Hi Customers,

The truth: Univercell buys outdated, refurbrished products from the manufacturers.

This is the reason why most of the mobile phones/accessories bought from UniverCell have problems or require servicing regularly.

The fact that UniverCell sells the refurbrished goods to its customers is kept in dark.

For those who donot know what is Refurbrished product:

When a customer returns the faulty product to the service center and if the service center is unable to repair it they send the faulty unit to the main manufacturing unit and give the customer a new replacement (if the unit is with in the warranty period).

The faulty unit is then refurbrished at the main manufacturing unit and sold at a very cheap price (usually 10 - 20 % of the original price).

Univercell buys these products, removes the "Refurbrished" tag that comes on the package and sells it at the regular price.

Hi,

Thank you for telling what kind of products are sold at univercell.

Now I understand why my Sony Ericsson mobile stopped working with in a month after purchase.
And surprisingly my girl friends mobile always has display problems on the screen.

No wonder both of these mobiles are brought from UniverCell.

    "You are cheated by Univercell, not me..." these are the words uttered by the representative at Kukatpally (KPHB) showroom today i.e. 09/09/09.

    I dont feel any different, I too feel I'm cheated.

    As per the news paper advertisement on 22-Aug-09, The buyer gets a free "SONY ERICSSON" bluetooth headset with every purchase of Sony Ericsson K330 phone.

    As there were no bluetooth headsets available, they promised me the same with in 3 days from 22nd of Aug 09. I trusted them and bought the phone on same day i.e. on 22-Aug-09, but they failed to give me headset in promised time.

    Today i.e. on 09-Aug-09 they called me and said that I can collect the bluetooth headset in the Univercell store, but to my shock they gave me a bluetooth head set that has no brand specified on it and Mr. Vijay Kumar B (who told me that he is the manager) said "I CANT HELP YOU" and when I insisted to get a phone number or email address to complain, he said ""You are cheated by Univercell, not me..."

    Its really sad to see such reluctant people around in the store.. its time you wake up and stop falling for such cheap offers.

      Hi,



      I have purchased a Sony Ericsson handset R300 (IMEI # [protected]) from Triplicane Univercell on November 22, 2008 with Mobile theft & Damage insurance. Invoice # P-TRI/6001.



      Unfortunately on April 2, 2009 I met with a minor accident and the display of the handset got damaged. It was handed over to the Triplicane Univercell showroom and in turn they gave the mobile for service at ACCEL on April 7th. But it was returned back to us saying that it is not possible to rectify the damage caused to the display of the handset.



      I was very much disappointed with that response, since the handset was already covered under damage insurance.



      I would like to know what are the next steps to get the mobile replaced or rectified. Please let me know as soon as possible.



      Also let me know if there are any other formalities that would need to be completed from my end.



      PS – The scan copy of purchase invoice and service receipt attached.

      Univercell - Chennai — Handset replacement problem

      Most of my friends said the same thing as above, I have an idea to buy a SE w200i from Univercell, friends I need your suggession about this. Mail me. [protected]
      i have a similar experience at hyd recently
      and the univercell shop from where i purchased my mobile is no more open.
      they have closed the shop and a chat bhandar is operating there now.
      all the contact numbers / email addresses given in the purchase and insurance invoice
      are either not available or not responding.
      i am confused now as what to do?

        I had bought a mobile from Univercell mobile showroom, Ameerpet, Hyderabad. on 6th Aug 2009. Once I've opened the seal after I bought the mobile, its losing network signal for every 2 min and the USB slot is also not working. However it was their problem the manager of Ameerpet, Hyderabad showroom talking vulgarly.

        I had given it in the showroom for service and they told me to collect the mobile the next day but when i went to collect the mobile they are talking very rudly and come on the next day. It happened 5 times. This is ridiculous. How can this happen immediately after purchasing this mobile. Also, the MANAGER in the showroom (AMEERPET, HYDERABAD) is using vulgur words, not bothered about the customers, and dont know how to respond or react to customers. He is literally DUMB.

        I need an immediate solution. I dont want the mobile which has so many problems. I doubt if you are actually selling real genuine MOTOROLA handsets. I need a replacement immediately. NO EXCUSES ON THIS. I SHALL ESCALATE THE ISSUE FURTHER AND SUE THE COMPANY FOR THIS IF I DONT GET A REPLACEMENT.

        I totally agree with the bad customer care/support of ameerpet Univercell. I moved to Hyderabad from Chennai. I wanted a new connection and approached Univercell...they told me that my rent agreement which is a legal document (100 Rs Stamp Paper) was not acceptable as an address proof. He even suggested me that i can take a phone in the name of a friend...i tried to explain to him that i need the billing connection in my name to have the amount reimbursed by the company. He said he cannot help and literally threw my documents out of the table...i had to pick it up from the floor...the secunderabad Univercell (paradise corner) is just the same...just that they didnt throw the document...
        the people always try to say the features of the shop, but when they come across the problem they would know the real service from the shopkeeper, the customer know they are responding
        you should have battered the branch manager...

          Recently I bought a new Virgin mobile phone in Univercell mobile store located in Parryscorner. I actually decided to buy any nokia phone but from the beginning he keeps on insisting me to buy Virgin mobile
          phone. He gave me wrong information about the plan and features on that mobile phone. They have cheated me by giving worst mobile phone. After three days I found that the plans he told wasabsolutely wrong. So I went and spoke to manager and to the employee who sold me that mobile. Univercell employees talk to customers with respect and dignity on the first day. But when you go back to univercell for claiming any fault or repair, they won’t consider you. I was affected by this problem and I didn’t find any solution for this. On the same day itself I saw four customers complaining about the faults on their mobile. If any failure model mobile is not sold out for many days, they brainwash the customers to buy that mobile from their shop. So don’t ever choose univercell store due to its popularity.
          i bought SONY mobile ON 25th August, i faced some problem in that, so i approached UNIVERCELL for replacement.But no response from them, it seems they seeling 2nd hand mobiles(one guy scouting in Univercell).please dont buy any mobile OR any accessory in UNIVERCELL.. better go to NOKIA care OR SONY world, and refer respective site to get they own shop address...

