I had a very bad experience with zoomcar. I am astonished that so many people had similar experience as mine. Check mouthshut.com, tripadvisor, consumercomplains, facebook and many other websites. Just google and you will find many harassed customers who have put their bitter experiences about zoomcar.
Here is mine: my booking id is jps64ubo8.

First we had booked zoomcar (Ford ecosport) from vijaywada for free 390 km. But later we needed the car for an extra day. When i tried to reschedule the booking i was asked to pay another 3100+ rupees (Approx) but for the same 390 free km. There is no option to increase free km in case of reschedule. That was a trap by zoomcar, wherein a customer would end up paying more and more rupees per km other than the flat 3100+ rupees addition. So i cancelled the booking and was charged 200 rupees for the same.

We were preferring a suv or a big car for my travel since we wanted to enjoy the drive. After trying for more than 24-30 hours by refreshing the zoomcar app and website for a better car we just managed to book tata nexon for 3 days with 640 km free. We were indeed excited to try zoomcar for the 1st time with family. My booking pickup was at 6 am.
But ….. At 4:30 am my husband gets a call that the tata nexon is not available due to some accident and bla bla and we have no other choice than a downgraded vehicle - maruti swift…... That was heart-breaking. I wanted to cancel the booking but had full plans for next 3 days and with no option we said ohk. When we cancelled a booking we were charged…. And when they do not give you your booked car … no rules ….

When we went to collect the car, the condition of the car (Maruti swift) external was just ok types with some minor damages. But had no option than to accept as it is, since long drive with family was pre planned.

Once i started driving the car all sort of sounds were coming up from the dashboard and other parts of the car. It was a khatara (Knackered) car. I had carried my pendrive with music to enjoy the drive. But due to so much internal noise (Although all windows were all the time closed) music was almost unheard. Just accepted that this is the way zoomcars are and continued with the drive. The condition of the car was not at all good.

While returning we realised one of the tyre was punctured. Luckily there was a shop nearby and we could manage to get a person to change the stepney and get the punctured tyre repaired. Since it was small shop we could not get receipt but we paid 150 rupees there. After 5 km or less we stopped for tea at a hotel after which we were supposed to give the zoomcar and board train to go to hyderabad. To our surprise the stepney was also punctured. It was raining heavily that day and we were not getting anyone to repair the tyre. We were also getting late to go to the railways station which was approx. 1 hr away from the zoomcar drop location. Two people from hotel helped in changing the tyre and charged us 200 rupees. But the worst was still ahead. I was very angry and complained to the zoomcar people for giving horrible stepney. The zoomcar people there instead of apologising were saying that we will be charged[protected] rupees for damaging the tyre.
Damaging???
How can one damage an already damaged tyre is my question???
What type of stepney are they giving when u have booked car for 640 km. A damaged and worn out tyre? When i asked for the registration of the horrible maruti swift they said its of year 2017. From no angle it was a new car. It looked like a 10+ year old car.
I drive a renault duster in pune from 4+ years and before that i used to drive ford icon flair for more than 6-7 years. We have been going for long drives with duster (2014 make) to goa, bangalore, tirupati, mumbai, shiridi multiple times. The tyres and the complete car are in perfect condition till date.

So this is the zoomcar business who want to grab money from customers as they are aware that deposit amount (5000 rupees) is stuck with them.

They charged me 2500 rupees……. Initially they put as damage charges in the bill. I spoke to their customer care who forwarding the complaint. They shifted the 2500 rupees from damage charges to car cleaning fee. I was boggled. Again i emailed them saying that when the car was returned it was very much clean as no kids etc to dirty the car in any sense. Then they shifted the 2500 rupees to damage charges again. So by hook or by crook they wanted that money. Even after multiple emails they have not refunded my money back saying it’s genuine.

So all readers please be aware of this fraud zoomcar services. Other than money making in immoral ways these people are risking lives of customers by giving worn out cars and spare parts for long drive customers. Be aware

we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused during the reservation.

We did have a check on above escalation raised and see that during the reservation there was no complaint made for the vehicle condition. However, we see that the tyre got puncher during your reservation after 2 days.

In regard to the damage charges, we did have a check on the damage charges and have validated the same. We find that the damage charges are valid. We are sorry, we will be unable to reverse the damage charges levied on the booking. Hoping for your kind understanding in this regard.

