After a long tiring run around and inconvenience, I sit down frustrated to put down my complaint. Myself Mr. Subash Malakar, resident of Kolkata, on Wednesday the 25/feb/2009 in the evening I went to one of the MOBILE STORE here in Kolkata. I bought two same sets of mobile [Sony Ericsson – W595] one for myself, and the other I wanted to gift it to one of my friend. At the store I did checked one set which was for myself it was perfectly fine, the other set I wanted to gift it to my friend so I did not open the pack at the store.

On the Friday 27/feb/2009 I wrapped the other set and gifted to my friend. The set was working perfectly fine no issues with the functioning. But when I was looking at both the sets together I realized that there was a slight error on the other set, which I gifted to my friend, the problem was that there was a slight bigger gap between the two slides. I immediately went to the store to get it replaced. At the store, they referred me to the Nearest Sony Ericsson Service Center. On Sunday the Sony Ericsson Service Center was closed. On 02/March/2009 Monday morning at the earliest hour I went to TEKNOPLAZA, Sony Ericsson Service Center at Garia Station, Kolkata, to my surprise they could not fix the problem, which I never anticipated from them as Sony Ericsson being such an acknowledged company. After making me wait for 4hours at Sony Ericsson Service Center at Garia Station, they finally referred me to the Sony Ericsson Service Center at Ripon Street, Kolkata which they told me was their Head Office. Over there they tried couple of times to fix the error AND “GUESS WHAT” they could not fix it either which was really very very frustrating and annoying I did not expect these from Sony Ericsson, these two service center wasted my whole day where I had to cancel all my scheduled meeting causing me big time inconvenience. I always counted on Sony Ericsson my previous mobile was also your make there wasn’t any hindrance.

Now that they have worked several times to fix my error and still they could not fix it I am not going to compromise with the repair since it’s a brand new set. I really need the complete set replaced as soon as possible. I really don’t want to go to the Service Center any more and waste my time. I want Sony Ericsson to get the set replaced, without further inconvenience after all it’s a brand new set. I am wondering how come the Sony Ericsson being a trusted company they don’t verify the set before they pack, it really cause a negative impact to the customer that is a smart way to deceive the customer, never expected this from Sony Ericsson.

I am really very aggravated and it was very embarrassing for me to have gifted the defective set as gift to my friend. I was not very contained with the kind of service I was provided at both the Service Center. The Sony Ericsson Service Center at Ripon Street one of your employee Mr. Indrajeet he could not understand my feelings I am going through he wasn’t courteous he was convincing me to compromise with the repairing they have done it for me, which I was not at all contained with, since it is a brand new set he can not force me to buy and be contained with whatever comes. I cannot accept as true for myself to have been provided this kind of service by Sony Ericsson. Where do I get the resolution no one is there to help, I would rate Sony Ericsson’s customer service the lowest never expected this.



Had the mobile be in use for long time then I would have compromised with the repair under warranty but mine it’s a brand new set. I have all the accessories still sealed except for the handset, however it is not in use.

I am really very aggravated with the situation and the kind of co-operation provided. On 16/March/2009 I was told by one of the so-called regional Manager of Sony Erission Mr. Sujoy Roy, that I will be provided with the brand new replacement set the complete box, but unfortunately to my surprise they were giving me the very old set in different colour and was stating that it was a new set which was very frustrating are you all trying to fool me? And believe it or not the so-called regional manager he was very aggressive and was forcing me to be contained with the same he very much offended me I want to see some action to be taken against it.

Finally I have submitted the complete set of box, it’s a brand new set all the accessories are still sealed. And I want you all to give me the complete new set of box sealed with the fresh warranty period as I haven’t used that set if not I will not accept it no matter what it takes.

I therefore would earnestly request you all to please kindly look into the matter seriously and get me the way out to get the situation resolved at the earliest. please guide me further.