          Please Dont go to UNIVERCELL MOBILE... poor service... w
          I had purchased many phone from Vellore branch
          I had purchased Sony ericsson handsets W8901 Black [protected], TAX INVOive UTN 398422
          inv.Date P.VLP/6348 24/Aug/2008.
          The handset develop complication like net work problem & Charging problem, hence the mobile phone was given returned for replacement on 27/06/09 within the varinty pread vide recipt no 7088

          till date no action has been taken Vellore Branch while containg them they have requested me to take back the handset with out assaing any reasons

          Kindly intervene and do the needful on prearity

            Hai Readers,

            This is muthukumar from chennai. I bought Nokia 3110C in univercell on October 5th of 2008. Obiviously, my mobile is in warranty. In january, I had a problem in my mobile that whenever I am plugging my Headset in the mobile, the device is not detecting by the mobile. I went to NokiaCare - TTK Road Alwarpet. They told me that they have no stock of that socket. So I was waiting for more than 10days then only they provide me the support. But When return the phone to me, I found some disturbance in the left speaker of Headset. They argue with me that the problem is with the Headset. I proved them with several other headsets then only they agree that the problem is with their service. It took me another 10Days to rectify the problem. When returnback the phone they are boldly telling that "THE BUZZER WILL NOT WORK IN THE PHONE". (I.e) My speaker will not work. ONLY I can speak through Headset. How brilliant they have rectified my first complaint. I was waiting mor than a month. They are telling that due to some Cheque Bounce issue, HO is not releasing the stock. See how perfect they are with their Customer's care. After 1.5 months, They got the stock and they provide me the support but after that the Sound in my phone is very low even with the maximum point. With in next 8 days, Now I have problem with the DISPLAY. So, Even after spending 3months, I am still not getting a perfect handset. Now they are telling that the Stock for Display device will come by this weekend.

            Dear Sir,

            whom so ever concen,

            I Nagarjun took 2 docomo sim cards ([protected] & [protected]) from your Universal Store Ameerpet
            on 3/8/2009 and i have submitted my photographs and ID Proof my signature of caf form to your executive.
            The executive promised me that the sim will be activated with in 15 minutes even by the end of 48 hours the sim is still not activated,
            when i called land line number [protected], regarding activation i got irresponsible reply from your executives as soon as they
            get my name they placing phone aside, and i even called store manager on his mobile [protected] same thing was repeated,
            when i told him that i will complaint this matter to the higher officials some filthy language being used bye him.(mr sing).
            I have recorded the total conversation with the store manager in my mobile phone. this is for your kind information and please
            see that docomo sims get activated as early as possible.

              I bought a Samsung mobile from Univercell Anna nagar, chennai paying Rs.7900. The sales person convinced me saying that it is a wonderful phone having all the features, video recording, voice recording, flash light etc etc...but i found that the signal reception of the mobile was very poor, the other person on the phone will ask you to repeat 20 times before you could understand, and voice is so distorted. You can record video only for 23 seconds, and voice for about a minute. It is a very pathetic phone where you cannot read/open sms having smileys (emoticons). I went back to the store saying i was cheated, they said they can take the mobile for exchange, and they can give Rs.1500 for the mobile (hardly 2 months since i bought my mobile).
              Univercell is a big cheat...Beware...

                I had brought Sony Ericsson k530i, and they mentioned that i have a offer TRAVELER BAG but they DON'T GIVE ME. Whwn I asked them they told that it was for the exchange offer. And later I had got a charging problem with it. They told that it was an physical problem and they CHARGED Rs.440 and they told me collect it after one week. I went and collected the mobile and by that day itself, THE SAME PROBLEM had again occured. I again went to the shop and told them about the problem but they had NOT RETURNED THE MOBILE TILL NOW, telling that ((((THEY CAN'T GET THE PARTS STILL NOW)))).

                I am reproducing the complaint letter sent to the MD Univercell. stil the problems are not solved.

                Dear Sir,

                I would like to brief my experience in your Parrys branch.

                I have visited your Parry’s branch for buying a new mobile. My requirement was a mobile with GPRS and Qwerty model.

                Your Executive Mr.Deva received me and suggested a mobile model Karbonn K10. Accepting his suggestion I bought the mobile. Date of purchase 08/03/2010. Bill No.p.pys/24948. Subsequently also I bought two more mobiles from the show room. Bill No. p.pys/25932, p.pys/ bill misplaced.

                But, my last visit at the time of buying my 3rd phone was not satisfactory. Whenever I buy I used to get two Sims free. For the 3rd phone also I insisted for two Sims free. But the sales girl refused to give as free and collected Rs.110/- from me. She received various documents for issuing the SIM card had not submitted at all to the service provider. This resulted in deactivation of the sim by the service provider (phone numbers [protected], [protected]).

                After one month time I found that the Karbonn K10 started giving trouble and also the colors started fading. Immediately I complained to Mr.Deva, he assured me of providing a stand by phone and agreed to collect my phone for repairs. Till date he had not done so. Even yesterday (16/06/2010) I went to your showroom after calling him over phone. But he was not available in the show room.

                Once again I returned without solving the issues.

                Regarding this I have already informed your customer service. They called me back and assured of solving the issue. But no body had bothered to solving the issue. All the phone numbers and addresses given in the karbonn service guide are false. I could not trace out the service station. So, I relied on your show room to get it repairs.

                The problems now I am facing is :-
                1. the display screen is not clear.
                2. the keys colors faded.
                3. the joypad is not functioning properly.
                4. there is electric shock while using the phone when connected to the laptop or even the Charger.
                5. some times the phone turns off automatically.

                My strong feeler is that the hand set which was sold to me could be a used one and not a crossed the quality check.

                Please do the needful and avoid unpleasantness.

                  Hello sir,

                  I bought Sony ericsson W302 on 28-01-09 in Univercell at Eluru road Vijayawada. The phone was a defective one. according to the specifications, the standby time of the phone is 300h and talk time is around 6h. but when I fully charged it up, it did not even return 1 day of stand by time. the sound output was very low and I can't even hear the ring tone through the loud speaker. when I asked Univercell store about the very thing, they did not respond and sent me to sony ericsson service centre. there they did not rectify my problem and did not even replace the defective phone. Please take necessary action on sony ericsson and Univercell for selling such good for nothing phones and deceiving consumers.

                    Hi, i bought a new N72 nokia mobile from universal after 3months it say no net work coverage i had taken the Mobile to a nokia center and they had said would take 10 to 15 days .i went after 15 days and they said nothing to do we are not sure what had happened so asked the universal people i went -they said that we have to send this mobile to niokia center i explained to them and they said we would send to the nokia people so would take 10 days.i was sent to nokia again and again no one had responded to me and one nokia center said that we don't see any proof that right from the beginning you had given it to us for service and i had showed the proof he is saying that one particular # should be taken from the Mobile they did not take so i will not accept because i do not see any proof is this my mistake ???i had used the mobile for 3 months only i had spent my moneyy to travel one place to another, , , , , i had all the proofi gave Rs.8.500 for this Mobile i bought the Mobile aprl-2008 and this happend jul-2008justice please! wating for a good reply at the earliest!Nicole.