You people dont want to look into the problem and have copy paste method used to respond to customers. This can be seen everywhere. Including copy pasting someone else's (some vamshi) message as reply to me on FB. How can you have two punctures on same day? and specifically second puncture within 5 KM? U provided damaged tyre to us with wrong intention of charging money. and this is 100% fact.
Also one major question, why do you have so many complains and unsatisfied customers? by just replying the same copy pasted messages and taking away their money and giving them mental stress you think your problems are resolved. Oh yeah the wrongly taken money from customers are used to pay salaries to copy paste responses. Good going Zoomcar.
I unlocked cycle one hour ago Now I am trying to lock the cycle and end the trip but not able to lock it. Cycle no is 3170386.
So I have left the cycle from where I picked it. So please reach me out ASAP or end the trip from your side because still I am being charged.

    I have booked a self drive car from zoom car chennai. I have deposited rs 5000/- as security deposit. After handing over the vehicles, zoom car has to refund amount of rs 5243/- and i received my payment of rs 1503/- from credit citrus refunds. But i didn't receive refund of rs 3740. Its been seven month since they have initiated their refunds and when i contacted their customer care they have replied that refund has been initiated and amount have also reached the source account. I haven't received any refund after rs 1503/-. The arn no. Of refund rs 3740 is 15134838061000002476709.
    Please make sure my money is returned and resolve the issue asap. They have been saying the same from seven months and not a single penny is recovered. They told to check if their is any problem from bank side. I had enquired with the citrus refunds and also my bank and there is no problem from their side. The arn given for the refund is not at all the format for citrus pay transaction. They try to loot money people however is possible. Business in india should be loyal and trustworthy. They take every chance of suing people for things they haven't done. Now i'm in trouble and they are not even checking from their side always blaming on other.

    We did have a check on the above escalation raised and see that Rs 1503 is already credited which is showing up on the statement.

    For the amount of 3740, the refund has gone back to your SBI account. If you have not received the amount. Please send us the SBI statement from Jan 31st 2018 (date of booking) to April 1st 2018.

      Hi,

      I have returned the cycle around 7:00 pm and i was unable to end the trip. It is all due to the broken lock. Stop the trip asap as i am being charged till now.

      I have already sent emails to end the trip but still, there was no response and trip is live.

        I saw a cycle standing outside the pedl station i had to go to the pedl station so i unlocked the cycle eventually it turned out the cycle was in a horrible condition to be used so i locked out and left now i'm trying to end the trip but it won't let me end and it's calculating the fare without me even using it and there's no way i can register a complain or explain the situation on the app. I would like the company to resolve it for me

          Hi,

          I have returned the cycle at 12:20 am and i was unable to end the trip. It is all due to a technical error of your app. Still i am unable to end the trip and even it is showing that trip is ongoing from 12:20 am and right not its 10:36 am. Stop the trip asasp

          I have already sent so many emails to end the trip but still there was no response and trip was live. You have charged 66 rs from my account, i need a refund of 63 rs back as i have used cycle for less than 30 mins only.

          Hi Team, I am unable to lock cycle no. 102300 as the lock lever is missing. My account still shows trip running and amount is being charged. I started the trip at 7:44am and tried to end trip in 25 mins, however, the trip is still running.

          Hi PEDL team, this cycle no.102300 had same problem back on 27-Jan-2017, refer attached screen grab of the complaint.
          Suggest you should permanently resolve the issue by replacing the lock, rather then making the users suffer.

            Zoomcar has levied damage charges to the tune of rs. 10, 000 on my booking when they had given me the car in that condition.

            I had mentioned major damage in the delivery report and took photos which show this damage was already there. Despite sharing this with them, they continue to say that the charges are genuine because according to them, all zoomcars undergo thorough checks.

            Instead of compensating me for a car in which the ac did not work, they are blaming me for this and are trying to extort money for the same. They are unable to prove that the damage was done by me although i have proof, through time stamped images, that the damage was already present when i took the car.

                Hi there,

                Even after me writing an email to zoomcar guys, they have respond inappropriately. Now that proves zoom guys are not reading emails and pasting templates.

                Why am i forced to pay a late fee and additional charges when i returned the vehicle at the parking lot before the stipulated time. I had left my phone back at home, so could not end the trip from my end. I handed over the vehicle to the person in charge there and explained the situation that i wasn't carrying my phone. He said do not worry he will end the trip for me. He ends up closing the trip way beyond the time wherein late fees apply. Check the gps data of that vehicle as to where was it parked during the hours where the trip was supposed to be closed.

                Why am i being forced to pay for these charges when i returned the vehicle in time. I left the vehicle back with the in charge at 4:10 am. Now for that, zoomcar guys have added penalties of 1800+.