I have purchased a sony xperia X10 mini from your Jaipur dealer (S S Phones, M I Raod, Jaipur)

Due to handset operation problem, I was checked my phone at Your Jaipur Service centre,
Add – Jaipur R T Outsourcing, Ist Floor, Riteeka Tower, Jaipur.
Work order ref no. – SE[protected]

Your service centre deposited my phone for repairing purpose on Mar 9, 2011 2:51PM.

But till date I have not received back my handset.

I have personally visited your service centre three times, but always same answer “boss we are not having part, you will wait sometime”
Today, I also called at your helpline no. that person also told minimum 7 days required, because part are not available in India for my handset.

It’s a surprising situation for me, a best mobile co not repaired my handset in a Month?
Either my mistake in choose the Sony Er or your after sale service is not part of your business.

Can anyone help me?

I am mobileless man because of only and only Sony……..

Please help help help and help……..

    The paint on the back side of the body has worn off

    The Phone looks old and worn off, as the paint on the back side has worn off, within 3 months of a very careful use. It is very disturbing, as it has been a very very expensive purchase and seems to be an utter waste of hard earned money.
    I feel cheated as I had banked on the Brand name "Sony" while spending forty two thousand rupees on a phone.
    Please acknowledge the receipt of this email and do let me know whether...

    there is no expert technician in sony service center, guwahati. according to me this is not a service center but it should be replace center. If any minor damage is happened in any accessories like camera, music system, laptop then they asked to replace the thing instead of repair and demand a huge sum of money. This is very ridiculus actually. i am one of their victim . once there is some minor damage took place in my laptop motherboard. i took to that service center. the expert immediately told me that mother board should be replaced and a sum of 20000 / is necessary. is this a joke? the warranty is almost expired, hardly three months. then i went to another technician and he immediately repaired. now it is working fine. my request to sony authority is---please employ some experts in service center.

      Year 2003 -
      Indian economy on the rise - Sony Global is phasing out Obsolete Designs example Model CCD-TRV318 Hi-8 Analog Camcorder (Enclosed picture) into more modern stylish products.

      The oversmart Management decides to ship the garbage to India. and decides to Pump in heavy advertising campaigns to smitten the consumers. But wait Bigbosses at sony in an effort to keep the premium image keeps the price at Starting from INR30000.

      With neofinancial surplus India fellas immediately fall for the bait- within no time the global garbage is eaten up by vegetarian Indians. And bang - sony launches the new series, instantly making the just sold one, archaic.

      Year 2007 -
      Sony India Launches DSC 'W' series - technologically superior cams - from their outlets. One particular model DSCW90 - priced at INR 20000 available at Sony world. (Without Cover or memory card). Now the problem is that the same camera is available at other outlets like Indiatimes @ INR 13000 - See the trick of the trade - You blowup your prices keeping a premium image at your showrooms and keep supplying to the parellel market. So that the sales keep happening either ways. The product sold at Showroom will get benefitted with free service for a couple of years and the same products from other channels dont. ( of course the bills of sony services are the highest equivalent categories.
      Ultimately their products have to go bust and you end up paying either ways.

      Sony feels Indian Consumer gets attracted to brand name - take advantage feed him all the crap under the brand but at a premium.

      Oh yes - look the prices of DSCW90 kept tumbling from Rs 19990 to Rs 16990 and then to Rs 14990 at Sony world, within the first year of launch.
      and within 2nd year there are better models available at much lower prices at Sonyworld.

      That means they artificially hype the prices at their Outlets.
      I bought a sony hi fi music system in the month of November 2008. After exactly a year, the system DVD stops functioning. When i tried to log a complain, the ph # provided to me were in correct. Even i send a mail to Sony India but there also no response. It is really pathetic that a company like Sony is showing this kind of disregard to customers. I feel like one who has been cheated and then humiliated. I just want to brought it the notice of general public and sony officials (If they really bother to go thru this) that this kind of practice will not lead them to a leadership position. Making jazzy punchlines and mottos are irrelevant unless you really develop the culture to taking care to your customers. [protected]
      1. Same bad experience for me also, I bought a Home theatre for 30000 and after 6 months it is not working. After going around to customer care for 2 months they said it would cost around 27000 to repair the HT. Can u believe this? It’s seriously my big mistake to purchase Sony product. I’m always frustrated because of Sony HT. No thanks to Sony.