                    UniverCell mobile showroom / N73m mobile — Duplicate battery

                    In univercell mobile showroom they are issuing duplicate battery.Today i checked my battery in Nokia site.Its not valid

                    UniverCell / Nokia Prism — customer service at its lowest levels

                    i had gone to buy a HTC mobile with features such wi-fi, pushmail etc at one of the UniverCell outlets at chennai. I was canvassed by to buy a nokia saying that is the hottest in the city and it is too good. From the very first call made i found it difficult to hear what the other end speaks and same the case with the other end as well. On the third day the cell completely failed to transmit whatever i speak to the other end and on the same day i went to this shop at velachery to get the model changed. I was litlle late to realise that the model was a total failure for its voice quality and issues. But, obviously for the dealer's margin in selling a failure model, i was denied the chance of going for another model from same brand (nokia) which is double the rate. The reason given was they had not received any compliant from other buyers of the same model. I went to the extent of proving with the help of a person from Nokia quality team that the model was known for its bad voice quality, but the customer service people did not try to understand any logics or stick to the same stand without any reasons explained to me. Why these kind of people come to business if they do not have the basic level o[censored]nderstanding capacity and reasoning skills? It does not require any guts to say 'it is not possible sir' after taking my money. If you have no answer for any of my queries they either you should oblige the request or return the money back. Why you could not show your real colors when the deal was not made? Shame on you univercell!!

                    UniverCell (Nokia Care) — Worst experience at Nokia Care

                    One of the most disgraceful, disrestectful, arrogant people i met was at the NOKIA CARE(Owned by UNVERCELL). I really dont know how mr. Sathis babu is coping with it. My mobile is stuck with them for past one and half months and in return they are giving me a scratched mobile( New replacement was guaranteed).

                    None of the univercell people are willing to talk and are making me to run from pillar to post.

                    Airtel & UniverCell — IPhone support

                    I bought a IPhone 3G in Univercell Chennai last month. WIthin 2 weeks after buying the phone, I had multiple issues when connecting the Phone to my laptop like phone gets dropped from the Itunes. I couldn't identify this is a Datacable issue becaz it happened intermittently.
                    I took this to Univercell to confirm & they said Data cable is fine.
                    After few days, I was not even able to charge my IPhone. Problem here is, there is a single cable for data transfer as well as Charging.
                    Now the Ultimate thing is, Univercell doesn't know how to support this. After they had few internal discussions, they agreed to replace the cable but they said it would take 15 days approx.
                    Without this cable, i wouldn't be able to charge or do data transfer. So now i have to switch off my phone till i get the replacement from Univercel.

                    When i was trying to speak to some one on this, there is no proper support team from Univercell / Airtel / Apple . I was totally frustrated now.

                    I just wanted to inform everyone, check the support terms before buying Apple in India.

                    I have purchased a Nokia N-72 Mobile in july 2008 till in the very first month the display got problem and i submitted for service it took 20 days to repair the mobile was given back to me after repairs. from then the mobile is getting switched off every 10 minutes. i took it to service center for several times say 6 times but not got any solution till now they return me the mobile saying it is ok but the complaint still exists help me solve the issue

                    I have problem in nokia mobile 2630, therefore i have gone to univercell in madurai(east veli branch). One person attended me then i told him about the problem of my mobile. When he was checking that problem one of his colleague(name Mr. Prasanna) threw the cell up and he didn't catch that so it fell down. So i told them it could be damaged i want new one because this was not my mistake. They argued with me for several hours. Then they told ok, we would change body of the mobile but we cannot change the battery at all, i accepted that because that is correct body only could be damaged. They told me it will take 15 to 20 days to give back the mobile because we have to send your mobile to chennai like that at all they told i too believed that. But after a 13 days they called and told me that they have got my mobile. I went to your shop but they gave me that old mobile and they were saying that we didn't put your mobile down it was just slipped and Mr. Prasanna told me that i didn't bring the mobile with some inner object( i dont know what exactly is that)
                    and for that he spent Rs1000/-. But we went to Nokia priority to check out the old mobile condition and warranty at that time only we come to know they have repaired the mobile with in a day but they took 13 days to deliver that mobile to me not only that he didn't spent even single penny. We didn't speak any thing to them, we just got that mobile we returned. Know say If your staff behave like how shall i come to your shop afterwards. This is really unfortunate incident. Please look forward over that matter and take necessary action. I am waiting for your reply Thank you

                    Airtel — poor support for iphone

                    i purchased my iphone from airtel outlet in mosque road, Bangalore. i gave my phone for repair around a month back, i was asked to pay 14000 for the repalcement of the screen, which i did. i was assured that i will get my phone back in 4-5 days, its been one month now and there is no onewho would take the accountability of this issue. i try calling the officials in this outlet but they keep telling me to wait for few more days, finally now they have stopped recieving my calls. i invested 31000 for the phone and another 14000 for the repair, after spending 45000 i dont have a phone and no one at airtel is responding on the ETA. i dont know whats going on, and feel that i should have never trusted airtel or apple. Can anyone help ????

                    UniverCell — The price is higher than others even in their own website

                    I brought a mobile (Nokia 5130) in Univercell, chennai 2 days ago. The price is Rs.5500. But if you see in their own website the price is Rs.5240. They are cheet peoples like this. price in web is less than real.

                    If you ask means they are telling like it's tax and other useless thinks.

                    Customer service is very wrost. It's not enough. There is only customers, there is no service.

                    If you have enough money, then buy in univercell. Otherwise search for some others.

                    Personal — Damage of N72 Mobile by Service Centre

                    My IMEI code is [protected] , model N72 , Job Sheet No.[protected]/091027/2 , Purchased on 23Feb 2008 . Due to display problem I have deposited said cell in Service Centre at Nagpur on 27th Oct 2009,10.33 AM .There was vibrant and shaky screen, all calls was coming and going at the time of deposit ,only problem was with screen. At the service centre concern authority said it will be rectified today and charges may be 332 Rs. If by chance there is need to replace H/W then cost may rise. On same date at 12.30 noon service centre person called me on phone [protected] and said H/w is to be replaced for perfect working of same, so for this I allowed to replace it, so that I will get delivery on 27.10.2009. But they could not deliver same on sad date and asked to come on 28th , when I went to collect my mobile at 10.45 I was kept awaited for 40 minutes. Secondly they have not repaired my cell. They physically damaged my mobile , They damaged my important data without my prior permission there is chance of misuse of same. They returned back same mobile in worst condition. Now ring in/out is not coming and problem is remained as it is. Manager / Owner of Service Centre Mr. Vilas Ghaisa has behaved very rudely with me as well as with my wife on her mobile [protected]. We have lost trust on the service centre at Nagpur. They are running business like a burocratic / Hitler way. They are simply forgotten that this is service centre & not a owner of Nokia . I participated actively in your "Extra Rewards" programme which assured a gift of Steel Copper Bottom Kadai for shopping Rs.2500/- and above; and a gift of Set of 3 plastic containers for shopping of Rs.1500/- and more. This shopping period has ended on 31st August, 2009 and I have shopped Rs. 3032/- on pass book no. 91 and Rs.1192/- on pass book no.122. That is a total of Rs.4224/- has been shopped by me during the period making me eligible for both Copper Bottom Steel Kadai and also set of 3 Plastic containers. Even after repeated visits to your shop (where I made all the transactions) in Yelahanka New Town, Bangalore 560106 and several oral and written complaints I have not received the gifts. The staff said they will inform me when they get the gift items and took my mobile phone number also. But, when material came they made telephone to many except me (I checked that my phone number was not ticked for having called me) and there was no missing call on my phone as well.

