MMS services were activated on my mobile number without my consent, and I was charged Rs. 99 as a monthly rental. I did not notice the charges until Dec'11 when I randomly checked my bill. So I went back and checked my previous bills and was shocked to find out that I was charged Rs. 99 from April 2010 onwards. I called up their customer care in Dec'11 and asked them to discontinue the MMS service, but they did not do anything about it. So I wrote a mail to the Nodal Officer in Mumbai on 1st March 2012, and explained them what was the problem and asked for reversal of charges. I just received an automated acknowledgement mail..Finally I wrote a mail to Appellate Mumbai on 28th March 2012 and brought this to their notice. I got a call from them within 3 days of my complaint, but they just agreed to refund me Rs. 299 out of the total amount.
Also inspite of writing them about the MMS services wrongly activated on my number, they again charged me Rs. 79.84 in my Apr 2012 bill.
I wrote one more mail to them and threatened them to bring the matter to the notice of their Company CEO , Mr. Mittal, CFO, Mr. Kapoor and to the Consumer Forum. I again got a call from them, but they were just not ready to pay any heed to my threat. They even openly challenged me that I can go to any forum or even write to their Top Management but still will not refund my balance amount. The question is not about the amount but the rationale behind charging amounts on an adhoc basis, which I am aware AIRTEL is famous for.
Total amount wrongly charged till date : Rs. 2230 + Rs. 79 = Rs. 2309
Total Refund received till date : Rs. 299.00
Balance Not Yet Refunded : Rs. 2010
Before approaching you , I tried to get my problem resolved through various other channels, but no luck.
Hope to get justice and my money back.

AirTel — Bharti Airtel Cheated me...
Sir,my name is sunil, i was having postpaid connection of airtel bearring mobile number:[protected]. this is corparate card by which i can access unlimited internet by 199 rental.
on 17-feb i called in customer care to activate this plan and by mistake he activated 99 rental plan where 2gb is free. i called in airtel customer care again for this plan but they told they dont know about this plan i told him that all my office friends are using then he replied that he had no idea of that.then i though it is 2 gb is also more than enough for me but i proved my self wrong my bill came on 4th of march is 33000 and after reducing that 2 gb free access they charged me 16980 rupees.my bill period is 17 feb to 3 march.only 14 days how one can use that much of internet that to with 2g speed.
1)when my credit limit is 1200, then why dont they given me any intimation that my usage is exceeding my credit limit.
2)Sir there is no transpereancy in postpaid their intention is to cheat by some how because as we can check our daily internet usage by simply calling on *123*6# in prepaid, why dont in postpaid.customer must have rights to know atleast how much he has used.
3)Sir when company has given me only 2 gb access then after complition of that they shoud send some intimation or msg that my free usage has over after that i will be charged so and so.....
4)After all this airtel recovery boy came to my home when i was not in home harassed my family member asked my brother for to give atleast one security check which he will not going to deposit as it is just for security
and he himself in order to take my brother in confidence, he himself asked my brother to give cheque having closed account or having no funds as he is not going to deposit it,and then my brother had given cheque having no fund,when i come to home i called recovery boy that dont deposit that cheque and returned me then again he said no that cheque has no meaning it just as security which he will never going to deposit.(I have recorded this communication on my mobile as evidence).after few days i recevied one notice of sec.138 due to insufficient fund by thier advocate sir, what should i do now i dont know that much about law and i dont have that much amount to pay that too i dint use that much internet i asked almost 100 persons whoever using internet they saying it logically impossible to use more that 2 gb in 13 to 15 days with 2g speed. They should atlest inform me that my usage has exceeded over 2gb or they should abort my service after I have exceeded.Sir I have no intention and have no meaning to use cheap thing in huge cost…..
