFIED I GAVE HIM RS.2000 AS ADVANCE. AFTER THREE DAYS THAT THEY WILL CHARGE SOME MORE AMOUNT OF RS.650.00 AS CAPACITOR IS ALSO NOT OK, BUT I TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS ALL INCLUED IN THE SAID AMOUNT OF RS.3350.00, AFTER THREE DAYS I RECEIVED A CALL FROM M/S GEMINI HOME APPLIANCES & SERVICES THE AUTHORISED SERVICE PROVIDER OF WHIRLPOOL THAT THE MACHINE IS READY BUT WILL ONLY BE DELIVERED WHEN THE BALANCE AMOUNT OF RS.1350 IS PAID IN ADVANCE, I AND MY FAMILY MEMBERS WERE NOT IN HOUSE AND THE MAN CAME FROM THE COMPANY TOLD THAT HE CAN NOT COME AGAIN HENCE IF I WANT MY MACHINE BACK I HAD TO MAKE PAYMENT FIRST TO THEIR OFFICE SO I REQUESTED MY NEIGHBOUR TO MAKE PAYMENT. THEY DELIVERED THE MACHINE NEXT DAY BUT SOME OF THE EXTERNAL PARTS WERE NOT THERE, I TELEPHONED THEM SO MANY TIMES BUT THEY DID NOT REVERT AND MACHINE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. BOTH THE COMPANY "WHIRLPOOL" AND THE SERVICE PROVIDER "GEMINI HOME APPLIANCES & SERVICES, ARE NOT TAKING ANY INTEREST IN MY MACHINE AND THEY HAVE CHEATEDLY TAKEN RS.3350.00 FROM ME. After 1 year (exactly), some of the buttons stopped working and in less than 3 days the main start button stopped working. My microwave has a touchpad button setup.
I called the service people and people from Sairam Refrigeration turned up, informed that it is just loose contact, keep giving the microwave some tender love when it stops working - read it as try to keep pressing the buttons - and at some point it will start working.
I continued like that for about 2 months and again more buttons stopped responding.
Again I gave complaint, was visited twice (or thrice- i lost count) by the same service people, they said the touchpad needs to be replaced, but they DONT HAVE SPARE.
So here I am eagerly waiting for my microwave to come live again. It has been nearly 2 months since I complained and stil the problem is not solved.
What should I do now?

I am from Trivandrum Kerala I brought Wirlpool Magicook 25C. I too have the same experience from the service person . He didn't even know how to open my microwave (magicook 25C!!!). It is having problem with the rotary switch. He told me the the rotary switch is not available and I have to change the the whole circuitry, that costs ~2500 INR. I hope Wirlpool will try to improve their customer service in the near future by providing properly trained service technicians and the original spare parts.

dear concern,it is requested to you that please arrange my order no.[protected] microwave solo 20 ltr. on urgent basis. i have order on 12/12/2010. i am not expecting this kind of service from u. i am taking a lesson from u that in future i will not purchase any product from home shop 18. i am litrely harass from ur service.
please send the product by this saturday or sunday otherwise i must go in consumer court for this hrassment which have given by u.
due to this i have a loss business of 2 lakh. rupees.... basically i am from insurance back ground. and i was comitted to one of my client to gave a microwave against the policy. and now the situation is customer wants to cancel the policy........
again request to u please do the needful

I am not sure if it would help but you can give it a try. I had the issue of START button not working (works randomly) on my oven. I opened the outer cover and then disconnected the necessary wires and separated the control chamber. Then undid some screws to get the main board out from the case and I was surprised to see approx 10 small sized cockroaches inside it. Then cleaned the case and put everything back again. Once done I turned on the oven and it came back alive. So it was just a matter of cleaning the unint.
Note: I had called up customer care a couple of months before I did it for the same complaint and the guy told me that there is a problem with the mother board and it has to be replaced. He estimated that it would cost 3000 rupees.