                    Kindly redress the problem on top priority otherwise it will lead to conception of trustworthiness of your programs and your false propaganda of announcing schemes to attract sales amounts to malpractices as per trading practices are concerned and and also taking consumers for a ride with false trading practices.

                    I will be forced to proceed if this complaint is also left unheard.

                    Hope Aditya Birla is not incapable of keeping its promises and keeping up good customer relations.

                    dated 11/08/2009.Charging fault arised and i gave it for service in gobichettipalayam univercell branch.they directed me to get it from erode branch.After attending the fault, the same problem still continued the very next day onwards.they again directed me to give it in chennai itself, as im a student at a chennai college.I gave it in Besant Nagar branch but they returned it with same fault and there is no proper response from them.It seems they dont treat the customers properly.Display and headset problem accompanied it.So i returned my mobile to gobi branch for service or for an immediate replacement.Ms.Nithya at Gobi branch at present, is in interest of providing good service and kind in response too.So i kindly request you to take action and help me in providing an immediate replacement or rectification so that no faults arises further.

                    i am M.prabhu i purchased Nokia C5 mobile in your shop at guduvanchery branch on 28/4/11,timing 16:54, Bill no: P.GUD/437 at the cost of rs . 9900 (including vat & general gift) the executive Mr.Justin Prabhu demonstrate the mobile (but they didn't demonstrate the headset), i was satisfied with his demonstration. So i prefer to buy the mobile. At the time of billing, they gave me the headset and data-cable seperately (which is supposed to be in the box itself, i didnt note that at that time). After three days, i tried to connect the headset but the pin(small sized) is not suitable to the mobile.
                    Then on the 6/5/11 i went to the shop and explained about the problem but they did not listened to my complaint and they tried to point out that i was cheating them.

                    As per our telephonic discussion, I would like to tell you that I bought Micromax X118 mobile phone from your official website http://www.univercell.in/ with my user ID rajatdixitmdwd. There is specification of battery stand by time of 240 hours. I checked with the service center two times, got the battery replaced too but after all that they told me & showed me on their official webpage & other websites that the stand by time for this mobile phone is only 10 hours which is not useful for me at all. I bought this mobile just to keep an extra phone with good battery backup.

                    Kindly check that and do the needful. Anyways, I haven’t used that phone at all and don’t want to keep it. Either you give me the refund for this product or exchange the phone with any other phone with the same price range with good battery backup.

                    On 13th September 2011 we had purchased N8 from your Kammanahalli branch, Bangalore. One Mr. Sunil who claimed that he is the Manager attended to our queries. My daughter who wanted to gift this N8 to me as a birthday gift had visited several showrooms in and around Bangalore and collected information about the Gifts and the best price for the purchase. Mr. sunil your representative at the Kammanahalli Branch, Bangalore promised us to give Head set worth Rs. 2500/- Carry case worth Rs. 500/- through his personal capacity along with any other Gift if offered by Nokia. He also made a few phone calls in our presence and confirmed the above package and till that time he was not aware of the synesier head set which was offered by Nokia along with N8. we had infact negotiating with him since 9th September for the best deal and also there was no stock of N8. He also claimed that from Nokia company there will definitely be some form of gift. Though other centres offered us much lesser price with Gifts for the same N8 we decided to pick it up from your Kammanahalli branch, Bangalore. On 13th September Mr. Sunil called up and asked us to collect the set when we visited the showroom he lied to us that there is only Black color and production of other colors has been stopped. He also requested us to pay Rs. 1000/- as advance to collect the set from Go down. However we paid the full amount of Rs. 22000/- and he promised to deliver the set in One hour. Though we got the set after almost 2 hours none of the Gifts were given to us and he promised us that it will be given in 2 or 3 days time. In spite of repeated phone calls and visit to your showroom attitude of Mr. Sunil towards us changed and he almost started abusing us. After a big fight we finally managed to get one synesier head set on 28th of Sept. which was due from Nokia as it was printed on the box. Though Mr. sunil agreed to give us Head set worth Rs. 2500/- Carry case worth Rs. 500/- through his personal capacity he changed his words and started fighting with us for no fault o[censored]s.

                    During my frequent visit to the show room i found that Mr. Sunil behaviour with the customers is very very rude. In fact we never expected such behaviour from the staff o[censored]NIVERCELL WHICH IS SHAMEFULL. Customers are to be treated with respect and not to be abused by such third rated persons and we as customers are not here to pay Rs. 22000/- and get abused by such third rated and irresponsible persons.

                    I hope that action will be taken against Mr.Sunil immediately for lying and abusing the customers in order to maintain the reputation o[censored]NIVERCELL.

                    I am Girinath here & i am working in Oracle India & i am in Yelahanka Newtown, Bangalore.

                    Please make 10mins o[censored]r precious time to read this fully & understand my issues.

                    Today morning i stepped into Univercell store for purchasing mobile(Yelahanka Newtown Bangalore branch). Then decided for Samsung Galaxy Y & it was 7500/-.
                    So, 1.5K i paid & remaining 6K i swiped my HDFC credit card. It didnt happen properly & the machine used by them was not proper & some loose contacts were there which they rectified & tried. Almost 4 to 5times they tried & swiped. I got a msg from HDFC that 6000/- has been deducted & approved. But Univercell guys says that it didnt happen. Then immed i spoke wid HDFC cust care & they confirmed me that Transaction has happened successfully & the Transaction No is 074914.
                    But Univercell guys are telling that it didnt happen & they are not ready to give the mobile to me. They told me that to check tomorrow(2nd May). But when they are not ready to give me a solution today, why do i need to leave that 6K with them.
                    I asked Univercell guys to come to my Home which is very near to shop & give the mobile. If transaction is failed, anytime you can directly come to home & take the mobile. But even for that they were not ready & the response i got from them really hurted a lot.

                    I dont like to escalate like this to Higher levels coz even i came from that stage of life. But every wrong things in my presence happened. One of the guy from Univercell called me & he told that his name is Rajashekar & he is MD o[censored]nivercell in Karnataka. Then later i asked his manager no & Email ID & i told him that i want to escalate & again when i asked his name. He told some Abdul speaking. By this itself its very clear that no one is serious in things. & also today evening when i called, they told that we will be giving the mobile now, u can come & collect. But when i went there, they have sold the phone which was opened by me today morning & they told that there is no Stock with them. How can they sell the product when Box piece is opened?? Its something very clearly states that they are cheating & doing something wrong & they are not true to customers.
                    The Univercell guy which i was dealing with was Devanand([protected]) & also i spoke to Mohamed Arshad([protected]) in phone & he also didnt give any good response & directly he is telling that Univercell is not responsible for this... & when i asked the seniors no, they were hesitating to give & this email ID's i got from internet. If they have not done anything wrong, why should they fear.??