                I requested zoom car guys over the phone several times to look into this matter and get it corrected. Every time someone called from zoom kept promising that they will get back to me in 24 hours. But no one would ever call back. I tried calling zoomcar guys by phone, but it seems that zoomcar guys have designed the ivr in such a pathetic way that if you don't make a booking you cannot talk to anyone from zoom.

                I am sick and tired by following on this issue over and over again and zoomcar guys behave that i am writing to them in greek. I request someone to get me justice.
                Please help me get this issue resolved as they continue to harass me by saying i have an outstanding. I have made end number of bookings with them but this was one isolated issue where i hit a dead end. Someone from email team, ashfaq, keeps responding to my email without correct info and forces me to pay. He fails to understand that i have been incorrectly charged.

                Please help me get this issue resolved.

                  I started my trip on PEDL but the cycle did not get unlocked. I tried unlocking it multiple times but it never did. The cycle remained at the PEDL station. Then I proceeded to end my trip, but it kept saying I need to end my trip in a nearby pedl station when I was at one. I tried a lot but it won't unlock or end my trip. And now it just deducted Rs12 from my paytm wallet for a trip which I was unable to take. And it is showing an outstanding amount of Rs 6 as well. I never got my ride. Please look into this. I need my trip to be ended and my money be refunded. Thanks.

                    I started a trip on a pedl cycle at 9.30 pm today. And parked it at a pedl station at 9.50pm. Cycle number is 101369. Parked at pedl station near chandan nagar police station.
                    But i am unable to end trip even after continuously trying for more than 30 mins. And i am being charged.
                    Please end my trip and stop charging me.
                    And refund the amount charged unfairly from me.

                      We booked a Scorpio on Zoomcar from 13th Sep 2018 to 16th Sep 2018, Booking ID- JPS64HWP2.On our last day of trip our car broke down in middle of jungle. We reported the break down immediately to Zoomcar that the gear has broken into two pieces.

                      Customer support said they will arrange a tow for the vehicle. Somehow me managed to get a mechanic to diagnose what was the exact issue. Mechanic said that he can weld the gear and things will be good.

                      We told the same thing to customer support and they said we only repair our vehicles at authorised places and if we did anything we have to play for this.

                      We were left with no option, so we had to book a cab to reach back home. Cab took INR 6000 to drop us at Mysore which was just 100KM from that place.

                      From Mysore to Bangalore we booked another cab which took INR 5000.

                      After completing the journey when we reported this whole issue to the zoom car they said they can only give us 300-500 Zoom credits.(We were no where responsible for that gear breakdown, as that cannot be member's fault)

                      We payed INR 21, 000 to book Zoom car for 1290KM and we nearly drove 600+ KM and again we Payed INR 11, 000 to reach back home.

                      We even tweeted the issue and I have been calling then from past 1-2 weeks and they are just delaying.

                      Going through the Zoomcar policy there is NO mention of that the person who has rented has to bear there own expense to travel incase of the breakdown( for our related condition).

                      Also, they could have let us weld the car, everything would have gone right and we would had reached without hassle.

                      We have been booking zoom car many a times but this thing happened for the first time which made us question there credibility.

                        I am not able to end the trip and being continuously charged for the same in paytm.
                        I have mailed several times to the customer service helpdesk but no response received.
                        Kindly please help and also please indicate the exceeded amount of refund.
                        The details of the ride will be shared with company.

                        Please look into the matter urgently, as i am continually being charged.

                          I booked a zoom car booking id "JPS64ACID" for 3 hours in Hyderabad on 1st Oct 2018. the pick up location was in some remote village area, took me 2 hours to reach and find the building. the car was so old and dirty that i hardly drove for 20 mins, only 5 kms i drove my booking time was almost over when i reached for pick up.

                          now they have charged me 6000 damage fee, what can i damage in that crap car? once booking is started they block customer number so that no body can reach out to them. i have tried to call so many times, it does not connect. it used to connect every time before payment was done.

                          there is no damage done, i just drove in nearby area and parked it back.

We find that the damage charges are valid. We are sorry, we will be unable to reverse the damage charges levied on the booking. Hoping for your kind understanding in this regard.

                            I already complained 2 times... And its been 35 days still these worst services who are robbering in d name of zoom car ltd still didn't gave my money back... Atlest till 25 days of my booking i was able to talk to zoom car care... But now if i call it get disconnected... These are d ppl who are robbering ppls earned money... So please do something to get my money from this worst pvt compony... And please post this in their page so one should use these zoom car and be frustrated like me... The service is d worst service... They don't check the car before giving to customers.. Which made me stuck in a dense forest for 5 hrs...

