I converted my prepaid account to postpaid just 10 days before. I also activated the data pack (unlimited). But after 1 hour of doing this my outgoing service was disconnented. When I contacted their Customer service, They informed you have crossed the credit limit, now these unbilled amount they will balance while preparing the final bill. By my further investigation through customer service and vodafone store,They treated me as a character in Hindi Movie. Stores people told me to contact Customer care, You need physical verification, wait for some time and many useless things and Custome care people said to contact a vodafone store. After that they advised me to recharge some amount then your service will be activated. when I ask how much , they said as much you like, but if you want to use data pack it has to be 10,000 otherwise it will be disconnected again. When talked with senior officer, to register a complain " Why was not I informed when data pack was activated, that the unlimited data service will be deducted from your credit limit, when you knew that"; He adviced me to go a store and recharge to avail it. When banks are not asking to pay such a huge amount to open an acoount , how can one telecom service provider get a sum of 10000, which will be balanced for 500(at most, min. rental 300+200, data pack).
The customer service(CS) and store employees had a diifferent of opinions, CS says data pack will be unbilled, store people says no it will not be unbilled. More interesting is that you have to pay the call charge even if you want to complain, your seriousness will be responded very lightly like a silly issue and they will ask you to hold for some time, a back ground music will be there.
When I wanted to change my service provider, They said It will take three months and you have to run from one office to another. This is how customer is King.
Here the more important role to be played by govt. to have some policies to create competition among service providers so that consumer can get the max possible profit, But govts action have made them to collaborate among themselves so that they can do maximum cheating from the customer. An interseting thing is they used to send a SMS to send the feed back after a conversation with customer care. I have talked about 10 times within last two days , but they did not send a single SMS.

Vodafone — unable to change from postpaid to prepaid