                    Is this the customer satisfaction you are giving? & the words spoken by them was not in a decent manner. Now i didnt get my money back neither my phone which i had opened the box today morning.

                    I request you to kindly look into this issue & none of the Store merchants are TRUE here & not only here. Even in Univercell near Hebbal, Bangalore also some issues happened long back. Very bad support & service. & also i am not gonna suggest any1 to purchase mobile in Univercell. (I am not blackmailing sumthng, its the worst kind of service they are providing). I was frustrated by the response i got from the store merchants.

                    Univercell is not really a customer friendly model. I went there (medavakkam) for buying a specific model in NOKIA and they told me that this model has lot of complaints and they suggested a LG model which has no complaints. after 30 mins sales man convinced me and i bought LG. After started using that model, i realized i am not even able to install 10 apps due to memory problem. And i surfed the web and realized that the model in NOKIA which i wanted to buy is hot in the market and had very good review and feed back. Moreover the LG model has Rs400 extra compared to other show rooms.

He said HTC Explorer had offer MRP 13000 but now offer price is 7500. we ask to him in this offer price univercell only or other mobile shop also will offered. But he said univercell aadi offer no one to give in this price. we will call my wife to seach the mobile price in online flipkart Rs- 6799, poorvika 6399, univercell 5999. we told to him flipkart and poorvika price is around 6400 to 6800 but u will told no body give in this price 7500 what's this... why price like so many different compare to ur shop. He will said reason without vat and delivery charge.                     I bought a new nokia Lumia 520 in univercell. I love the mobile. But along with the mobile i wanted a transparent silicon pouch. But the showroom did not have a transparent silicon pouch, but the sales rep told to buy a black pouch and gave me a Bluetooth headset along with stating that it comes in a combo offer and sold it to me although i told him the Bluetooth headset is no use to me. He forced me to buy it . He said he will replace the black pouch with the transparent pouch the next day. The next day I went and the sales rep told it will come the next day., like this for 7 days he asked to come the next day. Tired of this I went to him on the eight day to get a reimbursement for the pouch and Bluetooth headset but the sales rep refused to take the Bluetooth headset and the pouch. I felt that the sales rep pushed me into buying the accessories and refused to take it back. M very disappointed with the service from Univercell as this is the second time happening o me.                     My karbona29 mobile speaker was not working within a month from the date of purchase. so i given it for repair in velacherry 100ft road univercell shop on 05/07/2014. service request no:4073.(I bought that mobile in the same shop and having insurance for my mobile).They told me within 10 days and maximum of 15 days, they will return back my mobile in in working condition.There is no response from them so i went to the univercell shop and i enquired about its status with Mr.Alagu, his mobile no:[protected].They behaved very badly with me and my husband and no proper response.Iam shocked.

But for this I got the prize and in rewards I have a done a very big mistake and blunder that too by paying in advance for SAMSUNG NOTE 3 i.e 2 in quantity for me and my brother.My brother's birthday was in this month (OCT) hence thought of gifting him a SAMSUNG NOTE 3 as a birthday gift but Univercell spoiled everything.On 25th Oct, 2014 (Saturday) when I went to purchase SAMSUNG NOTE 3 from Jayanagar 3rd Block Univercell Branch, Bangalore. But it was out of stock. Hence your Manager, ASM of Bangalore Division assisted to make the prior payment through our SBI Debit card (as we would be entitled for 10% Cash back (Diwali Offer)) who was present in the store at that time and promised us that he will deliver the handsets on Monday i.e, On 27th Oct, 2014 (Monday) morning.As per his words we made the payment on 26th Oct, 2014 (Sunday).But he failed to deliver as promised and did not even respond to ours calls, when we tried calling him. He was bluffing that he is in meeting even at 10pm and informed via SMS that he will deliver it on 28th Oct, 2014 (Tuesday) by 2 pm max and even the STORE STAFF promised the same.The next day i.e 28th Oct, 2014 (Tuesday) when we visited the Jayanagar 3rd Block Univercell Branch, Bangalore, the 2 Handsets were not even arrived neither in the Jayanagar 3rd Block Univercell's branch nor in the Warehouse. And the promised deadline for the second time was already crossed. And at 3 pm the Jayanagar Univercell Branch store manager with his colleague confirmed that the stock is on the way to the store from the Warehouse and we will deliver it you by 5 pm and also gave us the PROOF OF WRITTEN STATEMENT ON THE INVOICE THAT THEY WILL DELIVER THE HANDSETS BY 5 PM IN THE EVENING WITH COMPANIES SEAL AND HIS SINATURE WITH DATE. And at the same time, ASM of Bangalore Division was bluffing again stating that he is in the meeting (i.e BUSY) for the entire day.In the same day evening we also had a word with Service Manager, Karnataka. Now let's see what his story is. Around 6 pm when we called him up. He informed that we will get the handsets delivered on 31st Oct, 2014(Friday) as the stock should come from Mumbai. So we informed that he can send it via Travels and spoke with the Travels Manager and stopped the bus for about an hour to help us and we also informed that will take the guarantee of any risk or damage during transit. He agreed for that but From Univercell, Mumbai they stopped that.I'm also having all the proofs (i.e voice recordings, SMS, the invoice with promise date and time of delivery with seal and signature, etc.)Coming to today i.e 29th Oct, 2014 (Wednesday) when I had a conversation with managers. Both are supporting me and they are in my favor and are trying their best I hope so. But the question is that who is supporting them?                     rubbish (He saying that "you must get any mobile which is available in
                    that showroom or else do whatever you want you cannott get cash back) Is
                    this is the way to talk with the Customer. After investigation we found
                    that there is an cashback option but even for that we need to pay
                    Rs.100 and to write the letter and the cheque will be given after one

                      Univercell is a company which has tieups with big mobile sellers for selling defective mobile phones. I bought a Sony Ericcson W350i from the CMH road branch o[censored]nivercell. Since then my mobile has been not working. I got it serviced from them three times but in vain. Finally I threw the mobile to the ownres face and left the place frustated.

                      They have little sense how to behave with the customer. My request to you is that please refrain from buying things from retailers like Univercell if you want to save yourself from immense pain.

                      I BOUGHT NOKIA 3600, mobile i used only four month with in that period.Keypad button is not working.so i given in same universcell for servicing.but they are no correct responded for me..no one is DOING there job they are chit chating there.. not giving response to customers..telling come next day and next days.Upto 8 days gone finally they telling. They are no facility to change.

                      one more complait sir, recently i bought 7210supernova mobile..but memory card they are not giving micro SD card..they are selling outside..and they are giving only LEXAR low cheap card to customer and they making fool them..