        I HAVE PURCHASED A SONY ERICSSON CELL PHONE (K550i) THROUGH FUTURE BAZAAR IN ONLINE SHOPPING. BUT I FOUND THAT THE PICTURE QUALITY OF CAMERA (2 MEGA PIXEL) IS NOT GOOD. THE PICTURE QUALITY IS SO POOR THAT IT IS UNABLE TO RECOGNISE THE OBJECT. ITS QUALITY IS SO POOR IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER PHONES OF SAME MODEL. I FOUND SOME RED SPOTS IN THE PICTURE. I AM ATTACHING PICTURE WITH THIS COMPLAINT. BUT I AM MENTIONING THE SAME THING THAT THIS MOBILE CAMERA HAS POOR QUALITY PICTURE IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER PHONES OF SAME MODEL.

          Hi,

          My brand new Sony Ericcsson W910i red colored phone got stolen on the 26th of Feb, 2009 in Mumbai. I was using an Airtel connection. the person who stolen it had not removed the SIM till the 28th of Feb and he was receiving my calls on the 26th and 27th in the evening after 6.00 pm.

                We have purchased a system made of Sony – Model No. MHC-GN999DS on 1st june 2007 through Sony show room, Bistupur, Jamshedpur. It worked well for 2 years and now there's a malfunction in the system due to the cassette player. Since for last 1 month the problem is given to sony service centre, Alfa Services 57 New Baradwari Road Sakchi 831001 Phone :[protected], Jamshedpur, they are unable to trace the problem. After making several follow-up, the service engineer now says that he has to wait for a system that ensures all parts are same as MHC-GN999DS and then only he can trace the problem to which he will later find a solution. They have not committed any time limit. Hence I request you for necessary actions. Hope for an early reply.

                  i purchased a W850i on 3rd April 2008. The mobile has suddenly gone blank yesterday and when we approached the service center, they say that the 1 year warranty has expired!! In what way is the 1 year warranty period calculated? As a lay man, we understand one year as 365 days and that leaves me with nearly 25 days of warranty still left...

                  I purchased a W580i on[protected], The cell has been caused by erom effect, i have also tried to solve this problem with se tools & far but no results, so i brought it to service center but they are telling that is caused by Water absorption like, but i have confidence i didn't put my cell in water, & it caused by dead erom only, he is telling that its not coming under warranty, we will solve it privately & warranty also will be void like this, please help me, i am sony ericsson fan i have 6 cell phones but it only caused like this please i hope that you will co-operate with us, but i am sure that my cell caused by dead erom only, please do needful,

                    There was some problem in my hpm - 70 earphone.As they were with in guaranteed period, so i had submitted them to sony ericsson service center, kamla nagar new delhi ph- [protected] for replacement.
                    they asked me contact after i month. Now 6 weeks have been past and still they are saying me to call after 10 days. I cant believe such casual behavior from a reputed company like Sony Ericsson. Now I want a quick action from your side to please replaced my ear phone as early as possible.

                      i am from the coountry Philippines, about 6 months ago the no.5 of my key pad does not function. i brought it to a sony ericsson care center in Shoe Mart (SM) Cebu for check up, they told me that a little amount of water/moisture has penetrated the no.5 of the key pad... they tried to clean it but it only got worse. 3 more keys did not function. they told me the only way to fix it was to buy the set of key pad/key board... so i agreed to order the said part... i keep on calling the said sony ericsson care center but its past 6 months and still the part did not arrive... i even tried SM megamall, but still no parts arrive. i only used my sony ericsson w960i mobile phone for almost 4 months... is there any way how to get the damaged part as early as possible? please reply... thank you so much in advance...

                      it's the basic problem with the w960 touchscreen.
                      i had the same problem and a lock button or the * button,
                      to repair the touchscreen problem is easy, just open the case carefully with your nail or a sharp screw drive gently and remember to look at the tiny screw on the side of the camera cover with a seal.
                      then simply detach the socket both keyboard and screen. and to fix it, just connect the socket again and put your phone back together. very simple.

                      but the case for my keypad * or lock button, i still figires out how to fix it. maybe it's the ribbon cable, the socket or the button was dirty or broken.
                      if you had any way to fix it, just tell me please...