                              I started my trip on Sep 30, 2018 and when I am tried to end the trip at the same location where I got the cycle, I am unable to end the trip. App is telling to park it at the PEDL station. However, this was my first time and the PEDL station is very far from where I picked the cycle and started the trip. I tried calling the customer care however there is no option for PEDL. You can also check the trip starting and ending point of the PEDL for the confirmation that I parked it at the same spot where I unlocked it.

                              I have even registered a complaint at the same time through email and I have still not received any response from the Customer Care.

                              THIS MISTAKE IS FROM ZOOM CAR'S END, IF YOU ARE NOT ALLOWING YOUR CUSTOMERS TO END THE TRIP ANYWHERE (ONLY AT THE PEDL PARKING) THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE ALSO NOT ALLOWED THE PERSON WHO PARKED THE CYCLE (FROM WHERE I PICKED IT UP) TO END HIS TRIP. ALSO, I SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO START THE TRIP FROM THAT ANONYMOUS PICKUP POINT.

                                I started the trip on pedl at 8:22pm on 29th september and after around 25 mins i parked it at a reserved parking lot. I tried to end trip after that till now atleast 15-20 times but no success. It has already charged me 162 rupees.
                                Also i have tried it to stop as different times of the day but it didn't work.
                                Could someone please look into it.

                                After finishing travel through Zoom pedl from indiranage metro to jeevan bheema nagar, the trip is not ending via app. I have to pay excess money (9 times). There is no number or email we can complaint about. It happens two times. Yulu is better compared to zoom pedl though their prices are high, their app is excellent and genuine.

                                I have lock my zoomcar padel cycle within 25mins but it took additional 40 mins to end my trip and charge me 300%. It's very unethical and time consuming.

                                  I picked cycle at3.29.. I came to pedl karvenagar station... And tried to end trip before one hour.. It did not accept.. From that point onward i waited for 25min.. Then frustrated locked and went... Afterwards i am informed that they are charging for 6hours... Please waive off so that my account is cleared..                                       Very suspicious replies from customer service.

                                      They avoid addressing direct questions with direct answers - keep suggesting irrelevant options.

                                      Customer service refused to delete account information from their servers - after multiple requests.

                                      My personal data has been leaked and has been used for extortion so made multiple requests to customer service to delete my personal information from their servers.

                                      This website might not be secure to hold personal information - very suspicious.

                                        I nagedra prasad from bangalore - i booked zoom car on 29th ( jps64dx55), to take my family to function at 30th 10am, we family member of 5 went to the location at 10 AM on 30th, we searched car for 15 min, car was not but in location it was saying car is present in the location. later i called customer care, executive informed me that she will call me back we family was there on the road for 30 min in hot sun waiting, later executive called me said car is not there and she will arrange different car, i was very frustrated, excutive informed me that with in 10-15 min she will arrange different car. again waited around 30 min, it was almost 1 hour waited in hot sun with my family.

                                        Later executive called me and said causally that car is not available and to compensate she will be 500 rs zoom car credits, this is one of the worst and service they have. also they will refund the money with 10-15 days this was the service they give.

                                        They would have informed me if the car is not there. i would have made alternate arrangement this wasted my time, book of car was at 10 Am at 11:15 they are saying dont have car.

                                        company is so worst that they dont even have car if car is not there this how the company is working.

                                        Now my money also got struck in the company they will refund after 15 days, also no car, i reached function with my family around 3 o clock where function was over,

                                        i am advising to all the people is that do not take zoom car they have worst service they take money later they say they dont have car, will make your life miserable during that period of time which you have planned.

                                        later i got to know same has happened to many of my friends also .

                                        We understand that it is very disappointing when the book gets cancelled. Due to a shortage of vehicles, we were unable to serve your booking. We did try to find an alternate, failing to find one, we informed regarding the cancellation. We will ensure that such issues are minimized in the future. We regret that we will be unable to compensate for the lost time, but, we will surely take rectifying measures. Appreciate your understanding in this regard.

                                        In regard to the refund, we see that the refund has been released through IMPS and we have sent an email with a link to your registered email ID. Request you to login to your Zoomcar account and then click on the link. Enter your bank details and the amount will be instantly transferred to your respective account

                                        or

                                        You can initiate the refund by selecting the option " Get refund" in the application under the respective booking ID.