                      I have bought two cell phones from UNIVERCELL. A sony ericsson low end model in 2006 and a nokia N series model in 2007. the first time i visited univercel, they kept me waiting for atleast 20 minutes, till they took notice. i bought a cell phone anyway, the reason partly being that the store was almost fully crowded that day and they were busy.
                      i did not want to go to univercell the next time, remembering my previous experience but they were still one of the biggest outlets in my area(annangar west, chennai). and this time i made sure that it would not be crowded when i checked in and it wasnt. i have not been to any other mobile outlet since then, but trust me
                      the treatment could not have been any worse. even a road side hawker in T Nagar would have handled me better. all they want to do is sell u some mobile as quick as they want and send you away. they dont have time to listen to what you have to say or are always busy with something else which turns out to be more important. well i need to buy a mobile again. guess what, i am not going to that [censored]hole. their monopoly is over and we have got a lot of options. it is a pity i have not discovered this forum so far
                      I too had bitter experience with Universal Mobile store at Chennai, Anna Nagar. They staff are totally indifferent and do not care to explain you the features and price tag details in detail. The expect us to buy just like a cabbage from a vegetable shot with out much examination and quarries. I got disgusted and left the shop without buying and they did not feel for it. wonderful shop
                      I fully agree with the comments and complaints given by the various customers o[censored]niversal cell. I had also a bitter experience when I visited the branch at Porur Chennai 116. Before entering the shop they ask you what model you want you buy and rate at which you want you buy. They wont even allow you to have a look over the model and ask for the phone. They behave very rudely and while attending you they attend somebody. They refuse to open and show the model of the phone which we want to purchase. It is a bitter experience to me.

                        Dear Sir(s),

                        I am really ashamed of being a customer o[censored]nivercell for purchase of a very basic model of sony erricson K200i on Sep 02, 2008 from your retail outlet in Annanagar, Chennai, vide bill No.054 for Rs.2000/-. Actually I went to purchase a Nokia model, but I should say that you have got a very good sales person to convince the customer to take sony erricson instead of Nokia.

                        Immediately, within 4 / 5 days I had a problem in charging and when I checked with your outlet they have sent to sony erricson service centre (SESC) and got the news that the set itself had a problem and they have told me to take another one in the same model.

                        After nearly one month, the set on Oct. 26, 2008 went off and did not respond for any charging or switched on and especially at the time when we receive or call others for wishing on the occassion of Deepavali. When we went to your same outlet on[protected] they were informed due to sunday the SESC is on holiday and asked me to come of Tuesday (ie[protected]. When we gone on 28-10 we got the information that SESC is holiday on account of Deepavali. On Sunday itself when I checked with them whether SESC will declare holiday on tuesday becuase of Deepavali your outlet said a BIG NO. Once again your outlet has asked me to come today (ie[protected]. On enquiry with SESC, they have confirmed that the set is in problem and your outlet people say they need one week time to give a replacement since they will get a written communication from SESC only by then they will be able to give.

                        It is highly ridiculous, since the SESC has confirmed the set is in default means then what made you to not to give a replacement. We know that we will not be reimbursed with money instead we have already informed about taking a Nokia model and pay the diference, which is not acceptable by your people.

                        In the whole episode I have been contacting one Mr Balaji and Thilagavathy. More to that I have never been informed to any one about my handicap, which I dont like becuase of sympathy. Why I am saying this to you becuase when I have been treated like this just imagine the other people. I went to your retail outlet with my dad and wife two times since I am working in an organisation as DGM Finance I will not be able to dance to your tunes. Hence, I have sent my wife and dad yesterday and today to hear all your above mentioned stories.

                        Adding fuel to the fire I noticed some 10 to 15 people have come to your same outlet for replacement of mobiles. If this situation is continued then you may have to think of doing some other business. I am sorry to say this but when I say I would rather say in upfront.

                        I would request you to kindly look into the matter on top priority and sort it out immediately.

                        For the above mail sent on 29-10-08, I have received an automated reply after that no further action so far.

                        This is the way they handle customer.

                        Beware when you go for mobile purchase at UNIVERCELL

                          Hi Dipesh,

                          This is with referance to a mobile phone being purchased at UniverCell City Center, Chennai on my stolen icici debit card.

                          I went to the UniverCell store at city center to enquire about the same and to my surprise i found that any of the credentials (e.g. name of a/c holder, signature) related to my card were not verified.

                          All fake information was provided by the thief on my name, which was never verified by UniverCell at the time of his purchase.

                          The salesperson did not even bother to see that the person using the card was a male and he was using a females card (my debit
                          card).

                          To add to my fury the thief went to another UniverCell store and bought another mobile phone without facing the hassel's of veryfying himself at all.

                          It appears to me that it is a practice o[censored]niverCell not to verify the identity of the individual who is making a purchase at there store.

                          I have registered a FIR against this incident. I would expect this matter to be taken very seriously by UniverCell and a prompt
                          action and cooperation to be extended for the same.

                          After going through copious number of complaints about UNIVERCELL and its staff, I do agree that UNIVERCELL is the worst place to buy any mobile phone with confidence. So every customer now should be warrented before buy mobile phones in UNIVERCELL show room at Devaraj Urs Road, Mysore. Citigens of mysore should be highly cautious to purchase any mobile, it is worth not to buy any mobile from this shop. The people over there are highly dangerous and scarey...alert...be alert...

                            I bought an Apple iPod 1GB on August 19th, I approached the Mambalam outlet (where I bought it) and stated that it is having battery problem, They were very very kind, said give the product we will send to service center, in one day we will get it rectified, else we will replace the product, I went back on the 3rd day, now they said it will take one week as we have given the product to the service center for verification. After 1 week when I approached them again they are coming back and telling that it is a software problem and I corrupted it. Its really a funny explanation which they said was given by the service center to them that Apple had split the support into software and hardware and since I corrupted the software I have to pay 300/- to get it fixed. Just for this I had to visit their outlet almost 4 times. The product is still with Univercell.
                            There is absolutely no reason why the software could be corrupt and even if it, they should get it fixed within minutes by changing the software without anycharge. Its really funny that Apple would replace hardware with no charge but would charge for software correction (with 11months warranty left on the product).