                        Hello, I have sony ericsson K530I mobile phone
                        It has some problem with its earphone thats why I submitted it to nearer
                        authorised service center at pune, Maharashtra, India on 21/01/2009
                        It is under WARRENTY period
                        But I didn't get any repply from them about handset till today after a month also, service is so late.

                        This is Manoharan from pondicherry .I brought Sony ericsson mobile from Dubai on Jan09.Model W880i walkman set S/N CB510KT7AT seller told me sony will give international warranty and service support, after few month Mick not working properly opponent unable to here my voice properly to avoid this problem I forced to use headphone always. recently we found your authorized service person in pondicherry and they told me this model phone not introduced in India that is why spares cant able to arrange. I don’t know what I can do. We prefer Sony because of Your Quality and service support even price is more. You people proved my selection of Sony ericcion wrong. Now a day China / Korea mobile have more facility with less price and spares can get very easy and less price.

                        My friends all are forced me to buy china mobile but brought Sony ericcion because of your brand Name pl. revamp Sony image

                        You people behave like this one day faith on SONYERICCEN may lose.

                          Hi,
                          There was only small Joystick problem with my mobile hence I showed this to service centr in warranty period. They tried to fix it for 2 months .Unfortunately they couldn't fix it plus they damaged my camera shutter and camra button.and joystick is choked now.I complained several times to sony eicsson call centre and though mails against those service centre.Sony ericsson didn't take any action.Unfortunately I was tired and stopped logging complaints as I knew there were no use.
                          But few days back I received a mail from consumer forum abt this complaint and asked me to put it here.Thanks so much.I hope atleat now I will get my cell back in original condition..

                          sony ericsson mobile,k810i — dissatisfied with the product quality

                          purchased this phone from hot spot shop on 26.12.2007 & since then it has already gone for repair to salora service centre,okhla three times so to say it has been with me only for 10 days so far & rest of the time it was lying with the service centre only & till date it is with them only.                           Dear Sir,

                          This is to inform you that I have purchased Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone (Model No. S302) from dealer of Akash Telecom, Subhash Gram, West Bengal on 01.03.2009. At the time of purchase they have display the FM sound quality is perfect but very next day I have complain to the dealer about the ringtone sound quality is very poor, they have asked me to put memory card and get the MP3 sound quality will be better but after the introduce of the memory card the sound quality is not upto the mark and they also agreed with me. I also informed through e-mail Sony Ericsson to change the handset but advised by Mr. Rajiv Rana (Engineer) to contact Service Centre. Then I have contact with service centre M/s Aryans IT Services, Poddar Courd, 18, Rabindra Sarani, Kolkata700 001. Service Centre also agreed with the problem and received my handset for servicing the set and issue job sheet customer ID SEO[protected] ( Handset IMEI [protected]-7). At the time of delivery the set, I have found no improvement of sound quality and inform to them. The have agreed and asked me that they have also try with other software but not success. Then they have requested to wait for next version software will be launched by Sony Ericsson with in short period.
                          I have notice the said problem to Dealer & Sony Ericsson also but they are not entertain my request.
                          This is my expression to you I have purchased the handset for Rs. 6600/- which is invain, before opening the seal of the handset is there responsibility when I have open the seal is my responsibility. Why will be sufferer?

                          Sony Ericsson/ K810i Mobile — Poor quality of product supplied.

