I had booked a Homestay in Kasauli through MakeMyTrip (MMT) for check in on 31/03/2018 and Check out on 01/04/2018. The full payment was made and I also received booking confirmation from MMT. When I called the Host for directions to the property on 31/03/2018 on my way to Kasauli, I was told that the host had already sold the property to someone else since he did not receive any confirmation from MMT about my booking. After around 45 minutes and 4-5 to and fro calls to MMT where I kept getting put on hold and at times for 5-7 minutes at a stretch, we reached an understanding that a full refund will be made and an alternative arrangement will be made in Kasauli for stay. For lack of any options, I had to accept the alternate stay arrangement since I was nearly reaching Kasauli.
To my horror, I was accommodate in attic room size approx 6'x8' and really unhygienic washroom in stead of a two bedroom apartment that I had originally booked. To top it, MMT has refunded only INR 2, 700 instead of the full refund of INR 3, 540. After calling MMT today at around 11:15 and again going through hold time of around 5 minutes, I was told that the concerned person will call me by 12. Its been 1 hour and 18 minutes past the promised time and no call received nor any refund in sight.
MakeMyTrip India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