                            Nokia 3110 Classic — Poor Quality

                            I have Purchased My Nokia 3110c on 26/08/2007 from Subhiksha Store.
                            From very next Month it giving problem.
                            Getting restart again & again when insert a memory card. I have scanned the memory card & there is no virus in the memory card.
                            I have also changed the memory card twice, but the problem is still there.
                            Two times it will restart & third time phone will switched off. Again i have to restart the phone. It will work properly then. If i switch off the phone update the music library, again it will start giving problem. This is some thing to do with the phone it self. And Also there is problem of sending messages from my mobile through my card only.
                            when i insert any other sim card the messages are sent but not with my sim card.
                            please reply as soon as possible and give me the correct method to replace or repair the mobile.
                            I too have a similar experience with the Univercell Sanatorium branch where I gave my phone for service as the software got corrupted although it was under the warranty period. The service centre staff sent back the phone stating that the phone was third party serviced where in reality it was not. With great difficult I convinced the service centre manager who agreed to open the panel and check it personally by herself. She agreed that it was not third party serviced and agreed to fix the issue. This happened more than a month ago and I don't have a clue of what happened to my phone.
                            The Univercell Sanatorium branch staff do not take ownership or is bothered to keep a track of the job cards except giving a wague statement that I have to contact the service centre. Believe me you can never reach the service centre number nor no body there picks up the phone.
                            The sanatorium staff also that they are not bothered even if i send a mail to the MD as it won't be of any use.
                            I am sure that lots of people also have these kind of issues so I won't also recommend people buying in Univercell. As they have spoilt their reputation.
                            Very true experience to mee too. It has been the biggest blunder I have ever made in my life to choose to buy a nokia mobile phone from this really stupid agent.
                            I bought a Nokia 3110 classic mobile phone on the 20 th of november 2008 from trivandrum pulimood branch. Surprisingly the mobile showed low battery signal after 5 to 6 hours of very limited usage as I have another N73 for office use. The problem was mentioned to the agent and he assured a battery change. I was shocked to see a sales guy opening a new sales packet and taking the baterry from that pack and fitting it into my phone. But still the problem was not resolved. I feel now that my phone which I purchased from these unprofessional agent might be a similarly replaced one...god knows.
                            Three days later I gave the phone and they say it is a software problem. After a weeks time I had to really go after these people to get my phone. they say that the software has been restored. But still my prob was not solved but increased indeed. Now on the first of dec they took it for some big service. I Have no info since then. I contacted the customer care centre and lodged a complaint which was promptly adresses by a lady assuring prompt feedback. But so far she has not found any time to resolve my problems as I guess may customers like me have been indiscriminately cheated by these frauds and they are trying to get rid of all o[censored]s. Now what they have got they money na...
                            But dont take it for granted...I am planning to sue this stupid agent in the consumer protection court to get a new mobile refunded.
                            first dont use 2gb memory card.
                            2nd is use 1gb mem card.
                            3rd is try to keep ur phone memory empty with all basic info dat will already be in the phone.

                            Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone Model No. W5801 — Non receipt of rectified Mobile phone from Sony Ericsson Service Center

                            With reference to above I wish to bring to your kind notice that I had purchased a Sony Ericson Mobile phone (Model No. W5801 IMEI : [protected] on 20/08/2008.

                            However all of a sudden the mobile went dead on 27/06/2009 (before completion of the warranty period) and so I gave the same for repair to one of your authorized service center’s M/s. RT Outsourcing Service Ltd., Mumbai on the same day viz. 27/06/2009 (vide receipt no. SEQ09RSL11847). The concerned technician checked my mobile and informed me that the PCB is faulty and has to be replaced. I received my mobile back from them duly repaired on 13/07/2009 but on using the same I noticed that there were still certain defects in my mobile phone such as (a) Voice of the person speaking on the other side of the line not audible . (b) While on hands free mode the voice of the person speaking on the other end could be heard only from one earpiece only & many other problems.

                            Not satisfied with the job done by M/s. RT Outsourcing Service Ltd., I once again approached another authorized service center M/s. Accel Frontline Services Pvt. Ltd., who checked the instrument but refused to accept my mobile stating that certain parts from my mobile such as Shield, Blue tooth antenna etc. etc. were missing from the mobile, & besides this there were a host of other problems with my mobile such as receiving problems, no mmc, middle panel gap, VMI rejected, RF tampered with, scratches on handset.

                            Left with no other alternative I once again went back to M/s. RT Outsourcing Service Ltd., and handed over the defective mobile back to them on 2nd July 2009 which was once again accepted by them under fresh work order no. SE309RT110267 Dtd. 15/07/2009 with new IMEI No. [protected].

                            Ever since that day I have been continuously following up with them w.r.t. the position of rectification of my mobile over helpline no. [protected], but was time and again dealt with quite rudely by the staff monitoring this helpline who were not at all co-operative. Since most of the key parts in my mobile having been reported missing I am not in a position to ascertain whether these missing parts have been replaced or not by the authorized service center, I wish to state that I am not in a position to accept the defective piece & request you to kindly provide me a fresh piece as replacement towards the same.

I am having a proof of receipt on which date i gave the complaint and face the same problem like others faced. I have recorded the last conversation also for proof.

                            I wish to bring the following few lines for your attention and to give your staff appropriate advise to keep customers satisfied and to direct them properly.On 17th oct'09 I had gifted two motorola W388 models purchased from you at Ambattur shop to one of my relatives under receipt no:155871&1558706 dt.17th oct'09 in the name of Mr.Praveen but within 10 days of purchase of these two mobiles stated to be problem on the battery, getting weakened within 20 minutes after full charge also & it was reported to your Ambattur shop and there was no convincing reply.Your people have told to take to your sevice centre at Ethiraj salai.Even your land lines given at the back of bills are not wroking why do you give misleading information, see you deal with communication systeme but you do not have any means of communication for contacting any of your offices.

                            Then I went to your shop and the same reply was given to me also and hence I took to your Ethiraj salai.Your service centre last week & I understood that your service is closed and directed me to go fountain plaza.I went & met Mr.Javed in your shop and he told that Ambattur shop itself can repair this or otherwise I should go to your Alwarpet office.I got annoyed and shouted at him if Ambattur shop could repair why should I be directed to your Ethiraj salai and to pllar to post.Then he spoke to Mr.Raajkumar at Ambattur shop & finally I went to Mr, Raajkumar 4days ago.He replaced one battery new one for one mobile and took the other for sending it to you for observation.I do not understand how come both mobiles that too a new one could have same problem and I was ashamed to face my relatives on what they could have thought of me that I would have given some second hand sets to them.Your univercell so reputed and with lot of adds with cine actor Mr.Madhavan I am shocked how you mislead people.I am next to motorola factory and even I could walk in &make a complaint on this but I thought I should first speak to you and if no response from you then I should go to motorola.

                            Even the new battery which was given by Mr Raajkumar has got the same problem and I have informed him yesterday.I am tired of your Motorola mobiles and hence request you to take back and give us new nokia mobiles of our choice after going to ambattur shop to select and the difference of money would be paid by me.I do not want to take back my mobiles given for repair as my image is spoilt before my relatives and they are vexed with the mobiles.