                          I purchased a mobile of Sony Ericsson/ K810i for Rs.13300, around a year and a half ago, suddenly the set became dead. I took it to Sony Ericsson service centre for repair they asked for Rs.4300/-. As per them as it is out of warrenty they are not liable for anything.                             It was almost 2 months ago since I submitted my phone for repair at NCCC Mall, Davao City, Philippines (January 12, 2009) and until now (February 29, 2009), my phone was not repaired. The service center always told me that the request from singapore is still on the process. Is this how the Sony Ericsson take the steps in giving their customers "QUALITY" service?
                            i have a sony ericsson w910i.i had a problem with the slider stem after it had a fall.it was on 3rd may 2009 that i gave my mobile phone for repair.now that, almost a couple of months are over when i asked the centre they said the company is takin in all the warranty mobiles and that he has sent it to the head office. it was in ICONNET, ADYAR, CHENNAI which was earlier a certified centre for sony, noe that they say the certification has been cancelled. y is that such a reputed company is providing such a bad service.

                              Sony Ericsson Mobile — Voice bursting

                              Dear sir,

                              I purchases SONY ERICSSON W200I phone on 09/05/08 and since I have purchased SONY ERICSSON product, my ownership experience has gravitated from bad to worse and since then I have been regretting my decision to purchase SONY ERICSSON product.

                              Thereby my confidence in the SONY ERICSSON Brand is eroding day by day

                              The mobile phone started giving me problems right from day I purchased. It had to be sent for repairs on 28/07/08 (Complaint ID SES08SAP14892) within 2 months from the date of purchase. I was promised a quick fix solution by the authorized service centre by makeshift repairs only to land with the authorized service centre for repairs on Nov-2008. This was followed by more repairs on 09/03/09 (ID SES09SAP11158) and 14/04/09 (Complaint ID SES09SAP11158). The ordeal was further aggravated by inconsequential commitments given by the service personnel to have resolved all the defects in the product after every service cycle only to land up with the repairer again after a couple of days and till date the defect has not be resolved. The SONY ERICSSON branded product purchased by me has turned out to be a liability rather than an asset. I have already paid high price for the product but have been unable to realize the value of the product in spite of paying the required cost of acquisition.

                              As per the suggestion given by the Call centre Executive of SONY ERICSSON, I have kept my mobile phone with SONY ERICSSON Authorized Service Centre (SAP Mobile Service Centre, Dadar, Mumbai), who in turn had given the Complaint No.SEO[protected] dated 12th May 2009. Till date my phone is with them only and whenever I have tried to contact them, the reply is “they are waiting for the child part which SONY ERICSSON is going to furnish”. I have already escalated this to SONY ERICSSON customer care department and the proofs of escalation are attached with this letter. As per my last conversation with service centre the message which was conveyed to me is even if I get this parts replaced under warranty the same will be remain under warranty for next 1 month only, and any problem arises thereafter will have to be bear by myself.

                              From the above experience I have concluded that the mobile phone had a latent manufacturing defect and hence the problem could not be resolved by SONY ERICSSON service personnel even after repeated visits to the Service centre for repairs. The fact about a latent manufacturing defect in the product was cleverly concealed from me at the time of selling the product and thus you have cheated me. I certainly deserve a better ownership experience and was needlessly made to suffer this ordeal for the past 9 months my only fault being my decision to purchase a SONY ERICSSON branded product.

                              A hapless consumer like me has thus been cheated by SONY ERICSSON company and I consider this experience with the SONY ERICSSON brand as my "MOMENT OF TRUTH"
                              Sony products are getting worse day by day.

                              I purchased sony vaio and within 2 months it had defect in display panel.Sevice centre kept it for 7days.
                              again after 3 months new problem has caught up.it started making noise.pathetic only word to use for sony vaio laptop.
                              Above all no response from service centre.they belive in sending automated mails only.

                              Never purchase vaio.my advice to future laptop aspirants

                                  nearly one & half year to recive my handset. after receving i show it to my closer technician . the i.c. of hand set has being removed also the mobile is given to me in the condirion that it shold not be repaired. this is your customer service.

But now i feel sorry for this, as my television is not working. The guy at the counter he snached the phone from my hand and said now even if i bring the logsheet he will not return my cell and he can complaint whomever I wanted. I asked your aent for Sri Lanka (metropolitent) they said they do not handle the mobiles that is not yet released in SriLanka.this mobile was purchased in HongKong.