                            it's a one of worst dealer shop, the educated people will never go to univercel shop, i bought a LG mobile on last tuesday evening, and went to home to charge it, but the battery is geeting heat in half-an-hour when charging mobile, then i try to call the univercel to tell the complaint but no-body is picking the call, and the provided phone no in the bill is the oldest no. when we approach directly on wednesday they will not ready to change the mobile, they will simply saying that if the mobile is taken out from the shop the client will have to take responsible for the product, and they didnt ask about the consumer complaints. and the sales executive people is main aim is sales the mobile. in unviercell there is an insurance for theft and damage, btu nobody will tell about that to client, if we buy the mobile and we send again to ask about the insurance they will tell at the time billing only we proivde the insurance, after the billing it's not possible to provide the insuracne. but the sales people will never say about the insurance at the time of billing, so people pl get aware about the univercel, if we buy the platform mobile it 's work atleat one month.

                            Universal mobile showroom — Poor service

                            I had given my micromax Q1 mobile for service( speaker not working) on 23rd april 2011. The mobile is under warranty period. They said it will take maximum one month to get back my mobile. I called them more than 50 times they are saying we will check with the service center and get back to you. But they are not saying the status till now. I went couple of times to their service station they are saying the same thing. I was very much depressed on this service. Atleast they would have said the correct status i would be feel good. But they are replying irresponsible reply. I am having the bill,service charge sheet in my hand.

                            univercell is worest show room and employes are waste they are treting to coustomers as servents.
                            I purchase a mobile in your show room in Coimbatore Cross Cut road on 10/06/2012 and that bill invoice no is 4194251 and mu name is R SURESH KUMAR and today while i am travelling in crowd bus i missed my mobile that mobile hand set make is MICROMAX and model is A50 and my mobile no is [protected] and while i purchased they told me that system is not working and we will give hand written invoice copy and afterwards when the system is working we will send the copy of bill to my residental address what i given in bill copy and still now i have not received and when i missed my mobile i went to your showroom and there they told us to come on noon and when we went to noon they told that there is no power and told us to come by evening on evening when go on 6 o clock they told us that there is no net activating now so try to come on tommorow morning .what is going do you think that customer without work i just simply going to your office and by this job i am highly dissatisfied i will visit and let my do the same so please take necessary action in case .and that mobile imei is[protected] and mu mail is [protected]@yahoo.co.in

                              I purchased Nokia 6233 mobile from M/s Univercell Communications, Valasaravakkam, Chennai on 14/02/2008 for my wife vide Invoice No : 207480 for a value of Rs.:7252 /-.
                              The mobile had a problem with its keypad which was getting struck.My wife took it back to the dealer on 18/02/2008 to rectify it.They asked her to go to Nokia Service Centre on the grounds that their service would take two days or more.She did as they suggested.
                              The keypad problem got rectified at Nokia Care, Valasaravakkam, (Case No : 343506/080220/11 )but the mobile case and the display were badly damaged during the repairs.
                              I along with my wife took it back to the dealer and complained about this demanding that they should''ve taken responsibility for any defect and done the repairs themselves, since it is on the support grounds they sell their mobiles at higher cost than other dealers.

                              They took the mobile for service on 20/02/2008 vide Job card No : 4112.We insisted on a replacement since just after 4-6days of buying the product, it had this many faults and damages.After on month time, they informed the mobile is ready, but we found only the damaged display has been rectified, the case damages remained and no replacement mobile has been issued.We refused to take delivery of the mobile and insisted on replacement.They promised to esculate this to their HO and get a replacement.
                              They again called us last saturday 26/04/2008 to convey the mobile would be ready by monday.We went to their shop on 1st May only to be disappointed that it is not yet
                              ready and also we would get only a serviced mobile.

                              I wrote to CORE to take action.I got a call from the Nokia Care Manager Mr.Kriti Banergee on 16-may asking me about the problem.There were no further updates from anyone.
                              I went to Nokia Care on 11th June and found my mobile in serviced condition with the same panel.I also saw that the mobile had been given from Univercell with a complaint of no audio output.I refused to take delivery.

                              During this four months we would have done numerous calls to find out about the status of our mobile, and each time we were only given false commitments on the delivery date.Also the mobile which I purchased on 14-Feb-08 and held for only four days, has over this period had keypad problem, display problem, audio problem and damaged panel cover, added to four months of lost warranty period.

                              If there are any Univercell / Nokia guys reading this, pls take responsibility and help me out.

                                IRRESPONSIBLE - WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

                                I had bought a mobile from Univercell mobile showroom, IMEI no.[protected] on 18th May 2008. However there was a software problem within a week of purchase. Pl look into the issue... Are fake mobiles being sold to customers?

                                I had given it in the showroom for service and they told me to collect the mobile the next day but when i went to collect they said that its being sent to the head office and will take 15 days to get...

                                Univercell claims to be the "ONLY MOBILE STORE TO HAVE 'ISO' STANDARDS" who also apparently claim to be "The first mobile retailer to provide Bill & warranty on every purchase".

                                But to raise curtains from the fact, UNIVERCELL is the worst place to buy phones from. I was told by Ms. Kanchana, In charge of the technical Dept, "I'm not your servant to have this done." Please note I was told this when I pressurized to have my phone which was being fixed for more than a month.

                                The showroom manager for Anna Nagar Mr.Mohan kept on giving me stories about the process in place, and also for the trouble he was going through to have my work done. He explained things to me as if I was being done a big favor.

                                As a result of what I went through I had no choice but to escalate the issue to some one responsible. I mailed the issue to Mr.Dipesh the Operations Manager and also the HR describing to them the behavior of the staff.

                                The reply to my mail by Mr.Dipesh was "This is really embarrassing, I will look into this personally" and that's it the case was closed by him by assigning the area manager to look into my case.

                                The area manager Mr.Balaji came into the scene with all the enthusiasm in the world, who called me and kept in touch with me for a couple of days promising to put things in place, and then came the actual character of the Univercell employees. He refused to answer my calls, and when I called him from my work phone he always promised to call me back in 5min and as he was a univercell employee the promised was expected to be under delivered.

                                Please bear in mind that by this time it was 2 months for me to solve a simple problem, which happened to be a MANUFACTURE DEFECT in the phone. Univercell made 3 unsucessfull attempts to fix my phone. Later i was promised a new phone and then i was told that i will be recieveing a new phone in some old pannel. Made no sence to me though...

                                Later when I went back to Mr.Mohan I was told "PLEASE DON'T ASK ME ANY THING, ASK MR.BALAJI ONLY, BECAUSE OF YOU I'VE BEEN GIVEN A MEMO." Again I was put at fault.

                                Frankly speaking, it was all my fault.
                                i. My fault that I brought a phone from them
                                ii. My fault that I was very patiently making a fool of my self.

                                I believe its high time Mr.D.Sathish Babu (FOUNDER,UniverCell Telecommunications) come to know the attitude of the front end.

                                And for all you people out there, IF YOU WANT TO BUY HEADACHE FOR A HEAVY PRICE, UNIVERCELL IS THE PLACE TO BE.

                                I SPENT Rs.11,500 AND WAS WORTHWHILE.
